THE WAY OF THE GRAIL – SUPPLEMENTARY TEXTS – May 10, 2021

An important connecting thread to the Creator and to the Grail, as the starting point of all Life in the work of Creation, is on man's part faith and a whole inner trust in the Light and in its victory in all matters

This thread of trust needs to be a firm bond, unshakable by anything, which shines in man like a flame blazing continually upwards

Only such a bond, nourished by an ever new inner joy of man in life, mediates a connection strong enough for miraculous happenings to come to man along it

Whether it be help in the utmost need in some situation, healing, or the finding of a way out in a decision of life, all of it can come to man precisely through his inner openness and his trust in the wise guidance from the Light towards the attaining of everything right that may come

Help for man, however, can come only through his purest trust in the working of God's loving power and of the Light

This trust needs to be pure and unconditional in the experiences of life, because only such trust will bring to the spirit of man certainty in the conviction of God and of His Will, which works upon everything in Creation through the wise, primordially eternal Laws that permeate all places and all happenings of life

Here, however, we find a great pitfall, for in the confusion of earthly events many a man not seldom wavers and loses his trust, and often in his difficulties supposes far too quickly that he has been left alone, that the Light does not protect him sufficiently and that the luminous servants do not help him

He feels himself forsaken, and in this forsakenness he doubts the Light

Most often this state is caused in man by his own intellect, and through the intellect by the darkness working there, which seeks to shake the inner trust of the spirit striving towards the Light

Distrust in God's help comes through the intellect and its processes of thought

Out of a spirit which has once strongly awakened and has recognised the Light distrust can never come, for such a spirit in its living perceiving always finds the connection with the Light, unless indeed the spirit grows rigid again and falls asleep in its inner movement

Only when the spirit falls asleep and grows lukewarm, only in such a state can it forget the Light, and the wise Laws of God which influence everything in Creation and therefore life here on earth as well

There are therefore two reasons when man experiences within himself the state of having no trust in the help and the protection from the Light

It is the rankly overgrown intellect, and also lukewarmness, or perhaps the complete sleep of the spirit

These are the greatest enemies of man striving in gross materiality towards the Light

He is therefore to be on his guard if he senses that these chief enemies can still draw near to him on his way

It is to rouse in him all his will towards the movement of the liveliness of the spirit

That these are the greatest enemies is evident, because where man gives up his own spiritual alertness and lets himself be swallowed up by a merely material view of the world, there devastation at once enters into the receptivity for finer impressions, and a cooling, or even a coarsening, of the intuitive vibration takes place

Joyfulness and kindheartedness are lost to man, he becomes moody, and he is easily irritated by things which otherwise his spirit in pure childlikeness would have passed by entirely

It appears to him as though the world and many men, indeed the whole of mankind, had conspired against him in hostility

His life turns into an artificially nourished struggle with the darkness which brings difficulties to his path of life, without which, as he supposes, he would be speeding splendidly upwards on luminous waves, like a light air balloon

He is not aware, however, that by directing himself towards the darkness he has gradually bred in himself an oversensitivity which encircles him like a noose of thoughts, with no hope of a way out

Everything that stands in his way and that a fresh spirit would hold to be easy to overcome, he holds to be an attack of dark forces

Thus many men have let their spirit fall asleep and live in their own worlds of their seeming greatness for the Light

In their attunement they also become, without being aware of it, alas, co-nourishers of the darkness spoken of, towards which they direct the greater part of their daily time

In such a state it is then no wonder that everything more luminous must lawfully flee from such men, and that in the end they really remain surrounded only by their own products, the gloom of dark attacks and hostilities

Lamentable is the state of many men, out of which they cannot free themselves because they have lost the direction towards liberation

And yet a single joyful thought would suffice for the awakening of the flame of the spirit, which would at once intuitively sense the helps of the Light working everywhere around him

This state described causes an ever greater distrust in all that is higher and more luminous, and the consequence of it is a gradual fall into a narrowing of receptivity, out of which it is then not easy to come up again

Every returning step upwards costs much strength and demands a great struggle

All this happens needlessly, for the connection with the Light is laid from the beginning in every spark of the spirit which immerses itself in the materialities on the way to its development

That for which many fight in their earthly struggle, and also in the ethereal worlds through heavy experiences, pains and illnesses, need not have been hard at all, because it would have sufficed to look up continually in childlike trust to the Light and to let themselves be guided by it in the important moments of life

Childlikeness and kindheartedness are the foundation of pure trust in the Light and in God's help

Spiritual movement rests in reality upon the measure of kindheartedness, not upon an intellectual knowledge of God and of His Creation

Only the joining of kindhearted intuitive perceiving and experiencing with the knowledge of Creation makes man truly ripe and wise

The knowledge of the Truth, bringing the recognition of the highest happenings of God's working in the work of Creation, can anchor itself rightly in man only in connection with intuitive perception and joyful childlikeness

Where childlikeness and kindheartedness are lacking, there the foundation is lacking, and although man has knowledge he is an empty fruit in Creation, because the real vibration of life does not pulsate through him

His recognition of the Truth through the intellect will also not give him trust in the Light, because this recognition has its failures in those most important moments when the further path of man is being decided

These are the moments in which he is to prove his trust in the Light and in its victorious working in Creation

In such moments, however, the intellect fails and shows distrust in this victory

It is because it yields to intellectual rationality, which appears nearer to it

Thus the intellect always fails in trust in the Light when it is to prove its complete faith in the victory of good there where some happening has as yet no earthly graspable and clearly visible outcome in advance

Where a childlike, open spirit goes forward with trust, there the intellect wavers and most often fails

Whoever, however, is sufficiently and healthily strong in spirit and bears within him that lastingly firm trust in the victory of the Light, his spirit finds itself at the same time in the highest movement, and neither rigidity nor a domination of the intellectual kind threatens him

Alas, of men who master the power of their intellect with the spirit there is only a small number, for here on earth we are exposed during the whole time of our daily waking to the radiation of the brain in the learned manner of thinking and reasoning

The intellect runs in its own tracks and draws all the attention of man to the results of its work

It is the danger of that hereditary sin spoken of

Through thoughts the intellect then leads the volition of the spirit into its own rails and makes most decisions weakened and deflected from the original purity which flared up in the flash of the volition of the spirit

That this is so we can observe more than a hundred times a day

Only a little attentiveness suffices for us to detect the craftiness of the intellect

Let us take here only one or two examples

The first example is the answer to the question whether man for his part can change anything in the great course of the present ordering of the world

With the greatest certainty most men will answer no, for they hold themselves to be far too small and weak to be able to change anything in the present course

That this answer was insinuated by the intellect, as the product of all hostility towards the more luminous spiritual volition, which resists any change leading towards the Light, is more than evident, for a living spirit would at once agree that it is ready in any place to lend a hand to the change, and would therefore without hesitation confirm that it is convinced of its own possibility of bringing to the present world a shift towards the better

We might perhaps also receive from some an assenting answer in which they would confirm that they can change something, but on going deeper we would quickly discover that their trust in this change is corroded the moment it comes to a concrete explanation of the manner of changing the world

With the description of the picture of how we can change the world for the better, childlike simplicity and enthusiasm begin to fade away in many, and thus the subsequent transposing into concrete deeds comes gradually to be ruled by the intellect again, which sooner or later brings a weakening

And yet a spirit that has become luminous within knows that in any place where man finds himself he can and shall change the world for the better by his living attitude alone

His inner will, his enthusiasm for the change towards the better, and above all his complete trust in the Light which brings this change, is in itself already a strongly effective share in the directing of the world towards the better

He does not need in the least, therefore, to build within himself a paralysing obstacle through thoughts that the world is a place where nothing can be changed towards a better development

Whoever spreads such undermining thoughts shares in the hopeless attunement not only of himself but also of millions of other men upon whom he works through such thoughts

The second example is the healing of some illness which man bears upon his body

The question whether man can be healed through his trust in the Light would with most men soon bear the mark of intellectual doubt

It is because the intellect again often sets before man its own conclusions about the course of the illness and admits nothing else which could enter into that course as a miraculous help from the Light

If, however, the answer were yes, that healing is possible, then the question arises why the healing has not already come about, if that healing is conditioned by complete trust in the help from the Light

It is because deep in the thoughts of man a dam is built which undermines an important part of the childlike trust in the inflow of healing power from the Light

Often then a deep shock, or a trust strengthened by another person, breaks through these walls of a thinking which has its foundations in a far too deeply rooted material view of life

Fear too paralyses in this matter and has its share in the growing hopelessness in the matter of healing

And yet a strong bridge to the Light is offered here, which rests in the pure, childlike surrender into the hands of Maria – the Love-filled Rose working in the Grail

Whoever connects himself with Maria can at once in his trust intuitively sense a strengthening from the coming healing help of God, which the inflow of Love brings

This channel stands ever open, yet it is not used, because men do not know of it, or have formed no trust at all that by this way a helping healing could come to them

Here again trust is undermined in the help which comes to man precisely through the flowing of the Love of God in Creation

Thousands of men wander in their search for help, while they have at hand the strongest gift – the knowledge that Maria as the Love of God works here in Creation as the Rose in the Grail

It is the intellect of otherwise knowing men that has corroded this gift, and the spirit has let the darkness take from it this precious help bestowed by God upon mankind

The concentrated power of the intellect was directed towards the undermining of this gift, which is nevertheless conditioned by a childlike, trusting opening of the spiritual inner being towards this abiding help

Soon, however, a change will have to come in this, so that mankind may reach the real helps which can always come only from the Light, from the Grail, where hosts of thousands of radiant helpers in the levels of Creation form downwards the chains of healing and strengthening Light which lead help to everyone who asks for it truly and fervently

The condition for the connection with this help rests in one thing only, yet for many men in the hardest thing of all – in complete trust in the possibility of this help and in the victory of the Light

Today we find ourselves in a state of complete devastation of man's trust in the Light and in its victory

Even men who have the knowledge of the Truth stand in this as though paralysed, without liveliness and mobility of their own

Surrounded by gifts of an unprecedented kind, and with the knowledge of the exalted happenings in Creation and above Creation, they stand here paralysed, without the strength needed to break through all the barriers of distrust

Far too easily they let their trust in the highest helps be taken from them by those who may be called robber knights, who took away hope from all who sought help in the difficulties of their life or in healing

Far too easily they let the most precious jewel be sullied, which for them rests in the knowledge of Maria, the Love of God in the Grail working into Creation

Already today all this should have been otherwise, filled with the joyful working of those men who would stride forward helping themselves and others through trust in the healing and victorious Light in their nearness

Instead of that there is here only a gloom filled with groping and straying, which only weakens and paralyses

Away with it at last

The Light is to be in the nearness of those who look up freely and unhampered towards the Grail, as pure men, open with full trust in its helps

The Grail – that is a concept whose meaning men have not yet rightly intuitively sensed, nor have they recognised its inexhaustible greatness and power in Creation

The Grail is life, it is the starting point of all happenings in Creation, which always at the right time take shape and fulfil themselves in order to become reality even in the most distant parts of the worlds

For this, however, the real faith in its help, its healing and its victory here on earth needs to come alive in the men who know of the Grail

Not in order that with this knowledge those who are ignorant should be judged and condemned, as is so often done in an expression of unripeness, but on the contrary in order that bridges may be built for all who are awakening within

It is surely no trust in the Light, and least of all anything that the mighty power of the Grail asks of knowing men, if the weaker are attacked

And ignorance may be called weakness

In the first place there is to be help, which is given in one's own overcoming of laziness and indolence

Help which in its living, creative flowing to the earth sets in motion miraculous happenings that until now had continually to remain without beneficial effect, because much distrust on the part of knowing men did not allow those helps to be brought to the earth from the Grail which can be mediated only through the living spiritual participation of earthman

The greatness and the effectiveness of these forces is, in man's comprehension, unimaginable, miraculous

Nevertheless it is here at hand for everyone who keeps within himself spiritual childlikeness and the kindhearted will to help other men on their way in the seeking of God and of the Light

It is in fact the simplest effect of the great Law of God's grace, of the balance in giving and taking, which was given to men for their way through the materialities

At any time they can lay hold of it with a fervent call of their inner being

Just as with a switch it is possible by a single turn to set going the mighty helping forces of electricity, so it is likewise possible to bring to the earth the incomparably higher forces of the Light

The switch which makes this possible is the complete and all-carrying trust of the human spirit in the Light and in its victory on earth

So simple it is, and man does not see it

Therefore he gropes even where, figuratively, he stands on a place irradiated by the Light, because he has let the intellect force upon him the picture that he is surrounded by a hopelessness barren of the Light and therefore cannot easily lay hold of anything higher

The helps, however, are around him in every direction in which he may look

He has around him continually the faithful helpers of the exalted Herfeline, who works in her animistic kind in the direct ray of the Rose

She is the emissary of the Rose of the Grail for earthmen, and her appearing has many a time already been able to connect itself with great helps and healings of those who asked

It is not Herfeline, however, who brings about the healing, but it is only the expression of her faithful service filled with obliging kindliness, in that she herself draws the power for it in turn through Herferide in Valhalla, who is the mediator of the currents coming directly from Maria's blessing hands in the Grail

There is no need, however, to occupy oneself with this for the understanding of all the happenings working therein, for it fully suffices man to rejoice in it and to draw strength for his existence, because thus it was arranged for him in the Wisdom and the Love of God the Father

Men who have the knowledge of the Message of the Grail could have known of this long ago, yet what have they done with it

The great gift which was shown to them for their help in healing, many have culpably trampled underfoot and stifled through the shaking of distrust in the Rose of the Love of God in the Grail

In addition to that they have experienced and still experience pride in their supposed knowledge, which is, however, only an unripe fumbling after holy concepts in Creation

Nevertheless they too will remember, when the hour of their need comes to them

And this hour will surely come, as it has already come into the nearness of many who went before them and found themselves all at once in places which cast them down in the ethereal worlds

There, in the awakening of their souls, they asked in new recognition for help and for forgiveness

Their pride melted away as swiftly as wax in the noonday sun, for the intellect, which had held them on earth in the supposition of greatness, had suddenly forsaken them

And to the joy of themselves and of their many helpers, one luminous thread of help after another was permitted to draw near to them again by degrees

The Light had not cast them off, nor had it forsaken them, but help came to them from that starting point of Love which they had reviled and sullied on earth

What shame permeated them, how these souls blushed in the deepest abashment at the recognition of their former earthly intellectual folly, which had once appeared to them as a sign of the mobility of their spirit

For it was the ray sent out from the heights of the Grail, from the Rose, which they had before trampled underfoot on earth, that brought them help

Seeing in retrospect how much harm was thereby done, they strive in pain to change something in it

But it cannot be done easily, and much must they suffer through in it, for they see what helping forces must be lost today, although they could long since have been helping thousands of men in the awakening of their souls

Every day on which something in this is changed for the better on earth is a liberation for them too, and they may then all the more joyfully praise the Light, for they recognise that the immeasurableness of the Love of God surpasses all human comprehension

They rejoice in it and strive all the more to mediate helps to the men on earth who still grope today and cannot find within themselves the simple power of trust in the great working of the Light, to which the helping currents of the Love of Maria, the Rose, inseparably belong

Maria appears at the side of Parzival in His Ray above the earth and works healingly and helpingly in the happening which fulfils itself to the help of all who now look up with trust towards the Light

The Grail sends out thousands of helps, and the condition of their effectiveness is the purest inner ground in man

Where there is kindheartedness and a pure will for the awakening of the flame of the spirit, there the helps from the Light can now come for strengthening
