The Building Substance From Which Matter Arose

There are only a small number of people in the world for whom life here in the earthly world of matter is a reason for deeper reflection

With the majority, alas, it is not so

The greatest part of mankind lives on through inertia, in the way they were taught in childhood and adolescence by their parents, educators or friends, who through education and habits of life initiated them into views which these in turn had previously taken over from their own parents and teachers

These adopted views then become a rigidly immobile scheme of thinking

Whole multitudes are so imprisoned in this scheme that they no longer give any thought to such a thing as the voice of the spirit-spark, which now and then quietly encourages them to continue further in independent recognition, and thereby to free themselves and enter upon the full path of their development

In the supreme naturalness of its effects, the Law of Movement urges towards further recognition

It urges everyone without distinction

For the human spirit the Law of Movement is the same as a lawful pressure towards its own development

Every human being should develop throughout the whole time of his life on Earth

But this does not happen

Not even all the joys and hardships suffice to make people reflect on where they came from, what the meaning of their existence is, and where they will one day go again when they leave this part of the gross material universe

The majority do not occupy themselves with anything of the kind, because they fear that long chain of questions which would immediately present itself if only once they seriously admitted that there is something more than the present material life

But it is also strange that although many proudly consider themselves materially minded in their views, they nevertheless know almost nothing about the material universe itself and about matter as such

They do not know how the universe came into being, nor all that it contains in its invisible layers

Neither do they know how life arose in the worlds of matter, whence the consciousness of the creatures came, and finally they do not even know what the further development of all that now exists here will be, nor what the end of the matter of the universe will be when one day it comes

They think it is a task for scientists, and that they themselves therefore need not concern themselves with it

And yet if only once they grasped for themselves even the smallest part of all the connections, it would at once bring them the discovery of their own abilities, which they could use for the betterment of their own lives and the lives of their neighbours

They could know far more about the universe and about life than is known today

We may therefore say that the obstacle to the betterment of life does not lie in people lacking the abilities and skills for it within themselves, but that it is indolence which for thousands of years has kept them at the same level of comprehension of the world, even though mankind now perhaps controls a tiny part of matter through technology, to which it has worked its way through its discoveries of the last few centuries

Although people have the opportunity to occupy themselves with the questions about themselves and about the matter in which they must live their present life, no step forward takes place in them

What was instilled into them in childhood they as a rule keep unchanged within themselves until their earthly death

No change, no development comes about in the case of most people even in whole decades of their earthly life

In their comprehension of things they always remain the same

In this it can be seen that the greatest obstacle to ascent is inner immobility

And strangely enough, this immobility also holds true where the investigation of gross matter as such is concerned

People do not reflect, nor do they examine with healthy intuition even those things which are in close proximity all around them

It seems that they are completely indifferent to everything lying even a small step outside the frame of the most ordinary interests and cares which today fill the daily hours of the majority

In these interests thousands of earthly hours, days, months, and in sum even whole years are lost

Years which in reality are immeasurably precious, for they contain within them the strength and the best abilities for changing one's own life and the life of the whole of society

Had these abilities been rightly used, everything here on Earth could already be completely different, for through many people who today sleep inwardly, many inspirations and inventions could have come which are lacking here, and thus the Earth is denied relief from everything base that stifles and deadens through the way the world of industry and commerce is set up today

Yet some will maintain that they take an interest in the important matters of their lives, although at the same time their efforts bear all the marks of a merely inert repetition of cares of a small everyday kind

If real, serious interest were indeed present, then sooner or later their views on the nature of matter would be completely transformed, and finally also on the nature of the life pulsating within it

This would have to come about, for therein lies the omnipresent lawfulness of movement and development

Indeed, it would go so far that a really serious, unprejudiced interest of man in matter would necessarily lead him to the knowledge of the animistic activity, of the spiritual worlds, and of God

On this foundation of knowledge many views about the whole universe and all the life within it would then change

A true occupation with matter would lead man to a knowledge that would lift him higher and would ennoble his whole approach to life as a whole

Alas, this is not yet so today

There are only very few people today who can imagine that gross matter, as they know it through its density and heaviness, has its point of origin above this universe, that is, in places where different conditions apply to the substance of the Work of Creation there

And yet such a point of origin exists with lawful necessity, and through its vibration it provides the forces for the initial basic form of the properties, so that those particles of matter can arise which earthly science acknowledges as the first and smallest building blocks of everything

In order to understand the development of matter, man must lift himself upwards to the very part of the purely animistic species above the worlds of matter of the Subsequent Creation, that is, to the planes of the gardens of Asgard and of Valhalla itself

Here we find the animistic radiation which arose as a formed call out of the Light, which descended from the eternal Castle of the Grail through the first-created Mercury

Out of his will of devoted service a ray was formed which anchored a new supporting point towards the void, when O-dio-nar was born to his consciousness

From him everything unfolded further as a natural consequence of the working of the Light

The will of O-dio-nar in the animistic prepared the ground for the streaming of spiritual specks, or otherwise expressed, little particles, in which rests – though already greatly weakened, yet still enduring – a magnetically attracting and thereby at the same time creative power, in the reflection of the ancient sounding of God's Words “Let there be Light!”

And around these particles there wrapped itself the radiation streaming from the service of O-dio-nar, which at first was of purely animistic species

Out of this purely animistic species arose Valhalla, as a reflection of the prototype of higher regions in the Original Creation

Subsequently, a little further on, the landscapes and gardens of Asgard were formed

Simultaneously with the coming into being of these worlds there also arose servants, who received support towards their consciousness from the will of the first-created inhabitants of the Work of Creation

And in this great creating – inconceivably vast for human thinking, many-layered in a single moment – the way was already being prepared in advance for the forming of still denser planes in the Subsequent Creation

The particles mentioned, which may otherwise be described as shining seeds filled with great spiritual power, were enveloped by the will of O-dio-nar in fulfilment of the great commission to form worlds for the development of human spirit-sparks

There are thus two parts here – the core or seed, originating from unused spiritual currents bearing within them the will towards creativity, and the will of O-dio-nar, who in fulfilment of his mission impresses around these seeds the basis for the forming of shapes

Through the enveloping of the seeds by the will of the animistic a layer arose, whose enclosed power and all the properties resting in the envelope always made it possible to take from it and to create further

The condition for right understanding is a picture in which everything must be seen as radiation, not as a dense, material happening

The layer spoken of is a kind of radiation in which rests an immense creative power, waiting to be used for the forming of already fully evident shapes

This layer of an inexhaustible multitude of supra-material particles, perpetually circling within themselves, vibrating as a whole in their arising in perfect harmony of arrangement, accumulated in its advance in places beyond which there was only the void

At the moment determined by the Will of God, sphere after sphere began to form out of this layer, in which, together with the development of the basic forms, space and time appeared

Everything rushed, roared and seethed in the immense development of the worlds

The layer always provided sufficient building substance for all the planes, however these ranged themselves downwards one below the other, and in part also among one another, pressed to do so by their properties, that is, by the species of the newly arising radiation and vibration

From it, for all time, was drawn what served the building and forming of the ethereal and gross material worlds

The layer spoken of is the Aether

All the world parts in their vast extent were built up out of the basic substance of the Aether

The Aether is a substance in which there is perfect harmony possessing a geometric structure, of which mankind has known only a little since ancient times

In the arrangement of the Aether there rests a permanently ready source of the immense power of the spiritual particles, which precisely through their arrangement into a living structure can be used at any moment for the building of the new or the maintenance of the existing

This is constantly being fulfilled everywhere in the universe and in nature, which we can observe in its transformations

It may be called a perfectly artistic work of the animistic, which laid into the said structure its deep knowledge of the effects of the Laws of Creation, and thereby, in its species of activity, prepared a perfect substance usable for any building of worlds in the Subsequent Creation

Knowledge of the Aether is therefore naturally necessary for earthly human beings as well, if they wish to advance further in the recognition of the forces and their effects in the universe

And here it may once again be recalled how little anyone occupies himself with this

And yet the immense possibilities stored in the recognition of the Aether could not leave any truly living spirit at rest until at least the basic properties of the building substance had been discovered and understood, out of which this universe arose, as well as all the other world parts of the Subsequent Creation

By the fact that people are in a certain sense able to pass this by completely, and that it is no cause of movement for them, they testify that in the end the working of God in Creation does not interest them

For some people this might even be understandable, since the returning effects of their own threads of fate occupy them so much that they must expend all their strength to keep themselves alive

But at the same time there are many human souls here to whom, strikingly, everything needful has been given so that they have the strength and the room in their lives to occupy themselves with it

In their case we may therefore speak of lukewarmness of spirit or of indolence in thinking

Mankind could already be much further on today if this caused more people “restless sleep”, as the saying goes when something in a person's life is really important to him and he then occupies himself with it with all his strength

Now this is coming together with the spiritual enlightenment, which is already creating a subconscious pressure in many a person

We stand on the threshold of great knowledge

The Aether, with its properties and its possibilities for mankind on Earth, will become a newly discovered path of progress, of which until today the majority have not even dreamed

The Study of EFEMERIDIS is even now prepared for this, in co-operation with a part of the Circles of the Peacemakers, for whom it will be, as a species homogeneously attracting them, the fulfilment of their lives actively to bring new discoveries, and thereby to advance, in co-operation with the animistic servants, in the uncovering of prospects which today are still wrapped in the mystery of many white spaces of ignorance

In the coming years, through the joining of the inspirational and creative forces of human spirits, a great amount of beneficial work can be done in this

At the same time, people will be directly pressed towards it by the experiencing that is to come

Thus the two opposite paths – the path of magnetic attraction in those who seek the Aether from inner motives, and that of those who will be pushed to seek it by outward events – will finally meet at exactly the moment which has long since been appointed from out of the Light

It is always better to choose the path of voluntary decision, which is determined by the inner longing for knowledge

This path bears within it the promise of the blessing of a great many inspirations, which can convey far more than a path formed in haste and out of need under the pressure of urgent circumstances

May there be as many as possible of those who decide beforehand and voluntarily

In the end, however, everything will be attained almost exactly as it has been predetermined for millennia

Even before an irreversible destruction of the Earth could threaten from the side of men, the turning point will come, and with it, together with the spiritual enlightenment, there will come from the side of the animistic servants a halting of all malevolent people who carry in their volition only notions of an endless influx of possessions and profits at the expense of all purer life

We are nearer to this turning point than most of mankind expects

Thereby we are also already very close to the full knowledge of the development of the building substance from which the universe arose, and everything that is found within it

In this knowledge lies great progress for the further development of life on Earth
