The Circles of the Peaceful – the Collapse of the Tower of Babel

“ …and when they were laying upon the summit the last pieces of the ashlars for the completion of the work of magnificence, then far below at the very foot of the proud tower there appeared cracks bearing witness to the unsoundness and the ponderousness of the work, which thereupon began to crumble and at last dragged down with it all who had taken part in the building. All this came about because that edifice, extolled by the multitudes, wished to make itself equal with the heavens, but by its builders it had been founded upon a bad foundation …”

Through the Laws of Creation there now flows to all things the multiplying radiance of the Ray of Parzival, which is the bearer of great changes in the whole of this universe

The radiant power of the Light brings the multiplying effect also into all the working of men

Today we can observe ever more distinctly the development of the events, which of necessity moves along the iron tracks of its fulfilment towards the point where it will have to bring forth all the fruit of human striving under the pressure of the great Laws of Creation

This development in the events is so very manifest that only men who are truly deaf and blind within can still maintain that nothing is happening

Driven by the pressure from the Light, the just Law of Reciprocal Action will manifest itself with an unsuspectedly powerful effect precisely at that place which for a long time men held to be inviolably sacred and to which they fled as to their refuge, for in their persistent striving it had been formed into a revered foundation stone by which they measured all life here on Earth

This refuge and foundation stone is the narrowly intellectual view of life, in which matter is the only acknowledged magnitude worthy of their attention and respect

A view which by its expansiveness drove out of the human world all reverence before the higher Laws of Creation and created the conviction that the centre of all things is earthman with his intellectual knowledge

With a heavy bar the intellect closed off the outlook of the spirit in man upon anything higher than the existence of matter

Now the time is here for it to be shown how bad are the foundations of this view of life and how greatly men have erred therein

Stricken now is the world of the intellect, which for a long time strove ever more strongly and more ruthlessly to set up its own rules in the course of life upon this Earth

Now it seems that, spread over the whole earthly world, it has reached the summit of its goal, but at the same time there come unexpectedly the first serious upheavals

The world of thought, filled with self-centred reflections upon the great findings of the intellect, is now shaken in its foundations, and there is the threat that with every further day its boundaries will be broken through entirely and there will be revealed outwardly that hollowness and emptiness which is the true filling of the barren edifice of the present material ordering of the world

This fulfilment now draws near, and the manifestness of the feeble and ill-considered deeds of those who stand in the front line of the material intellectual striving bears witness to chaos and helplessness

At the same time it shows itself how far in reality true wisdom and deliberation are from those who have fully surrendered themselves to the influence of material intellectuality, and how in fact they must ever more often admit that they know nothing essential for the clarifying of the meaning of man's existence on Earth

In that they know nothing of precisely this most important thing, which has the highest value in human life, the intellect and the men who make use of it heap up in their actions one blunder upon another

It is so and it must be so, for the development in the coming events will show in the end all decisions issuing from the intellectual approach to life as an empty, lifeless barrenness, which until now only stifled and fettered everything truly living in man that was connected with healthy intuitive perceiving and with the healthy longing for the pure and free soaring of the spirit

The healthy receptivity in men cries out in despair when it hears, or sees, whither the doings of those men are tending who maintain that they “know” and who in reality have never recognised even a particle of the meaning of their own existence on Earth

Nevertheless, and also for that very reason, such men who know nothing must now show themselves, so that mankind as a whole may at last, once and for all, be healed of the false conception of a possible fulfilment of the perfection of life upon the foundation of a thinking which is born in limited material intellectuality

Thus the proud tower of the human building of a society founded upon narrowly limited material thinking, which seemed to be already almost completed, is cracking and brings ever greater astonishment at the senselessness of all that was in reality contained within it

Incapacity for true life, that is the result which must pursue all who still believe, even if only in part, that mankind can govern itself solely through the knowledge of the nearest matter by the limited intellect, without the participation of spiritual enlightenment, without the understanding of Laws higher than those set up by it

Far removed from all that is healthy and natural, thus shows itself every decision of those men who let themselves be drawn into the snares of the Luciferian principle and let it be whispered to them that human laws and human ordinances on Earth may count for more than the Primordially Eternal Laws of the Loving, Wise God, which form Life in the great Work of Creation from its very beginning

This whispered conception led human thinking gradually also to calculation and to cunning, which needed only to know how always rightly to clothe itself in the garb of earthly rules and laws, in order to appear as a priestess of wisdom seated upon the throne of the highest admiration

That it is a throne of cunning, held upon its summit by the strength of the beast – the intellectual manner of reasoning, supported by the henchmen of Lucifer, men frivolously overlooked for thousands of years

They let the direction be shown to them by this cunning, which they accepted as their own as a glorified way through life

Now it will be shown that this fashioned way leads only into a blind end and has no further continuation

This because that way is limited solely to all that is earthly material, lacking any higher view and at the same time denying every receptivity for all that is higher, which of necessity enters from time to time into the life of every man, for men are of spiritual origin through their spiritual spark

It will come in a hard awakening, for exceedingly many men have joined themselves too closely with a manner of life built upon an overwrought cunning, which gradually slipped also into the garb of erudition and learned seriousness, in which it works falsely and dimly, creating the impression that erudition is at the same time also wisdom

Thus there is ever more tension, there is discord, strife and adversity, when in the life of men there works an excessive intellectuality which brings cunning and calculation ruling precisely over wisdom and over the conscience of the spiritual inner being

Under the pressure of the Ray of Parzival all this shows itself ever more strongly, whether it be a matter of diplomatic calculation between states, of calculation in trade, of cunning in the community of men, or whether it be a matter of craftiness in the relations between men, in their narrow circle of personal life

Everywhere where cunning and calculation dwell, which until quite recently celebrated the highest success among men, these are now unmasked by themselves and lose more and more of their gloss and their glitter

Pride and haughtiness in the art of cunning becomes with every day a more visible hypocrisy, and in the end it will become a curse for all those who submitted themselves to it and drew it into their life as a welcome and glorified companion upon their earthly way

Those who fashioned a throne for this companion and exalted her to be the queen in their life will in the near future experience the fall of the queen and of her throne also, for the power of the beast is broken

It will also be in the end powerlessness and despair which will show themselves as the consequence of all the ways in which earthly cunning and self-seeking calculation had a share in the course taken by men

Under the pressure of the Light this endeavour after craftiness and after the duping of others must now show itself as the greatest harmfulness, although in the beginning it could often outwardly bear the appearance of a skilfully painted, seemingly sincere endeavour to help others

It will collapse and will bring for a great part of mankind only the bitter experiencing of a startling awakening as to where everywhere this human falsity in craftiness is to be found, where it works, and where everywhere men accepted it as a welcome ally, in order with its help to bridge the great rifts in the building of modern human society, which almost from the foundation stands in all things in opposition to the Wise Laws of Creation

It will be in the end only a wrathful powerlessness which, in the endeavour to disentangle itself from the snares of the reciprocal effects of the Laws of Creation, will bring it about that the baseness of the intentions of cunning, in its volition to escape its own unmasking, will at last through the agency of many men drag that glittering edifice entirely down into dust and ruins

Completed is the time in which, before this collapse, there burgeoned into its greatest fruits that loud self-assurance and also a certain contemptuousness of those who learned to work with calculation and to use it for their own purposes against others who were more childlike in their trust

Now the turning point is here, and it will go only ever more swiftly down into ruins, where the companion will be dismay and confusion in the unfulfilled expectation that the intellect will this time also, as always hitherto, somehow deal with the situation that has arisen

The endeavour after cunning and calculation will in the end slip in its own striving and will show itself made visible in the irradiation by the Light

There will remain preserved only that which in the Laws of Creation proves itself as pure striving, issuing from the genuine inner volition of men

Only there, where the true guide to the helping of others is the heart, the spirit of man, only there will the help of the Light be able to be found, under the condition of the observance of a pure and healthy fulfilment of humanly spiritual humility and of mutual help

Mutual reverence and self-abasement will be the foundation for the seeking of a new course, in which it will be given to but a few to find help and strengthening from the Light through the strengthening from the High animistic and spiritual helpers

Only there, where there is born in man a genuine pure endeavour to seek ways of honourable, reverent dealing towards others, only there will the streaming of protection and of help from the Light be able to come

All else will be tossed about in uncertainty and inner division, which have their root in the insufficient striving of man in the seeking of the meaning of human existence here on Earth

Under the pressure of the Light it now seethes and is shaken, though as yet only in the depth of the threads which will soon emerge among men everywhere where distorted orderings work that are not in harmony with the Laws of Creation

And the peculiarity of all this will be that from a certain degree onwards these wrong orderings will begin to deny and to devour one another, they will collide with one another and will bring only ever greater unintelligibility and confusion

In the end the said tower of intellectual pride will be torn down by mankind itself, and there will remain of it only dust with the wormwood taste of great shame and guilt

Everywhere where human doing is still today at variance with the effects of the Laws of Creation, which contain within themselves the Will of God, everywhere there it will come to upheaval and weakening, to mistrust and hopelessness

In contradiction the intellect will go against itself, and cunning men, like irritated animals, will bark at equally cunning men who will seek to enforce the exact opposite of their conceptions

Aside from this tumult there shall then stand, in the peaceful attunement of their inner being, those who long to belong to the Circles of the Peaceful

In the coming time they shall be, in their peacefulness and confidence, little islands of certainty and of hope for all who will be shaken by the collapse of the rules of an overgrown intellectual materialism

In a bright and joyful walking through life they shall be ready to offer a helping hand to all who awaken in the unstillable calling of their inner being amid the experiencing of what will yet come to pass among men on Earth, bringing ever greater contradiction into healthy perceiving through intuition

When that proud tower of the rankness of the intellect collapses, the Circles of the Peaceful shall bring peace and healing into the storm-tossed minds of men

This requires a certain preparation in the inner being and in the thoughts

Whoever takes this trouble beforehand will thereafter come to know the blessing of that deep inner peace which will come to him at the right time from the Light, when he will need it most
