Like an inwardly working power, he is to ripen who professes himself to the Circles of the Peaceful and who also longs in the coming time to help visibly in the great service to the Light

In his place he is to grow strong and to ripen, as when deep in the earth, under the pressure of the outward forces, the crystal of the diamond forms itself and grows

Firmness and certainty in the conviction of the victory of the Light upon this Earth is to be the power which gradually attunes all his abilities, so that at the right moment these may break forth into the visible, like the grown, mighty trunk of a sturdy, spreading tree

Precisely the inward power in him needs now to gain that unbreakable might with which, through the thoughts of the Circles of the Peaceful, the threads of strengthening may come to all who seek upon the Earth a yet purer and more just life

It is the forming of the firm rope raising itself upwards to the Light, at which all seekers are now to take hold

And for this forming of the luminous rope of rescue there must first, like the leaven in the dough, inwardly ripen a simple and strong ordering of thoughts in all the servants of the Light

Everything unseemly, everything that disturbs, like lumber and ballast, is now to be crowded far away from the centre which, like a radiant pillar, points clearly and sharply upwards to the Light

Laid aside therefore is to be the hitherto customary manner of distractedness and of disorder in the thoughts with all those who long to serve the Light

For in the course of a single day thousands of thoughts manage to grow up in the stream of the volition of earthly man, which are like tenacious weeds

Thousands of null trivialities, like ballast, parasitise upon the power of the spirit, in order to draw off from it the concentration which is to belong solely to the great service to the Light

If man really held in his attunement only those thoughts which belong purely to the need of his livelihood and to the providing of all the important things of earthly life, and everything else were devoted by him only to the service to the Light, then it could be said that more than ten hours of the day consciousness can and shall belong to this, that through the thought instrument of the brain there flow only pure and clear thoughts which in their vibration are bound up with the great harmony of the whole glorious work of Creation

Only that could be compared with that assiduous activity with which the leaven works in the dough, in order to make the dough ready for the reception of the intensifying energy which makes of it the bread blessed by God

Unlike man, the leaven in the dough works in the animistic species of activity, and therefore it pursues, like everything animistic, one thing only – fulfilment

Yet often only in the outward vibrations of the highest rapture out of everyday life does man perceive his longing to fulfil for the Light and for Creation

At the moment when he returns back out of these vibrations and thinks again that in everyday life he must care for himself and for those near to him, that he needs to divert himself and to rest, then, although he does not admit it to himself, he at once attunes himself also to the ballast which is bound up with the greater part of commonplace affairs

It is a ballast which for a mature spirit irradiated by the Light is unworthy and which degrades him in his attunement of high service

In diversion and in lack of concentration his thoughts then scatter to the sides, like a flock of disobedient, strayed sparrows which have pecked up the poisoned grain that is repeatedly strewn by the darkness

Now they settle here, now elsewhere, here they need this or that, there something of this kind is interesting and straightway again something else

The thoughts flown apart to the sides taste of the many skilfully proffered seeds of intellectual mistrust circling in abundance around earthly mankind, which gradually corrodes the conviction about the effects of the Laws of God here upon the Earth

Long, seed by seed, the darkness files away at the mistrust in the thought attunement of him who longs to serve the Light, until it leads him away from the original direct thoughts connecting him with the Light

In the end it goes so far that the conviction about the working of these Laws fades away and man, who otherwise professes himself to the knowledge of the Holy Word, becomes exactly the same machine-part of earthly society as is the case with all the other men who, however, have no knowledge and who therefore deal with the material world in their utmost conviction as with the only place of the existence of life

Where is the conviction of those who are to grow with every day into an ever stronger and more certain leaven, which is to work as an inspiring magnet upon other men

This leaven is to be independent in its thinking of the rest of human society and is to attract with its thoughts the unshakable knowledge about the effects of the Laws of God also here, in this gross materiality

This magnetism begins precisely upon the plane of clear thoughts, where the thoughts, like canals dug through and constantly maintained, are to bring to this Earth the forces of the helpers of the Light, so that all men who seek something higher in their life may take hold of their exceedingly important helping guidance

And many men seek, and a still greater number will only yet begin to seek

Those who are the knowing ones are at that time to have made ready all the strong thoughts of the conviction about God and His helping ways, so that the seekers may take hold of them and may not become again the straying ones who have lost the way to the Light after they had already glimpsed it and longed for it

Now the leaven in the dough is to be almost already ripened and ready for the further progress forward

All the texts which come to the hands of the readers of the Way of the Grail have led and lead to an ever stronger connection with the whole of the work of Creation

The knowledge about the exalted animistic servants, the knowledge about the spiritual home, and above all the knowledge about the Grail and the Holy God, all this is given for the work of the spirit, for the mighty leaven of thoughts, out of which there is to be born a strong magnetism of the conviction about the great being of the human spirit in the work of Creation

The leaven in the dough is again and again watered out of the living spring with new spiritual power, with which it is possible with every day to grow stronger and stronger in knowledge and in conviction

Just as the leaven is exposed to the right conditions for ripening, exactly so is the spiritual flame in man tended through the texts of the Way of the Grail, so that it may no longer return back into the former attunement of unworthy thought ballast

So much is given that the human spirit could never exhaust it here upon the Earth, if he truly wished to occupy himself with it again and again for the maintaining of his mobility and of a certain radiance, in which everything can first begin rightly to serve the Light

Those who have already experienced it and ever anew experience it know what is meant by these words

It is the state of spiritual awakening in which the reader is suddenly connected with everything in pictures, and the whole space around him is translucently clear, giving great and simple answers to all questions

This state is to be quickened again and again, it is to be maintained in a certain degree of liveliness, so that beneath this attunement of the glowing of the spirit there may take place the sacred process of the inward strengthening towards the highest degree of the conviction about God and His Laws, which work through everything around us and lead everything to the complete submission to this will, for it contains within itself Life and the Issue for everything that dwells in the work of Creation

In this Will there is therefore also the key to the liberation and to the ascent of everything that now gropes and strays upon the Earth in ignorance of the way

And precisely the leaven of the Circles of the Peaceful is to bear this within itself as something which is already firmly settled in the inner being, whence it radiates with its power far into the distances of the thought worlds here

It is not meant so that man should constantly think in the intellect upon concrete single pictures and upon the things pertaining to them, but it is a question of the inward attunement of the spirit, which is to bear within itself an all-carrying enthusiasm and conviction about the existence of the working Laws, into which he trustingly lays himself with the certainty that they will safely lead him through everything and through the events which are yet to draw near to him

This enthusiasm is to overflow through the soul of man, it is to well up as a self-evident attunement into all thoughts as their foundation, and above all it is to ascend to the degree of that jubilant enthusiasm in which alone all the miracles can take place which the harmony of the human spirit with the Will of the Holy God automatically brings with it

The pure attunement of a childlike simple jubilant enthusiasm is to be the accompanying sign of the ripeness of the leaven in the dough

That is the resultant, that ripeness of the spirit in the body upon the Earth, in which he, in trust in the Laws of God, forms also for other men a support in this new kind of trust in God

He need not convince them with words, he need not unconditionally be the one who speaks aloud about these Laws like a preacher, but he is to be the one who always acts according to them in trust in their effect

In reality this is much easier than it seems

It is, however, easy only for him who has ripened into this trust and who lives in it permanently attuned like a musical instrument which has the harmony of resonance with the whole of the work of Creation

He who has ripened to this degree is ready for the service, for his inner being and his thoughts shine clearly like a helping rope of rescue for all seekers

His conviction can no longer be shaken by anything, and he also does not squander his forces upon occupying himself with the ballast of the thought-noise which is then far beneath him, just as the murmur and the din of the valley flow distantly for him who has climbed sufficiently high into the mountains and stands above this valley

The leaven is to be ripened, for the time is coming for it in its ripeness to be carried over into the whole society of men who are ready to receive it

There approaches the great time of the helping working, which stands and falls with the inward conviction of those who are the knowing ones

Now there will come the tests of pressure, as to how everything is turned to account and attuned in every single man who professes himself to the Circles of the Peaceful

Blessing will flow to those who are ready and who already weave, through their pure attunement, the helping canals of thoughts from the spiritual leaders and helpers towards all who seek purely upon the Earth

The time of the ripened leaven of the spirit in the dough of earthly mankind is here
