Like an endless luminous mighty river, animistic life of all degrees of maturity flows from above downwards out of the heights of the gardens of Asgard into the planes of the materialities, in order to animate them, to glow them through, to fill them with movement and with development
In an enduring influx there comes this animistic life, which becomes a part of all the material world-sections of the Subsequent Creation, here too, to this Earth situated in the gross material section of Ephesus
It is a picture, ungraspable for earthly eyes, of a luminous stream of countless diverse souls of the animistic animal kind, which incarnate into all the prepared vessels in the gross material animal kingdom
The luminous germs of souls descend in a host which literally soaks into the astral plane above the actual earthly gross materiality
In the whole happening of this mighty stream, despite its diversity of maturities showing themselves from a basic jubilant flickering of sparkling radiance up to actual conscious features and shapes, it is possible to behold the dignity and the earnest sincerity with which everything is led to the places where it is to be at the right moment of incarnation
There is contained in it a certain share of that fairy-tale quality which as a uniform feature pervades the whole work of Creation and in the animistic part always shows the glory and the joyful creativeness in all the fulfilling of the Will of God
All animistic working vibrates in its kind solely in accord with the Will of God, and this enables it to hold to itself always the connection with the all-renewing power
In the fulfilling of the creative purpose of the Will of God there are formed and animated out of the said ever-renewing power all the planes of the work of Creation
Thereby there is shaped not only space, but also its living development and content, which here upon Earth we name the world of nature
Nature, as a work of the animistic kind, is thus always in its harmoniousness of a fairy-tale beauty in all its transformations
That is because it is precisely the animistic which in all its fields of working bears within itself a share of the fulfilling effect of the Holy Will of the Creator
Thus also in the most remote parts of the work of Creation the work of the animistic servants will always be a manifestation of the Will of God
And thereby the animistic brings with that lightness into all manifestations its fulfilling, whether it be a matter of the smallest or of the greatest forms of plants and of animals
In every animistic manifestation there always comes only refreshment, for through it there works the creative power having its starting point in the Will of God, of which, at the summit of the work of Creation, the Grail is a part, and in it, ruling for the eternal duration of Creation, Parzival
Thereby everything that happens in Creation leads of necessity upwards to Parzival, for this is contained in His mission, for which He was placed into this Creation by God the Father
Men can therefore, and also need, through a harmonious connection with all that is animistic, to find a sure connection with Parzival and with His Father
This holds good also in man's daily realisation that he stands in a Work which arose out of the above-mentioned sequence of the flowing of the creative powers of the Will of God
Everything which man touches in the space of Creation is the work of God
Thus in the earthly world too all the matter out of which the world of nature is formed
If only men had rightly held to this, they could long ago have been much further also in their discoveries and in the knowledge which would have opened to them a superstructure above earthly science
If only nature and all that unfolds within it were rightly looked upon, men would soon recognise the high wisdom working in everything which surrounds them, here too upon this plane of the earthly world
For the purpose of fulfilling the Will of God there was formed by the animistic servants, precisely for the planes of the materialities, a path for the animating of the bodies of earthly creatures and for the kindling of the degree of life in its diversity and in its layering of species
Streaming across the bridge of Hiemdall, the said animistic life descends at the sign of O-dio-nar in an unending flow
In its content there is everything needful for the shaping of the forms and shapes which are known to human consciousness, but also for a great part still unknown, for in the development they are either already a thing of the past or their time is yet to come at some time in the future
Despite the multiplicity of forms, of colours and of shapes, there always prevails in the animistic animating of the earthly bodies of animals a strong connection with the law of enduring harmony
Harmony reigns in all the creating of the animistic, however many shapes it may take, from the degree of struggle in nature up to the highest accord and co-operation
For this purpose the animal souls, having their origin in the oceans of life in the gardens of Asgard, develop and thereby ennoble themselves in the manner which we can see in that part of the knowledge of the earthly development of the bodies which were permitted to dwell here in the time of the development of the Earth
To all this there serves precisely the said carefully guided stream of the influx of animistic animal souls, which like luminous seeds sink into the gross material bodies in order to animate them and to bring them, at a certain time of the maturity of the Earth, to manifestation as a part of what earthmen call the glory of the world of nature
This glory is brought to life, among other things, also by this enduring stream of animistic animal souls descending towards the gross material universe for the purpose of incarnation
Perhaps one day a trained hand of an earthly master of painting will be found for this, to capture this happening and thus to bring it, at least in small part, nearer to the earthly sight of men
It is a luminous stream, murmuring and ringing with life, like a moving, flowing waterfall which disperses above the universe and soaks into the plane of the astral prototype of the Earth, in order to unite here with the individual radiations of the prepared bodies of the animal kingdom
It is not easy to describe that livingness which is at work therein, so that life upon Earth may in every moment be pushed onward towards further development, for everything is in unceasing movement
The golden stream, like a flowing column of glass containing the soul-germs of animals, is one of the several animating animistic influxes inclining towards the materialities of the universe from the heights of Valhalla, or rather from the gardens of Asgard which spread out in terraces beneath it
The animistic guardians who co-operate in this great flowing of animistic life from the heights of Asgard to the Earth belong also to the Alphar already mentioned several times on the Way of the Grail
Their joyfulness unites with the earnestness contained in their work, which in this happening rests in the exact joining of the radiations of the individual, variously mature animal souls with the radiant threads
These, like sprouting stalks, raise themselves upwards from the germs of the prepared bodies in the bodies of animal mothers, or in warmed eggs, in spawn and in much else, wherein in matter the animal forms are permitted to develop towards life
For the right joining of the radiations there arises for this in the astral plane a delicate prototype of the subsequent earthly body
The animistic soul of the animal first flows into this picture, unites with it, literally settles and makes its home in it with delight, so that thereafter this animated astral body may slip into a close connection with the actual gross material covering of the soul
Everything happens in the most natural manner and in the highest creative, joyful co-operation of all the executive servants
It is a co-operation filled with wisdom, such as among men upon Earth we find only exceptionally, or rather such as cannot be found in the world of earthmen at all
That is because none of these servants who take part in this enduring streaming considers himself more valuable among the others
Nevertheless it is possible to perceive a certain pride and also an admirable sureness with which the nimble hands of the Alphar work, which take part in the joining of the threads
In this case two threads are here led ever closer to each other, until they can be joined into one whole animating band of the soul-animistic kind
Let us observe for a moment the picture of the joining
From above downwards there runs ahead, before the animistic soul itself, a thread issuing from its radiation
Like a luminous filament it makes its way, magnetically attracted, towards the place where the most nearly corresponding radiation in the earthly animal species is to be found
The threads of the radiation of matter in their corresponding maturity stretch their radiations upwards and thus magnetically attract the corresponding animistic soul-radiation flowing in from the oceans of life in Asgard
In the astral plane these threads then meet, and by the hands of the animistic Alphar they are carefully joined for the further development
This development is then transferred from the astral into the earthly germ of the animal, which thereafter is born, or hatches, for an independent working in the gross material covering
In one single moment there take place in this animistic fulfilling countless happenings which again and again make it possible for new animal young of all the various species and forms to awaken to life upon Earth
But there is much more of it, for just as animistic animal souls of all possible maturities sink into the earthly, so there flows to the Earth a radiant stream of unconsciously animistic particles, which likewise emerge in the most varied forms upon the soil of the gross material Earth
It is like a glimpse into an immense workshop which, without a single moment of stoppage since the beginning of its coming into being, works and weaves all the threads of radiation towards one single goal. Towards the fulfilling of the appointed task, which is experienced by every servant as the very essence of his being
The servants in the animistic are always that which they really are, for unlike men they have no reason to doubt themselves or the rightness of their task
This enables them to be genuine and also many times stronger than is the case with man in his groping search for himself
In this joyfully sure, conscious vibrating of theirs the animistic beings work as the individual links of the fulfilling of the Will of God in Creation
The life which radiates therein is the automatic interconnecting of the individual planes
Through these planes there flows and streams a multitude of radiations which always animate the planes lying somewhat lower
Here we now come to a further part of the unconsciously animistic working, which is closely bound up with life upon this Earth
More than once has the unconsciously animistic been mentioned in order to bring its task nearer, in which, just like the stream of the soul-animal animistic, it descends in order to work here
Without men realising it, they live surrounded by this great and important part, which is here also for the animating of gross matter
Just as is the case with the more conscious stream of animal souls, the unconsciously animistic radiation also flows in from the ocean of life in Asgard
Its origin is in the lowest-lying ocean, because there is contained in it the most faintly radiating sediment of the animistic in Asgard
This unconsciously animistic does not incarnate in the manner of the more developed, that is, of the already partly or even fully conscious animistic animal souls, but the stream of these particles soaks into the smallest parts of gross material life, which are to be found everywhere we look
This unconsciously animistic radiation, too, first enters the astral plane, in order thus first to animate the prototype of the gross material earthly
It is not, however, joined by individual threads, as is the case with the animal souls which as regards maturity are a good way further, but we may describe this happening as the descending of an animating mist of fine radiation which, across the bridge of the astral plane, sinks all-embracingly into the smallest particles of the material foundation of life
This material foundation we find not only in lichens, in fungi, in bacteria, in moulds, and likewise in insects and in the invertebrate creatures described by science, but above all in the still smaller particles of the individual parts of that basic acid which forms the elementary condition of every life
Wherever in the gross materiality upon Earth there is a vibration, or also some other radiation bearing within itself the needful kind of homogeneity, there at once comes the radiation of the unconsciously animistic kind, in order to bring animation upon the smallest plane
This happening takes place in every place upon Earth, no matter what the outward conditions may be
The kind of unconscious animistic radiation always finds the conditions for animating, so that by the animistic herdsmen, who are the stewards of the unconsciously animistic radiation, even the smallest life can be brought to manifestation
All the higher kinds of life are in enduring connection with this unconscious animistic radiation, they are literally enwrapped in it and permeated by it in an enduring connection without which to a certain degree they cannot be, for this life is a part of the great harmony in the world of nature just like everything else
The smallest animistic life is thus a part of the other forms of life of gross materiality and shares together in the maintaining of harmony as a whole according to the principle of radiation
Where a deflection of the radiation occurs, there at once follows a strengthening of one of the hosts of the unconsciously animistic, so that this may by its effect gradually bring about again the return of balance and of harmony
Often this happens in a manner which bears within itself the mark of the animistic, that is, a harsh demand for movement and for exertion upon that place which has shown itself as deflected out of harmony
It is always a certain principle of pressure which may be called a battle or a struggle, out of which, however, there always emerges as victor a strengthened life which can return again into the inexorably demanded balance
Men often call this battle, in their perceiving, sickness, but in reality it is the working of the unconsciously animistic for the attaining of movement which in some direction has become rigid and has thereby made it possible for the unconsciously animistic in the most varied forms to enter upon its work
For human eyes this happening comes as though out of the invisible, and only in its manifestation towards the gross material body does it become observable and above all perceptible
All this is caused by a happening which is hitherto unknown to human knowledge, for gross material instruments have not yet attained such fine degrees that in clear recognition they might penetrate into the picture which makes plain the happenings that press from the astral world into gross materiality
Earthly sight misses the stage in which the radiation of the unconsciously animistic enters into contact with the material parts of the said acid and out of this forms new life, which thereupon begins to multiply and to work in the bodily organism
This life comes at the sign of the animistic herdsmen and works in the body as an at first invisible but ever-increasing pressure towards movement, which is to help the organism to approach harmony again
It leads to the awakening of the inner powers, and above all in the case of man it is to lead right into the inner being, that is, to the rousing of movement of the soul kind and of the spiritual kind
It can happen, however, that the storm which goes on increasing through the movement thus called forth passes over into a degree in which the bodily covering attains a radiation leading to a state in which the connection with the soul covering can no longer be maintained and the latter must depart
It is never, however, a happening arising of itself, because in Creation everything is provided with a multitude of helps vibrating together in the Love of God, which as a helping radiant power is to be found everywhere and waits only for an opening to its helping streams
In all places we can find helping kinds of powers which at once set themselves in motion, provided, however, that the way to them is rightly opened on the part of man
This right opening rests in an inwardly pure humility, in which man awakens the radiation of his spirit to a greater childlikeness, which is always naturally able to draw upon the Light for the needful healing and for an overall strengthening
The said unconsciously animistic dwells enduringly in the human body and is always ready to work as soon as an opportunity for it is created
Or from without there comes the call of the animistic herdsmen for the awakening to activity of the particles slumbering until then, with which the radiation of the unconsciously animistic is connected
Thus every creature, and therefore man also, bears within himself an unimaginable multitude of these particles, which are bound up with his earthly body and dwell in it awaiting a deflection of the radiation or an outward call of the animistic herdsmen
We may say here that the human body could in reality not even exist without these particles, for these particles are inseparably embedded in it throughout its whole life
In many cases they even work to the benefit of bodily health, in that they enduringly strengthen the radiation towards mobility and towards development
The particles which hold within themselves the radiation of the unconsciously animistic kind are contained, in this part of gross materiality, in absolutely everything living and lifeless
It is not possible to free oneself from their influence, for they are a part of all life
It is possible, however, to work in accord with them, because they are at bottom neutral and begin to work only in the moment of a deflection of the balance upon the gross material plane, or also upon that of the soul and of the spirit
It may be said that all life is wholly in their power
Whether animals, plants, or indeed man himself, as a being spiritual in his origin, that is, all creatures which bear a share of gross material radiation, are throughout the whole time of their existence in this part of gross materiality within their reach and are delivered up to them for mercy or for no mercy
There is hidden therein the confirmation of the great law that what is passive in its kind of working influences the whole world most strongly
Unlike the consciously animistic, the unconsciously animistic works, in its kind of a seemingly waiting slumber, as passive within the Law of Creation
Nevertheless its real power is immense, because it works as an agent calling forth movement, in that in its presence every organism must develop movement out of itself
Where the movement is not sufficient, there the radiation is weakened, and sooner or later there is called forth a pressure which literally goes to the very edge of being and not-being
The unconsciously animistic works therein as an instrument in the hands of the Alphar
At the same time, however, the unconsciously animistic works as an instrument for the shaping of the life-path of every creature, for it is therein always the bringer of the impulse towards movement forward
And it is precisely here that the readers of the Way of the Grail can rightly recognise how the Alphar, to whom among others the animistic herdsmen of the unconsciously animistic particles also belong, bring to man the threads of fate woven beforehand out of his earlier volitions in his past by the hands of the Vaenen
Earthman, however much in his self-consciousness he deems himself the determiner of his paths, is enduringly exposed to the effects of the reciprocal radiation of his past wishes and volitions, which dwelt in him perhaps in past lives also and which as a sowing waited for the time when, under the effects of the supremely Just Laws of the Wisdom of God, they could come back into man's path for the opportunity of being lived out
He therefore has his free will in the manner in which he passes through all the experiences which return to him as the consequences of a previous existence
In reality the human spirit has a truly free will only at the very beginning of his awakening, before there arises in him the longing to taste of the richness of the experiences offered him by the field of the Subsequent Creation, into which he sank for the purpose of his path towards maturity
Every further stretch is then marked by the returning of the past
If this is good, then the free will remains more preserved in its original freedom
The more, however, the gradual tasting of the experiences of the Subsequent Creation leads to a deviation from the good, the more there range themselves at once in the path of the developing spirit experiences which influence him in return as demanding to be lived out, and thereby the spirit is already pushed upon his path by threads tautened with varying strength, which at their ends the Alphar shape into a definite kind of experiencing
And precisely one of the strong instruments for the influencing of the experiencing upon the path in this gross material world is the unconsciously animistic, which serves as a means for the shaping of the most varied manifestations of the returning of the threads
Nothing therein will help man if in his ignorance he perhaps wishes defiantly to reject it and seeks to work against it with all his stores of intellectual knowledge
He always achieves only this, that the unconsciously animistic places itself in the path of his wishes a little further on, in order nevertheless to compel him to live out what awaits him
It is never possible to postpone endlessly what is to present itself to be lived out
On the contrary, it only sharpens the measure of the experiencing, because man is in the end entangled therein like a creature in the net which he himself has woven
The more he thrashes about in this net, the more it draws itself together around him and takes from him the possibility of escape
In the end it reaches him after all, in order to bring the great adjustment of everything which has meanwhile accumulated in waiting for the opportunity of return
And it is precisely the unconsciously animistic which therein works admirably justly
Because in Creation nothing is an end in itself for one thing alone, so precisely in that working the unconsciously animistic itself also awakens the more, in vibrating together with the service to the Laws of Creation, and can then return by an ascending stream back into one of the animistic oceans in the gardens of Asgard
Here it unites with a further influx of radiation, until there begins to grow in it ever more strongly the vibration towards further consciousness, and thereby there can come about gradually an ever greater condensing of the radiation, until there is formed an animistic soul-germ of the weakest kind, which already belongs to one of the smallest animals
Thereby the development is continually pushed forward, and thereby also the animistic part of the Subsequent Creation itself is permitted to attain a higher consciousness
Consciousness is for all life in the Creation of God a blessing which strengthens towards a higher degree of the experiencing of joy and of co-operation
With this basic description of the flowing of animistic life into the gross material planes of the Subsequent Creation there is shown only the smallest section of an otherwise glorious happening, perfectly fitted into itself, which is enduringly shaped for the one goal for which it was created – for the blessed development of the human spiritual sparks towards their gradual attaining of perfection, which alone makes possible the entry into the Light-irradiated gardens of the spiritual home
For yet one important thing has today's description of the flowing of the animistic into the gross material planes now been given
We find ourselves in a time in which everything is ever more strengthened towards movement under the power of the Ray of Parzival drawing near to this part of the universe of the world-section of Ephesus
The drawing near of this power will now, with decisive effect, call forth such happenings as have hitherto never been experienced by men here upon Earth
And it is precisely the working of the unconsciously animistic kind which therein will yet have a fundamental manifestation with every one of men
In its mission, which it bears within itself and which is strengthened by the Light drawing near to the Earth, it will now manifest itself through those smallest parts of the acid of life as the foundation for the awakening of a great movement everywhere where with man some deflection out of balance and harmony prevails
This will bring much unexpected happening, compared with which the experiencing of men upon Earth in the last two years has been nothing
It will come, however, otherwise than many a man expects in his deductions from his own experiences
It will not come from without, but on the contrary from within
In every one of men there are awakened the vibrations of the particles which are enduringly bound up with the unconsciously animistic radiation, which now in its passive task will place itself in the path of man's striving hitherto
Thereby there will arise a collision and a movement which will be equal to a storm
It will cease only in this, that either harmony is again attained or the path hitherto entered upon comes to an end
The unconsciously animistic works therein as an instrument which knows no deviation from the result to which it was called and from which it will not draw back
This result is the enduring balance in the existence of every creature in the sense of its harmonious vibrating together with the whole of the work of Creation, as has already for a long time been announced
There is no other way, for anyone
Either a voluntary ranging of oneself into the vibrations of Creation in consonance with it, as man as a spiritual creature is to stand in the Laws of God upon this Earth, or else the collision which will bring the opportunity for awakening, but also ruin and destruction
Every flash bearing within itself the manifestation of sincerity and of genuineness in the striving for consonance with the harmony of the work of Creation opens for the spirit an influx of helps out of the Love of God, which, just like the Justice of God, has its enduring place in the Grail upon the summit of the work of Creation
Everything is in the hands of each individual man, who for himself now has the possibility, in full application, of manifesting his pure path towards harmony through his awakened intuitive perception
And therefore the unconsciously animistic radiation in the hands of the Alphar will now work ever more in the service to which it was called already decades ago by the primordially created Mercury
In its invisibility and apparent nothingness it will, however, in spite of all human conceptions, become the strongest strengthener towards the spiritual awakening of millions of men
To this Earth there now flows in that enduring animistic stream from the heights of the gardens beneath Valhalla the adjustment which, in the strengthening through the Ray of Parzival, will also bring the fulfilment of many happenings towards the Holy Judgment of God
