A great part of the people on earth today perceive that penetrating changes are drawing near

With each day the present way of life is shaken ever more in its foundations

There is hardly a place left where the coming of these changes has not managed to announce itself in some form

As an accompanying phenomenon a great uncertainty goes hand in hand with it

An unrest is awakened which shakes the multitudes of human souls throughout all nations

And precisely this time is a beginning call to the many who are to show themselves as those who stand calmly and objectively in it all, for they have the answers to many questions concerning the present happening in the Grail Message, in the Word brought from the Light of the Primordial Eternal Truth

Peacefulness and an earnestness full of peace are to be the accompanying testimony of him who bears within himself the living knowledge of the Truth

It is to be a marked contrast to all the unrest, the uncertainty and the growing chaos

Everything needful is therefore to be done so that in the inner being of that man who was permitted to know the Truth and who rightly received it into his inner being there may lastingly spread a peace of a healing kind, working beneficially for himself and for others

Only in this lies the true help directed towards the spiritual inner being of men

Yet something of this kind cannot be attained without a fully unfolded condition of the all-embracing volition for good in him who holds the Truth in his hands

The all-embracing volition for good

People still do not know what to make of this demand of the Light mentioned in the texts on the Way of the Grail

It is because many suppose that they are to be fighters against every untruth and injustice that occurs, that they have a duty to strive with all their strength for the world to become better solely through their zealously combating the existing evil in manifold ways

This kind of thinking, which in the earthly comprehension of men is ingrained into the depths of their inner being, leads however again and again to reflecting in old forms, which in the end issues in strong agitation, in unrest and not seldom in anger, that is, in the clouding of blood which was perhaps originally clearer

It is a sign of the misunderstanding of the concept of the fight for the Light, of the fighter of the Light

In the service of God the Creator demands of man no outward fight nor struggle, but there is expected solely the winning of the inner battle over all his own weaknesses and shortcomings, as of something which always greatly hinders the human spirit in his great and full service to the Light

Precisely these weaknesses, or in other words these errors in the comprehension of God's grace-filled greatness, are the greatest obstacles to any readiness for the coming time being spoken of in people who hold the Grail Message in their hands

The strongest armour is precisely that which many still lack – the peacefulness and the peace of man born out of a fully experienced trust in the All-Wisdom of God, in which, together with Justice, Love and Purity, all that is most needful for the whole of life in Creation is contained

Through the lack, visible everywhere around, of that calm peacefulness which arises out of a mature comprehension of all the accompanying phenomena of the changes now in progress, there is then weakened that part of the fulfilling which rests upon human participation in the time of the coming spiritual enlightenment on earth

The participation of men in the great rebirth of life on earth lies in their taking part in the work of the great spiritual enlightenment

The spiritual enlightenment is not merely the spreading of the news of the presence of the work the Grail Message on earth, but this great enlightenment lies in the carrying over of the knowledge of the Truth into life everywhere where the ways for it are already prepared today

And of these ways there is a great number

Made ready beforehand by the hands of the weavers, these ways nevertheless lie fallow, for the strength is directed by many people to a petty fight with evil in a thousand single matters, instead of being directed in calm concentration there where everything is prepared and where in reality there are no obstacles, and the non-fulfilment lies only in the insufficient occupation of men with these ways

Much strength is squandered on futile battles and clashes which will never bring anything of worth, because they are only the constant repetition of human ways which have been here for millennia

It is a biting into seemingly great aims, such as the removal of the present lamentably erring conditions of life on earth, whose solving appears to earthman as fundamental, yet from the standpoint of the Light they always were and even today still are only a consequence and not a cause

Hitherto men have as a rule always dealt only with the consequences, never with the causes

It goes again and again along the old tracks, only the forms appear at first as new when the striving surges up anew

A new naming of something which nevertheless still roots in the old will never bring the needed refreshment and enthusiasm for the needed change

That which is expected from the Light as new is to be truly new from the ground up, not merely outwardly

The new is precisely the manner in which the received knowledge of the Truth is reshaped by men into the building up of everything upon foundations quite other than hitherto, instead of that same strength being used for battles which exhaust and always of necessity destroy the peacefulness and the peace in individuals and in all communities

In one of the first places of the new building it holds good that never here has the living degree of co-operation with the animistic servants been attained, as it should long since have been

The animistic servants are in this again the important bridge to co-operation with all the further spiritual and primordially spiritual helpers who need to draw near to men through an awakened receptivity, which has its foundation in the intuitive sensing of all that is animistic

There can be no speaking of a connection with anything higher if the conscious path of the knowledge of the Wisdom of God has not first been trodden through co-operation with the animistic servants, who are sent by this Wisdom of God as the nearest living seeds of helping hands for the pure human striving towards the Light

On this lack there has hitherto foundered all the honest striving of the whole period which men in retrospect designate as the age of Christianity

Where the animistic is excluded from the co-operation, there the collapse of all the rest always threatens, for the building is weakened by the loss of an important intermediate link

And here again a similar mistake is made by many people who hold the work the Grail Message in their hands, when the animistic is overlooked and belittled as unimportant for human striving

On this kind of spiritual rigidity there also came to a halt the striving of many human spirits who were permitted to work in the time of the earthly incarnation of Parzival into the nation then called

And this mistake is repeated anew, for the mistrust and the disdain towards the animistic working is a continuing guilt with many

Yet the animistic is the outermost stage of the manifesting of the Will of God here in the materialities

Whoever therefore disdains the animistic and supposes that for him only the occupation with the present human world, which is entirely severed from the other parts of Creation, is important, he is not in the least prepared for the coming time of great changes

In order that a co-operation of man with the animistic servants may be spoken of, it is not needful to speak with them in any way nor to see them, but through a developed receptivity to sense their work, to esteem it and to trust them wholly in their wise shaping of the happenings in matter

To trust the animistic servants, who now work wholly in the Ray of Parzival, means to trust Parzival himself and also the Holy Spirit Imanuel, who partakes in Parzival through his radiation which connects directly with God the Father

Out of this trust, from which conviction can first be born, there may stream to man a radiation bearing peacefulness and peace within itself

But that is only the very beginning of all that which a man with the knowledge of the work the Grail Message is to bear within himself as inseparable armour for the time which is already close before us

A further basic condition for the preparation for the coming happening lies in man's openness to changes, and above all in his clinging to nothing that stems from the present social world

This is also the hardest thing standing before every single inhabitant of the earth

It is of course right and important to care for all that exists with the responsibility of a good steward, but at the same time it is needful to cling to none of it

To this belong not merely things of material origin, such as possessions or the human body itself, but here belongs also every disposition in human thinking

This demand therefore contains the necessary mobility in the way each new experience is to be worked with in matters which repeat themselves

Everything is to be intuitively perceived and thereby led to a possible change, if a new knowledge is attained

Whoever does not thus develop in his thinking and remains always in the same ways of acting, although he already clearly senses that he is to advance further, he burdens himself with guilt, for he refuses to let into the development of his spirit the law of movement, in which alone lie development and ascent

Development is needful everywhere where life is found in the materialities

It does not pass man by either, and least of all the ways of his thinking

In everything progress, and thereby ascent, is to be discernible

Lasting exertion leads to the independence and the freedom of the spirit

Independence is the most precious treasure for man, for it bears within itself the certainty of his own self-conscious maturity

This holds good even at the price of a possible temporary erring

If a man goes rightly, then he will surely err less and less, until at last, together with his coming to know the flowing of the Will of God through Creation, he will one day not err at all

This will also teach him that here in the materialities he needs to be so free that it does not even in part hinder the liveliness of his spirit, which in the first place needs ever strenuously to follow the direction towards the Light

The striving towards the Light is a living happening which demands an unceasing occupation with what still holds good as man's highest knowledge and what has already been surpassed under new experiences

Development in the materialities goes ever forward, be it with the individual or with the whole of mankind

It is therefore needful to learn not to cling to anything existing, if it should become an obstacle in the development of the spirit

Clinging to anything which in new discoveries has shown itself to be surpassed leads to rigidity and thereby to dogmatism

Yet in this are contained standstill and decay, whatever it may concern

Yet before the honestly striving man who seeks the Will of the Creator ever new vistas of the greatness of Creation, which for the spiritual species is an inexhaustible source of knowledge, can open again and again without interruption

For this, however, a certain courage is needful in man, which does not remain clinging to anything that in its insufficiency has already become past

This attitude of clinging to nothing existing which shows itself to be surpassed begins with every man in the foundation of his manner of thinking, where the seeking of all ways forward is gradually to change into an asking after the right direction of development, which of itself leads to the asking after the Wisdom of the Will of God

Precisely in this kind of vibrating lies the whole world of animistic working

It is the following and the fulfilling of development in accord with the Harmony of Creation

The animistic servants, like the whole of nature and the universe, subordinate themselves wholly and joyfully to this kind of development, for in it they recognise their service to the higher whole of living being

In this manner the animistic ones serve the All-Father, as they call the Creator, the Holy God known and worshipped by men

The further thing belonging to that new is the comprehension that men now find themselves in the surroundings of the Ray of Parzival

They literally circle around it, so as to awaken in the power of the radiation from its Living Light and be drawn nearer, or so as to be driven through their closedness ever further out to the outer circles, which are more distant and more sluggish in their manner of being

Some are drawn near and are therein refreshed by the nearness of the Light radiating from the glowing Ray, which penetrates the planes from above downwards

In the nearness of the Ray it is made possible for them to rise upwards more swiftly, for a power of magnetic attraction of purely spiritual origin works upon them

In the nearness of the Ray it is now possible for everyone to ripen more easily for the spiritual home in the Light

At a greater distance from the Ray, however, there works an ever greater spiritual cooling, and thereby also a rigidity leading to complete weakening and to the loss of consciousness

Thereby all men are sorted quite of themselves, for their path is determined by their own will, which leads them either to the Light or on the contrary removes them from the Light

That circling around the Ray of Parzival leads to yet one further consequence, which is the same as it was in the time of the direct presence of Parzival in a gross material body on earth

This consequence lies in the fact that individual spirits striving for the service of the Light can approach the Ray entirely directly, and that independently of the outward earthly intermediate stages formed of other people

Thereby the severing off of further human spirits through the failure of those who were to form the intermediate stages is excluded

The circling around the Ray does not require the intermediate stages which are needful in the upward direction, for the Ray is quite near to all men

The Ray works directly upon the individual human spirit

In order for this or that human spirit to fulfil in his kind of service, he therefore does not need the earthly necessity of a direct hierarchy, as it was hitherto

He can serve, can fulfil exactly and admirably in his kind of abilities, without being led in it by some other who is likewise in an earthly body

Yet something of this kind does not in the least exclude co-operation or accord in a common striving in some matter

It will however remain a matter of the free decision of each one

Spiritual service cannot be fettered by that which hitherto has always shown itself as the result of the wavering and the failing of human spirits, out of whom the single stages in the upward direction were formed

Thereby all associations which lay claim to something of this kind lose their validity

Here only voluntariness is to hold good, for the compelling of anyone to something against the will of that other man, however skilfully it may be done through intellectual enticement or through threats, stands against the present ordering which is brought by the immediate nearness of the Ray of Parzival

No one is to be subordinated to anyone in this until the time when the life of men on earth is reborn and a condition arises in which the gradations in the caste order and also in social life and on all levels of public administration are formed

Only then, when in the purification following upon the spiritual enlightenment everything raises itself higher towards the Light, will it be possible to regard the new shaping of the life of men as more trustworthy, in that every spiritual wavering or even failure of an individual will be quickly visible to the majority of people

Those therefore who have brought gifts within themselves for their use in the help of other people are to develop these gifts independently of anyone else

His guide is to be his own pure striving for spiritual progress in the following of the Wisdom of God

If then such striving through magnetic attraction awakens interest in other people, then the responsibility of him who will meet the people thus coming is always to be remembered, so that he may always lead them to independence in their spiritual ascent

Thus it holds good that co-operation and mutual helping among men is in no way excluded, nor perhaps to be regarded as something wrong

On the contrary, a great blessing can always arise from it, provided that consistent condition of free decision, and thereby of voluntary joining in some matter, is upheld

Any setting of conditions which those coming would be compelled to accept against their will, and that even in view of their trustfulness or their immaturity, may be regarded as wrong conduct

In the work of the animistic servants threads are also at once woven which will in the end demand the experiencing of atonement from those who err in this

If this manner in the service of the Light is made their own by men and upheld, then many souls will gradually grow up in it, who will thereafter with their fervent thanks bear witness for those who in this striving now place themselves at the beginning of the happening, so as to take upon themselves, each for himself, voluntarily and independently, the task of the vanguard which now with effort treads out the new path

All this belongs to the preparations for the coming time of great changes

Besides this there is yet an unsurveyable series of things which are contained everywhere around us and upon which the work the Grail Message also affords a certain view, but these things, which contain whole worlds of invisible forces and happenings in Creation, have not yet been recognised, and still less brought into the thinking comprehension of men on earth

In this lies the great task of the coming spiritual enlightenment

This spiritual enlightenment is in part laid into the hands of the people called to it by the Light, for it requires the attaining of a degree of glowing-through for the forming of the channels of discovery, which always happens only through the striving of a greater number of people occupying themselves with homogeneous themes

For something of this kind free circles are to be formed, which will take shape on the ground of a homogeneous kind of thoughts

This step thus stands directly before earthmen, who are to fulfil it in a new approach to the concept of the service of the Light

Much activity is contained in it for everyone who feels himself drawn to the Light in this time

Now the time is here which bears within itself many opportunities for the beginning of a period which will one day be known as the surging up of a wave of enthusiasm for the great spiritual enlightenment of mankind on earth

May a great part of those spirits endowed by the Light, who came to earth for this very purpose, recognise the way in it
