The Circle of Knights Above the Luminous Gardens of the Ethereal Realm

Close beneath the Paradise of all blessed human spirits there vibrates a blazing circle of knightly virtues

It is formed of ardent thoughts of faithful service to God, and by its living vibration it is shaped into a building of its own, in which there dwell and work those who bend down to the materialities from the heights of Montsalvat and from still other, higher planes of Primordial Creation

It was the purest volition of the luminous knights dwelling in spiritual Creation that raised upon pure ground the building which blazes above the materialities in its greatness and its strength

Like a beacon it shines in the gleam of God's blessing with its golden hue, which is mirrored back from this building into the far reaches of the worlds of the work of Subsequent Creation

It is formed of high ramparts and mighty towers, which for the newly arrived are lost high up in white mists shone through by the eternal Light

The building also forms in part a connecting bridge, giving entry to some of the servants of the Most High who come from above to the materialities with a definite mission

This is because in the hall of its highest temple there is one of the gates giving entry further into the spiritual worlds

Human spirits who have completed their development may pass through this gate, furnished with a curtain and a golden shining grille, upward into the spiritual home

If a given human spirit is drawn to this place by his manly, knightly disposition, and if at the same time he is already rounded in his ripe wisdom, then that gate standing there opens for him and he may enter the blessed gardens in eternity

The far-spreading castle, built above mountain ranges of a rugged animistic kind, gleams in the purest intercessory streams of all the knights from the spiritual spheres of Creation

There is mirrored in it, as in the reflection of a water's surface, the purest protecting, helping and positively working volition of the Light, which in the heights is itself formed life

Thus this Castle of the Guard, which is the work of all the most mature human spiritual knighthood, appears in its volition and its mission as a drawbridge forming the connection between the work of Primordial Creation and the annexe of Creation, the so-called Subsequent section of Creation, which is formed by the animistic weaving out of Valhalla and bears the familiar shape of the most varied degrees of material spheres

The Castle of the Guard has stood here since the time when the first spiritual sparks awoke to consciousness in the ethereal gardens

It was formed to become a protection for all luminous and pure striving of the human spirits who find themselves in the materialities

The circle radiates protection and also support to all that is weaker, into all parts of Subsequent Creation, which it thereby upholds and strengthens towards development, together with all the creatures that find themselves within it

Thus from these places there always descended to the Earth as well that radiation which awakens in manly striving what is called true knightly conduct

At least so it was for a long time in the earlier ages of a spiritually more open mankind

This castle has already been written of more than once here on the Way of the Grail

Inwardly open people beheld its outer gate, and in its strength and severity it was for them an image of the highest Castle of the Grail, which stands at a still unimaginable height at the summit of the work of Creation

And such an image it is indeed, for it is built of the purest kind of knighthood

By the kind of its radiation the Castle of the Guard bore within itself, for these inwardly open, seeing poets of the knightly epics, an irresistible call which was and always will be powerfully attracting for all pure perceiving of human spirits, for in it too there takes place, as in all the other significant intermediate stages of the work of Creation, that exalted moment of the influx of the Power of God for all who dwell there

“Behold, the power from the Grail streams through Creation!”

This mighty call accompanied each time the highest happening, when in the most richly adorned of the halls of this castle of the guard the sacred vessel appointed for that very purpose was filled with the newly inflowing power from the heights

Here too there appeared at that time to all present the image of the white Dove, which is God's confirmation of the endurance of the sacred covenant of Life between the Creator – the Holy God and his work of Creation

And those who on Earth, in inwardly opening themselves to the Words of the Son of God, Jesus, about his Father, who is the one God for all Life in Creation, carried themselves by their inner illumination beyond the reach of the developing human spirits, which formerly extended to the ramparts of Valhalla, were thus permitted all at once to behold still more, which of necessity strengthened the spiritual inner being within them

They were irresistibly drawn upward, for the stream of the luminous power had touched their spiritual inner being and by its nearness left them no rest for anything other than to set out, over all obstacles, upon the virtuous path of perfect knighthood, or of the tenderness of the womanly kind of lily-like purity

As by the breath of a new influx of Light, so high and exalted and yet near in its spiritual kind, an ever greater number of human souls was drawn to these places

Thereby there necessarily came a higher maturity in the more conscious intimation of all that seemed so familiar, like the sound of songs and melodies out of the bliss of Paradise

The finer and womanly souls were drawn into the heights of the ethereal gardens, which in their translucence offered those who came there so much refreshing and strengthening that it was as if this were already the antechamber of the spiritual Paradise itself

A joyful breathing out is granted to every soul which through its purity was permitted to climb up to here, to the places of the sacred preparations that precede entry into the spiritual home

In floods of blossoms and of woodlands stretching into the distance, which are laden with flowers the whole time and at the same time bear the most succulent fruit that can spring forth in the planes of the work of Subsequent Creation, these blessed souls absorbed with their inner being the joy and happiness spreading out everywhere, these souls who were permitted to ripen here for the time of their entry into the spiritual home

Like garlands shining in bright colours, streams of souls raised themselves hither from the individual parts of the world

In part also from Ephesus, whence this stream was strengthened precisely through the self-sacrifice of the Son of God, Jesus, who descended in the Ray of the Love of God into the darkness-encircled materiality of the earthly life of the Earth, in order to bring the shining Word of Truth to erring mankind

But then this stream grew weaker and weaker, until, like beads set far apart upon a thread, the arrival of pure and riper souls almost came to a halt

The necessary circulation of life was brought to a standstill, and there was a threat of the complete falling away of all the connecting and helping threads reaching down from above

The knowledge of this place too, although it was precisely this that should have been unfolded and strengthened in human hearts on Earth through further open seers, began to close itself again, and the awareness of these places, so important for human souls, was in danger of being lost entirely

There remained only a dim intimation of the luminous castle, of the exalted knights working within it, and also of the ideal, glorious, tenderly womanly souls working in the ethereal gardens surrounded by blossoms

Although a few threads remain, it is for the thoughts of people today something that sounds only very faintly

Even with the best striving this legendary picture appears so distant that it is almost lost

For only a few there has remained a dim intimation alone, in whose glimmer this radiant Camelot vibrates, as the castle described in the ancient legends was called

It is all too distant and also too glorious for the reasoning of people today for them to be able to receive it simply and without doubt into their inner being by way of the present manner of thought, which for most is set narrowly and is thereby limiting for everything exalted that can and shall uplift man in his outlook upward towards the Light

Although in the course of history several tidings of this place have already reached the Earth from inwardly open people, it is all still too dimly wrapped in mist, and yet at the same time also in a flood of Light which works as a protection against everything impure

Thus the following pictures, describing a part of the happenings in this castle, are intended rather for a future time of a more open human perceiving of all that must remain above the purely earthly plane of life here on Earth

Only those who open themselves to it can always take something more from it for themselves and thereby draw inwardly closer to places which after the laying aside of the earthly body are also attainable for them, for by their homogeneity they lie in the work of Creation nearest to this work of Subsequent Creation

The condition for reaching these places is an inner, pure volition to serve the Light, freed from all religious conceptions and from narrowed suppositions about God and his work of Creation

Freely and with inner joy the path leading upward to the Light is to be received and experienced by the spirit

The path which leads here becomes with every step ever more like a true fairy-tale quality of being

The partial pictures given by the souls dwelling here and joyfully awakened are only a fragment of all that is reality for the living inhabitants of these places, a reality which in every one of its moments extols the Creator who let all this come into being

Only in the simple and pure experiencing of what belongs to human spiritual intuitive perceiving may the human spirit then, still in a soul garment become luminous, draw near to these far-spreading places of most glorious luminous buildings and unending gardens of creative happiness, in order here, in the jubilant radiance of his inner being, to complete his path to the spiritual home

Only then will the beauty of greatness and exaltedness which vibrates lastingly through these places surround him

It will surround and permeate him as if for a moment he were permitted full participation in all the uplifting life which streams unceasingly through the golden walls there that form the Castle of the Guard

And as was said, all that is finer and more womanly may likewise unite and merge with the tender glory of those places, which flows above all the gardens that count as the ground of the first becoming conscious of spiritual sparks wrapped in the very finest animistic coverings

For every inner disposition the space there holds places for the experiencing of an exalted conscious existence which in its maturity is already close to the real awakening in the spiritual home, in Paradise

Thus in the present age it is granted to only a few to rise with their inner being up to these places, which by their beauty and their Light-shone poignancy must bring every spiritual inner being into the highest experience of an exalted becoming aware of itself

This is something that today on this Earth may be called an unattainable state of awareness

It is so because in the awareness of people today there is lacking precisely that important degree of inner exaltedness, and thereby of spiritually ardent connectedness with the rest of the whole of the work of Creation

Thereby people cut themselves off from every uplifting and also needfully refreshing connection with the work of Creation in its all-embracing streaming of Life

They remain standing aside and, instead of an enthusiastic assent to life, for the most part merely eke out an existence, however much they try to call it, for others, a path of life which they would not exchange for anything

If they were permitted for but a moment to be in accord with the greatness and the genuineness that lie in the life pulsing at the very summit of the ethereal gardens, then they would not hesitate for an instant and would give everything to be allowed to complete their ripening in the work of Subsequent Creation in these places permeated with the exalted fulfilling of the virtues

Freed from all direct suffering, yet with the inner being wide open to compassion, whole multitudes of human souls could here in these places press on to the crowning of their path through the materialities, so that their final laying aside of the last, lightest animistic coverings would be for them a joyful distinction and a victory in their existence

The path to this is now opened by the fact that the Ray of Parzival, bearing the form of the indescribably glorious features of a king, has ridden into this castle with his knights on the way into the depths of the materialities at the time of the fulfilment of the Holy Judgment

His entry became the occasion for the wide opening of the gate, which until then had opened only for a short while in the time following the highest Festivals of the Grail

And the multitudes of the blessed from all parts of the world, upon recognising their King, were permitted, in inwardly jubilant extolling of this King and of His Father, God and the Creator, to complete their path of development and to pass through the gate in the Castle of the Guard

Just as it was also at the other gates, which according to spiritual kind are to be found in several places where luminous paths are appointed for this

The circle of knights became luminous as new power poured into it with the coming of the King of Creation

And also when Parzival returned to this castle after the ending of his path in an earthly body, a festive song resounded through all the halls in welcome of the King back in the luminous castle

Here too the voice of God shook all the walls, when lightning shot through the clear sky and there rang out as an echo the thunderous “It is finished!”

The Holy Judgment in the spiritual realm was closed, and in that moment riders set out from the castle to bear tidings to all the weavers of the threads of human destinies that everything was now to be led to a swift conclusion in the materialities as well

As the vanguard of their King the riders rode, to prepare everywhere the ground for the coming of the Ray of Parzival to the fulfilment of God's promise that: “He will come in the clouds to reveal the Will of his Father”

The fulfilment lies in the fulfilling of the Laws of Creation, in which the Justice of God vibrates in union with the infinite Love of God

In this there lies for the human race on Earth the present fulfilling of all the Holy happening, which stretches out over all the wishes of men

Insignificant is the volition of the human spirit if it does not vibrate in its purity and trusting guilelessness in accord with the Will of God

And the knights who are those sent-out riders on horseback bring strengthening to everything which, through the fulfilling of a virtuous life, strives to swing itself higher to the places where peace breathes, bearing within itself the promise of a Paradise not far off

At the same time everything base and vainly self-exalting in men is struck by the blows of the shining weapons of the spiritual riders and thereby marked out for the subsequent settlement at the hands of the animistic Alphar

In mighty resounding the circle of knights in the Castle of the Guard now vibrates with joyful work

In everything, even in the smallest, there blazes the joyful knowledge of the great liberation in the depths of the materialities, where the darkness shrinks together like a drying skin that has already lost its strength

This skin may take up into itself only what is bound with it in homogeneity

That too will shrivel with the ugly mantle of the skin, and thereafter it will be cast down by the hands of the servants of Hareiars into the melting fire and the crushing millwheels, which break up all forms again into the primal particles of the smallest spiritual fragments

And beneath that skin there will then appear new ground, which like a field lit by the spring sun will quiver in virginal readiness for a new life that will descend from above and at the same time, from the hands of the animistic servants, will spring up out of the inner depths of materialities which already seemed almost lifeless

Thus one prospect of a picture after another descends as an exalted message for all who now find themselves in the grip of gross materiality and in their wavering are losing faith and hope

Precisely in the greatest whirl of confusion and despair of all inwardly more receptive people on Earth there will come strengthening and rescue, woven from the living streams of the protecting circle of knights

On the way it will merge with the host of the animistic circle of Valhalla, so that in the end all that is to be fulfilled may be fulfilled

In the human inner being, therefore, there is to be prepared a ground which rests in the fullness of peace and in a renewed faith in the Will of God, which forever remains at work, bound with the whole work of Creation through countless servants of a spiritual and of an animistic kind

God has whole hosts of servants who work lastingly and faithfully for the fulfilment of His Holy Will

In the manifold weaving of all the threads, and also in the severance of earthly people's receptivity for everything higher and more translucent, the hardest has now come about, for many a one is surrounded by distrust through the vibrations of the intellect

Everything that comes to him in these present times seems only to shake more and more his already weakened trust in helps of a higher kind

Yet in spite of this all that was ever here remains in force, for nothing in it has changed, and not so much as a comma in the Word of Truth stands now against the promises, but on the contrary confirms them and with every day brings them further into visibility

The Judgment moves forward in circles, and the small human volition is compelled to bow before the greatness of God, which advances victoriously, borne onward by the approaching Ray of Parzival towards this part of the worlds

There is no confusion in it

It is only the human intellect and a ponderous earthbound quality in perceiving that bewilder people, so that they lose themselves in everything which is otherwise easily knowable to the rest of spiritual and animistic life and is therefore received with the highest joy

And yet it is nothing other than a returning to the state before that wilful severance of human volition on Earth from all the higher planes, to which belong the Castle of the Guard with its circle of knights and all the gardens of tender joy and of the purity of womanhood above the denser ethereal planes, now that in this age the knowledge of all this graciously descends to the Earth

People should be more watchful towards this, receptive to the finer vibrations contained in it, and should already by the very nature of their capacity for intuitive perception give it their inner attention

Had they never abandoned the fulfilling of the virtues that lie deep within every germ of a spiritual kind, had they strengthened these virtues and unfolded them, then they would of necessity be lifted lastingly and without interruption by their receptivity high above all that is materially dense

And precisely from the heights of the places described there would come to them, in the most natural degree of comprehension, all the pictorial explanations of what takes place around them in the ethereal and animistic coverings of their spirit

They would stand here on Earth as knowing ones, and thus to a certain extent acquainted with the happenings which now fulfil themselves each day more and more strongly

But because they are no longer able to do this, they wander and grope in all that takes place around them in the finer world, and their intellect, as a consequence of Lucifer's baleful working, whispers to them, by distorting the facts, only further and further proofs for distrust in anything clearer, in that simpler happening which opens itself to man whenever, in ardent pure volition, he tears himself out of material thinking upward to the spiritual heights

Groping and wandering permeate this space of the earthly world

In the end this leads to inner laceration and despair, which further brings about only discontent and wrath, whereupon all impulses towards an inner fullness of peace must then dissolve entirely and be lost

Yet precisely now the fullness of peace is of the highest importance for the spirit, for through it alone can there be woven for every human being a helping radiation which would lead him through the coming happenings exactly as the spirit needs, so that he may at last rise, freed and purified, upward to the spiritual home

Why then do people not see it, when it stands directly before them and calls to them to seize it with all their strength and never at any price to let it out of their hands again

So many helps are here now on this Earth, yet for the greatest part of mankind they are invisible, and thus hard to recognise, and therefore they cannot bring to people in their doubts the efficacy which they bear within themselves

The work of Creation is a great consonance of harmony bearing within itself a strengthening lightness and a fairy-tale beauty

That the earthly world sees nothing of it, or is able to perceive only its outermost spurs, which are lost in confusion, surely does not mean that the great work of Creation does not lastingly contain within itself all that has been described above

It is here and there, it surrounds man and calls to him with a quiet voice to look about him and at last to begin perceiving rightly all that draws near to him in the help and strengthening offered

At last the world of men should cease moving in all this like the proverbial bull in a china shop

Then there will swiftly arise in him, together with a purified receptivity, an understanding for much that he has hitherto only condemned and covered with his distrust, although the reason for such conduct lay in himself alone

Then there will suddenly appear before him all the paths which were always here, to lead him out of chaos and confusion and to show him the right direction upward to the ideal of humanity, for the sake of which he is on this very Earth

He will become truly receptive and sensitive for all that is of higher worth and more virtuous, which will in the end bear him automatically upward to the places of joy and of the true greatness of being

Together with this a wonder will also come to pass for him, in that this knowing fullness of peace will remain in him and will walk with him through every moment here on Earth

This will bring the true knowledge of the Light and of God, who is here through his servants ever near to all life

Blessed are the people who attain this

They will become torches of the Light and of the living knowledge of the Truth for many other people on this Earth in this present upheaval-filled age of great changes
