What do we need for the preparing and making of this preparation for the animistic servants working in the root system of the plants

Here we give the list:

Dried herbs:

- Stinging nettle – leaf, Urtica diotica – folium (5 parts of the mixture)

- Blackberry – leaf, Rubus ideaus – folium (1 part of the mixture)

- Raspberry – leaf, Rubus idetus – folium (1 part of the mixture)

- Red-leaved grapevine – leaf, Vitis viniferae – folium (1 part of the mixture)

- Lovage – leaf, Levisticum officinale – folium (1 part of the mixture)

- Parsnip – root, Pastinacea sativa – radix (1 part of the mixture)

- Dill – fruit, Anethum graveolens – fructus (0.1 part of the mixture – in common speech, a pinch)

Other requisites for the making:

- 4 undamaged snail shells (already empty)

- 4 larger dried raisins (home-grown, or obtained from organic growers)

- 24-carat gold leaf – (one leaf of 8×8 cm suffices)

- white silica sand in the amount of 1 kilogram

- home-produced honey, 100 grams

- 1 three-litre (preserving) jar or a similar vessel of clear glass

- clean rainwater or other soft water in the amount of two litres

The procedure of preparation:

We wash the snail shells, which are to be undamaged, and clean out their inner, already empty chamber. We let them dry well.

In the meantime we make ready the “core” for each of the shells. The “core”, or in other words the “seed of the drink”, consists of a raisin which we coat with honey. The 8x8cm leaf of gold we first divide into four parts, and then we carefully wrap the individual raisins in it. We proceed very warily, because gold in its thin layer tends to tear and to bunch up. Whoever has coarser hands and fingers may use tweezers. If, however, it happens that the leaf is damaged while being laid on the raisin, let us not throw it away. It is important that the raisin be covered for the greater part, but the leaf need not unconditionally be whole and without a single tear.

Next we make ready the “filling” for the snail shell out of the mixture of herbs, which are to be finely ground, for example in an electric coffee mill.

We mix these herbs together into one mixture, and after this mixing we add the honey in order to create the paste of the “filling”.

We stir the mixture with the honey thoroughly once more, until a herb-and-honey paste arises.

Into the shells, which need to be well dried inside, we place one raisin wrapped in gold leaf each. This “core” needs to be pushed as deep into the shell as possible. Let us go about it very carefully, because the shell is fragile.

After placing the “core” into the interior of the shell we take the mixed paste of ground herbs with honey and, just as carefully as when inserting the “core”, we gradually fill the paste with a little wooden stick into the whole space of the shell, right up to the rim. While filling we use no metal tools! We gently tamp down the rim, level it and finally smooth it.

These four filled and prepared shells we lay on the bottom of the jar so that they are evenly spread out in the form of a cross. Onto the shells thus laid we pour the silica sand. We again proceed carefully, so that the shells are not shifted in relation to one another but still form a cross. This we can check through the transparent bottom of the jar. We layer the silica sand to roughly one quarter of the height of the jar. Then we fill up the content of the jar to three quarters with rainwater or other soft water.

With this step the first part of the preparation is finished, and now begins the part of the ripening of “The Drink for the Root Goblins”:

For this part we place the jar in a quiet spot where the rays of the sun reach it during the day for at least a few hours, and where the white light of the moon can also reach it. Take care: we protect the jar from night frosts.

We cover the jar from above with a small porcelain plate or with another lid of natural material which, however, will not dissolve under the influence of the weather or release substances of its own into the content of the jar. Wood and paper are therefore not suitable.

“The Drink for the Root Goblins” thus prepared we let ripen for at least two whole phases of the moon. It makes no difference in which phase we place the content in the spot for ripening.

After this part we may draw off the first ripened “Drink” for use in the garden.

We can mix it with water in a watering can in the proportion of 50 – 100 millilitres to 10 litres of water. We can also use it in the same proportion in a spray bottle for spraying on the beds.

Both when watering and when spraying let us bear in mind that the “Drink” is not given to the beds for the support of the plants, but that we give it to our animistic friends for the improvement of the conditions of their creative work in our garden. We should never harbour thoughts expecting a result that will show itself on the plants; the use of the “drink” should always be our gift to the animistic helpers and also to the soil in which they work.

We apply it gradually, at first approximately once a week, then only twice a month, and finally once a month, when the soil of the beds will already be so saturated with the “drink” that a response from the animistic goblins will quite certainly come in the form of a surprising growth of the plants.

Whoever longs to make “The Drink for the Flower Elves” as well can prepare one more jar by the same procedure. The procedure and the basis of the ingredients are the same as in the case of “The Drink for the Root Goblins”. It is necessary, however, to reckon with a different composition of the herbs used for the filling of the snail shells. The special mixture of herbs for this drink we shall publish separately in the near future.

“The Drink for the Flower Elves” is used in the form of a spray on the plants, or we can add it drop by drop to rainwater placed in a wide, shallow glass bowl. The evaporation of the water carries this “Drink” into the space of the garden, and especially in the shining of the rays of the moon it spreads through the whole space to the joy of the smaller and of the larger elves.

A notice: In the jar with the “Drink” various cloudings may arise during the time of ripening. These cloudings are in order, and there is therefore no cause for concern. The cloudings (white, grey, green) arise through the sugar of the honey being released into the water and through the multiplying of bacteria from the water, the sand and the herbs. The solution of the “Drink” may also seem to give off a bad smell. That too is in order.

Let us remember that what smells pleasant to men does not, as a rule, smell pleasant to the goblins, and the other way round.
