The Great Transformation brings within it a tremendous break in the course of human history upon the Earth as it has been until now

The break is so great that to describe individually the manifestations which it will call forth, and through which the Great Transformation will in the end also penetrate into all earthly life, would still today appear to most men as a fantasy torn away from reality

It would be called unscientific naivety, raving, and as it is wont to be with men, at this moment it would reap from the greatest part of them nothing but mockery

Men are unable to imagine how great the changes really are that become possible, if within the frame of the Laws of God a willed developmental shift comes about in the lines of life upon the Earth

These developmental shifts have moreover already taken place upon the Earth many times

All those, therefore, who occupy themselves with such things should take today's first changes in the social world and in the world of nature as ground for the highest vigilance

Many among them are truly far advanced and sense that something genuinely new is coming

Yet even they are more or less rigid in their thinking in relation to the liveliness and mobility which ought already to be unfolded in them for the coming happening

Most of them cannot rightly judge that with which they occupy themselves, and for this reason the beginning of the real changes almost always slips through their fingers

It is figuratively the same as if men who moved about in the primeval age of the Earth among the ancient saurians, and thus knew only their lumbering bulk and the sameness of their appearance, were to shake their heads if someone told them at that time that after a while there would be found upon the Earth wholly different forms of animals belonging to the kind of the mammals, and this with many diversities of their shape

In all likelihood, as is the custom with men, they would brand such a more receptive man as a dreamer who denies the given conditions upon the Earth

Even if he described to them how the new animals would look, how they would move, what they would eat, or how they would come into this world, the setting of thoughts directed only upon the present knowledge of the saurians would not permit the said men, through their narrowed comprehension, truly to receive anything of the new vistas offered

They would not wish to receive it, although in that very moment it already stood in finished forms above them themselves in the finer levels, prepared by the animistic servants exactly so that it should soon become a reality of life upon the Earth

The researchers of that time could not, for instance, have imagined that any creature higher in development might be born into life otherwise than out of an egg buried in the sand, for in that age those primeval animals upon the Earth did indeed come into this world in such a way

That a change would come in such a thing was not permitted them precisely by their comprehension, which hung upon the present

For the greatest part they would therefore reject the conception of anything other than that which passed for generally acknowledged and which in their view was the result of the so-called right manner of thinking

And now it is exactly the same

Even in the present time men reject the conception that anything in their manner of life should fundamentally change

Yet precisely today we stand at the beginning of penetrating changes, which will in the end come also into the whole manner of life of men

If, however, all that will come as a part of the Great Transformations of life upon the Earth were already now spoken of beforehand in full openness, then the prevailing part of existing human thinking would rise up against it, to deny it with indignant displeasure

It would become an object of mockery instead of being taken with the seriousness which belongs to it

That, however, changes nothing in the fact that all of it is already close about the Earth and is preparing itself under the influence of the radiation of the Ray of Parzival, in order to come to visibility

However much all the changes drawing near to the Earth may today appear as dreamlike vistas which, according to the conceptions of men of today, will never be realisable, at the same time these changes are already rolling through the spheres, in order, in their passing over from the finer into the denser, at last to become the present for all those men who prove themselves each for himself, so that they may take part in the building up of the new manner of living

There is but a small number of those who in their liveliness are ahead in this over against the majority, which may be described as deeply asleep

These courageous individuals can always lean upon their inner conviction in the right judging of the events which are already beginning to be fulfilled

It may be said that those men who hold firmly within them the knowledge of the Laws of Creation have no doubt of the coming of all that which is caught up in advance out of the Will of God as the new existence which is to dawn here upon the Earth in the near future

The endeavour of those who in their opposition wish to resist all of this through the cleverness cultivated by the intellect carries no weight whatever in this matter

The human will as it has been until now plays but a small part therein, although many men who consider themselves to stand firmly in their boots by virtue of the intellect suppose that their influence is the mightiest mover which sways all the development of the course of the world

The Will of God, which with Its power arches over all things, has for some time already been penetrating out of the finer spheres into the visible manifestation of matter with the mission of carrying the Great Transformation through into all earthly life

And precisely now we stand at that moment in which the ever stronger penetration of the Will of God into the visible begins to overpower all human doing

Therein lies that great change

The Will of God, as the determiner of the further development in the Subsequent Creation, now brings a great advance in many things

It draws near without delay

The result of the change will be the carrying through of accord with the Harmony of the whole work of Creation

To that end everything now works so that the change may be attained with haste, for it is indeed high time for it

This penetration is brought about by the hands of the animistic servants, who with each further day strengthen the threads of radiation in which everything needful for the changes is contained

Together with the drawing near of the new to its permeation of the coarsest parts of materiality, there unfolds at the same time a happening hitherto unknown to men

This happening consists in an accelerated ripening and at the same time in the falling apart and the withering of all that can no longer endure, because in its inharmonious disturbing quality it is wholly of another kind, and thereby unusable for the further building up of the new era of life upon the Earth

In this happening of the penetration of the radiation there is fulfilled the rebirth leading out of the old into the new

Men should therefore take great care not to remain stuck fast in the old through something which they hold within them as long wrongly attuned

For it would mean for them the danger that the radiation which newly brings a wholly different kind of forces would no longer permit them to abide in their attunement

In other words there would come about their expulsion from that space in which, gradually and with the help of the nearness of the Ray of Parzival, the conditions of the new radiation will fully prevail

We may therefore speak of a fundamental otherness of kind in the radiation which now draws to this Earth in a gradual intensifying

This radiation is creative and forming, and therefore contains within it much that is new for the vistas of a manner of life which is until now unknown upon the Earth

At the same time it is unstoppable in its advance

The radiation out of which the threads of all that is new are formed bears within it precisely that fundamental change of the visible forms in the material world

Among other things it is also a matter of forms of life which in an accelerated development will establish themselves as newly partaking in this earthly world

It will come gradually and in part wholly unnoticed by the human faculties of perception

All of this is now laid entirely into the hands of the animistic weavers, who in untiring activity work upon everything for the attainment of that which was given them out of the All-Wisdom of God to bring into being

In the world of thought, which until now stood wholly under the influence of men, that approaching change consists in the complete carrying through of the spiritual enlightenment, which is unstoppable and will therefore be attained in spite of the still persisting obstinate rigidity of millions of people

As has already been said, the human will has now only a subordinate influence upon the further development

It will bring about nothing but a sharpening of the impact upon those men who today insist that they wish to remain in the old manner of thinking

Thereby, however, many will bring hardships upon themselves alone

Nothing can hinder the approaching spiritual enlightenment of mankind willed by the Light

It is indeed strange to have to speak of it in this way still today, for it should be far more natural to mention the fact that the greatest part of men upon the Earth look forward to this spiritual enlightenment and that every smallest advance towards its fulfilment is welcomed by them

The most natural fact of all should in reality be the striving of men that everything contained in the heralded spiritual enlightenment should as soon as possible become a part of their everyday life

It is therefore very sad that we can observe how very many people convulsively resist such a thing

That men resist the spiritual enlightenment is, alas, a sign of their belatedness and backwardness

It is a sign of the spiritual lukewarmness of a part of the souls which are today incarnated upon the Earth

But everything has its meaning and its reason, for in the happening ordained by God there is always contained the perfect All-Wisdom

And therefore it is needful at the same time to look upon the coming happening also as a period of the sifting of the humanly spiritual kind in its development, which is granted to it full of grace

Whoever continues to lag behind will in the end remain wholly aside from the great advance, which is nevertheless so very important for all spiritual development

The chief reason for the changes which now come is that spiritual enlightenment which, for the fulfilment of the ancient preconditions of men upon the Earth, is now a natural step forward

Therefore the changes spoken of will concern men, and this not only in their inner development, but in part also in their earthly bodies

Today hardly anyone can yet imagine that the existing human brain might change in some way in a direction of development other than that which its excessively developed front part now determines

This part is closely bound up with an over-developed materialistic intellectuality, and it has also caused upon the Earth the greatest damage in the whole history of men

Were this left further as it now is, then men would in the end bring destruction upon themselves and upon all earthly life

Therefore what comes, comes with a certain necessity and happens in connection with the rescuing radiation of the grace-filled help of God, which brings to the Earth the time of the spiritual enlightenment and, inseparably bound up with it, the Great Transformation

It is indeed so, that precisely the human brain will pass through a transformation of which today no one has any inkling

The transformation will consist in a change of the manner of the use of the nerve fibres and of the nerve connections hitherto formed in the brain

The strengthening of the radiation of the Light will bring an inwardly forming, supporting influence upon the nerves of the brain, through changes willed voluntarily by man, which will be begun by the understanding attitude of those who are aware of the present wrong development in the manner of human thinking

With those, however, who do not yet perceive it so, the shift will be brought about in a flood of outward forces, which will come as an unceasing pressure towards the urgently needed re-ordering of the present nervous system of the human body

The change will come in any case

It may in a certain sense be called a leap in development, which comes and will in the end touch every man without delay

As a leap in development, however, it can be designated only because men did not walk therein upon the originally predestined paths, whereon the final result would have been attained gradually with full understanding, and thereby also in joyful awareness of what great blessing all of this will in the end bring to men

The change will take place in the march of events, and this under a heightened pressure upon everyone

Under this heightened pressure the nerves of the brain will be compelled to work otherwise than has been the case until now

Through the transformation it undergoes the human brain will become more capable of receiving the intuitive perceiving, which in comparison with today will rise to an unprecedented degree

The capacity for a heightened intuitive perceiving is in part already known to those men who bear within them the predispositions thereto already formed today by the animistic weavers

These people carry within them differences which are already a part of their nervous equipment

Until now they have for the most part found themselves under the oppression of those who act intellectually, that is, of people to a great extent well-nigh heartless

The heightened receptivity and the capacity for fellow-feeling belonging to the equipment of these people have hitherto been for them, on the part of the intellectuals, mostly only a ground for hostility, and thereby for repeated exposure to much suffering through thoughts

They were exposed to mockery for an over-sensitiveness which was imputed to them by people dulled in their intuitive perception as something defective for life upon the Earth

Now, however, everything turns about, and heavy experiencing will accompany more and more those who have made heartlessness their own in their manner of dealing with other people and with all life upon the Earth

Intuitive perceiving, that is, the capacity to experience all the moments of the present primarily through the receptivity of the inner being, will become a natural quality which will move the world of today towards a wholly different manner of life

Men will be more enabled through their nerves to perceive everything around them and to feel with others in a wholly different way than is the case today

Compassion will move to the level of an almost physical receptivity

What arises out of this perceiving the purified intellect will then be able to work up into effective help for use in everyday life

The future happening here described will therefore not be governed by the will of the human intellect, as is the case today

And this precisely because the intellect will be led ever more under pressure towards its return to the place where it should always rightly have belonged

The changes in the nerves of the brain will in the end bring an entire gross material re-forming of this important organ into a new proportion in the sizes of its several parts

Thereby the outward appearance of man will also gradually be transformed

In their result the transformations will in the end bring, within the space of a few generations, a different proportion of the facial part to the total size of the head

The human face will take on a proportionately greater size, for through intuitive experiencing it will become more expressive of the inner experiencing within man

The form and shape of the human countenance will also undergo fundamental changes as regards its natural symmetry, and will thereby gain greater nobility of character and beauty

The greatest expression in the human face will thereby be held by the eyes, which through their nervous connection are in a certain sense an outward part of the organ of the brain

The eyes were always meant to be a kind of speech of the intuitive brain

That the mind and speech, upon the ground of the over-strained use of the intellectual part of the brain, took over the original task of the eyes and in part also the task of the muscles of expression, brought about by degrees the unreadability of the human inner being outwardly for other people

It may be said that the intellect thus skilfully concealed its true face

It even became, on the part of the intellect, a willed shift towards the deliberate deceiving of others, whereby the eyes and the expression of the face were artificially and intentionally pushed into the background, so that the real intentions of a man should not be so easily recognised by his fellow men

All of this went hand in hand with the development of the rank overgrowth of the intellectual brain

It went so far that in the end dissimulation became a part of the daily life of men, and those who could not deceive in this way were held to be childishly simple persons, insufficiently equipped for the harsh life of the intellectuals

Such people were looked upon as poor wretches who, unlike the rest, are unable to make the art of dissimulation their own

This, however, gradually brought forth in the development something wholly terrible

The human face grew ever smaller, and above all the eyes, which were meant to be the ground of the human spirit for any sharing whatever of a supra-intellectual attunement with other people, became wholly unusable for such a thing

The eyes became merely an instrument of sight, one of the five basic gross material senses of man, instead of being a precious instrument of the spiritual speech between men one with another

According to the original development it was never meant to be so

The eyes and the whole face are an inseparable part of the human radiation of intuitive perceptions and belong inseparably to human spirituality here upon the Earth

But all of this goes still much further, and precisely today it has very grave consequences for the greater part of mankind

Even the whole body was meant to have on the whole a different aspect as regards its bearing and its manner of movement in every hour of the day

The body was meant to be capable of lightness in all its movements, and this even to the degree of a certain manifested impression of floating

With women especially the movement was meant to take the form of a graceful gliding but lightly bound to the ground

Therefore the coming changes will also bring wholly new kinds of movement which are unknown to men today, for the body of the men of today is, as a consequence of intellectual thinking, rather only heavily dragged through life, or broken down under the influence of diseases

Often it is also deformed into some kind of muscular over-strain through the pressure of artificially cultivated sport

The exercise cultivated by men today does indeed, when it is meant seriously and responsibly, bring in part a certain bearing and self-control, yet exercise should never run far ahead of the spiritual liveliness which alone would impress upon everything more gracefulness and harmony

Therefore in the coming time the human body will also to a great extent be transformed, so that it may better transmit all that takes place in the inner being of man

It is a matter of a wholly different kind of forces, which can then permeate all the parts of the body, which only in that moment is truly animated by the spiritual inner being

The earthly body of the greatest part of the men upon the Earth today has a ponderous effect

It appears like a coat hung upon a motionless mannequin

The body today is not spiritually animated, but through the weakened radiation of the spiritual spark it is led in a languid way and with great delay to expressions which almost never answer to the need of that immediacy which the true liveliness of the spirit demands

Thus full worth is lacking in all that man does

In earlier times, when men were more closely joined with the body, they were able to experience the smallest impressions of the outward happening around them in such a way that their body was a direct bridge for the spirit

This bridge lay in the living blood, which in earlier times served as a true bridge between the finer coverings of the spiritual spark and the body

Healthy and living blood is the key to the return of the bodily covering of man today to the original and far closer connection with the inner essence which is to be found in the core of the spiritual spark

Of the many connections arising out of this it will therefore be needful to treat still further, into the finer degrees of knowledge

This is because the approaching Great Transformations will bring much of it before long, and men striving for the spiritual enlightenment should not remain therein as ignorant as they have been until now

Much more needs yet to be brought to the awareness of the new knowledge

Therefore in the texts to follow this knowledge will gradually be made accessible, so that everyone who longs for a full-valued life here upon the Earth may have all that is needful anchored in his soul and in his conscious thinking

Thereby that way of the spiritual enlightenment which is now required by the radiation of the Ray of Parzival will also gradually begin
