The World as It Will Be

THE WAY OF THE GRAIL – SUPPLEMENTARY TEXTS – September 19, 2022

The world towards which everything now hastens will be a world more intuitive and more vividly experienced by the inner being of every man in the present moment

It will be a world in which a higher receptivity for goodness will be awakened, which will become the primary ground of all the actions of men

Goodness ennobled to the highest fervour and to a pure flaming of the spirit will become man's own only in the coming time, when through repeated experiencing they will learn to recognise that the bestowing of gracious kindness upon their fellow-men is what the Will of God requires of them as the condition for ascent to the gates of the spiritual home

Through this manner of life the spirit will also learn rightly to recognise and to experience the Laws of Creation and will clearly behold in them the wisdom of the Primordially Eternal Will of the Creator, for then joy and strengthening refreshment for ascent will be able to return to him continually through these Laws

This approach of the future world to present-day mankind, which is no longer even able to realise how strongly it is marked by the pride and vanity of the intellect, will bring a necessary collision

In the thousands of motives of the smallest action during a single day there is contained in men today vanity and pride, through which the intellect endeavours to appear outwardly as an all-controlling master trained by life

This mastery, however, is only apparent, for every victory of vanity and pride bears within it at the same time the aftertaste of opposition to the real life, which lies in the sharing of goodness and joy with the other creatures in Creation

The intellect can be overcome only by the spirit through its kindheartedness and its trustful fidelity in following the Light

But the spirit in the earthly body is today generally not so strong as to outweigh its day-consciousness with the spiritual will to pure harmony

And yet only this direction of volition can help man to hold himself above the searingly flaring vibrations of the omnipresent vanity which drives present-day man to excel above the rest of the world

Even if it were only for a tiny moment, even if it were a matter of only a single wounding word which brings a supposed victory over another person, nevertheless everything in man today is driven by the will of the intellect to a vain proving of his own greatness and superiority over others

This vain and proud volition is contained in everything

Over a long time it has so strongly suppressed the kindhearted disposition of the spirit, which lies in its inner spark, that the spirit itself has become wholly enfeebled for an effective working in the day-consciousness

The spirit is not strong enough to hold out against the compulsive forcefulness of the vain volition to obtain what the intellect and its soul weaknesses have devised in the striving to attain victory over others at any price, even at the price of causing pain to those around it

The pure will to goodness is undermined by weaknesses which continually prevail over the inner brightness of the spiritual flame itself, which has allowed its day-consciousness to be far too much dominated by the animal of the intellect

And therefore, if man now looks forward to the approaching events, everything is filled with the bitterness of wormwood, for first of all he will have to reap all that was sown, all that entered into the threads of fate out of his volition hitherto, in order to recognise therein the terrible error of his previous thinking about life

It towers before him like the ridge of a high mountain range which every man will have to surmount in order to continue further, but which cannot be crossed, but can only be dissolved in a newly established fervent volition for goodness

And thus precisely that which lies before the majority of men and which so many subconsciously fear will at the same time be, in the experiencing, a great school for the new world lying beyond the mountain range of bitterness

Even now it is made possible in every day to enter the simple school of life for the new world

In every moment it is possible to recognise that the promised new world will be a place in which only that will endure which springs from the inner striving of the spirit through its endeavour to create a living connection with the finer planes of the work of Creation, thereafter maintained forever

For this, however, it is first necessary to grasp in what places within man vanity lurks, and the proud volition to be regarded as cleverer than others even in the smallest moments of the day

It is an almost laughable happening for the helpers of the Light when they must continually observe how the human intellect and also immature and impure motives of the soul endeavour in man at any price to extort by their cunning the dominion over the pure radiation of the spirit itself

So deeply is it ingrained in the coverings of the souls of some people that it constricts them and they have not the strength to get past it to the experiencing of genuine joy, which can come to them only in harmonious accord with the Laws of Creation

In these Laws, however, there streams the highest vitality, and this is therefore most needed for the lasting striving of the spirit, that it may learn to recognise what that weaving of goodness within these Laws is

And it is not difficult at all if the spirit, through its purest longing for the Light, is guided by a receptivity for each single moment which it is permitted to experience

The lessening of self and the will to accord with the Laws of Creation, even at the price of having to begin again and again almost from the very beginning, that is the real fulfilment of the meaning of life

At the same time, however, an inner joyful enthusiasm for each new day is to flame within

Again and again to set about the work of one's own continuing, so that the new day may become better than the one before, recognising therein the great gift of existence which is bestowed upon the human spirit out of the graciousness of the Creator

And in this attunement and in creating with others a progress which in everything heeds the receptive listening to the wisdom of the helpers of the animistic and of the spiritual kind lies the ascending development for the individual and also for earthly mankind as a whole

It is needful to ask inwardly and to seek patiently in what places and in what form the answers to the living questions put from within the spirit will reveal themselves

That important accord with the animistic creating surely preserves the possibility of development in a lasting ascent without the threat of an unexpected collapse

Everywhere where men here on earth closely interweave with the work of the animistic kind, everywhere there it is necessary to look first to the perception of accord and thereby also of support on the part of the animistic servants

Where this is lacking, there always threatens, after a certain time, the collapse and disintegration of the path created by man on his own

To ask about many things in advance before they are begun, and yet at the same time to bring into everything the highest vitality of movement, that is the condition for the blessed ripening and ascent of the human spirit and of all his works on this earth

And this is now the requirement for everyone who longs one day to live and to work in the new time of the earthly world

The earthly world will be such

The question is which man will be able to be in this new world

This now lays upon him the demand of the most difficult decision

Either to remain in the old disposition, in which the prevailing evil endures through the insufficient living penetration of the kindly nobility of the spirit outwards, or to set all his inner strength to the acquiring of a new attitude towards life

The new means the abandoning of the paths of the dominion of the intellect and also the freeing of oneself from the weaknesses lodged in the coverings of the soul

These are still today that greatest obstacle towering between earthman and the new world

And it is indeed a mountain range of bitterness which needs to be inwardly recognised, accepted and, through the glowing of the spirit, dissolved into a new state of being

So much to which this or that person clings in the belief that it is an inseparable part of his personality stems from the dominion of the vain influence of the intellect

When he gives it up in favour of a lessening of self and a pure longing for accord with the great harmony of the work of Creation, then he will recognise what the real nature of his personality is

Only then will all the glorious qualities of his spirit also come forth, which in their manifestations had hitherto to be merely distorted through the forms of the intellect, which wished to make of them nothing but a foundation for its own pride and conceit

With humility and inner purity this unlovely dominion will crumble, and out of the ruins of the vanity of the intellect that real beauty of man's inner being will then be permitted to come forth

Only then will the real beauty of the spiritual personality be permitted to bring bright and untroubled joy to others and at the same time also to itself

And there is infinitely more, for by acquiring this attitude there will open to the spirit an influx of forces which it was hitherto permitted to use only weakly and incidentally, similarly to as if until now only the shade had been a strengthening for it and not the sun itself

The radiant light will enter fully into him and with a stormy upheaval will bring him in life everything which he could not even imagine could still come to him

All this will so irradiate the spirit that the weaknesses of the soul and the rule of the intellect will burn away like inferior slag in the glow of the flaming genuineness of a joyful inner being

These are those conditions for the new life

Upon these foundations will vibrate that world which is to come

And nothing will change this, not even the fact that hitherto no one is quite able to imagine it

But it is only the intellect and its working in the day-consciousness that creeps into the thoughts that something of the kind is not possible

Indeed, that it is wrong and that it is a weakness which sounds in it along with that kindheartedness

The intellect at once calls for proofs and also for the person concerned to look about the surrounding world, which still today denies anything of the kind

This, however, serves only to bring about a weakening within man, which is again to drag down in him the will to something higher and nobler

But that which is at stake is the life of the spirit, which needs to rise to a new dimension of existence here on earth

For some time now the spirit has been rejecting the delusion and deceit from the fabric of the intellect, but it needs to grow stronger and to gain in inner certainty

Let it therefore be confirmed to it that the coming world builds everything precisely and solely upon the nature of his own pure, inwardly uncorrupted spirit and not upon the skills of the mastery of the intellect, nor upon his soul defects and weaknesses, from which he can quickly recover if this be the genuine longing of his inner being

The spirit needs to free itself also in the day-consciousness and to strip off the forms of the intellect which always, even in the smallest thing, such as for instance the wearing of a garment or even merely the raising of a spoon or a cup to the lips, endeavour to manifest their vanity and to prove their elevation above others

But this is something that will be entirely forgotten, for the Light demands of man, through the Laws of Creation, purity and simple genuineness and not poses or the artificial evoking of impressions of greatness

All the so-called social poses will now gradually be recognised under the Ray of Purity and, in their fullness of pride, will become visibly ugly

Men will literally want to tear these forms from themselves, so that they may cling to them no longer, for these forms will become for man the proof that he still clings to the old and that he is threatened with plunging into ruin

But to remove these forms, glued into the thinking of man through the wrongly working intellect and also through the lingering impurities of the soul, will be possible only through the living radiance of the spirit

No other way will be possible, and the unlovely forms of bearing and conduct bound up with an acquired intellectualism will remain with man continually, to manifest themselves always at the least suitable moment

It will be the proverbial contest between the spirit and the intellect with all the weaknesses of man in the struggle for dominion over the earthly body

Out of this contest there is only then to arise a new human existence which will find its place in

the approaching world

It is the contest of the spirit for dominion over the coverings which were to have been a support to it, but which became for it an obstacle in the ascent upwards towards the Light, because it left them, too long and too foolishly, free room to be overgrown with impurities which finally settled in and began to gain the upper hand over the spirit itself

Now the spirit needs to return all this to the original conditions, in which it alone in its spirituality is to rule all its coverings by its radiance

But alas this does not succeed easily for it, for the soul and the body resist it through fixed forms and on account of their own too deeply ingrained wishes

The spirit, however, is stronger than they precisely through the will to goodness and also in its capacity to hold within itself trust in God's loving-kind help

Therein lies for it the promise of victory, however much it will have to pass through many bitternesses in recognising how deeply unlovely and impure qualities have eaten into its coverings

And this contest awaits to a certain degree every man, for no one is entirely exempt from the dominion of the intellect, and many a one also carries his soul habits from past periods of his existence

Far too much clings to man without his himself yet fully admitting it

The small and the smallest thing, which is perhaps perceived by him as part of his personality here on earth, often proceeds only from the intellectual motives of vanity, which conceals itself in the volition to be regarded before men and before the world as something more than what he really is within

To accept this recognition is the most difficult and the most bitter thing, however much for the spirit it is the most precious progress forward, and the one most fervently implored by it within

The spirit desires that the will of its nature of goodness should penetrate more strongly also into its own day-consciousness, and it will make itself small, for even now it recognises in flashes this one path which is possible for its ascent

In humility before God, His Laws and before the whole work of Creation the spirit longs to manifest its joy that it is permitted to be a tiny part in this glorious work of God, in which a place is prepared for it for eternal working in creative happiness

And this joyfulness needs to soak into the day-consciousness and by its radiance to let dissolve all the assumptions about one's own greatness, all the artificial endeavours after one's own superiority, all the basenesses and impurities which hinder it in the free awareness of itself

To be one simple human spirit who is aware of his own littleness and is open to learn anew the knowledge of the world and of the whole work of Creation in experiencing through the receptivity of his intuitive perception

The spirit longs to be a worthy inhabitant of the work of Creation, to have a share in the co-creating of beauty and harmony in union with all the other creatures which work and serve beside it and above it in the great work of Creation

To learn this in graciousness and in constant lessening of self, that is, in humility, will be the whole content of the earthly world which is already drawing near under the Will of God

It will be a world of a new humanity in which everything evil and impure will be past and where the people who are permitted to dwell in it will be, from within outwards, always the same, without dissimulation, without conceit and without the need to exalt themselves and to gain advantages over others regardless of whether this hurts and harms the rest

Precisely through the experiencing of a liberated intuitive perceiving, deformed by nothing, will all men be enabled to realise in time that many motives are not creative and that they defile man even by their faint vibrations alone

It will be perceived as strongly as the soiling of an outer festive garment by gross material dirt is perceived today, if perhaps in the future a man should ever catch himself weighing such paths of thinking towards his fellow-men and towards the whole harmony of the work of Creation

Yes, today something of the kind would still lead to smiles and also to the thought that such a person is a fool who stands against himself

But here there is no speaking of the present time, but of the world as it will be, in which precisely those who today would mock all this and make fun of purely striving people will no longer be

They will be elsewhere, not on this earth

And it will then depend only upon themselves whether in their inner being there awakens even at the last moment a flash of intuitive recognition of how greatly they erred throughout the whole time of their existence

It will also be made easier for them, for they themselves will be unveiled in the distances of the lower planes and the actual garment of their spirit will appear flimsy and wretched

It will rest with themselves alone whether they will wish to see themselves with the eye of their spiritual spark, or whether the will of their flimsy soul will even so still be the stronger in its obdurate assumption of a certain lordliness in that they are more than the rest and are seen by themselves as rulers, men of wealth, kings, queens, or perhaps even gods or goddesses

The despair surrounding them will still be a help to them, until the pressure of the further development brings them to be marked as wholly unneeded for the living weaving of the work of Creation and the hands appointed thereto push them still lower towards places in which the consciousness of the soul can no longer endure and crumbles into nothingness, so that the inner spiritual core may in the dissolution rise, again unconscious, upwards towards the homogeneous places of the spiritual nebulae

But right up to that stage there is always much help prepared for the soul, in which the spiritual spark hidden within it can still awaken and with the greatest strength grasp the helps that enable it to begin the ascent, if there is still room enough for its completion

The new world as it will come will become an opportunity for the ripening of many souls which lost themselves in entanglement on their path, but nevertheless still awakened in the longing for a new manner of their existence

If they become luminous enough to be able then to draw near to the earth, they will still be permitted to incarnate here, in order to learn to live rightly in conditions freed from the false principle of temptation

Thereby this world will at last gain the fulfilment for which it was destined from the beginning

It will become a place for human spirits glowing through with pure humility, that they may learn here to create together with others such a place for life as will be in lasting accord with the other parts of the work of Creation

Thereby lasting peace will arise on this earth and all the spiritual strength of individuals will be devoted to the inner recognition of the Creator and of His work

At the same time this knowledge will at once be recast as kindly and wise help for all who will also need to learn to recognise the Laws of Creation

The concepts of spirit, soul and above all of Paradise, as the spiritual home of pure and blissful human spirits, will become the most natural part of the day-consciousness of mankind

Everything connected with it will be an impulse to a still greater inner comprehension and application in the everyday co-operation of men

And over everything there will arch a pure, joyful prayer of thanks to the Creator, fervently experienced by every single inner being

Such will be the world which is now drawing near to this earth in the threads of the weavers
