Towards the Earth there draws near a wall of Light, which brings pressure upon all life

The mentioned wall is formed of an impenetrable luminous rampart, which contains one thing alone – legions of animistic warriors working under the leadership of Hareiars, who in faithfulness to Parzival is now near the Earth, for the strengthening of the effect of the Will of God

With the human spirit this ever-strengthening pressure narrows the space of his hitherto free will and brings to him the demand to conform to that Will which is incomparably stronger than he himself

As this space narrows, the space to which many have grown accustomed in its freedom lasting through millennia, as to a space destined for boundless human caprice, and which they still take as a matter of course to be one in which they may do whatever they themselves deem fit, so precisely this present narrowing of the boundaries of that space will suddenly awaken in them a great astonishment

And it will go further, and out of astonishment there will come dismay and horror, for the greatest part of mankind is not in the least prepared for something higher to enter into their life which will deprive them of their hitherto existing claims upon their way of living

Yet this time the pressure of the wall of the luminous warriors will not yield even by the smallest measure, and will in the end crush within man and around man all that does not submit to it

It will crush both that which at the beginning sets itself in anger against it, and that which afterwards, following the first bitter experience, will seek by every means to dodge aside

Only that which changes and takes into itself a new approach to life, only that will be able to stand, and only then will the pressure of the wall no longer be felt as unpleasant, but precisely as refreshing, with a strengthening influx of great helps

Narrow, very narrow is the gate towards which all will be directed, so that whatever still remains upon Earth must in the end bow down and make itself small, if it would pass through this gate into the new age

In reality, however, it is not so hard, for the most important thing for it lies within every creature, in its foundation of pure radiance

With man it is the pure radiation of his spiritual spark within his inner being

He who is able to penetrate through the layer of thoughts into his inner being will discover that what the Will of God now demands of him is only the laying aside of all the cramped rigidity built upon the conceit of the intellect, and that the demanded change is a return to the naturalness of spiritual, childlike trust in the guidance of God

Childlike trust in the good, freed from all the human thoughts grafted on by the intellect as to how the world ought to look according to the opinion of man, is the foundation out of which true humility before the Will of God can grow within man

It is a return to the original simplicity of being, in which man supports himself with his pure trust upon the Laws of God and upon their wise guidance in all things

However simple this ought to be, for the greatest part of mankind today it is an exceedingly difficult turning

It is the hardest thing that awaits well-nigh every man, for this simple state is, owing to the strengthened dominance of the intellect, no longer recognised, and moreover there almost always mingles into it a certain kind of impure inclination, according to what men bear within themselves in their most varied weaknesses

Childlike pure trust in the good that comes from God is at the same time that decisive passage of the gate which determines who will enter into the new age here upon Earth

It is a very narrow gate from the view of the man of today, and at the same time it is in reality a very free and passable entrance for every one who has kept within himself that childlike pure trust in the greatness of God

Together with complete forgiveness towards all fellow men whom man was ever permitted to meet, childlike pure trust in the Wisdom of God is the most important thing to which every one needs to fight his way within himself

To fight his way, because no one's intellect makes it easy for him, and it is always ready to bring thoughts which undermine either the will of man to forgive another, or which cast doubt upon that childlike pure trust in all that comes from God

The gate into the new age is the place towards which everything now moves in the narrowing of the side boundaries

Thus through this gate every one will finally have to pass who lays claim to the continuation of life upon this Earth

Today it may still seem as something at which many a man may smile, yet those who bear within themselves a higher capacity of receptivity through intuitive perception already sense that this grave time is near

It is a matter of course that all this will be spread over the length of years

Yet no one knows exactly when in this time the Touch of the Light will step up to him himself, in order to ask with gravity “What manner of man art thou”

None of us knows how everything will manifest itself in the threads of our fate, when the hour will come in which we shall have to prove with all our strength that that childlike pure trust in the good of God is anchored within us in a self-evident manner in our conduct

And it is precisely the Circles of the Peaceful who for this transformation are armed with the Word of Truth from Parzival, and who have therefore every condition that nothing should be lacking to them in the straining of the forces of their spirit towards the ascent

Therefore it is to be the Circles of the Peaceful who through their example will form for many men the prototype of the manner in which one can today walk upon Earth in a pure, spiritual way under all circumstances

For themselves there will lie in this a strengthening which will let them advance ever more swiftly and more freely upwards towards the Light

Thus it will happen to many of them that they do not even notice it, and in the ardour of their striving in helping their fellow men they will already have passed through the gate without being aware of it

His spirit will thereafter, in the jubilant joy of his inner being, extol the Creator

The Laws of God, whose effects many will hold to be incomprehensible, severe and restricting, and demanding blind submission, he will experience as loving support and help, without finding one single restriction upon his own personality

And it is precisely that childlike pure trust which will lead him through the gate with ease and simplicity, however hard many others may strike against its edges with the accusing cry that for them the gate is too narrow and humiliating

It will be nothing other than the cry of the intellect, which from an earthly servant of the spiritual inner being has exalted itself into a leader, without at the same time acknowledging the course of the Laws as the Primordially Eternal, Wise Will of God has ordained them from all eternity

Those who will be able to enter through the gate into the new age will not lament that such intellectual men must in the end remain before the gate, striking against it

They would only bring the old orders into the new development, and would thereby swiftly defile and destroy again all that, in the cleansing by the animistic servants, will await the spiritually awakened men upon Earth in splendour and beauty

Those who enter into the new will feel themselves unspeakably free, reborn

In full draughts they will experience the resurrection of new life upon Earth, and in every single moment they will send great thanks up to their Creator, Who will do all this for the small number of the inwardly pure

Childlike pure joy will reign upon Earth and will be with men the foundation for a new recognising of all gifts, that these may be rightly received and administered, and thus be permitted to remain for ever in harmony with the Will of God
