For most men it is still a great question whether anything such as that power of healing magnetism, invisible to earthly eyes, has any effect at all

Many men have lasting doubts about it

And if a man does admit that something such as the healing power of magnetism really works, then at once the searching question of the intellect offers itself to him, how then all this works, when it cannot be caught and measured with gross material instruments

Although all this is a more than crystal-clear happening which proceeds from the most natural effects of the Laws of Creation, yet, because it is a matter of something invisible to earthly senses, it remains for many men something incomprehensible

Therefore all too often there develop around it doubts enough, which weaken the effects and thereby the hope of many who would otherwise receive it with trust

There is even talk of deception, and generally something so valuable as that which comes to men through healing magnetism is dragged down by intellectually ponderous materialists

Often it is done only so that all attention may as far as possible always be turned away from it and that no way of help be sought therein

The endeavour to cast doubt is visibly conspicuous

If men only reflected a little, they could perceive in this very thing the way, for where the intellect attacks and strives all too doggedly to lower something by mockery, or where the attack is made without objectivity by lying and by distorting the connections, there worth and nobility of character of a higher, even supra-earthly kind may be expected almost with certainty

Alas, a great part of men, in their superficiality, let themselves be influenced almost unbelievably easily

However much they of themselves would receive something supra-earthly, yet through the long-continued working of the public media, or also through the influence of those close to them whom they hold to be more knowing in life, they then reject many things which could be of help to them

It is sad, but here again the result holds good – what harm is caused to those who succumb to men wholly fallen prey to the material intellect

The result is then only that, however much healing magnetism is received by a part of men, the majority nevertheless have not the courage to ask further, more deeply

Therefore there is so much that is unknown around all this

It is so great an unknown that a great part of men, a short time after meeting with something of the kind, sink back into the inertia of the thinking of the majority and, with a wave of the hand, endeavour to forget their previous experiences

At most they let fall the belittling words that between heaven and earth there is much that is unknown

Thereby it seems to them that they have once more succeeded in coming to terms with something whose foundation lies above this world

And alas, they succeed in it all too easily

For this reason alone it still holds good that men do not in many respects occupy themselves seriously enough with the things that really help, to which healing magnetism belongs, but, influenced by the opinion of the majority, they often look upon healing magnetism as deception and charlatanry

Yet everything contained in the actual happening of healing magnetism takes place continually around us and within ourselves, thus repeatedly, in every moment again and again

The human body heals itself in the form of self-healing continually in every moment of its duration

This comes from its animistic nature, wherein the anchored unconsciously animistic radiation which is found in the cell of the human body itself works at the receiving of the forces of life from the heights of Creation

However incomprehensible this is for human material thinking, from the standpoint of the higher working of the forces it is all magnificently and wisely arranged

Healing is therefore a happening which rests upon the principle of man's opening himself to the streaming of the Aether

Where the streaming is made possible, there under the influx of the Aether an adjustment of all the unbalanced forces in man takes place, and thereby healing comes about

Whether it takes place more swiftly or slowly, the healing comes as soon as on the part of man there is an opening to the streaming of the Aether

The opening to the Aether is therefore the wholly fundamental condition

And the measure of the opening is also that which influences the swiftness and the measure of the strength of the effect

This comes about because the forms of thought, like everything else, need to be set into movement, in which precisely the attraction of the healing power of the Aether takes place

It is therefore not only a question of submitting to the treatment, but in the whole inner disposition of man a movement needs to arise, which rests precisely in this, that he receives this power, because he is open to it in childlike pure trust

The exalted servant of Valhalla, Herfeline, leads to that man who has in trust opened himself to the awareness that he can be healed of his sickness the streaming of the healing forces, which at once furnish strengthening to the unconsciously animistic dwelling in the cells of the body and in whole parts of the digestive organs

In a single moment everything can thus at once work for man and for the change of his condition for the better

The origin of the fundamental movement in man is trust and openness, which are of themselves joined in the inner being with the childlike simplicity of the spiritual spark

And precisely childlikeness and simplicity in the comprehension of the whole course of the world is that mighty power in man which opens everything needful for the streaming of the Aether

Men are not at all aware how, precisely through the state of their long-continued mistrust of the Light, a strong and weakening mistrust of its creative power and wisdom, which for a great part of men has become their own kind of thinking, they turn away from themselves the unimaginably beneficent effects of a great power which could otherwise stream into all the parts of the coverings of their spirit

It could therefore in the end even continually renew all the organs of the earthly body in such a manner that sicknesses as we know them today would not arise at all

The end of the earthly existence of man would then come about in such a way that the soul would be wholly ready to advance further, and in consequence the influx of energy for the material covering would begin to weaken

Thereby the gradual loosening of the soul of man would take place, until with full ease, released from everything earthly, he could advance upon the further way through the ethereal planes

There too he would be supported by the power of the Aether, which, however, would manifest itself in quite different happenings than is the case here in gross materiality

In the ethereal planes the Aether appears directly as a form of Light which, upon everyone who rightly opens himself to it, works as a magnetically attracting and therefore always uplifting, strengthening atmosphere of space

In the planes whose translucence and lightness can only with difficulty be described for earthly comprehension, the Aether works as an omnipresent driving power which nevertheless works quietly and gently in the unfolding of ever new and new beauty

And therein at the same time is contained the healing and restoring might which, in the strengthening from the servant Herfeline, grants to all souls that are permitted to come into these planes a fulfilment with inner happiness

Thereby souls are healed which perhaps once had to experience in the worlds of gross materialities suffering which was caused to them by those who in their ways of acting deviated from the Light

But quite similarly it is here on Earth also

In order that the healing of bodily sicknesses may come about and that thereafter the permanence of the healing may be preserved, it holds good that here too this or that wound of the soul must always first be healed, so that in consequence everything concerning the body may also be healed

That is the right course, if a lasting healing of the bodily kind is to be preserved

Thus he too who really longs to help others in their healing from bodily sicknesses needs always so to work that the power of the Aether first helps towards the healing of the wounds which in some manner cling to the ethereal covering of the soul

The Aether works through all the planes of the Subsequent Creation

In every plane it takes on another kind of effect, but its foundation is always the same

It permeates everything in order to form the movement which alone can bring new development

From sickness to healing it is possible to move only through movement, which brings development in the matter concerned

And since the direction leading from sickness to healing is conditioned by development, it is precisely the Aether which, with the help of its right conducting through magnetism by means of a man gifted for it and inwardly matured, can work as a healing power

The greatness of the power of the Aether drawn by magnetism to the places calling for healing also determines how swiftly the mentioned development from sickness to healing will proceed

And here precisely is that essential thing which in many men causes difficulties in comprehending that something which under all circumstances is invisible to earthly eyes could have such an effect as may often be called a miraculous happening

Nevertheless it is a matter of something wholly natural, for the Aether is in the Subsequent Creation an omnipresent power

It is found absolutely everywhere and is the cause of the development of the greatest part of all things

And since it comes from the regions of Valhalla, from the power of O-dio-nar which moves the universe in the material planes of the Subsequent Creation, it is evident that the Aether in its working can never oppose the Laws of Creation

On the contrary, it works within them exactly and consistently, in that it drives mobility even into these Lawful workings

In the forming of happenings the Aether always brings quickening and power, which the hands of the weavers of fate then make use of

If then the influx of the Aether is directed to some man in a plea for the improvement of his condition, and at the same time the man for whom it is intended is inwardly open, the power may then take effect quite immediately, that is, in such a way that through the reshaping of the threads the change can come about, from the human standpoint, at once

The condition for this happening, that the Aether may flow in heightened power, is that the man for whom this power is intended be open to it as fully as possible

In order, however, that a complete and lasting healing of the body may come about, there is here that condition of the healing of the wounds of the soul, which for the greatest part are always also the reason for the bodily sickness

As has already been mentioned, the healer who longs to help his fellow-men in such a way that the healing from sickness becomes lasting will always concentrate his attention not only upon the outer gross material covering, but in no case will the state of the ethereal body, that is, the state of the soul, escape his attention

He will thus always first direct his help to that which is of the soul in man, at the same time as the power of the Aether is drawn to the healing of the gross material body

On Earth there is never a separateness between the ethereal and the gross material world

If one part falls sick, then sooner or later the ailing comes upon the other part also

Therefore, for the attaining of a lasting effect, it is not possible to heal only the outer earthly covering without the wounds of the soul being healed at the same time

If the more inward is neglected, then, although the outer sickness may perhaps be improved through the heightened power of the Aether, it is a matter of a temporary suppression of the radiation which is bound up with the soul and which sooner, or perhaps also later, will again break forward in a renewal of the original sickness, or in the outbreak of a sickness of another kind which in reality, however, has the same foundation

If it happens that in the healing the power of the Aether is directed to the outward and the sickness vanishes and is healed for good, then, in the opening of the man who pleads for healing, some inner comprehension has surely also come about which was closely bound to the covering of the soul

We may thus speak of a self-acting healing of the soul, in which, with the awareness of the pain of the sickness, or in the comprehension of something higher, together with the bodily covering the wound upon the covering of the soul was also suddenly healed

Today it still holds good that the greatest part of men finds itself in a state of great ignorance in the knowledge of the interconnection of all the threads of radiation which stretch between the individual coverings of the spiritual spark

Nor is anything known of the working of the influences which pass over from the fine to the outer gross material, be they formations or also the soul forces of other souls, which in no small measure are bound to those who are incarnated on Earth

Were more to be spoken of this already today, a great part of men would take fright, for suddenly before their gaze there would arise pictures revealing the state of the covering of their soul and of all the formations hanging upon it

The formations in the end bear kinds of radiation which of necessity are bound by the weavers of the threads to the finer coverings, and these very often work by their influence as weakening, or even as still more strongly affecting the disposition of the man who finds himself in a gross material body, while he himself knows nothing at all of all this

He knows nothing of it, for no one has told him that something of the kind is a part of his soul, and the intellect trained from childhood sets itself on principle against it with resistance, even though his inner being would be capable of receiving and comprehending a little of it

Therefore there are many sicknesses from which men succeed in healing only partially and with great effort, more often however not at all

They drag along with them their wounds of the soul or the formations which cling to their fine coverings with an adhesion that does not permit full health, for it consumes a great part of the life-giving forces of the Aether flowing daily to man

Also the inner attunement of the soul of man is very often so set that the originally creative kind of the power of the Aether is transformed by man, broken down through feelings and intuitive perceptions and led into the vibrations of an evil volition

Thereby man sets himself against the nature of all the blessed and creative forces which are found in the whole of Creation

The transforming of the Aether and of the spiritual forces which stream to man is misused for evil

This must then sooner or later manifest itself as wounds upon the soul, and at the same time through this attunement there are attracted formations which cling to the finer raiment

And here precisely it holds good that if one part falls sick, in consequence the remaining parts must of necessity fall sick also

Thereby, through the weaving of the threads of fate, there is determined for man the way which awaits him

Whether it comes here on Earth or later in the further continuation of the way in the finer worlds, it will always of necessity come, driven by the power of the Aether

Then difficulties, pains and sicknesses arrive, without the earthman surmising even the least of the actual origin of it all

From everything, however, it is possible to be healed again

Healing is possible with all kinds of sicknesses, just as all the wounds of the soul which man carries upon his ethereal plane can be healed

In the wonderful Creation a way is prepared by the Creator for all difficulties, if in the inner being of man the resolve awakens to change everything for the better

Where there is the will to good, there is also possible the way of healing and of attaining the state of fullness of being

Therefore it is so often and so emphatically repeated that the foundation for all improvement in man and around him is the beginning of the all-embracing volition for good

We find ourselves in a time in which the influx of the Aether to this Earth is being strengthened

Thereby there opens for many men a way to use its supporting influence also for the attuning of a new approach to life in pure and childlike joyful volition

Out of such an attunement of the inner being and of the thoughts everything new is then born

The great spiritual enlightenment of mankind, already mentioned in many texts, also goes now upon these paths

Everything offers itself to man for his use, so that he may turn it to account in the best manner attainable to him

The spiritual inner being knows the way

It does not need many signposts for it, for, like everything in Creation, the way to the Light is the simplest and most proper kind of being which can bring man to fulfilment

Thereby he is healed in soul and in body

There where difficulties then show themselves, those men can help who bear within themselves the gift of the concentrated directing of the Aether through magnetic faculties

And of such men there is a great number on Earth, however much they themselves in part still do not know of it today

But the time will bring them to awakening, for it is a part of the often described spiritual enlightenment which is coming

Everything will change

And it will come, under the heightened power of the Aether, swiftly and for many unexpectedly

We already now have full part in this wondrous happening
