THE WAY OF THE GRAIL – SUPPLEMENTARY TEXTS – July 23, 2020

The morning should be begun with a fervent prayer, for every new day is a new opportunity in our experiencing

For every new day upon this earth there comes to us power out of the Source of Life in Creation, out of the Grail

Without man being aware of it, he too lives only thanks to this spring of life-giving Power which descends out of the heights to the universe here

The Power enters into Creation at the summit in the Grail, whither it flows out of the Divine Light, from the Loving Holy God, as a radiating forth of His Lovingness towards the work of Creation and towards all the inhabitants found in this work

That Power makes it possible for life to endure and to give to men the possibility of a continuation in the unrolling of their days experienced in this earthly existence

Quickened by the planes of the luminous heights, this power descends for the lasting enlivening of the spheres of the lower material worlds, in order to form the conditions for the creatures for life in them

In every single part of Creation it creates and weaves the course of things, and in its unceasing flowing it spins strictly, according to the Laws of Creation, the threads of fate for all life

The bliss of the power contained in the threads descends and creates, forms, builds, but also unbinds, severs, shatters and dissolves, according as it is, exactly after the principle of the Holy Justice, profitable and needful to this or to that creature for his partaking in Creation

In every part, in every plane it is different, it has another likeness, another shift and development

Thus this power spins the threads at last also for all life which is found in the planes of the Subsequent work of Creation

From above downwards it flows out of the planes of the Primordial Creation in vibrations of pure joy ever lower, even into the planes where in the work of the Subsequent Creation this stream finds ever more differing forms, leading from joy and lightness even to a fulness of toil and heaviness, as it is desired by the just working of the Laws of Creation

In the world part of Ephesus, in the part of the gross material universe here, the mentioned stream of power brings movement to the bodies of the stars, and with this movement a rhythmic changing of the outward picture of happenings, such as we know it from the observation of matter

Upon this earth there is joined with this cycle the turning of the earth, wherein there is hidden a differing streaming of radiation which comes with the turning in the direction of the disc of the sun and thereafter in the setting of the face of the earth towards the distant stars in the time of night

In every movement of the planet there is formed a concurrence of radiations which in their uniqueness are never repeated again

The cycle of days and nights upon the earth is an alternation of the powers streaming to all creatures, and every day is in this respect a certain independent chapter in the unrolling of the happenings and forms which we experience as one unbroken stream of our earthly life

Dwelling upon this earth, through the fact that we have taken over from our surroundings into our reasoning a certain superficiality and dullness in the upbringing in our approach to life, we are not able to be aware of that unique preciousness of every moment wherein there meet here, for the whole of mankind, precious energies in the threads of fate, offering in the right experiencing progress and development towards the ascent of all spirits

Everyone who is upon the earth has, in the wise working of the Loving Greatness of God, the possibility of a spiritual ascent made ready for him

The condition therein is one single step – the awakening of the innermost and a striding forth towards a new, pure acting towards other men

In this setting there is then made ready of itself for everyone, through the Laws of Creation, all that is needful for his further advancing forward towards the Light

Few know what this or that day will really bring them, few divine what is made ready for them

Whether the day which comes with the daybreak after the night will not in something be decisive, whether it will not bring a fundamental turn in the course of life, in that it suddenly brings a deflection from the ways purposefully set by man until that moment

Although seemingly the single days bind themselves one to another and create the impression of a continuous flow, such as we experience it and such as they are named as the days of the week in their ordering one after another in their repetition, never is any day the same as the preceding one, no hour is repeated, indeed no moment is even in the smallest part identical with the preceding moment, for in the flowing of the power out of the Holy Grail everything changes itself irreversibly, like a gushing stream of ever new happening

Thus it holds good that what is now will in a moment already be the past, wherein there remains only the imprint of the radiation of our existence here in this part of the gross matter

The daily radiance of the sun moves the course of things with its rhythm, and again the nightly streaming from the stars brings a shift in its own kind of setting

When we lie down, our spirit is permitted with the coming of sleep to experience the closing of one day, and at the same time he is to be made ready for the transition into a new day

It is an important moment of comprehension in the consciousness that the new day will already be other than the preceding one was

That is because the radiation of the preceding day is the past, and the new day brings new opportunities in its changed kind of radiation

The awakening is a rebirth, a re-incarnation, it is the return of the spirit into the new radiation brought by the shining of the sun in the daybreak of the morning

The spirit, strengthened by sleep, when he was permitted to loosen himself from the body and to draw in other planes strengthenings for his development, returns with the awakening into the earthly consciousness, into the new day

Seemingly everything is the same, and at first sight almost nothing has changed

At the same time, however, that which is fundamental for the spiritual progress of man has changed – there is here a new streaming of the radiation of power in this part of the universe

Man rises into a new setting of existence, to which in the new day there stream to him powers of a new kind, new threads join themselves which ask for their use in experiencing

The masters of the spirit of ancient days upon the earth knew that power of opportunity which inclined itself to their new entering into the day

In the streaming which came to them they recognised what task was made ready for them in this or that day, and they recognised clearly what radiation brought them a strengthening for a shift in some matter

Thus one day brings streams for activity in matter through the strength of the arms, another day brings a strengthening for the turning inward and the unfolding of the spirit, another again for a shift in the solving of tasks with other men, a further one carries within itself particular strengthenings for the healing of the body, a further one again something else important for the unbinding of the threads out of the past

Everything also interweaves itself in the flowing of the hours of the day, and it depends only upon us what we use as a fresh strengthening for our striding through the day

There is ever here a movement which does not let the man who holds for himself the freshness of the spirit sink into the everyday immobility which is experienced by millions of men in the seeming outward repetition of hours, of days, of weeks, of months

Every moment in the hours of the day is another, a new one, mediating the opportunity of a shift forward

Every day is a wholly new chapter for the spirit in his development

There is here no halting, there is here no possibility of stepping out of this rhythm

There is here for our spirit only one choice – the use, or the missing

What is missed, in the passing by of a precious opportunity, finds a new blessing in an influx of power for its returning often only after a long time, perhaps after years, after decades, yet possibly also never again in the given earthly life

To become a master of the spirit means to perceive and to receive the mentioned radiations in the moment of the present, fully to use them for the joy of others and for the ascent of one's own inner personality

This, however, is not a matter of a cramped concentration, but it is possible to realise it only in a "flying flow upon the wave of the spirit"

This flowing brings joy, courage and also the ability not to let a single opportunity for the weaving of harmonious threads with other men escape

Every one of men has already been permitted to experience it, even though it were but a moment in his life

The inner power joined itself in him in that moment with joy, and everything around flowed in a precious uniting into one glorious harmonious whole

It was that time when everything fitted together, and that which a moment before had no issue and no solution suddenly set out upon a way which brought an unbelievable clearing up in all urgent matters

To perceive the radiation of the day, to be able to attune oneself to its streams, is a matter of the inner brightness in man

A part of this brightness is the knowledge of the great gearwork turning in the work of Creation

A prayer of thanks to the Creator in the morning time of the day is the way to the right attuning to this knowledge, that it may remain in man for all the moments of the day

In prayer the spirit finds for himself the attunement also to the right perceiving of all that comes with the new day

Thus inwardly become luminous and armed, man masters all the events of the day which await him

Far away are blown all the thoughts of the oppressively repeating duties awaiting man perhaps in his daily occupation

In the new attunement he discovers that he let that deadening everydayness of the view upon the flowing days be forced upon him by other men and by their superficial opinions, and that he himself is in truth able to look forward to that which awaits him in the time of every day, be it at work or at rest

In work he suddenly finds a multitude of opportunities to express to others his joyfulness and his sparkling creative power

And after work there is here again a multitude of opportunities to learn to perceive the world with the right view – with the view of the spirit striving forward upon the way to the Light

There is here not even a moment leading to idleness and to the dull receiving of that which the greater part of the interests of men today offers in its severance from the whole of the work of Creation

Joy and creative power are a part of the right attunement of the spirit for every day

All this is hidden in the streaming of the powers which flow lastingly through the universe to the earth, in order to bestow upon the men dwelling here all that is needful for their ascent

Why then will men not seek it, why will they not accept the personal responsibility for all that happens to them in the everydayness of their experiencing

In the right attunement of the spirit every day brings a multitude of opportunities for the laying aside of the threads of the past and for the opening of new ways leading to inner strengthening and to wisdom

Every single day is therein unrepeatable

Every single day may be perceived as one particular, small incarnation of our spirit

From the moment of the awakening in the morning time to the rest in the time of sleep, it is ever the passing away of one small part of the opportunity of life which offered itself through the whole time of the day

And indeed there may be experienced in the time of one day much, very much that helps the spirit, if he goes through the present with open eyes in the right attunement

It is like one piece of life which opened itself with the dawn and closed itself again at the time of the coming of the night

Every day is thus a great moment of rebirth for the continuation upon the way of the spirit

It is in the highest degree needful to occupy oneself with this and to receive into one's innermost this picture, for in the time of the single days there flows precisely and solely the time of the whole of our earthly existence, which draws near to the grave moment of the transition into further spheres in the laying aside of the precious instrument of the earthly body

Let us not miss this time, which is a great, perhaps the last opportunity for the ascent of our spirit

Whoever occupies himself with this surely knows that precisely the prayer of thanks experienced in the morning awakening after the night that has flowed away is the best, indeed the most needful entering into the new day

A prayer of thanks to the Holy God for His Lovingness, wherewith with every new day He gives to man the opportunity to advance further upon the way to the true home, in the spiritual planes of Creation lastingly irradiated with Light

And precisely those who long to belong to the Circles of the Peaceful, who are one day to be the salt of the earth, who are to become luminous flames in the dusk of the ignorance of the human groping upon the earth today, precisely they are to occupy themselves with this, for it is important for themselves and also for the many people who in hope await the exemplariness of their way through life
