When the Ray of God Walked Upon the Earth

THE WAY OF THE GRAIL – SUPPLEMENTARY TEXTS – December 5, 2019

Every day, every single hour, every minute may be called full of grace, when the Divine Light dwelt among men here upon the Earth

Only ponderously does earthly man perceive the gift which lay in the presence of the Divine radiation, which animated, uplifted and refreshed by its very presence, anchored in an earthly human body

The incomprehensibility lies in this spanning of the worlds, when the Living Divine, plunged from the heights into the materialities, moved forward the development of the world parts, so that the cycle of the worlds might be loosened and yield the harvest out of the spiritual seed

Full of grace was the time when the immediacy of the Divine brightness brought the sounding of the exalted Message out of the Grail, which became at once a rescuing rope and the stroke of the Holy Judgment

And the stroke of the Judgment shook this Earth and called forth a happening such as no one expected

Even now this echo sounds, borne through the spheres, and it shakes all that must awaken in order to be judged

This echo of the first touch of the ray of Light sounds like the distant dying away of thunder, and at the same time a further stroke already draws near again

The second stroke bears the bursting of the fetters and the shifting of all things

In the end both these strokes will join in the harmony of the great fulfilment, and Parzival, coming in the clouds, will bring the completion of the promise of God, so that all which still bears within it an unextinguished spark of the spirit may gather strength for a new being

Then there will descend towards the Earth the song of the blessed, who will lead the purified human spirit into the new age

Through the worlds there still descends now the last call to the human spirit “Awaken, awaken, O man!”

The exalted animistic servants cast the forces of their working into the universe, and towards the Earth there now rolls a wave which will bring a change of the existing cycle of life, a cycle which for most men has become so accustomed as though it were something that could never again be shaken in its foundations

Thus precisely the present time upon the Earth is in many ways heavier for man, for the Divine is not within the earthly, as was the case in the time of the first fulfilment full of grace

Yet the helps remain, and in their luminous stream they flow down again and again into the palms of those who strive to catch them for themselves and for others

Whoever purifies his inner being and raises his spirit so that his dealings lead to the fulfilment of an intuitively perceptive, noble conduct towards others, he will be surrounded by the protection and the blessing of the Light in all moments

Out of this protection, however, he is not to step even for the briefest moment, for outside this circle he is not protected by the Light

To be protected by the Light does not mean, however, to be earthly invulnerable, or to remain aside from sicknesses, or to free oneself from one day to the next from all that is unpleasant and presses upon man, but always and solely all protection out of the Light belongs first and foremost to his inner being – to the spirit

In the earthly much may find itself in the protection of the Light, but everything is never to be expected, for many earthly influences and also the unwatchfulness of man, even though he himself may hold these to be the smallest, not seldom bring about a turning aside of this protection

Also some happenings, directed by the Divine All-Wisdom, may appear at the first glance as though in the earthly a protection of a high kind had been lost

That is because the higher circle of the threads pursues aims of a spiritual kind and not in the first place earthly calm and contentment

Let man therefore not deceive himself with the foolishness of some of his conceptions about the protection out of the Light

With joy let him receive it as a gift that the most precious thing – his spirit – can be protected surely and safely, if he holds lastingly within himself purity and the bright gleam of his flame

It is the spirit which can remain in the protecting circle that now descends to him in the radiation of the ray of Parzival

All that is contained therein earthly man will esteem only long afterwards, when he may ascend through the ethereal spheres towards his home in the Light

The earthly is now a field which is passing through the harvest

One fulfilment of the threads of fate follows upon another

Decades ago there was called into life by men here upon the Earth, over against the Divine, that which will now return and fulfil itself with every one, even though it should be balanced out by the smallest symbolic happening

Faithfulness to the Light is the best way for this one or that one to stand firm in the returning happening

In purity and alertness of the inner being let us bear within us the attunement of a helping joy, for therein lies true faithfulness to the Light and therewith also faithfulness to the Lord
