Herferide is the highest standing and the most exalted of the Alphar

She is of equal rank with O-dio-nar upon the plane of the working for the Alphar, the more delicate women servants of the animistic kind, whose origin is to be found in Valhalla

Her original radiation rests in O-dio-nar and therefore in Mercury, yet there is added to her a radiation descending out of the islands of the pure feminine working in the primordially created heights of the Light

Pure womanhood in the heights of the primordial planes of the work of Creation blends very closely between that which is spiritual and that which is animistic, and thereby there arises a flowing which, streaming down, influences both all that is spiritual and also that which is animistic and which is found in the annexe of the Subsequent Creation, whereto there belong, besides the animistic circle of Valhalla, also the worlds of the materialities

The radiation which separated itself in Valhalla out of the ray of O-dio-nar was therefore united with a higher radiation streaming independently out of the high spheres, and thereby it raised itself higher, in order to form a pure connection with the Primordial Creation, for the vibrations which concern the working of the home, of the kindred, of motherhood

Thus there stepped forth, in the awakening of herself, upon one of the highest steps in Valhalla, the servant Herferide

In the delicate spinning of the high currents there was woven into the essence of Herferide something higher, something which may be called a radiation "lastingly and sacrificially working for the raising of life upwards" for in motherhood, as also in the whole working of the more delicate radiation of the principle of womanhood, there is always to be found a pure, love-filled working of a certain kind of self-surrender

Herferide in Valhalla is, seen from above, a uniting point of the high currents out of the planes of the Primordial Creation, and at the same time, in the direction downwards, into the planes of the Subsequent Creation, she is the starting-point of these radiations, and therefore there streams through her, for the whole animistic working, a capillary radiation weaving strength for the courage of motherly protection, for the care of the offspring, for the ability to preserve the kindred

This capillary radiation penetrates all life in the materialities and strengthens the will of all living creatures to the fulfilment of their tasks in the preservation of the line of blood and of all the care inseparably belonging thereto

The radiation passing over through Herferide is like unto the animation by blood of the "body of the materialities" of the Subsequent Creation, through the arteries, the veins, down to the finest little vessels

It penetrates everywhere and is above all an inseparable part of the development of life in the gross material worlds

In its content it mediates strong currents of alertness and of dexterity in the care, the defence and the protection of all that is weaker, whereto there naturally belongs also the offspring and its preparation for the maintaining of its own life in the further development

Contained in the animistic and in the animal kind, it brings a certain inventiveness, tenacity, patience and the ability to bring even self-sacrifice for the higher meaning which lies in the preservation and the continuation of the kindred

The roughness with which this radiation is connected through the pulsing pride and strength in O-dio-nar brings into the out-radiation of Herferide also the essence of the struggle in nature, which is always driven towards the goal that lies in the survival and the maintaining of the life of one's own line of blood

The weaving of the threads mentioned above is therefore precisely the task of the noble servant Herferide

Her figure vibrates in the stately nobility of a pure radiation of beauty

Herferide is veiled in a white robe with a golden-blue shimmer

The robe falls symmetrically about her perfectly formed animistic body

Her light golden hair is combed upwards, and upon its summit there hovers a circular, sparklingly shining diadem in the form of outspread wings resembling those of angels

Two strands of her hair remain uncombed and, like unto the golden frame of a picture, they fall in thin, wavy ribbons along her enchanting countenance

Out of Herferide there gush pure radiant rays in which she is continually lost and appears again, like a living picture in a sunny nebulous radiance

A stream of luminous radiation winds about her in circles and shoots forth in all directions

The tenderness which comes forth out of her essence blends at the same time with an unyieldingly demanding power, which in the purest, impersonal demanding drives all things to an unceasing striving for the fulfilment of their mission

Every creature of the Subsequent Creation draws her vibrations out of her, without perhaps divining anything of it

The power passing over through her literally nourishes the meaning of the being of the creatures towards their raising of themselves in their development to the Light, to life

This holds good for all, from the greatest creature down to the smallest particle of life

Over through Herferide there pass, for the spheres of the Subsequent Creation, currents out of the heights, descending from the places where the primordially created servants Johanna, Cella, Josepha dwell

Herferide transforms their radiation for the use of all life spreading out from Valhalla downwards

For this she has whole hosts of the Alphar, women servants who without wearying carry her radiation into the distant worlds

Upon her shoulder there appears for this purpose, from time to time, in the form of a white owl, one of the Hesperides

Just as with Odin this service is performed by Phermos, so with Herferide it is precisely the Hesperides who convey the messages which come to her, or on the contrary are sent forth by her herself in her working

The Hesperides have the ability to change their form and their appearance, and therefore they penetrate more easily through the spheres and the worlds

Of the Hesperides and also of Phermos there will yet be spoken separately, for the essence and the kind of their service deserve it

Now back to the activity of Herferide

As we have already mentioned, beneath Herferide there is a whole host of women servants, among whom here in the universe, nearest to the Earth besides Erda and Siphe and their women servants and servants, there are also Celeine and Astarte

Nearest to Herferide in Valhalla there stand then two of her women servants, who arose for the greatest part out of her radiation

They are Efredite and Herfeline

Exceedingly glorious Alphar, who in their task serve the Light faithfully under the leading of Herferide

The task of Efredite is, with her radiation, to strengthen the blessing of the blazing relations between all that is active and all that is passive

Further there is here the care of the vessels, which belongs to Herfeline and to the hosts of her women servants, who also graciously with their radiation help to weave all that is needful at the arising of every new life bound up with the animistic kind

These blessed Alphar, and many others besides who are subordinate to them, are also known as those feminine figures who at the birth of the human spirit into the animistic come in order to bring the determination of the original forces and faculties

Their service is glorious, and alas, for the human world, which is plunged into confusion with itself, they are today only a distant sounding of something fabulously sacred, which trembles in man for only a brief moment when their names are uttered

To these women servants mentioned above there belongs yet one more glorious servant in Valhalla

It is Haetheine, a servant subordinate to the ray of the radiation of Wasitha in the Primordial Creation

It stands in her task that she will always drive all things to ascent and lead them to the holding of an honourable courage in the struggle for the fulfilment of their way in everyday life

Supporting the courage for survival and for the maintaining of one's way, Haetheine works in part combatively, yet her direction is aimed first of all at defence and at protection, at the maintaining of one's being in the gearwork of the great forces of the materialities

Although many men have grown remote from these glorious women servants and servants in Valhalla, we need their help, their knowing, for otherwise we are often lost in the confusion of the influences rolling in upon us

These exalted mediators of pure, ever renewing forces are very near to us, working in every particle of the coverings of our spirit

Let us turn to them and perceive their blessed working about us

In joy, if they recognise our genuineness and our spiritual brightness, they will help us in the moments when there will be no one else who could reach out a helping hand to us

It is in their mission, it is the fulfilment of their joyful service to Parzival and therewith to God Himself

He now brings them nearer to men, that in the fulfilment of His Holy fulfilling, in the strengthening of the Light above the Earth, they may be permitted to be of help to those men who deserve it

Herferide, working out of the halls of Valhalla, now mediates from Parzival a heightened power of radiation, which through her animistic service leads all motherly, protecting and caring endeavour to awakening and to becoming luminous, in the recognition of this glorious gift granted to mankind for its use here upon the Earth

All that holds purity within itself in this kind may take refuge under the protection of the currents descending towards the Earth from Herferide and from the hosts of her women servants

When earthly womanhood recognises the blessing flowing to it therefrom, precisely in the time of motherhood, of upbringing and of the protection of the new generation, then here upon the Earth also mankind will raise itself to a new upsurge and ascent
