Many people regard the present happening upon the earth as the result of a concurrence of events which take place in the human world and also in nature enduringly, from time immemorial, and which are only in their effects various and in part unforeseeable

Thus there arises in them the supposition that what is happening is that same epoch of human history upon the earth which has accompanied human destinies for whole millennia, only that it now brings further demands for the coming to terms with that which newly approaches

Such is the state of the thinking of a great part of men

Only very few think otherwise

The rigidity of the consciousness of the majority admits of nothing other than a limited material comprehension of all happenings

The near future of the present time is for the majority shrouded in a mist which calls forth a restless foreboding of the coming happening, of which no one knows what it will bring

Even people possessing a partial knowledge, who were permitted to penetrate more deeply into the connections fulfilling themselves in Creation, waver and wait to see how everything will develop further

Only a truly small number of individuals out of the whole of mankind recognise that the events which take place upon this earth have endured already since the twenties of the last century and are part of something important, far higher than the merely ever-repeating flow of the human race upon the earth

That in which we move, in which we act and decide whether we shall do this or that, is the completion, proclaimed for millennia, of all the hitherto existence in this part of the world

We stand in the gravest stretch of world happening for the whole of mankind

We are in a time in which, through the sharpest of all divides, the further direction of every single human being is decided

That which has for some time been fulfilling itself, and above all that which just now comes in a renewed, accelerated happening, we may designate as the approaching summit of the promised Holy Judgment of God upon mankind on this earth, which brings the sifting of all that is spiritual

Far stronger in this time is the impact of all the volition and the deciding of man upon his further existence, if in this time he finds himself upon the earth and in his free will gives room to that which will fill his inner being, in which direction he will move in his thoughts and deeds

This impact is the stronger because over all things there spreads a happening of a higher kind which follows the real direction of man in life

And by this real direction is meant his volition, leading either to a good or else to an evil result, or only to a superficial drifting in lukewarmness

This foundation of volition is always contained in everything that is born in the inner stirrings of men and thereafter manifests itself outwardly through their thoughts, their words and their deeds

Of this no one can change anything, however much he may strive

Even if man wished to cease entirely to have wishes and volition, even if in meditation or in an exercise of thought he sought to suppress his volition, yet in the end the strongest inner longing in him will always manifest itself, for everything is now driven by a pressure which is stronger than the human will that might perhaps wish to prevent it

That which is enduringly the strongest in man must therefore show itself outwardly and visibly

For many people it will now be a great surprise that lukewarmness also, which manifests itself in the endeavour to evade one's own independent reflection upon life and upon its grave significance, is reckoned in the threads of fate to the evil

Lukewarmness is now counted to the evil, for in reality it is an evil for the spirit of man, it is a poison which lulls to sleep the most important thing in him, his own free will for the spiritual direction towards the Light

There is nothing more important for man than the recognition of his own spiritual will and of the responsibility for his life which arises from it, since only in the right use of this will can man hasten towards the outcome of his existence, towards the Light

He who rejects this responsibility, which proceeds from the recognition of his own free will resting in the spiritual essence of man, or else uses it for evil, is burdened with a guilt which at the summit of the Judgment will in the end bring his spirit to a fall

The world of men has changed and moves ever further in this change, so that at last the promise of the fulfilment of the Holy Judgment of God over this earth may be completed

The change came at the exact time appointed by God, and that through the entering of the radiation of the Son of Man upon the soil of this material earth

How many people know or do not know of this grave happening is not decisive, for the change in the course of the world has since that time manifested itself for every human being upon the plane of the threads of fate, without delay and with sharpness, and will at last bring the completion in the sifting of men into the good and the ill-willed, without the human acceptance or rejection of the Judgment bearing any significance in this happening

It is not decisive whether men upon the earth agree that this is so or not, for the human will and human wishes have no influence upon this great turning point in the world part of Ephesus

Nor is anyone unknowing, as it might appear at first sight, for in reality every spiritual creature has been informed of the coming happening, whether this was in some way in the present existence upon the earth, or in the times of his past lives, of which everyone had enough for him to have met in some way with the proclamation of the coming of the Son of Man to the Judgment of God over all that lives

Also in the times when the spirit of man wandered in his soul garment through the worlds of the ethereal planes he could hear enough of it

Today no one among the people who are today upon the earth can say that he is unacquainted with it

This excuse will not stand, and on the contrary it will be regarded from the Light as a kind of thinking which has a share in the fostering of superficiality and indolence

The spirit of man in his deepest inner being knows well what now approaches

Of course it holds true that many people are earthly unknowing in this, but earthly unknowing they make themselves alone, in that they refuse in this present life to occupy themselves with these things, or else they do occupy themselves with them, but form out of it only their own conclusions, which almost never correspond to the Laws of God in Creation

This, however, will not help them in the least, for in moments of complete stillness everyone has within his inner being a foreboding of something singular

Very many people then seek to drown this foreboding with all the greater folly, to which they quickly succumb, even as ears of corn attacked by rot fall in the field

Thus, when the power in the returning threads which come back to man now strikes, men will be surprised, because the experiencing which comes with it will appear to the majority as unjust and hard

This fulfilment of the returning threads, however, will bring to everyone solely a just judgment, in the reckoning of all his volition from the standpoint of the Laws of the Will of God, those Laws which have always worked in the fate of man without his wishing to know anything of it

The fulfilment of this sifting will now come back along the threads of fate, which men heed just as little as they devote their attention to all that demands an occupying oneself with anything supraterrestrial in life

The returning threads, however, will awaken all men out of their hitherto rigidity

The exalted Vaenen spin into the threads of the decisions of the human spirits a heightened tension which will bring out their sifting into those who may ascend further to the Light and those who have created for themselves an abyss upon their path, which already at this moment separates them ominously from the possibility of ascending further in their development

It will come down like lightning out of a clear sky and will become the reality of the day

That is because the Vaenen have received the command no longer to lighten anything, nor to prolong anything

The threads woven by them out of all the volition of men, containing even the smallest stirring in man, now draw taut like strings, so that at the right time, through their tension, they may bear into the life of the individual the strengthened return of all his former wishes and longings

For almost a hundred years there has been here the ever increasing pressure of the Judgment of God

Hitherto this pressure was experienced over a longer stretch of time, so that men did not notice it and falsely supposed that what was happening was the course of things which had always been here for millennia

Yet it is not so, and the souls in the ethereal spheres could bring strong proofs against this false conception of earthly men

The Judgment has been here from the very beginning of the entering of the Son of Man into His holy office

Only it was woven over a longer time into the single parts of world happening, with the exception of the second world war, when much of the experiencing of millions of people was condensed into a very short time

After the world war a short time was yet granted to mankind for a spiritual awakening

This time, however, was exhausted some while ago, and now everything will condense within a short time into a powerful experiencing such as has never been here

It will bring an impact for which only very few among men are prepared

Many will blame others for their fate, and it will call forth in them the volition for retribution and for bitter revenge

They will wish that others too should experience an equally heavy fate, and will not wish to reconcile themselves to the fact that for others a milder path through the coming happening is perhaps prepared by their former lives

Thus at the very last there will yet surge up a visible unrest and evil among men, so that it may sweep past and thereafter, under the blows of the Light, all the darkness may be swept from this earth

There will remain only those who receive all that passes around them with humility and with the quiet recognition that the foundation of all the experiencing which returns to them is truly none but they themselves, and that the Holy God long granted them room to change all this and to lay it aside in the awakening of their spiritual inner being to a pure and just life

Long, very long did the exalted Vaenen weave the threads of the fate of men, and patiently they wove the returning streams before man so that he might overcome them and lay them aside

The answer of men to this weaving of theirs, however, was for the most part only contempt for the Grace-filled Love of God and a repeated mockery of fate, whenever the threads slackened and the stars brought into his existence the possibility of a new breathing space after the heavy times before

The threads, guided wisely and at the same time lovingly, returned to men always only in such a way that they could bear all that was to come back to them as the fruit of their former volition and of their own deeds

Thus it alternated in repeated lives, without men divining anything of it, and above all so that they might ripen thereby towards an ever more conscious recognition of the Great Wisdom of God, which therein made it possible for them to draw nearer to the Light whenever they awakened within themselves an earnest longing for the good

Long, very long were the threads woven in the Loving Grace of God, so that man should always first be offered several possibilities of redeeming past errors through a symbolic living through in small happenings, before the truly heavy experiencing arrived

Men, however, saw nothing of the kind in their life, did not wish to see it, because they took it as a matter of course that God would enduringly lighten everything for them

They supposed that He must even rejoice, in His Love for the human spiritual species, when they, from time to time in their wandering through life, thought of Him in a good way and without murmuring

Whenever they succeeded in extricating themselves earthly from heavy experiences, they took it as the result of their own skill, or received it as a sign of a fortune which had inclined towards them in the hour of highest need, but immediately thereafter, instead of giving thanks to the Grace of God, they threw themselves into further deeds which must newly burden the threads of the carpet of their fate

Any grace which manifested itself, and still manifests itself, in the life of man is received by him as a matter of course and as an everyday affair

But when his own threads of fate crush man and press him down into pain, he cries out at once for justice and raises his voice in a bitter cry: “Why just I? For what is this given me? What have I done to anyone that I must experience what I am experiencing?!”

Withal he does not wish to see even a little the manner of life which often brought thereto the ripeness of the soil for that experiencing which in the Laws of Creation had to reach man

Many a one holds his own life to be sufficient, holds it to be better than the lives which others lead, and does not think even a little of the Justice of God, which through the weaving of his fate brings only the result of what he once brought to life for other men and for the world

He does not consider that there must now return to him also the lukewarmness and the superficiality which had a share in the letting slip of the important time which was granted to him

He does not wish to think of it, because he is frightened by the conception that somewhere around him there are careful weavers of the carpet of his fate, who weave and record everything that his immature volition brings to life

That there are here around him the Vaenen, who record and also weave into the threads even the smallest volition proceeding from him, which must one day return for adjustment, of this earthman does not think, for it would only disquiet him yet more, would frighten him in the realisation of all that he has done, of all that he can but recall with his earthly memory

The Vaenen – exalted, glorious, small and great, delicate and rugged, untiring and incorruptible in their service, all of them together from time immemorial faithfully devoted to the Will of God, which for them stands in the highest place, above all else

The Vaenen – men know nothing of them, yet they are those who know the deepest inner being of every single human being

They see every stirring of the inner being and weave from it at once a thread which runs into the far distances of the universe, so as to return at the right time and to fulfil itself, like an unexpectedly returning happening of fate

Since almost a hundred years ago the Vaenen began, at the command of the Son of Man, to weave threads directed towards the strengthened fulfilment of the fate of every one of the men who were here upon the earth, we now stand close before the visible impact of the reciprocal action of all the remaining threads which await their discharge

Now there are preparing events which will make it possible to bring to life unexpectedly swiftly all that still awaits every one of men

For a small part of men it will bring the return of the fruit of good volition, for the remaining part the preponderating fruit of ill volition

To everyone all will come exactly according to the kind of his sowing

Strengthened now are the streams which roll like an avalanche of events in the threads of the fate of men

It will stream irresistibly to all men, for the Ray of Parzival opened at the Festival of the Pure Lily the way which permits an accelerated return of the happenings in the strongest measure for the whole of mankind, which is now, at the close of the Judgment, to be purified or else rejected

It is already here, and nothing and no one will now halt it

The hitherto resistance of the intellect is at an end

Not even the strongest intellectual volition of human skill can avail anything against it

All the measures worked out by men which seek to balance the now shifting preponderance of the intellectual world will always collapse, almost immediately after being brought to life

The threads of the Vaenen, the faithful servants of the Justice of God, will shake all things to their deepest foundation

In the end there will remain here only confusion and a complete uprooting from the hitherto accustomed manner of life

For many people their lifelong plans, to which they sacrificed all their earthly time hitherto, will collapse

The path of mankind, which even now seems to lead forward, will be lost, and together with it there will fall into ruins the hope of a continuation of the present, in which all the proud striving of the earthly world is contained

Only one single way makes possible the mitigating of the impact of all the returning threads upon man

The way of the complete transformation of the volition of man in his all-embracing striving towards the good, towards the Light

That alone has now still the possibility of finding support with the Vaenen, and therein too is contained the grace-filled weakening of the returning waves which bring man back all that came of his former sowing

At a true purification of the inner being of an awakened man his attunement may at the last moment still link on certain threads of grace and of protection which are prepared for all men who think and act in translucent purity

Yet even here there is a pitfall, for many very soon slacken in their striving when nothing extraordinary happens at once in their own life

A great number of people also do not know at all what is meant when the volition for the good and for the Light is seen from the standpoint of that which benefits the spirit

In their entanglement in the dense threads of errors they almost always confuse the good of the spirit with the good of the earthly kind

They do not know what the rebirth of the spirit is, to which they granted no greater attention, for they squandered all their power upon the outward earthly world

And those who did occupy themselves with inward things still hold withal far too much vanity and conceit to recognise within themselves the pure humility which is one of the first manifestations of a real spiritual volition

The volition for the good and for the Light means for the spirit of man in the first place an earnest seeking of the Truth about the real meaning of the existence of man

It demands the highest striving for the finding of the Truth about human life, about its high significance from the standpoint of the spiritual essence of man

Therein lies precisely the way out of which Jesus already spoke to His hearers, and also the Son of Man in the Grail Message brought by Him

He who wishes to find a spiritual way out of the coming confusions needs to hold in his hands the rescuing rope for his spirit

He must occupy himself with this rescuing rope with all his strength, even if he must hunger or deny himself earthly sleep

His spirit needs to drink of the Word of the Lord, so that it may awaken and find the way to the Light

Only in a striving to which he devotes all the inner volition of his spirit will the rescuing grace and the helping Love for his ascent be spun for him by the Vaenen into the threads of fate, without which he could not withstand the power of the returning threads which now roll down upon all earthly mankind

Yet even with this Grace and this Love it will demand of such a man the highest straining of all his powers, that he may stand firm in all that comes

A single wavering will swiftly bring near again threads working at high speed and pressure, in which man will hardly stand firm

If men only divined how much is now prepared for them in the threads woven by their personal weavers out of all the past which they brought to life, they would not occupy themselves for a single moment with reflections as to whether such a thing can come, but with all their strength would throw themselves into the work upon themselves, so as to purify everything and to bring all to clarity from the very foundation of their spiritual inner being

Spiritual mobility would awaken in them a reverent humility before the Laws of God in Creation

A making themselves small and a quiet seeking of new ways would lead them forward in their recognising of the right way

They would occupy themselves with being prepared to dissolve the returning threads in their all-embracing volition for the good, in which alone there offers itself to them the possibility of repaying all to the last farthing in a symbolic redemption

Then they would also recognise that together with the Justice of God, through the weaving of the Vaenen, they are surrounded also by the infinite Love of God, which helps them in the moment when their volition proves itself in earnest to be enduringly directed towards a new, purified existence

This glorious helping stream of radiation is a part of the present change in world happening

It is contained as a counterweight to the sharpness and the hardness with which, under the Ray of Parzival, all that is still to return to earthly men will fall in acceleration upon this earth

The condition for the linking on of this loving, helping stream is, however, the complete purification of the inner being of man

He who steps forth to meet the coming days with humility in his heart and also with the will to be helping and supporting towards all that needs his help may unite himself in his inner being with the said streams of the Loving radiation

The world has changed, and men need now with all speed to change themselves, so that they may continue in their further existence in this glorious Creation

Otherwise they will remain aside and will be blown away like all that now stands and still sets itself in the way of the Divine resurrection of the human spirit in the Subsequent Creation
