The Circling of the Word, the Working of the Holy Word in Creation

The hand holding the writing instrument glides in light movements over the paper

The trace of the stylus leaves behind the shape of letters, of words, of sentences, of paragraphs

Yet these are not words of the earthly kind, but it is the imprint of a radiation which bears within itself the touch of Divine eternity

It is not words of the earthly kind that are here being captured, but it is the Word of the Lord

It is not speech merely in an earthly form, but it is a down-flowing living stream, gushing forth high in the primordially eternal spring of the Grail

A pillar of mighty Light rising above the writer into the heights tremblingly bounds a power of the Divine kind, and through the delicate channels of words and of concepts it flows in and plunges, with its resonance, into the sphere of gross materiality

The Power shines, glimmers, sparkles and in a circling movement surrounds the writer

It is not the earthly kind of writing, it is not man who writes this, but it is the very essence of the Divine Light, filled with a shining, blinding lustre, having the form of a living flame, of a liquid glowing crystal, which now has the form of a king, now of a hero in bright armour, now of a priest in the blessed robe of the first servant of God

Above the writer, in the pillar of Light, in Its sacred union there hovers a snow-white picture, wherein there blend, in a living happening, the Holy Dove with the outflying rays of a golden shining cross

The cross gushes forth also out of His figure and offers to the seeing one a picture which compels him to sink fervently upon his knees in prayer

The Son of Man fulfils His Holy task

Living is the happening, for the worlds are spanned, and here also, in the gross material around us, there spreads out the lustre of the Divine trembling

The words flow in upon the paper and bear within them the echo of the worlds

Their effect flies through the spheres, forges new forms, and into the forms already existing it brings healing, liberation, salvation

As in the impact of a mighty, creative energy, every new word flies asunder into the distances like unto a shock wave, which is at once a proclamation, a refreshment and a judging stroke

In every word and sentence thus written there are contained whole hosts of forms of living happenings, which in obedience to the Son of Man range themselves into the principles of the Law of the Will of God, which is contained in every touch of the pen upon the paper

The principle of the Laws, which unfolds from the Holiness of the Will of God, is the bearer of all happening and penetrates into all the variants of life which have ever arisen and which will yet arise in the work of this Creation

Words of the earthly kind range themselves one beside the other and in a wise succession they shine luminously and become the Word

The Word is appointed for every one of the spirits who are living in the work of Creation, for it is the Holy Word

Every human spirit who will be preserved may draw out of the Word the strength for his eternity of being

The Word is for all creatures, beings and forms, and this because it is the Word of Life

The Word is for all happenings – the Word is creating and working in everything

No one is omitted, no one is left aside in the wholeness of the all-wise Word of the Light

Nothing remains aside, for all is in its essence contained in the Divine Word, from the beginning of the sounding “Let there be Light”

Perfection lies in the aliveness of the original, supra-earthly Light, which flows into the forms of earthly words

Perfection and earthly words – here is the first obstacle, which retards and narrows the very aliveness of the Divine contained within the earthly

From time to time there shakes the writer the pressure of a pain which has its origin in the rigidity of words and of concepts, which are not able to encompass the aliveness pouring into them out of the Holy Power, through the delicate channels and conduits that have been formed

Earthly words in their immobility are not able to receive the greatness of the real Word of Truth, streaming out of the Divinely unsubstantiate spring of Life

Oh, would that it were possible to capture more

But where is more aliveness to be found in the limited earthly terminology

All in the earthly is rigid, so far behind the aliveness of the Light which inclines itself down out of the Divine starting-point

The thoughts run in pictures, and the writer beholds the scenes of the future human lack of understanding, which will turn aside from that which is here captured in earthly words for the inner being of the spirit

The writer sees how the words captured earthly by him will become an instrument whereby, in the immaturity and the incomprehension of the men drawing near, they will often serve only the conceit and the pride of the intellect, as has already been the case so many times

Once again the Word, captured in only approximately corresponding earthly words, will be delivered into the hands of the still more ponderous thinking of men

Oh, how narrowed is all this, and how only the smallest droplets of the Light will reach the inner being of the human spirit, through the rankness of his thinking manner of reflection

Who among men will strive to swing himself up with his spirit towards the radiance of the Word in its real essence

The Lord perceives a cooling stream descending to Him out of the Lovingness of God the Father

Comfort comes with the Divine sounding of the heavens

“It is the Living Word of the Divine kind, which at the same time immediately judges and sifts baseness from nobility, superficiality from the inward work of the spirit in intuitive perception”

It is the Holy Word, demanding that everyone draw near to it independently, for himself, with a humility and a genuineness such as only the fervent inner being of man can bring to the surface, through his intuitive perception

Every, every single word contained in the Word is a gift, is a gateway to a blessed awakening, if only the power anchored within it is purely made use of

Thus the human spirit needs to penetrate into the vibrations streaming behind the words of the earthly kind

He needs to drink from this stream, by receiving its wholeness and penetrating to the principles wherein the Word is to be found

Whoever reads the Word with his inner being finds himself in a circling ring of Light

His spirit is raised above material thinking and may then irradiate his robe in the radiance of the rays pouring forth out of the Word

If he does not strive to make use of this helping circling about him for a pure and noble being, then the Word will become for him, out of a helper, a judge

It will be a judge to him himself, just as to another, through his fervour and his pure humility in the inner being it will remain a helper and a protector upon his way

It still holds good that those who but yesterday were the first may become the last, and the present last will be in their place, among the first

The writer, overwhelmed by the shining streams of the Divine blessing, captures and describes ever new perils of the way which lies before the human spirit, to lead him to the spiritual home

“My Son, lay the Word of Truth high upon the rock, that everyone must exert himself towards it, for it is now My command that in the movement of the spirit men show themselves worthy of My graces!”

Thus it sounds and circles about Parzival and Imanuel in one person, the united ray of Light in an earthly body

Let us let the picture of the Living happening arise: the Lord hands to the human spirit the Divine Word, which holds good for all ages

May this penetrate into the inner being of the spiritual spark in man

In every single earthly word, in every sentence, there shines and streams the Word of the Lord

The human spirit needs to approach the Word in pure prayer, in the living working endeavour of his intuitive perception

Whoever slides into superficiality and to whom the Word becomes commonplace, he lets his most precious rescue be snatched from him, even at the last moment, by the rigid earthly world

Whoever slides still lower, and to whom the Word becomes an instrument for attacking others, for assailing them, he transforms the circling forces of the grace-filled help into a vortex which at last slips out of his hands and thrusts him into the depths, far removed from the Light

Whoever does not find in the Word a support for helping and for doing good, whoever has not found within himself the strength to act nobly, honourably and justly, he has not understood that most fundamental part which the Lord offers him in the Word, as a rescuing rope in the present time upon the Earth

Everyone goes forth from his own plane of maturity, ascends from the place which his spirit has hitherto reached

That is the foundation which is to be honoured

Out of it all is to develop further towards the Light

Let us bear in mind the diversity in the maturity of human spirits, because the Word holds good also for the others, upon their degree of understanding

The inner genuineness of the endeavour towards the bettering of oneself is the key to the union with the Divine Word

True exertion, the struggle of man to be better, that is many times more precious than to fulfil outward rules and orderings without the living participation of the spirit

The love-filled help of man offered to others upon their way, that is the best that sounds in accord with the original Principle of Truth, of the Holy Word

The Word circles about the spirit of every man and knocks, asking for entrance within

Who will open his inner being to the Word lies only and solely with each one of us
