That one of the most precious things which the spirit of man is to bring to life within himself is the mobility in his pure intuitive perceiving

It is only the living mobility in the intuitive perceiving of the spirit which is able to bring about in the experiencing of man that fulfilment of the sublime values of the Word of Truth which is expected by the Creator

Without this liveliness the saving Word of Truth, the Grail Message will remain for all knowing men only a dead scheme, it will become, in spite of all the refreshing clarity contained in It, in the hands of inwardly immobile men in the end only a dogma, not unlike other religious doctrines in which there rules a lamentably narrowed view upon the work of Creation and also upon the Creator Himself

Where there is no enduring liveliness, there everything at once withers, like a leaf torn from the tree

Without mobility in the intuitive perceiving of the spirit it is not possible even for man himself to maintain within himself for long a brightly shining spiritual spark

In the end such a one perishes within himself, although his outward body may yet for some time exist earthly, driven by the fading vibrations of the power going forth from the spiritual spark

Yet the spirit itself has already grown faint within itself and died, it has been extinguished

It gave up its inner will, its life of intuitive perception

The life of such a man is then only a mechanical moving along the worn grooves of accustomed thinking

Only out of an inner, inextinguishable liveliness flows self-actingly the interest in all that is important in the matters of the spirit

It is precisely the living mobility which is the originating power in the development of the spiritual core in each of us

Although to knowing men all this is evident, there dwells nevertheless in many of them still the burning question, how this mobility of the spirit really looks, how it manifests itself

A vibration of apprehension from time to time shakes man in the question whether he really proceeds rightly, whether to the Light and to God he appears inwardly sufficiently mobile

A great question thus goes among the multitudes of seeking and also of knowing men, "What is spiritual mobility"

Many hold that the mobility of the spirit rests in their thinking, in the keenness and the swiftness of the way they ponder things, how they appraise them and how these things in return give them a sense for their direction in life

They hold that their own spiritual mobility rests in the appraising of things and situations in such a way that they may stand firm in them and have as few cares as possible, while at the same time thinking kindly of other men and being gentle and just towards their fellow-men

That is assuredly right, but it is only the basic part of the real mobility which the Creator laid into the spiritual spark of man, so that he might use it rightly

For thus also ponder and likewise act men of a purely materialistic disposition

How then is it in reality, that man may be spiritually living and mobile

An inseparable, natural part of the mobility of the spirit is the unceasing occupation with the high meaning of life in every moment

Therein is contained the courageous striding forward, just as it was always expected by God the Father of the humanly spiritual species, for therein rests the advance, the development, and thereby also the possibility of attaining the maturity which alone permits entrance into the spiritual home

In the mobility of the spirit there is contained progress and development, driven by the radiant flame of enthusiasm and of joy in God's work of Creation

No spirit here upon earth can therefore rightly live in a lulling rest and in comfort, if anywhere something remains for him inexplicable, unrecognised, if there is something which touches him, for example the question of earthly birth and of earthly death, and he has no clarity in this question

And of such questions there is around man an inexhaustible number

The human spirit should be unappeasable until he finds the answers to these questions

But we see here many men who indeed fear these questions of which they know, who walk timidly around them, yet who are able to suppress within themselves the voice of the spirit still calling, and who remain either wholly and deeply ignorant, or who perhaps have a dim half-knowledge in the matter of such important questions

In the end they deaden within themselves the calling voice, so that they ask after nothing and are not concerned with who they really are and what meaning their life has

Men know that, since they were born, after a time death too will inevitably come, for where there is a beginning there is also an end

How many, however, are there who occupy themselves therewith, so as to arrive at the recognition of what was before they were born and what will come afterwards, when once again they leave their body

A serious question, which stands here from the beginning of the existence of men upon earth

A serious question, which directly presses itself upon man that he should occupy himself with it

Nevertheless many let themselves be distracted in life by things which, set against the answering of this important open beginning caused by their birth and of the unavoidable end arising from it through earthly death, are nothing

What, set against this, is the experiencing of the greatest material challenges in life, when the answers to the fundamental questions about the meaning of the whole earthly life remain in a comfortless ignorance

Where is that highest endeavour to find, in the most strenuous struggle, the answers to these wholly fundamental things in life

All this bears witness only to the immobility of the spiritual part in man

For if this remained mobile, then nothing would halt it in its seeking until everything were clear and intelligible to it, from the first letter to the last

The immobility of the spirit is a mark of inner weakness, of the faintness of the spiritual spark

Against this, there should blaze in all men the unceasing movement of the torch of seeking, whereby the inner being of man cannot be stilled until an ever more complete Truth surrounds him, bringing the refreshing breath of the recognition of the meaning of all things as a whole, which directs the spirit onto the way leading to his true goal

The overcoming of hindrances in the struggle of the spirit upon the way to this high goal is that movement which is precisely beneficial to the spirit and which he needs for his development

The living work of assembling the recognised particulars into an ever more complete whole, that is the approach to life which may be called movement

It is not, however, the work of dry pondering alone – of philosophising in an armchair, but a simultaneous part of it is the observing of the happenings, the intuitive perceiving and the carrying over of the living examples which take place in gross materiality directly in life into all the connections with the inner being in man

All that is recognised in the materiality around is to be livingly joined with the corresponding principles upon the soul and the spiritual plane of man, for these work according to the same Laws of Creation, only they have their effect in the finer planes of the worlds above this matter

This can surely be experienced and carried out in every work, in every activity of man

At the same time it is needful ever to hold a liveliness which reckons with the measure of probability that everything already attained in the comprehension of man will yet move onward and develop and will therefore surely undergo further transformations in its development in the gaining of a widened recognition

Nothing stands still, everything is in movement, and in the great work of Creation everything undergoes transformations which develop out of the fundamental Laws, which alone are unchangeable

Man, with the capacity of his spiritual survey, cannot take in everything, however often he regards himself as a knower of things

This is to lead everyone to the acceptance of a great humility before the vastness of the whole work of Creation in comparison with his own survey

Humility lessens that criticalness through which precisely ignorance and immobility manifest themselves

Alas, very often it holds good that the ignorance of man, touched by even only the glimmer of the smallest grain of knowledge, often at once regards itself as very knowing

This grain is then greatly trumpeted out into the world, and the men who receive it as a foundation do not surmise that thereby they again create for themselves only a wrong way which they will be compelled to walk to the bitter end

Thus it has been upon earth almost always, and the glittering grains of single recognitions confused spiritually comfortable men, until in the end they led their direction away from the healthy way to the recognising of the complete Truth

Yet it holds good that, on the contrary, true knowledge and wisdom bear within themselves an ever greater measure of the admitting of the possibility that things will yet unfold further, will be completed and heightened by new recognition

For every discerning of the healthy from the unhealthy man is provided with the liveliness of his intuitive perception

Liveliness is the natural armour against rigidifying in narrow, immobile grooves

A real participation in life demands a lasting readiness for a possible advance, for progress towards the better, the truer, which newly offers itself to man

It also opens for such a man the prospect upon ever more complete horizons in the work of Creation

Joyful are the souls in the ethereal worlds who bring with them an openness to the new, who are not halted within themselves by their clinging to their conceptions about Creation, about the Creator and His Will

The most precious thing which a soul can carry with it into the further continuation of its being in the finer worlds of the materialities is a purely childlike openness longing for the recognising of the new

A purely childlike openness is a great advantage for the further being of each of men

A supposed knowledge of the Word of Truth here in the earthly, which is founded upon mere intellectual research, is often a worthless equipment, for it brings the danger of clinging to particulars and thereby brings, on the contrary, a hindrance to movement and a rigidifying

At the same time the supposition of the ownership of some recognition is again a hindrance to movement, if this recognition does not itself summon to the seeking and the examining of what lies further

It is, alas, precisely insufficient mobility which leads to man halting upon a certain step of recognition and not continuing further, in contentment with what he already has

Thus many Christians are proud of their knowledge of the Bible, and in this seeming knowledge they reject the gift of the Word of the Grail Message, which brings far clearer and more complete vistas upon the recognition of the work of Creation and also upon the Son of God, Jesus, and upon God the Father Himself

Instead of setting themselves resolutely to a serious examination of this gift, which brings a widening of the knowledge of the paths of the human spirit through the Subsequent work of Creation and of all the connections bound up therewith, the greater part of such men reject the newly brought Truth in a proud defence of their faith

That thereby they wholly close with a heavy lock the way to the higher, conscious wandering through the work of Creation, which is so important for them, they will not admit in their supposed pride

It would be just the same also with the other religions, philosophies and spiritual currents, however many of them exist upon earth

Alas, with the greatest part of the adherents of doctrines and creeds it is so

Here great honour is due to the exceptions, who were able to free themselves through their own living movement in the inner being

But alas, not even those are exempt here from this immobility who have their knowledge drawn directly from the Word of the Grail Message

They too often have their valve upon mobility, and this leads them to rigidifying and to the rejection of much which comes and which naturally unfolds the fundamental structure of the Word of Truth

Although they know that the Word of Truth was to have been far more comprehensive and that, for reasons which rested upon the lack of comprehension and the immobility of some of those called around the Son of Man, it could not be carried further, even though in many places there is a promise of it in the Word of Truth itself, which they know well, they nevertheless have their valve

And thus there is here again a great hindrance in the closedness arising out of the immobility, which with these knowing ones halted upon the given step, in the supposition that they already know enough, indeed that they know everything

Although their spiritual spark calls for the further recognising of ever finer sections of the work of Creation, although the spirit by its nature longs to know much more, outwardly there is laid here the lid of a thought-scheme that nothing new will come any more, and if it does, they do not need it

What a contradiction emerges from the picture of everyday life, when on the one hand it is said that nothing further is needful, for in the Word of Truth there is everything, and at the same time in the daily manner of acting of many there can at once be read, for example, the persisting complete severance from the world of the animistic servants

Is there then no contradiction therein, when there is talk of the sufficiency of all knowledge and recognition, yet when something unexpectedly new happens in the material development of things, many reach for the thought-forms of the most varied and most senseless conspiracies and suppositions created by ignorant men out of the morass of fantasy which today fills the space around the earth, instead of there blazing in their hands the clear, calming recognition of that which is really happening in the linking with the world of the animistic servants and also arising out of a strong linking with the luminous spiritual helpers who are above them

A great part of the said men pass over this distinct rift and still regard themselves as knowing ones, as those who know the Word of the Grail Message, even though in their daily thinking whole parts of the needful recognition of what is happening and of what they ought to do are lacking

Outwardly we see the rejection of the new, but at the same time there is here a feeble recognition of the connections in which men flounder

The spirit wishes to go forward, it calls for a free flight, but it is blocked by dogma in thinking

It is strange, but it is a part of many men who always collide with everything newly coming, who fight with it and often find the only solution in the complete mental rejection of this new thing

It is just as grotesque as when a knowing man knows that many of the former inhabitants of the times of the Middle Ages, who denied the knowledge of the universe, of the circling of the planet Earth around the sun and of further astronomical discoveries, fought furiously against them at the very beginning of these discoveries, only to become afterwards, when it was graciously granted to them to come again to earth in the continuation of their spiritual development and in the laying aside of their past faults, self-evident or even enthusiastic adherents of that which they themselves had earlier persecuted and sought to suppress

In the world of thoughts there had meanwhile ripened the preponderance of acknowledgment by the greater part of men, and thereby the discoveries were accepted

Together with the body they received, these men also received the predisposition that already as children they would with ease accept that with which in their past life they still fought and which they rejected

When they then themselves meet with the reminder that in earlier times someone perhaps denied it, they laugh and merrily picture to themselves what naive reactionaries those must have been

Alas, thus it is upon earth among men, and the inner movement, which alone makes it possible upon meeting the new to recognise at once its worth and its significance, is lacking to the greater number

This holds good especially with those things which cannot be verified and proved at once

Thus it happened precisely also with the Word of Truth and above all with the recognition that it was brought by the Son of Man, who for that purpose descended from the heights of the Grail as Parzival, the King of the Grail, with whom there then united here the very essence of the Holy Spirit, Imanuel

The mistrust of men is always a great hindrance if they are not at the same time willing to expend all their inner striving upon the intuitive perceiving and the observing of the connections in these things so weighty for them

It is just the same also in the case of the Way of the Grail, which comes now in order at the last moment to complete important parts in the recognition of the knowing ones, so that these may be truly prepared for the happenings which are already in movement and which in the coming prospect of years will not halt, but will go on in the unstoppable collapse of the materially founded society and also of all the religions which have deviated from the Truth, which in Creation springs forth from the Grail into all the other worlds and planes

The Way of the Grail brings a great widening of the connections which link to that which was interrupted, when from many of those called there withdrew the spiritual and also the animistic mediators of the pictures, when from the Light it was already seen that the plan of the liberation of the human spirits, prepared for thousands of years by many servants, would not be fulfilled

Now there comes only a small part of the original, complete knowledge which was to have been given to men for their further existence upon earth

Nevertheless even this small part will gradually become an integral knowledge of men about many happenings which are a part of the inner world of men and also of the world around them

It will be a part of the education of even small children, for to this end there will be here further called ones who will adapt it for children, so that these may already grow up in the complete knowledge of their path in its spiritual significance

The present attitude of men who meet with the pictures which the Way of the Grail brings is more or less threefold, just as it always was upon earth when something helping was brought from the Light

In the first place there are here men who gratefully receive it and work with it already today, so as to move onward and to gain for their spirit more power for the ascent

Then there are here men who collide with it, for seemingly various reasons which however have only one cause, and that is the unwillingness to permit movement to their spirit, which they hold with dogmatic thoughts under their dominion

And finally there is here the greatest part of those who as yet know nothing at all of it and are not even concerned with it, because their spiritual immobility is too great for them to wish to recognise at least something of it

The first, who recognise it and draw from it, need not to rigidify, so that when again something further and new comes, they too may not be taken by surprise

The second, when perhaps they return again in bodies to earth for further progress, will already receive it as self-evident, because it will be everywhere around them in the world of thoughts, and the way to the receiving of it as a self-evident part of life will already have been broken open for them

The third belong to the multitudes of whom upon earth there was always a great number

If perhaps they still manage in awakening to rouse themselves to movement and in ardent striving thus gain for themselves time for further ripening, they will need to make up for much, so as to become knowing here or in the worlds of the ethereal planes

Those who heed the most important thing, the movement in their spirit, they have now the best fitness to pass through all the happenings which lie before us

And if perhaps they should be called away and pass over to the other shore, let them take it as a still greater opportunity to advance forward, for they will no longer be hindered by the rigid thought-structure which the greater part of men have made habitual in their lives as a fixed scheme of opinion

Freed from this rigidity of thought, they will be able all the more with ease and with joy to advance further towards the luminous places where much of what is published here in the Way of the Grail is self-evident

Everyone has his place from which he can climb upward

It is exactly that place upon which he just now stands

Let him therefore do everything so that his inner living movement may bear him ever higher and higher
