Hermetes is the servant who holds the dominion over gravitation, over the circling attraction of the forces and over the order residing in this circling
The effect of his working, which he sends in devoted service to Mercury into the planes of the materialities, acts as a cementing, uniting absorptiveness of the little particles, which beneath his staff, upon whose summit there is a magnetically shining radiance, gather themselves together, obedient to the law of gravitation
The radiance issuing from Hermetes and from his staff works of itself as a principle pervading the worlds of the materialities, and in inexorable order it joins all things into circling wholes, which from the smallest particles up to entire universes form clusters out of which there grows the building material for the hands of the further servants vibrating faithfully in obedience to O-dio-nar and to Mercury
Hermetes is in his kind the ruler over matter
Matter is subject to him, and upon all its levels he gives to its joining and to its movement law and order
We find ourselves here in matter within his workshop, within his sphere of working, for the law of the circling of the particles, which gave the possibility for the building up of the substances out of which the universe arose, belongs to his administration
The universe is therefore the work of Hermetes, and one day it will also be called not the universe but hermetis, for in the hermetis all things stand in order and in reconciliation naturally, self-actingly
All, therefore, that the earthly sight of man is permitted to behold, and he himself in his earthly covering of the body, is obedient to the circling of the forces upon which the staff of Hermetes has impressed rhythm and order
Therefore among men the staff – the crozier – is also something that conceals within itself the symbol of ordering, of order and also of power
The inspiration for this was always for many the staff seen in the hand of Hermetes, for he often appears above the worlds when he watches over the order which was impressed by him for the obedience of all the little particles of the enveloped spiritual specks which descended into matter
The tall figure of Hermetes has a singular, severe and at the same time attracting appearance, for from him there radiates into the far distances support and certainty in the endurance of the course of the worlds
His whole appearance is heightened by a tall golden pillar standing above his head, having the form of a cone
The pillar resembles a hat, yet it has no point, but is crowned by a shining light pouring itself into the far distances
The form hovering in this light has the shape of a semicircular bowl, and this is of a golden-white colour
This bowl in Hermetes takes the place of the wings which the others of the Aesir and of the Alphar otherwise bear about them
Hermetes has an elongated, brightly shining countenance, out of which above all his wise eyes shine
His hair, as also his long beard, which flows down almost to his waist, is of a silvery colour
This colour signifies the endurance of the working of Hermetes with matter, for his principle is bound up with the very beginning and with the endurance of Valhalla
Therefore it also holds good that so long as the working of Valhalla is here, so long will the principle of Hermetes take effect downwards into the worlds of matter
In Hermetes there unites, together with the radiation of Mercury, the out-radiation of the ray of the primordially created Leilak, who through Hermetes sends into matter the certainty of the endurance of the worlds
Peace and at the same time an almost unbearable pressure of unyieldingness, of immovability in its principle, is precisely the portion of the radiation of Leilak which the exalted Hermetes bears within himself
Even if matter were torn asunder by the effect of the forces of the other Aesir, as is for example the case with the working of Hareiars, and this influence brought about destruction, the principle of Hermetes would immediately thereafter let new parts of matter and new worlds arise, out of which there would at last be formed planes again reflecting the images of the splendid gardens in the luminous planes of Creation
It is the cycle of the renewal of the world parts and of the universes contained in them
Hermetes is the fashioner of this universe, and the stars circling above our heads are the work of his power and of his order
The constellations glittering in the night sky tell of his creative power and bear witness to the principle of the magnetic forces out of which all in the universe – in the hermetis – has arisen
Immense constellations joined into the wholes of galaxies and of star clusters transmit radiation which is wisely led to all that is to be found in this part of the material Creation
Whole happenings and histories are inscribed into the connecting lines of the single stars, and they let the forces of help and of disintegration stream to every living creature
One day men will learn to read rightly in these radiations of the stars, and they will recognise in them the forces which can be of help at the right time as bearers of the enlivening streaming into matter
Then it is the stars that will be the guide for the happenings in the moving of matter of immense dimensions, with an ease which will require only the touch of a forefinger
And all this is precisely hidden in the circling of the forces sunk into the particles of matter by the servant Hermetes
An immeasurable peace and a creative power issue from the dignified figure of Hermetes and are the pattern for all deeply peaceful order forming itself in stillness
A kind of magnetic, all-overpowering stream of radiation issues from the whole space in which the exalted Hermetes is to be found, and this stream at once subdues all that draws near to the fulfilment of harmonious vibration
The firm grip of the order of matter, however, constantly reminds the human spirit of the need to step above this order, for the essence of his spirit is of another kind, and he needs to attain a greater freedom, a greater expansiveness of his will, than the order of Hermetes allows
It reminds him that the Subsequent Creation is not his true home, but only a space of guesthood where he is permitted to develop towards maturity and towards wisdom
Thus a certain time here always leads at last to the expulsion of the human spirit from the framework of the materialities, and that either upwards or downwards
Either it comes to pass in the upward direction, towards the completion of the path by the conscious entering into the blessed spiritual home, or downwards under the harsh pressure of the servants of Hareiars towards the places where, together with all that is material, the essence of man is at last divested of the consciousness of itself, so that there remains again only the unconscious spiritual seed of man
Thereby this unconscious primordial essence of the human spiritual foundation can then also rise upwards towards the heights of the spiritual Light, for upon this level it is likewise, in its lightness, expelled from the circling order of all things of Hermetes
In the heights of the luminous nebulae of the spiritual, uniting itself with further influences of spiritual resonance, this unconscious spiritual seed can after a time again, in a new clustering of the spiritually animistic streaming around it and in the glowing through which works therein, awaken to a new urge towards self-consciousness
With this urge it is then again pressed to the very edge of the nebulae, towards the spheres where the world of the Subsequent Creation begins, until at last in a helping pulse it flies forth and begins to descend into the first nebulae lying deep beneath Valhalla, where, led by the gracious helping hands of the animistic servants, it unites with the first coverings, which make possible for it the further entry into the planes of the materialities
Thereby there begins its path of development in the Subsequent Creation, where, wholly obedient to the Laws, it is subject to the effects of the working of all the exalted servants formed by Mercury for the building up of the materialities
Thus the spark of the spirit enters upon the path on which it will always be unconditionally obedient to the effect of the working of the great circling of Hermetes
From these effects it can free itself once more only by two ways, either by maturity upwards, beyond the framework of the Subsequent Creation, or downwards, to the loss of all that it has experienced and absorbed into itself upon the paths of its partial development in the materialities
The cycle of its wandering in the materialities remains, however, within the framework of the order which Hermetes sets and maintains
The mighty servant of O-dio-nar, through his ruler in Valhalla, serves Mercury and thereby Parzival, who watches over the whole work of Creation as the Son of God the Father
Hermetes himself has only a few adjutants, among whom belong the angels of the single world parts
Above these angels stands Hermetes, and he determines the mobility, the density and the translucency of the worlds circling in the single communities
In this respect he is in a certain sense the lord over space, and together with his brother Hathmes also over the time of the mentioned communities
Hermetes is a singular servant, standing to a certain degree by himself
He is not separated from the other Aesir, and yet within his inner being there dwells wisdom with a certain kindliness which radiates from him constantly and makes him in a certain way superior to his companions
At the same time, together with the mentioned kindliness, there is joined in him a constricting unyieldingness insisting upon the fulfilment of his order, which he sets for all things in the following of the great Laws of Creation, in which from the beginning the primordially eternal wisdom of the Will of God vibrates
Hermetes is a servant who stands with Hathmes in the close circle around Odin, bearing within himself the fundamental kind bound up with matter
Thus there stand beside one another as the original powers in the nearness of the sacred steps in Valhalla: Sirius, Neptune, Orkanos, Hermetes, Hathmes and Thonorun
Besides them there work in their kind in close union with Odin these Alphar: Herferide, Herfeline, Siphe, Efredite, Haetheine
And quite independently there stand the tempestuous Hareiars and, in like working, Haerthemis who is close to him
Hareiars works as a strengthening pressure for the principles of working in which his companions and fellow-servants labour
Many further servants still would we find in ever wider and wider circles, circling around the starting-point of the halls of Valhalla
Great, splendid and perfectly working is the happening that rests in Valhalla
Whoever among men cleaves with his attunement to this great blessed circle, he will have his path through the materialities many times brighter and more joyful
His spirit will walk with ease through all experiences, with support in the protection and in the helps streaming to him from the heights of mighty and exalted Valhalla
Thus he will also comprehend and accept the order residing in the work of the exalted Hermetes
Thereby there will unite in him the peace which is sought by all who strive to find concord between the mind and the body
The peace and the order of Hermetes will then stand by him with a strengthening, unswerving power and will make it possible for him to find a certain harmony and balance already here in the materialities
There will also enter into his life an inner power residing in the invisible working of the concord of all the coverings of his spirit
Thereby such a man will become a true master mastering the powers of his spirit, in that in a peaceful and balanced manner of being he will always find for them, for their application, those ways which we may call truly ideal
A peaceful circling and a balanced conduct will also bring to such a man strengthening from the venerable Hermetes, who is the giver of this peace and of this clear order in all things
Addition concerning the current happenings:
Many men ask how it is possible that what is now coming to pass around them should be coming to pass
They do not divine that it is only the beginning, that it is only the mere preliminary stage of the happenings which will fulfil themselves with the ever stronger penetration of the Ray of Parzival to the Earth
That which is now taking place has its foundation in the spiritual state of the Earth
In the increasing tension it penetrates to the inner being of every man and asks after his anchoring in a pure attunement
That which exists begins to crumble and to fall apart, as the first wave of heightened happening has rocked the lives of a great part of mankind
The effort to steady this rocking will be great, and at times it will indeed seem that everything is gradually returning to what it was before
But this will be only a short time of respite, which will swiftly pass, and instead of the first crumbling there will follow the breaking of whole parts of the hitherto existing certainties of men
Whole parts of human activity from which men draw their earnings will break away and collapse as unneeded and as offering nothing more to anyone
On the contrary, that which was almost already forgotten and which from the standpoint of importance had become despised and inferior will emerge again, in order, like a jewel, to bring a way out and a rescue
Men will return gratefully and humbly to the work with nature, for she will offer them their sustenance
Yet even in this return there will for a long time be no promise of success, because the animistic servants will nowhere support the doings of men which would seek to continue in the old ways
The effort to enslave the soil and nature anew will be harshly refused by the failure of the harvest, and everywhere where man does not newly listen with humility to the counsels of the animistic ones, there will come crop failure and hunger
It will last, it will be painful, for nothing will any longer succeed in being revived upon the old foundations of man's attitude towards the animistic world
The failure will be accompanied by blows leading to the destruction of all that strives after the former arrogance of the human distortions in nature
The whole world of nature now stands under the direct protection of the radiation of God, and men will begin to feel it more and more in the returning of their own deeds
Drought, floods, tempest and the tremblings of the earth will stand against the ways which man has hitherto accustomed himself to employ against the whole of nature, which is in reality the sovereign field of working of the animistic servants and has never belonged to the world of men
Man is to approach this domain of the sovereign workshop of the animistic servants like a guest who is welcome only when he heeds the directions of the true stewards
Let us listen even now to the whispering of the voices which descend from the exalted Siphe and from her daughters, who work for the whole division of nature to which belong the forests, the meadows, the fields and the gardens
Whoever learns this in time will have on his side much blessing and many helps
For him everything will flourish in his hands, and he will gradually learn so to radiate towards the world of nature that the whole host of the animistic ones who care for the plants and for the animals will draw near to him with joy, as to a harmoniously shining spiritual servant in Creation
