In the present time on earth a day has a value of immeasurable worth

It has the value of the whole existence of the human spirit

In one day, indeed often even in the course of one single hour, the direction of a man's path can change entirely, a path which can lead him at once either to a full-valued, happy life, or direct him towards growing hardships or complete ruin

A fundamental decision is the work of a single moment in which a stronger vibration of volition takes place in the human inner being

Men, however, pay no heed to it

Through their insensitivity towards all the spiritual processes which immediately accompany a change of direction they have become dulled

They therefore do not devote to their inner volition the necessary receptivity

With the change arising from the decision within, a radiation shoots out into space, out of which the threads of fate are without delay woven by the Vaenen

All this is a process of an ethereal kind, which is so far removed from outer earthliness that it is not observed by men

Nevertheless it bears within it a momentous power carrying the ability to form, through the threads of fate, all that will come in the further development

This holds good for the individual human spirit as well as for the whole of mankind

The threads which for the spirit bear within them the fulfilment of its further path, however much at their beginning they are still earthly unfulfilled, nevertheless already from the first moments of their arising work back according to their kind upon the inner being of man as a kind of vibration, stirring either to joyful hope, or to dejection, uprootedness, tension, or perhaps even to anger

It is an inner state which works in man from the moment when a change of volition takes place

Men generally call this state a mood, for out of it there necessarily arises a state of the surroundings of man which has an influence upon him

It is like a fine nebula which is found outside man and in him himself

It works exactly according to the volition that has been set

Men, however, lay no emphasis upon their volition, but perceive only the mood which arises out of the volition

They then say that they have no mood, that they have lost it, that someone else has taken their mood from them

Or again, on the contrary, although they do not suspect why, their mood may within a moment improve without any visible reason

Such a thing then influences in them the disposition of their thoughts, either towards the sadness of helplessness and anger, or on the contrary a joyful and courageous volition brightens within them

The power for joyful volition is supplied by the will to change things for the better

Present-day men do not yet know exactly how all this comes about and what arises out of it

The beginning, however, is always born in their inner being, that is, in the vibrations of the volition of the spiritual spark

Here is that mysterious focus of all human moods

The mood always comes from within

From without anything may assail, but the inner power is always the decisive one for what the attunement of man will be

But this men do not know, they do not wish to know it

Many even strongly resist admitting to themselves that the beginning of their mood always derives from the volition of their inner being

They then assert that it is the outer world which influences their disposition and thereby also their mood

For their attunement they blame the outer world

They designate the outer world as the originator of their own unrest, distrust or even of anger and malice

This is because they do not perceive the power of the inner decision working in the Laws of Creation upon the development of the threads of fate

Therefore they always recognize only the consequences of the spiritual volition, and this only on the basis of manifestations which come to their receptivity in the plane of coarser matter

To these belong sudden events bringing hardships, the breaking of relationships with fellow men, long-lasting failures, mental overstrain, the loss of health, and much else besides

But also surprisingly happy periods and successes in some pure striving with which a man occupies himself

All these are lawful manifestations of an inner shift or change which must first have taken place in the finest threads of fate

At the same time the threads which are woven without ceasing change greatly in the case of men in consequence of the way man is unhappily influenced by the general ignorance of the true meaning of his life on earth

Thus the threads interpenetrate one another, in that a part of them is directed upwards to more transparent spheres and a part again fetters the spirit downwards

And out of this there also derives the perceiving of the mood of the individual as well as of the whole of society

Here on earth hope and ruin are constantly found side by side

Although here for all human volition the accompanying kind of attunement should always have been only hope, today futility and hopelessness are experienced by the great majority

The experiencing of some kind of mood is a sign of the setting in of a new inner direction, which however always fulfilled itself first on the fine plane of the spiritual kind

In the material world the greatest part of the manifestations then appears only after a great interval

The most important changes basically always take place first on the plane of the spiritual will of man and by their arising reach immediately into the outer world only partially

They often arrive only after an interval of months, of years, or of decades, or many times also appear only in one of the further earthly lives

Men, however, through the use of the narrowed intellect, have learned to comprehend and to acknowledge only those manifestations which are graspable for them through the receptivity of the brain, that is, through the senses

They therefore become aware of the connections predominantly only on the outward plane of perceiving, when the processes unfold in the grossly materially tangible world

Thus although here and there they perhaps perceive some presentiments, or the quiet voice of conscience sounds within them, the ability of receptivity for all that is finer has in them a very weakened soil

The intellect suppresses the finer impressions in man in the endeavour to stifle the spirit

Thereby the comprehension of and the trust in all that is spiritual has also gradually been lost

For the earthly world only the outer happening has become acknowledged

In the end it has gone so far that even men striving in the most genuine volition for spiritual awakening themselves distrust their own inner stirrings

Out of it there arose a state of uprootedness of one's own intuitive impressions

It is sad that many people do not trust themselves in that which should always have been the most fundamental certainty

They do not trust their inner being, because they let themselves be corroded by the doubting thoughts of the intellect

The intellect thus fights against the very spiritual essence in man

There could arise no greater contradiction than that which prevails between the spiritual inner being and the outer comprehension through the instrument of the brain

This brings confusion and the uprooting of the very worth of man

Today there is an enormous number of people who do not trust themselves, but rather trust the phrases which are insinuated to them from without as the right way of life

Despair seizes those who no longer find their way within themselves and doubt themselves at every important decision about their life

It appears as though the outer world were stronger than the individual

Thus it is pressed by the disposition of society through outer forms into the inner life of men

Behind it stands the endeavour of the intellect to shake the trust in any endeavour towards a childlike simple, pure volition of all-embracing good

Such volition is designated as unsuited to the world of today, because it has not the power to change anything at once and immediately

For that the human body, that is, the brain, is too weak

Thereby the trust in the victory of good volition over malevolence is long undermined

In this respect it is repeatedly and often pointed out by very educated people, with reference to experiences, how precisely such a volition of good does not pay

Outer forms are shown which are to confirm that the volition of good alone has not the power to change anything

But the most important thing lies precisely always and solely in the inner spiritual decision, and not in the consequences which unfold only later

It may be likened to the turning of the rudder of a ship

With the turning of the rudder by the will of the helmsman the direction of the ship is set at once, yet the actual process of the ship's movement comes about, in proportion to its size and weight, only after an interval, and this on account of the resistance lying in the density of the water, or also of the influence of the water current in which the ship finds itself

All this the helmsman needs to take into account, in order to be able to guide the ship rightly and safely forward in the desired direction

Also in order to have within himself the trust that the steering of the ship is right

For a really good helmsman it then holds good that with his fine intuitive discernment he takes into account, for example, even such influences as the flow of the air, the strength and the height of the waves

And the same is projected into all the decisions of the spiritual inner being of man

The decision flashes forth at once, but the fulfilment of the intentions contained in the decision appears only after a certain time

Just as in the voyage of a ship, so also upon the volition of the spiritual inner being the circumstances which at the given moment are found around man have an influence

If the circumstances are favourable, outer manifestations too may come about swiftly, but if unfavourable outer conditions prevail, then in submission to them the results appear later, or outwardly in a different form than could have been expected

The outer process becomes reality only in the lawful inertia arising from the Law of Movement, which manifests itself in the substantiality of outer processes in matter

Exactly so is it in the life of men

And yet many will not admit it to themselves and expect that, in the case where they make a change within themselves, this will at once manifest itself outwardly in everything visible and tangible as a confirmation of their having taken the right direction

Many people form for themselves conceptions about the fulfilment of their wishes without regard for the conditions prevailing in matter

Thereby they often very swiftly cause themselves disillusionment, and out of it a distrust in the existence of God's Laws forms itself within them

It may be called immaturity, but it changes nothing in the fact that in a great number of people such expectation causes much harm

Impatience and also the expectation of results which in the density of matter cannot be born into the present is often the reason for a man's falling away again from the striving to concentrate upon the volition of all-embracing good

It is a gaping wound which lies in the mistrusting of the fulfilment of God's Laws

Yet the result corresponding to the original volition of the inner being could always have been awaited in patience and with trust

Certainly the result would have appeared despite all obstacles and all manner of delays

The hands of the weavers would have brought a result such as it was in the first stirring of the inner being

From the point of view of the development of the happening, the most important thing is always the decision in the inner volition of man

He who strives towards the Light may fully trust in this

The living through of every day in this trust then brings a strengthening of the certainty about the rightness of the path, however much the path in the present time of great ferment cannot be called ideal, and the expectation of a stroll through a rose garden may be called a detachment from the earthly conditions of matter

In order that the trust in the victory of the Light might be in man a permanent power strengthening him forward,

the state of the soil of the world of today needs to be a part of his knowledge

From this point of view it is therefore immensely important to know the lawful consequences which accompany every vibration of the inner being of man

Whoever does not know these laws may often be greatly confused or even entirely disappointed

Yet the knowledge of the Laws of Creation enables the individual as well as the whole of society entirely to change their further direction

And this is also now happening

Only men pay no heed to it

The whole scale of the finest radiations changes at this time in such a way that the animistic weavers can bring to man entirely new kinds of forces, whether for ascent, or also, alas, as is more often experienced today, for a fall or for gross material destruction

But everything then goes further, and all further development again derives from the attunement of the human inner being

In the planes of the ethereal worlds everything then goes much more swiftly

But at this time, even here on earth in the density of matter, the stream of events also goes more swiftly than it did at any time before

The same forces issuing from God's life-giving source can, in the fulfilment of the highest Justice, be woven by the hands of the animistic servants in such a way that the outer happening brings blessing to one and catastrophes to another

Exactly according to the kind of attunement of man there takes place today, with unprecedented swiftness, the fulfilment of the Justice of God through the activity, as yet incomprehensible to men, of the animistic weavers – the Alphar

But because nothing is known about it, men have not the slightest inkling at all at what intersection of all the radiations their spiritual inner being is situated

The inner being of man can perform every day the most valuable work for himself and also for the whole world, in which every radiation of the volition of all-embracing good necessarily takes part and helps to form the general forms of the outer environment

This, however, also often takes place only after an interval, when the people willing the good no longer dwell on earth

Nevertheless it takes place and works beneficially for further generations, for in this too there can then work the inertia which brings steadfastness in the direction of volition entered upon by mankind

Today we reap the volition of the past decades of the post-war period and also of the subsequent periods of the years of the end of the century

All that is projected into outer forms and also works in the worlds of thought is the ripening of the fruit of the past decades, which interpenetrated the layers of previous forms, in which there was again much that today no longer holds good

Today the dogmatic influences of religions no longer hold good, as they perhaps still did at the beginning of the last century

The thoughts of the crude enslavement of one's fellow men no longer hold good, the thoughts of the humiliation of women no longer hold good, nor do even the former overwrought thoughts of national superiority or the naive conceptions about the possibility of a communist ordering of the world

There hold good, however, entirely new thought forms which have ripened, and we can today observe their influence upon the living present of the world of today

In them there is again much immaturity, much sediment floats in them, but also much that is good

Hence that headlong rush of changes

These thoughts were born decades ago and have influenced the world of today for almost three decades already

Through their working they are in part strengthened by the happening in the present, but in part they are also already reaching their exhaustion

We may thus behold the transformation of the forms in the direct following of their development and also of their immediate influence upon the whole thinking of mankind

We may learn from it and recognize how important is the forming of thoughts of all-embracing good, of which there is still an insufficient measure in the world of thought

As soon as a sufficient kind of radiation of good were attained in the world of thought, sooner or later there would come about the withering away of all kinds of violence among men

Not only outer violence, but above all violence in thoughts, in the wishes of men that others should suffer and reap in their lives some forms of pain and suffering

That would be the proof of the victory of all-embracing good in human volition

And only out of this foundation can then unfold the building up of a new social life of men

Whoever is a good observer will easily deduce from it with how many of his own thoughts he has enabled, and still enables, the arising of forms of violence

Yet every new day, every further hour offers him to make an end of it and to direct all the power of his spiritual inner being upon creative, helping forms which lead along the ways of the wish for ascent for every human spirit, indeed even for every creature to whom it is given within the framework of God's Laws to develop

To use the gift of the day in this way only a very small number of people are able

Much, far too much force is squandered every day upon trifles which have no effect upon the betterment of the world, or moreover such a concentration upon details may take part in supporting a bad direction in the form of acts of violence and malice

But it is high time to begin with a new change in all the volition of man

Through the inner being there needs to penetrate that purest radiance of the all-embracing volition of good

Like the flaring up of a strong flame everything is to be entirely transformed towards a new direction

Only out of such volition are the Vaenen now to weave the threads of fate, so that out of these luminous threads the Alphar may bring back to man forms and processes which will confirm to him the rightness of his walking through life

The accelerated processes called forth by the nearness of the Ray of Parzival can be of help in this, so that everyone may receive a strong recognition of what is good and what is not

No one need be without knowledge in this

No one need grope and wander any longer without hope and trust

The way out lies in the full recognition of the working of God's Laws

The time is here to occupy oneself with it quite objectively and consistently

If the necessary concentration is devoted to it, then there will swiftly be disclosed to men that role of the correlated forces which, seemingly in their interpenetration from the planes of the invisible, give birth to the earthly conditions in which it is given to man to live through his pilgrimage of life

Nowhere are there any deficiencies or inaccuracies, for the weaving of the threads of fate is without exception perfect

In the rough conception there therefore holds good that well-known “what is sown, that is reaped!”

The only thing that can change the direction of the working of the weavers of the threads of fate is precisely that free will of the human spirit

It brings to earth forms and circumstances corresponding to the harvest of the previous sowing, but how men will act immediately in these conditions, what new will be born out of their volition, that can no longer be influenced by anyone other than men themselves

Seemingly it appears confusing, but a consistent justice prevails in it

What is put into the course of the Laws, that returns

Out of this, however, there follows an unambiguous result

With the observing of the condition of a permanent volition of all-embracing good, regardless of the conditions which continually change, there must one day come the victory of the Light and of the Truth for all happening on earth

No other result can come than that God's Laws will bring as fruit peace, tranquillity and the fulfilment of joyful, creative existence for every inhabitant of the work of Creation

Thus on earth also all this will come about as a lawful result, if the volition of a sufficient number of people is directed towards the Good and the Light

Precisely for this reason every single earthly day has with its space the opportunity to weave an entirely new world out of the volition of all-embracing good of the greatest possible number of people

A new world for the individual as well as for the whole

There is in it something mighty which indicates that the individual man is not so insignificant in the course of world events, if he comprehends the power of his volition

Thereby he can at every moment strengthen the direction leading to the liberation of billions of people still suffering in the swamps and labyrinths of the existing disposition of thought of society

His strong and clear volition of good can work like a sharp, shining spear which breaks a path through the fog of ignorance

All this of course holds good if he does not look upon the surrounding world with a condemning gaze and accepts all around him as spiritual fellow men seeking the way home

Only in such an attunement may we speak of the all-embracing volition of good

All that is necessary in the fulfilment of the Justice of God the hands of the weavers will guide in such a way that in the end the longed-for result will with certainty be attained for all those who are pure within themselves and who in simple sincerity wish for others only a strengthening towards the ascent upwards, into the spiritual gardens in the planes of the Light

To occupy oneself with this every day is now a call to everyone

Thereby every moment of the present may become entirely filled with the lofty mission which lies in taking part in the transforming of the conditions towards the result that everything may swing only in accordance with the Will of God in the whole work of Creation

Even one single day fully lived through in the attunement of the all-embracing volition of good can in this bring about an enormous advance for the better
