Every man carries within himself the capacity to recognise beauty, to perceive its blissful harmony, to swing in harmony with it, to partake in it through his own creating and forming
Through his spiritual constitution, through the spiritual spark which he has within himself out of the nature of his human spiritual kind, everyone is permitted also to use and to unfold this receptivity for beauty
Blessing out of the Light flows to all who have not lost this gift in their innermost and who use it, for they carry within themselves the receptivity which joins them with the vibrations of the work of Creation, wherein beauty is inseparable from every moment of life
Joyful people, who perceive beauty and draw out of it strengthening for themselves and for others
In all that in its origin arose out of the foundation of the creating of the animistic servants there is contained the original true beauty
This beauty in the universes of matter here draws its inspirations out of the higher kind of the finer spheres of the ethereal and the animistic degrees, and above all out of the planes of the spiritual parts themselves of the work of Creation
In every particle which arises out of the creative work of the animistic servants in the Subsequent work of Creation there is laid the foundation of beauty, out of which everything is permitted, and also is meant, to develop higher towards the whole harmony and perfection of its kind
This key lies here upon the earth in all healthy, natural creating
All that is formed in the pure animistic working carries within itself a certain kind of harmony, which is connected with the harmony of shapes and forms known to men, wherein the rule of the golden section may be found
Hereto belong the plants and the animals, the mysterious realm of the insects as yet not wholly known by men, but also all the working of the elements in their expressions
Hereto belongs also the human body, which is the vessel making possible here upon the earth the development of the real nature of the human ego – of the spiritual innermost
Every earthly body of man thus carries within itself the presupposition of a development towards a certain degree of harmony and beauty
This harmony is, however, conditioned by the accord between the spiritual innermost and the outward constitution of the body
Where there is no complete harmony, according to the set conditions of the animistic working, there true beauty and harmony will ever be denied to man, that beauty which in the feminine kind expresses itself in the pure charm of delicacy and in the masculine kind in a certain brisk strength and energy
Yet here there is not meant only the outward forming of the body, as it might perhaps at first sight appear, but here there is held as an inseparable part of beauty above all the sparkle of the eyes and the radiance of a pure smile upon the countenance
Where the spiritual innermost is contained as it is precisely and solely meant rightly and livingly to express itself in the body, we can in the first place ever observe the presence of this living innermost in the eyes and in the bright features upon the face of man
Through these parts of the earthly body the spirit works most markedly and also most directly
Here precisely can the true beauty of the innermost of man step forth most livingly
The presence of the inner liveliness and beauty of man may ever be recognised in this, that the freshness of the spiritual spark permeates the coverings even into the materiality here through the brightness and the childlike merriment in the eyes, and at the same time also forms the features of the countenance into joyfulness
In the eyes the radiance of beautiful childlikeness can flame up most swiftly
In the lines of the countenance, in the features and also in the formed wrinkles one may observe the long-lasting effect of the spirit
Whoever learns to work with this recognition easily finds his way at first glance among other men
It is well-nigh a certainty that in the mentioned expressions of the childlike radiance of the eyes the state of the spiritual innermost of man may be recognised
Nothing therein can be changed by anyone through a learned skill of the intellect, nor through the straining of a conscious endeavour to will to appear "childlike and joyful", but in the expression of the eyes and of the lines of the countenance there is ever brightly inscribed the imprint of the real spiritual innermost, which can be deceived by nothing, nor can it be replaced
Thus we may find here upon the earth men with a beautiful, symmetrical body out of which from afar there may be perceived the enchanting animistic gift of beauty, yet observed from near at hand this outward bodily beauty is often wholly shortened of the pure brightness in the eyes and in the countenance, which then, without a spark and without a sign of real spiritual joy in life, work absently and expressionlessly, or radiate the heaviness and the painfulness of that which for a long time takes place in the thoughts of such a man
The lines of the countenance and of the lips of such otherwise bodily beautiful people are today, alas, very often clenched into a narrow cramp, and however much in women there is as a rule laid upon them artificially a quantity of colours for their emphasis, there is lacking in them that forming which only inner joyfulness and love towards other men and towards the whole of Creation is able to irradiate
Such a drawn countenance, or wearied, startled, or on the contrary irritated eyes are a sign of the heaviness which such a man experiences, and thereby it is possible to divine that the spirit is sleeping, or is confused, not knowing the right direction in which it is to proceed in the course of the things wherein it finds itself in life
Unhappy are such people if their otherwise enchanting outward beauty of the body is impoverished of the inner light of their living spiritual innermost
They need help, although outwardly in life they often endeavour to appear self-confidently strong and sure
They give themselves the air, and they also say, that they know life and that which it brings them, but in reality they are only dragged along by events without hope of an issue
Their suffering, or perhaps even sleeping innermost bears witness to the forgetting of the true beauty which gushes solely out of a life full of intuitive perception, consciously experienced, wherein there is the bright recognition of the direction towards the ascent of the spiritual innermost
Thus a great part of men bear upon themselves the evident sign of a complete forgetting of all this and appear often only as outwardly adorned vessels, suffering from the loss of real inner greatness and beauty
Beside this we may then at the same time find here upon the earth people with bodily defects which seemingly shorten them of outward physical beauty, yet their inner joy and purity shines out of their eyes, and their smile ever helps their fellow men without hesitation in the transmitting of hope and of the promise of a better future
The gracefulness of movements and the inner freshness are also a part of beauty, which ever bears witness to the true inner liveliness of such a man
There may therefore be people outwardly beautiful, yet the stiffness of their movements, their ponderousness and their literal, lifeless dragging of themselves through life takes from their beauty that which is most precious – the sign of the soaring of the spirit
And on the contrary, we may see people who are perhaps even dependent upon a stick in their walking, or who cannot otherwise move freely, and yet in their smallest gestures there is something soaring, something tender, or also something knightly and self-mastering, despite the seeming outward limitation
Where then is that essence of beauty to be sought, when there are here such great differences between men, and in their learned perceiving almost none of the men of today take notice of these differences
The answer lies in the essence of the first impression of inner beauty in the eyes and in the countenance, in the movements
Those who received physical beauty as a dower for their present life have, as the holders of the beautiful instrument of the physical vessel, a great and exalted duty – to impress upon this outward beauty also the inner, spiritual beauty, if they do not already do so in their striving
They are to seek and to endeavour to fill the outward gift of the graceful beauty of the body with the inner harmony and joyfulness of the spirit
Those, then, who for some reason are shortened in their outward gifts have the possibility all the more fully to concentrate upon the form of inner beauty, for their inner progress will be mirrored ever more in the wisdom and the wider view with which they are permitted to stride through life
No one of men needs, nor is he to, envy others anything of that which it seems they received as a gift in addition
Away at last with the ingrained embitterment over the injustice of the world, for no one receives into his life anything which is not to profit him
Prejudices formed out of the suppositions that other men are unjustly in a better position in life and that it should not be so, because it seems to be unjust, are a poison corroding in the man who thinks thus all his ability one day to attain the state of inner peace and harmony
His own abilities and gifts, under this distorted view of life, only collapse more and more into discontent, and thereby such a man excludes himself from the supporting rhythm of the Laws of Creation, which bring help and strengthening only to him who strives after ascent with pure humility and inner littleness
In the diversity of the earthly appearance of individual men there work the threads of a high weaving, which knows best what earthly body will be the most fitting for the spirit upon the way of his development in the given earthly life
This holds good in every respect and under all circumstances
The highest justice works in the labour of the animistic servants, who with the highest carefulness form the earthly vessel for the incarnation of the spirit into the earthly world
Nothing is formed unjustly, and everything carries within itself the touch of the cause of that which is past
At the same time, however, in every covering there slumbers the issue of healing and of ennobling
The glorious animistic servant Herfeline adds to every incarnating spirit upon his way the starting point of a streaming wherein there lies the possibility of a great ascent and of an even miraculous transformation of the given bodily covering, of its healing and of its ennobling
Only the will of man himself, in a pure and humble striving after a change for the better, opens to the mentioned streaming from Herfeline the way for a blessing to join itself with his earthly path, a blessing which is able to change much, even that which appears unchangeable
It is therefore thus, that the creating of the natural beauty and health of the earthly vessel of man lies solely and only in his own hands
To ennobling and to real beauty there leads a way beginning in the inward flaring up of the spiritual spark
This spark then gives inner light and freshness to all the other coverings of the spirit, and thus at last also to the earthly body itself
Out of the innermost outwards there streams the power laid in man in his spirit, which is the very own volition of his ego
In this power, which expresses itself in fulness of intuitive perception and in the presence of conscience in every moment of life, lies the starting point for the happiness and the health of the body itself
At the same time, however, everyone can seek a way to help his physical body to greater suppleness, mobility and freshness
He who gives up, whether it be the inner work upon himself, upon his attunement of joy and the experiencing of the present with intuitive perception, or when someone shortens his physical dispositions in indolence and in a lazy embitterment that nothing has any worth, therein the one and the other transgress
For both there were made ready by the animistic servants helps which were to be used and carried forward in the enthusiastic co-creating of beauty on the part of man
All men are surrounded by principles of help which hover around them and give them the opportunity for ascent
The exalted Efredite, working through love and through the being in love, extends to man a helping hand to change himself, to make a marked progress out of love for a beloved human being
In movement, which is held in a certain degree of watchfulness and of freshness, there adds to man upon his way a helping streaming the principle wherein there work the rulers of the elements, Neptune, Orkanos, Sirius, and also all the servants and handmaidens of the beautiful Erda
Everything can be unfolded into beauty, wherein the creative power of the spirit of man is the greatest artist, who creates out of the real, true foundation of a living kind – out of high spiritual power
Through the work upon his innermost every man makes it possible for the helping rays to stream to him, which at last bring healing and the becoming luminous to every earthly body, so far as is made possible for him by the wise Justice of God working in the Laws of Creation
Thus precisely all those who will to belong to the Circles of the Peaceful are, in their wise recognition of the great connections of the threads of the returning past, to stride consciously through their present life
In patient striving after progress in their innermost they are to receive every change in the body for the better as a greeting of the blessed working of the High animistic Herfeline
They are also to lead to this recognition all who indeed in their ignorance still strike against the effects of the threads invisible to earthly eyes, but who already begin seriously to reflect upon the meaning of all this
With simple plainness and intelligibility there is to be pointed to the existence of the great and incorruptible Law of Reciprocal Action, which fulfils in the lives of men the just expressions of all that has its cause in the past and which, precisely in the material thinking of a great part of men today, is hidden from their earthly sight
For many a one this recognition can yet bring a freeing from the bitterness of experiencing a supposed injustice, as it is generally looked upon in superficiality by many
Thereby more than one man may be protected from the new knotting of threads which are formed through the rejection of the state experienced by men as the bitter reality of their earthly path
Recognition today brings liberation from the heavy threads which are knotted again and again in the manner of the thinking and the acting of men in the present life
This recognition is still too far removed from the inert reasoning of many men
Out of this there then arise discords and strains which create between men tension and disharmony
None of such men can ever find peacefulness and peace in the present manner of looking upon life
Men will ever be unfree, because their unfreedom has its cause in their severance from the great wisdom which trembles through the work of Creation and which demands a higher striving in thinking and in intuitive perceiving from every single spiritual personality
Now, however, there comes the time when all human doing is first to proceed out of the comprehension of the Laws of Creation
By the comprehension of these Laws there is also conditioned the partaking in the true beauty which streams through the whole work of Creation and which is lastingly ready to stream to every man
We live today in a time when the most important step towards the finding of an issue out of the tension between men lasting thousands of years is at last the recognition of the principle of the Lovingness of God, which leads the individual first to the comprehension of the Laws of Creation and thereafter to the comprehension of the whole glorious work of Creation
This recognition leads man simply and directly to the attaining of the true blessing of the state of enlightenment, which lies in the pure and radiant ripeness of the innermost
May such men increase upon this earth
The beauty dwelling in their innermost and also outwardly will then be a great inspiration for the further souls coming to the earth
