Even though many will disagree with it, in its essence it is exactly as it is written here
For whole centuries now men on earth have been waging an undeclared battle with the Aglami, animistic servants who are in reality here solely and only in order to lead the human spirit to a higher receptivity than the low material level of today's intellectual exertion displayed by the majority of men
To all intellectual men on earth the Aglami appear all too often, through their activity, as an obstacle stepping into their path
They appear as those who continually lay unexpected obstacles in the path of men occupied with so many things, obstacles which men, who lack time, must then overcome
Something such as obstacles is of course always an annoyance to men, for it holds them back from the smooth fulfilment of their aims
It does not occur to them for a moment that these obstacles are here so that men should reflect and, for example, even change their hitherto way of life
Intellectual men have for the most part everything in life arranged according to their own prospects or, worse still, according to prospects taken over from others, and any changes therein bring them unrest and inner tension, which they receive with irritation, and from that it is then but a small step for an inward and outward battle to take shape out of it
And this battle has indeed been waged here for a long time already
At first sight it appears that the influence of the Aglami is the occasion for progress in the intellectual inventiveness of men in devising the most varied measures, so that men may be better prepared to face the unexpected turns coming from these animistic servants
That would of course in a certain sense be of benefit, and therefore, like everything of this kind of upbuilding in Creation, it could be considered good and right, but the Aglami work with all their activities towards a wholly different goal
Thereby they bring help which is meant in the first place to lead to the awakening of the spiritual inner being in man
In many directions of their existence men are to become more receptive to those smallest things that happen around them
In them they are to perceive a hidden and often very deep meaning, which from the standpoint of spiritual ascent brings them experiences of a precious kind
To see in the small things that happen around a man in his life a picture of divine guidance for spiritual progress, that is something which would very swiftly open the eyes of many to that part of the world which they have hitherto passed by, but which is an inseparable part of their being able to begin walking in accord with the higher guidance made ready for them
The animistic works in the divine all-wisdom around man for his real ascent, provided of course that he himself is receptive to these often small helps, which hide themselves for him in the thousand trifles of the day
By becoming aware of these small things man could come into greater harmony with the whole of the work of Creation, and thereby his path would grow more luminous, and gradually, in his attunement, he could experience the journey through life as a great, almost fairy-tale story bestowed upon him from the Light for his spirit
For that, however, he would first need to begin perceiving all that lies for him precisely in those happenings which so often step unexpectedly into his path and which today still rouse indignation and anger in him, because he regards them as obstacles to the path laid out by his intellectual volition
Instead of striving for the understanding and the recognition of all that speaks to man through the small things of the day, he takes it, however, as a challenge to battle and to the development of merely outward measures, so that such a thing may not happen to him again
Hence so many inventions aimed at forestalling all the consequences of forgetting things, of seeming absent-mindedness, or of a morbid insistence upon a feeling of safety in the most ordinary situations
Likewise the need to be in unceasing connection with others at moments when man ought first to seek how to share his thoughts by the invisible way, which from time immemorial has belonged precisely to the work of the Aglami
In all this men see progress of which they are proud, they consider it their answer to the challenges which the complicated life here on this earth brings them in many respects, but they do not realise that the true essence of human life lies in a different kind of wakefulness than all the intellectual measures with which mankind presses ever further and further onward
In reality all this is only a confirmation of mankind's severance from creative co-operation with the animistic species, which is omnipresent in Creation
Precisely through the Aglami the animistic has for thousands of years been regarded by men as sly in its unpredictability
Thereby it has been placed by a great part of mankind on the side which works against the interests of men, without there being for this any proofs supported by serious research and investigation
If mankind occupied itself with the doings of the Aglami with seriousness and with care in observing the real effects upon the life of man, then ever more confirmation would have to be found of what wisdom lies in the seemingly random occurrences that enter the lives of men, in which there is a working with a span of effects in time far longer than today's generally accepted conception of one single earthly life, which is alas a wholly mistaken assumption of the materially grounded intellect
It would gradually be confirmed that everything which enters a man's life as those seemingly small obstacles directing him to detours and to changes in his own plans works in reality with a higher and wiser plan than it can ever appear to be at first sight
And precisely such phenomena as the seemingly small working of the Aglami in the lives of men reach often into the past lives of a man and also have in view the existence which must necessarily follow after this life
They look therefore to the ennobling of human nature, which is smoothed precisely by many small happenings, much as a stone in the sea is polished under the never-ending motion of the waves
Hitherto not one of these men has ever conceded that the occasions for halting and for turning aside, which are so often brought to bear by the Aglami in human life, should have a deeper meaning, that they should perhaps lead to a wrenching out of the hurried way of living, and that they thus in fact bring into a man's life a blessing which lies in the possibility of another view of his own existence
Even if it were only the acceptance of the fact that there are influences here which are not subject to the will of man, this ought to bring about the laying aside of tension and of anger and to bring more fullness of peace in surrender to a higher will, which more advanced men call the Wisdom of God working in everything around us
This alone would have in many directions an immeasurably favourable influence upon everything in the life of man and of the whole of society
Something such, grasped voluntarily, cannot be expected of the men of today
Nevertheless it happens, and the faithful servants, the Aglami, lay with patience ever new haltings in the paths of men, thus a help which formerly, as also today, is still not understood by men
Yes, it is indeed so, and the human lack of understanding hitherto will change nothing in it
The Aglami set themselves as an unexpected obstacle in the seemingly ingeniously contrived straight paths of men, which from their point of view lead towards important aims
These aims, however, pursue for the most part only the satisfaction of the material wishes of men
Often they are also aims which by their nature run counter to the divine purpose of all development, however much men see in them their own great fulfilment
And then the Aglami work against the fulfilment of such aims of men
Thus they often shatter great human expectations by the shifting of one single smallest thing
Men then perceive their working as a cause for their discontent, and this incites them to a still higher degree of resistance, which leads even to the said state of a never-declared battle and war, which for this reason is carried on against the servants, the Aglami, by men all over the world in the highest degree of struggle
All the weapons of the intellect on the side of men are on the alert and ready to strike whenever it is only possible
The undeclared battle on the part of men has been here on earth since ancient times
Measures created by men, drawing upon intellectually technical skills, are introduced against all seeming mischief, such as the random happenings that come to men from the little Aglami
The manner of the battle changes together with the technical progress of men, although its essence remains ever the same
That is, to diminish as far as possible the influence of unforeseeable happenings in the life of man
For this men strive with the utmost ingenuity
Formerly, therefore, men subjected to their will all the working animals that served them, animals which are often precisely good instruments for the Aglami in thwarting a man's often wrong intentions through a sudden disobedience or an unexpected restiveness of the animistic soul of the animal
So it was in former times, when animals worked more, in their subjection, for human aims
Today it has shifted still more into matter itself, in which man considers himself knowledgeable and very clever, and the place of collision is now complex devices, which man considers the armament of his intellect destined for the battle with the chance occurrences of this world
The battle is thus reflected in many technical fields of human endeavour
Instead of the understanding that nothing which enters the life of man is without a reason, it leads in men only again and again to defiance, which indeed inspires progress in technical things, yet in things concerning the essence of life it causes only a greater superficiality, which may be called the intellect's incapacity to grasp the world of small things
Although in many respects it is a matter of trifles, it is something great that the Aglami through their working continually offer to men for their understanding
Besides the said smoothing they offer, after all, the possibility of recognising a wholly different kind of flowing of life upon this earth
A life which is more closely bound up with the invisible world and which also, as has already been said, reaches more into the threads coming from the past, or conversely reaching into the future
But because such a thing disturbs men in their way of life, which they consider the only right one, they cannot perceive all that is of value contained in it, let alone see or hear anything of it
Although it is continually around men, they draw nothing from it and go on ever along their self-absorbed way
Although men resist so obstinately, it is on their part a battle which they can never win against the Aglami
It is therefore only a vain battle and defiance against one who is many times more ingenious and also a thousandfold better acquainted with the ground upon which the battle is waged
And withal all the possibilities which the Aglami have are as yet far from exhausted
After reading what is set out above, many a man will think that he already knows how and where the Aglami work
He thus considers himself the more knowledgeable and does not admit that the pictures laid before him are only the first offshoots for his own spiritual work
So far, however, only the smallest part has been uncovered here of all the places where the Aglami work around us men
For example it is not known at all that the Aglami, as an in a certain sense homogeneous animistic species, can easily win over all today's small domestic animals as well and use them for their own ways, in which they wish to make plain that men are to reflect and to bow before the flowing of a will other than their own, which proceeds from a very limited human understanding of the world
As has already been mentioned, animals in general are always at hand for the Aglami whenever they can make use of their capacities to intervene in a particular way in human life
It may be said that whenever men meet with a situation in which their own domestic animal, but sometimes also another and wholly strange animal, shows some kind of extraordinary behaviour towards the person concerned, then certainly one of the Aglami stands behind it, to whom the animal is at that moment at hand in a higher kind of wisdom
The Aglami stand not only behind disobedience, but precisely also behind much behaviour which men ascribe to animals as a display of their extraordinary intelligence
In reality, however, it is rather the influence of the wise animistic on the part of some Aglam, who influences the animal in its behaviour, than that it should proceed from the animal itself
Behind such an exceptionally wise behaviour of an animal it is therefore as a rule needful to look for the effort of one of the Aglami, who at that moment acts as leader for the conduct of the animal in some matter
It holds good as a rule, then, that whether it be a favourable or on the contrary an unfavourable outward behaviour of an animal, men can as a rule very clearly recognise behind it the influence of the Aglami, who in higher wisdom guide it
There is much of which men in reality have no inkling at all
The Aglami and their influence working into the world of men is one of these unrecognised effects of the animistic labour for the Will of God here on earth
Through the Aglami there pour many offshoots of the wise Laws in Creation, which intervene in the world of men always only in a helping manner
And this even when it appears to men as unpleasant, delaying and disturbing manifestations of an unexpected kind of happening in their lives
By this the Aglami pursue, on the contrary, solely and only a leading of men towards deeper reflection and deeper intuitive perceiving
If, then, something strange happens to a man at moments when it least of all suits his earthly plans, such a man should, instead of resistance and anger, reflect and seek in it something deeper which speaks to him through the given matter
What would befit it, then, is not defiance and battle, but thanks and understanding in the uncovering of something deeper which a man could experience in it through recognition
Alas, however, defiance and battle are the first thing that arises in man towards the given matter as his answering conduct
But that is a wrong procedure, because therein lies only the confirmation of a failure to understand all the wise guidance which constantly accompanies man on his ways from the side of the animistic
Among other things, men see always only where their plans are being crossed
But wherever these animistic servants have on the contrary helped them in the most varied situations out of difficulties, perhaps even out of serious collisions, injuries or accidents, that men do not realise as a cause for a silent thanksgiving for their service
That is precisely something so greatly overlooked that it is glaringly obvious
It is also something exceedingly sad, for they were sent to help men through their kind of activity
When a man is preserved from an evil end in some matter, he generally takes it for a flicker of the favour of fate and as a rule says to himself: "I had luck today!"
Perhaps he also considers it the incomprehensible work of his guardian angel, as is generally spoken of among men
Never, however, does he reflect upon it more deeply, although precisely this reflection could bring a precious enlightenment into his life
Out of it there could arise for him the recognition that, whether this or that happens, there are always here manifestations of invisible forces which work around men for some purpose
But men do not recognise these forces, and least of all do they ask after the purpose of it all
They do not wish to occupy themselves with it, and with a wave of the hand they pass it by with the words that they have not enough time for it, that there are more important things here for them
They do not suspect that precisely the occupying of themselves with how all the things around them work would bring them far more of value than all material treasures
In it they would also swiftly recognise order and a great sense for the Justice of God, which prevails therein without exception
Then in the end they would also have to admit how foolish they have appeared to all the divine servants, who strive at every moment of their lives to lead and to direct them only along those paths which truly profit the human spirit in his ripening and in the strengthening of his joyful harmony with the whole of the work of Creation
Instead of that, however, men have long been waging an undeclared battle with all that intervenes with its unexpected turns in their narrowed view of the world
The Aglami have hitherto accepted this as the sad condition of the human spirit, who, bound with the material earthly body, becomes as a rule wholly blunted towards everything finer
With this too, in a certain detachment and also with an understanding smile, they observed the efforts of men to outwit with the intellect all the ways of intervention in human life through unexpected things small and great
Now, however, the Aglami have received the bidding in a certain sense to accept this battle of men and, under the inflow of the Light which streams ever more intensified to the earth through the Ray of Parzival, to begin acting less gently, or otherwise put more relentlessly, than has been the case throughout all the enduring millennia
The Aglami have therefore the task of bringing much that is unexpected into the lives of men, so that all those who will still be capable of it may reflect the more and awaken in the recognition of all that has hitherto escaped them in their understanding of life
It will therefore now be a battle which the Aglami accept as something that has for a long time been waged by human intellectuality against these invisible bearers of chance occurrences and strange happenings
It will come nearer to men so as to grip them, for only in distress can many a one still awaken to the understanding of how foolish has been the battle waged hitherto by men against these little animistic servants of God on earth
We may thus expect that there will now come from the side of technical things many unexpected turns through breakdowns and the most varied failures of human measures
Animals moving in the vicinity of men may likewise now be the mediators of strange manifestations before which the earthly intellect will indeed and literally come to a standstill
All this is now drawing near, so that out of the hitherto undeclared battle there may become a real battle, waged relentlessly with all the means of the Aglami
Not, however, a battle for the sake of battle, but as a way to the awakening of men who are not bad within, but are only as yet inwardly asleep
In the divine wise ordering of all happenings in the work of Creation, and thus in the end here in the earthly world also, there lies always, in all the seeming chance occurrences perceived by men, the highest Justice
And also the Loving-Kindness, which leads human spirits to recognition and enlightenment despite the fact that they themselves resist it like children who in their ease long only to lie about and do not wish to move and to learn new things
In just the same way the wise and loving hand of the Creator leads everything in man to prove its mobility, and thereby to the healing of all the limbs of the spiritual inner being
And this in spite of the initial resistance and refusal
This resistance will be overcome and broken
Precisely in this lies that declaration of battle in which the Aglami will engage with greater power in their tasks, which are shown to them by the exalted weavers of fates, the Alphar
Everywhere where in Justice a heightened pressure upon the mobility of the human spirit can be joined to the threads of fate, there will now come many unexpected turns into the hitherto tranquil flowing of the lives of many men
They can never consider it an injustice, for woven into it is precisely the Love of God, which looks further than the short earthly life of small earthly men
The Love of God directs everything towards the true goal of the human spirit, which is the fulfilment of his original wish
It pursues therefore the attaining of maturity and of inward luminosity in the awakened recognition of all the great vibrating in the Harmony of the work of Creation
Thereby the human spirit becomes truly of value for the work of Creation
Everything before that was only a more or less successful path towards this high and exalted goal
All those too who have already been permitted to attain a higher recognition see in it solely and only the great Love of God, which helps the spiritual inner being in spite of earthly discomforts
And for the fulfilment of this commission all the Aglami on earth are from this time onwards strengthened
Their time has drawn near, and everything that has hitherto helped men in the battle against them will be shaken to its foundations and will at last collapse into ruins
But at that time men will themselves already be joyful over it, because they will see how much of freedom and of true spiritual mobility lies in this collapse of the hitherto oppressive intellectual armament against all that is living in Creation, an armament which robbed even them of freshness and of ardent enthusiasm for real life
As this shows itself ever more and more, men will also be able therein to free themselves, even to the degree of a new drawing of breath in the recognition of how gloriously everything is provided for by the Creator and how in everything there lies help and strengthening for those who strive to move their intuitive perceiving
Then men will also learn to give thanks to the little divine servants, who are everywhere with them and who in reality guide their steps so that all that is pure and good may succeed for them ever more and more meaningfully in its realisation, and that they may at the same time experience therein accord with the great Harmony of the work of Creation
Only then will the concept of an Aglam or of the Aglami become rightly recognised and accepted by the majority of men dwelling upon this earth
After the battle peace will be concluded, whose permanence will lie in the hands of the men born hereafter into this gross material earthly place within the great pulsating Hermetes
Every new day is an opportunity for each of us to move nearer to the concluding of peace with the All-Wisdom of God
There is no other way, for men cannot win in this battle
If they remain in their obstinate defiance, they can attain but one single result – the forfeiture that lies in the final destruction of themselves
May therefore the spiritual spark within the greatest possible number of men now awaken and, in the new-born radiance of its brightness, blaze up to an ardent recognition of the Creator and of His glorious work
