New Writings From the Mountain Have Appeared

How much unrest, expectation, impatience and perhaps also joy these words bring each time among the readers of the Word from every corner of the world! Each of these people pictures something different upon reading them: one looks forward to an ancient writing whose continuation was lost, another broods over writings about the course of the last judgment, yet another supposes that texts will appear which confirm his own view of the happenings on the Mountain, and so on. Let us try to lift the veil a little deeper on what lies hidden behind it. The longing of man constantly to take, to have more than the other, to boast that it was he who discovered something, that he was the one who was right, and much else besides. But what takes place once the first euphoria over the new text has evaporated? A man reads the writing through, perhaps assesses its “quality”, points out a few mistakes which he recounts to others, and lays it in a drawer or on an internet storage, and then with exactly the same attunement as before he lies in wait for new writings which are yet to appear, or which perhaps someone wishes to hide from the others and to claim as his own. Inwardly there pass through him countless questions of this kind: “Why do they not publish them, or what important thing do these writings contain that they try to keep them secret from the rest of us?” To precisely such reflections and trains of thought is everything newly discovered given over as a prey.

“Halt, you men! Stop! Not one step further!” So it thunders out of the heights towards many of those who proudly style themselves with the word reader of the Grail Message. Your impure volition reaches out for further and further “spiritual nourishment”, and yet you have not taken into your inner being even the smallest foundation out of which everything else proceeds. Do you work as a lighthouse from which rays of Light go forth to rescue the little boats with men and to show them the direction to the shore? Do you ask the Most High every day for the gift of His Power that works wonders, and do you join yourselves to this way which the Message shows you and through which it leads you? Know that although you draw upon a multitude of various writings, the way which they show you is overgrown and untrodden! In these times it should already have been a highway for the whole Earth, multitudes should have walked upon it, and it should have been bringing a great measure of Power and of refreshment for the whole Earth and for the happening which runs its course upon it. Thus the scale-pan would have tipped to the right side, and you would not have had to live through that which you are now passing through and that through which you will yet have to pass!

Answer for yourselves, all you gatherers and readers of various writings, conjectures and novelties: what have you yourselves passed on out of thanks for this guidance and this knowledge? Do you think it enough merely to read, or perhaps to forward what you have read to others, without giving out some other equivalent value in return for the gift out of the heights? Is it enough to hang a photograph of a sword or of a cross on the internet and to write a few sentences to go with it? If you think that you are giving an equivalent value for so many gifts, then try to look upon it with the eye of one not involved. What is that value, and in what does it consist? When you have finished reading the texts, always put the question to yourselves inwardly whether you have understood the message, or the higher sense of what you read, and seek the way to forge your thanks for what was given into something you pass on.

Know that it is not enough merely to read the texts, but that if you read them rightly they will positively urge you towards some activity. The most important is precisely the inner one, which seeks the ways of connection to the heights, following the paths of those writers of the texts who walked these ways themselves.

These words are meant also for those of you who think that they are rousing others and leading them upon the right way to the heights, but who instead repeat the old mistakes and spit sulphur wherever their lines reach! So that the activity does not become merely mechanical outwardly, an inner joining and attunement is needed. Otherwise man remains like a little carriage torn loose from the higher will, dwelling upon the planet Earth.

Reflect, you many who read these lines, upon whether you are not squandering the time graciously granted you, and upon where you are directing your inner activity. Perhaps it is to be you who, out of thanks to the Creator and for so much grace as has come to you, will write the further continuations of the spiritual writings. Texts which will one day be able to help, or you may work through music, through singing, bringing a breath of new energy to your colleagues at work, or you will discover new forms of working which are not yet known until now. Have no fear of stepping over that seeming chalk line which you have drawn around yourselves. Know that if you step out in the right direction, the protecting hands of the helpers will watch over you and will guide every one of your steps, even though at first it will be an uncertain one.

You will not rely upon what you find in the old writings, but you will begin to create new writings and, hand in hand with that, also a new future for this Earth and for yourselves. You will become helpers in the fulfilling of those words as yet not understood: As in the heavens, so also on Earth.
