Men Need to Learn Cooperation With the Aglami

If men are to begin rightly fulfilling their task of the humanly spiritual kind on earth, they need among other things also to glow through more strongly now their cooperation with all the animistic servants, who from the very beginning shape for them the conditions for a whole life in the work of Creation
The reason for this is that, as inhabitants of this work of Creation, human spirits have, besides their further mission, to fulfil a living cooperation with the animistic servants
This belongs to the human spirit as a part of his maturity
This cannot be done otherwise than through an entirely new attitude of earthmen towards everything that unfolds in every moment of the day, for if this harmony with all the weaving of the animistic is to be fully recognised and experienced by man, then it holds good also for the gross material world here
Thus it was always expected from the Light, for herein lies for the human spirit one of the steps in the recognition of the great manifesting of the Will of God in the work of Creation
Alas, however, with mankind on earth this has never yet become anything lasting, nor has this cooperation ever come about to the degree in which it rightly should have been
The work of the animistic servants was indeed recognised by men, but only to a certain degree, and that once at the very beginning of the earthly development of mankind
Thereafter, however, with its narrowly material conception of the earthly world, this mankind only withdrew ever further from all that was connected with the activity of the animistic kind, which is important for man if he is to fulfil his task on earth completely
Through the development of the intellect men deviated ever more swiftly from this path of development ordained by the Light
Thus there never arose the cooperation which the human spirit needed for his right living here on earth
And as we can see just now all the more, he needs this cooperation with great urgency
Instead of an ever more fervent bond it has gradually gone so far on the part of men that we can now observe a complete estrangement, and that owing to the proud conceit that with their partial knowledge of small offshoots of the laws of nature and of the universe they know everything best
The opposite of all this, however, is a reality that cries out to heaven
As every new day proves again and again, men seek to force upon the wise and harmonious activity of the animistic servants their own limited notion of the further development of life on the planet earth
Thereby they seek to dominate by force not only the entire world of nature, but as a result they must in the end, in the Law of Reciprocal Action, destroy also themselves
With their supposed cleverness intellectual men have meanwhile recognised only the smallest part of all the manifestations of the Laws of Creation which take place around them, and with this narrow knowledge they seek to intervene ever more deeply in the womb of happenings, in which the earthly intellect will never be able to foresee the many destructive consequences arising from such an undertaking devoid of wisdom
Intellectual men always recognise their error only when the visible consequences of the mistakes in their doings have appeared
But that is often already too late for finding a remedy without long-lasting damage arising in the process
It is a lamentable conduct, called forth by the childish wilfulness of those who consider themselves learned, although they do not rightly grasp even the smallest happenings taking place every moment in their immediate vicinity
These men thereby only confirm that in reality they are an obstacle wherever they should first have been humble listeners, so as to mature and become allies creating together with the forces of the animistic servants, who with their wisdom proceed directly out of the Laws of Creation
There is no greater confirmation for all these faithful servants of Valhalla to stand in the highest vigilance towards that creature whom they were originally to help here on earth to his luminous works, which was to be achieved solely through a harmony fulfilled on both sides, formed between the animistic weaving on the one hand and the childlike pure attitude of the humanly spiritual race on the other
Instead of cooperation in works worthy of admiration, in ninety-nine cases out of a hundred there is with men an activity against all the intentions of the animistic
This is done for the greater part in ignorance, which only confirms the already mentioned narrowness of the ponderously material perception of men who have deviated from the development originally intended
It calls forth a piteous sight, for in it is mirrored the dreadful backwardness of the humanly spiritual life on earth
It must, however, also bring tension between the two forces mentioned
It is the tension between the working of the animistic forces, faithfully swinging in the eternal Laws of the work of Creation, and the deviated volition of the human spirit, violated by the intellect
It calls forth a pressure which must now of necessity discharge itself above mankind like the force gathered in a thundercloud
And this is already happening, for we may be witnesses of the first tremors arising out of the release of the animistic forces, which are being freed from the bondage of human volition by the nearness of the Ray of Parzival itself
Together with the Ray of Parzival, blessed by God, there now flows in parallel also a power from the halls of Valhalla, to help in the liberation of all the animistic, great and small, which works upon earth
Therefore we also now see so much groping stumbling on the part of earthly mankind towards everything that is to be found in the world of nature
Yet men, instead of the cooperation mentioned, stand permanently and wilfully in opposition to the animistic servants
On their limited level they no longer recognise anything of the animistic working, and therefore they have banished it to the world of fairy tales and legends
Yet they need this cooperation if there is to be any talk of the prospect of their further survival on this earth
This is because otherwise they remain without anchorage in the knowledge of the ground on which they need to stand firmly and surely, and which they therefore must know if they are to walk fully consciously upwards towards the spiritual home
If the animistic is not rightly understood in its faithful fulfilment of the Laws of Creation, then the spiritual finds itself on uncertain ground and never knows what may be expected
Such a thing, however, was never wanted of men
Everything is to be joined in transparent clarity as one whole perception of the perfect work of the Wisdom and Love of God, out of which is formed all that we call world, universe or Creation
It is therefore needful to begin to change something in this, if there is to be talk of an enlightened and knowing manner of man's living in the work of Creation
The time is here which calls for the rediscovery of the cooperation between the working of the animistic and the learning spiritual
The Aglami, the small animistic servants working in many places around every man, are recognisable to every one among men who seeks purely and openly the way to this cooperation
They are here so that all the small and greater things of everyday life may prosper for men
If therefore we speak of the animistic servants, then for the learning of cooperation with them it is precisely the Aglami who are the nearest representatives, truly attainable for every man
In a mobility of which earthman has no conception they vibrate with a certain friskiness everywhere that is appointed to them by their higher animistic leaders, so that they may fulfil their task
They are not in the least remote from today's world, as it might seem
On the contrary, they are very much at home in it and have not the slightest reason to see, for instance, in the technical conveniences devised by men any obstacle to their own working
This is because they see everything that is in the world of men as radiation, with which they can perform countless feats of skill, in so far as the Laws of Creation permit them
They move truly in every place, and with their working, which for men often intervenes inexorably, they often drive many intellectual men to despair, for their service goes against the ponderousness and coldness of the endeavours of materially minded men
That, however, is only because men are for the most part not able to perceive sufficiently their work, which always leads to some advance in the beneficial development of happenings
It has already been mentioned before that the Aglami also work closely in the world of animals which in some way are to be found around men
Today we can also add that the Aglami are in a certain way connected also with all the tools and machines which are regarded by men as the prerogative of their particular skill and craft
Earthly machines too, like everything material, are always connected with an archetype in the astral world
Owing to this archetype everything that men regard as their own work is also governed from a certain level by the Aglami appointed to it
There is much good in this, although men know nothing of it
Many machines which from the view of men work owing to their inventiveness and intellectual volition can in reality serve men only owing to the work of the Aglami
Owing to the Aglami an engine, whether the so-called combustion engine or the electric one, is able to convert an at first invisible force into motion, which can then bring much that is useful for the human world
If men occupied themselves more with the inspirations coming from the animistic, they would by now be so far in the knowledge of the streaming of forces governed by these servants that they could use technically purer machines, drawing their drive many times more efficiently from finer energies than is the case today
The Aglami would long since have shown the ways to the men called to it, for it is their work to create and also in a certain direction to educate human spirits
Often they do so through the dreams of men, or in flashes of caught inspiration, but also perhaps by means of seeming accidents of discovery brought about during the honest striving of a man taking part in new knowledge in one of the fields of human activity
It is an entirely different manner of education from the pictures which intellectual men connect with it, who behind this concept see above all the dogged study of books with thousands of theoretical propositions and endless calculations of formulae
In everything that men have hitherto recognised there lies a certain portion of the basic knowledge of the Laws of Creation working in matter, which at the beginning of mankind was shown to them in pictures always by the animistic servants alone
From another source the knowledge of the laws and forces working in matter could not have come
Even the most complicated technical creations of men today are nothing other than the assembling of already finished basic findings of physical laws which came to men from the animistic servants
Nor are any new discoveries of men today truly great, as they perhaps suppose, but it is only again and again a matter of connecting up that most basic knowledge which generations long past were already able to grasp
Nothing that would work an upheaval can come to intellectual men today at all
Any great discovery which would bring a great change could come only if there appeared here again someone with a purely open comprehension for the inspirations offered by these small animistic servants
But even these discoveries, truly great for mankind, are again only a partial drawing from the great treasury of the knowledge of the animistic in Creation, which, as far as the Laws of Creation are concerned, is for human recognition an unimaginably comprehensive source of knowledge
Therefore this knowledge is also entrusted by Valhalla to the small Aglami, for none of the High animistic servants is needed to explain to men the principle of the turning of a wheel, the effect of the ratio of forces upon a lever and still further findings which may perhaps be yet to come, and which are, or will be, given to men only in countless variations, so that they may use them for their life as technical conveniences recognised in an earthly way
The High animistic servants of Valhalla occupy themselves with entirely different kinds of activity, beside which the present human knowledge appears as nothing
Indeed men may reflect on how any higher knowledge continually escapes them
Therefore to this day they cannot grasp the small marvel which takes place, for instance, in the happening of the quickening of a cell, which is again entrusted to the animistic servants, the Alphar
For such a thing as the true quickening of matter the intellect of men does not suffice
For such a thing they would need something more, which is connected precisely with a deeper knowledge of the great service of the animistic kind
Therefore today's mankind needs to begin from the most basic, that is, to begin from cooperation with the smallest animistic servants
The ideal bridge to this cooperation are the tools and machines to be found all around, which stand in a certain connection with the small animistic servants
However much technical things may hitherto have seemed to men entirely remote from God's work of Creation, yet all this in a certain way belongs as a part of the whole, and therefore we find the animistic also in technology
Yes, behind all this stand the small Aglami, and they work so closely around men that it is almost impossible for anyone among men not to meet them many times in the course of a day
Many men have also already been permitted to divine this, and therefore they perceive that there is something here which from time to time breathes a certain soul even into seemingly cold and outwardly lifeless machines
It is precisely then, when men in childlike simplicity take this or that machine as their close helper, with which they converse and for which they care with greater kindliness than they show towards other tools or machines
Many an artist cherishes his musical instrument in the dim intuitive sensing that it has its own peculiar individuality, that it has its soul, as the saying goes
The honest workman values his machine, which helps him to his earnings
He cares for its condition so that the machine may work as well as possible, and not seldom he pats it warmly when he senses that he had to demand of the machine a high performance which was at the limit of its technical possibilities, and that the machine nevertheless endured and mastered it all
Artists guard and cherish their small tools, with which they create either sculptures and paintings or build masterly edifices
Much else could still be enumerated, and yet it would always be the same
There are many men who even give names to the tools and machines they use at their work
Without a single hesitation many also regard them as their special close companions here on earth
That is no sign of naivety or childishness in individuals, but it is precisely these men who prove that they can perhaps divine something which lies behind the seemingly cold matter, something that makes of it more than that
The outwardly manifesting gross material world, which for many other men is lifeless, these men see with their eyes quite otherwise
With their perceiving they intuitively sense the world around them as one single living whole, in which everything bears within it something that enables it to live in a certain sense of its own radiation
All these men recognise that behind the matter with which they may create and work there lies a force of real life of a kind unknown to them, which in certain moments may speak to them with a strangely quickened voice out of an intangible plane lying outside gross matter itself
These are receptive men who recognise that through some thing, tool or machine they may be connected with a living force of another kind than the world here
Value such men, for they are nearer to the animistic world than all those who consider themselves clairvoyant, while as a rule they describe over and over only a very few pictures strangely torn out of the great connections of the pulsing life of the animistic servants
Men who bear within them a childlike pure perception of the existing and working world of the Aglami, however little else they recognise of the work of Creation beyond this small part, are better off than the connoisseurs of spiritual science, so often permeated with vain pride, who expound about angels that allegedly accompany them everywhere and help them with everything in life, until it moves the serious observer to a smile
Blessed are the men who carry within them a portion of childlikeness
These men may divine the nearness of the Aglami, who work in all this and labour for man through the bridge of the radiation of the astral archetype
The Aglami who are appointed to this activity are true masters of all the lawful happenings that take place in all the mechanisms of matter
They govern tools, machines and technology, and make it in a certain sense living, if men are able to value it as God's gift
The essence of the connection between the human spirit and the animistic weaving lies in man's raising all that is around him to the result of God's grace-filled and inexhaustible help
Through this attunement man in the end raises even that which otherwise might perhaps be called a dead work of the intellect into a quickened work, which then labours otherwise than when it was regarded as dead
This difference was known also to the alchemists and to the men who in earlier times searched for the supra-earthly forces of the universe
In the right direction they pondered on all that came in the form of animistic force into matter, and that allowed the participation of man to join in the common attaining of a result which then appeared in the form of a densification of otherwise invisible forces from the divine source
These forces they called Agla
Their intuitive sensing was not wrong
Had they continued further, then sooner or later they would have found in all mechanical movements the working of a present quickening kind, until at last they must have discovered the origin, which rests in the animistic kind that is in everything which moves matter
The men who in earlier times searched for the original invisible force were nearer to great discoveries than today's advanced science, which regards everything outside human activity as lifeless
How very much all these opinions of men appear to the Aglami as laughably ignorant prattle wrapped in scientific equations and endless calculations
The Aglami appointed for working with matter around men are far greater masters of all mechanisms than men
They also have at hand much else that will come to earth when men will finally want to listen to their counsel
Here, however, the attentive reader will surely ask how it stands with the Aglami in the case of tools and machines which do not serve only good and useful ends
He will surely ask how it stands in the case of weapons which kill fellow men, how it stands with the engines that drive heavy war machines destined from the outset to destroy and to cause harm to other men on earth
The answer, however, is simple
Hitherto the volition of men has been left to them as decisive for what this or that machine serves, for what it is to bring onto the stage of this world
In this the Aglami had to remain a strictly neutral force, subject to the threads of the Alphar, who are the leading weavers in these higher matters around men
The free volition of men has hitherto, by God's original command, been left to manifest itself fully, so that individuals and mankind as a whole might show how they stand in their discernment of the values of the Light from all that is turned away from the Light
In this lies that important maturing of men here on earth, if they themselves decide, in their quickened intuitive perceiving, for beneficent action in preference to evil action
Out of this the Vaenen also always weave at once new threads blessed by the Light, out of which throughout the whole history of mankind the fate of every man striving for a better world has hitherto been formed
This happens also still today, moreover with the strengthened effect of the Laws of Creation, through which streams the Light now brought to the earth by the Ray of Parzival
Free volition is for man, in his spiritual origin, a sovereign right, from which, however, there follows at the same time the responsibility to deal rightly with this right
And so it is precisely the finger of the human hand that presses the trigger of the weapon, and the human eye that follows the target to which the deadly force hidden in the small piece of matter of the cartridge is to be sent
The voice of conscience of the human inner being is always to manifest itself as showing the right way in the decisions of every moment of existence
Were this so, then that same portion of force sunk into matter could in the right human hands bring, on the contrary, ascent, help and progress, if the heart of man sought in God's gifts always only a reason for use in accord with the Will of God
The Aglami would then be a thousandfold more filled with luminous radiance, and would seek with all their strength ways to bring to men thinking and acting thus a new knowledge of the use of their abilities
Owing to these small animistic servants the world could quickly be on the way to ascent
This holds good not only for world happenings and development, but also for every house in which men live, for it is precisely in the homes of men that many small Aglami have their field of activity
Where the volition for good flames within the inner being of men, there the help of the small Aglami can now manifest itself more strongly
That is the change which is now coming together with the approaching Ray of Parzival
Where the courage to walk towards the Light lives in the human spirit, there the Aglami can now join in more fully with all their skills and knowledge, which they will thus place at the disposal of men striving on the path to the Light
Therefore every house which now wishes to serve the Creator may be marked with the sign of the equal-armed cross within the circle, together with the present new year, as a token of such striving
It is not a sign for the Aglami, for they may see well what goes on within men, but it is a sign testifying to other men that the house and its inhabitants know of God and of His servants in the work of Creation and long already to cooperate with them fully in the building of a new life on earth
Nor is it to be connected with the marking of the Three Kings, as men are accustomed to do at this time in inert repetition
It is a new marking of the entrance of a house whose inhabitants wish also in the new year to strive purely and faithfully towards the Light along the ways ordained by God
And to walk along the ways ordained by God means today, among other things, to live and work in cooperation with the animistic servants wherever this is offered to earthmen
In this lies that new thing about which even knowing men keep asking how they are to picture it in their expectation
Yet they have everything directly before their eyes, and the only thing they need is the fervent intuitive sensing of how man is to manifest the volition of his striving towards the Light
Everything is to be glowed through to the level of a pure humanity which values all that is granted to it, be it one's own earthly body, home, nature or the universe
And also the possibility of cooperating and creating in accord with the forces which permeate the whole space of the work of Creation
In this cooperation it is precisely the small Aglami who are nearest to man, being permanently close at hand
They accompany him the whole day long, without his being aware of it in the dullness that is his hitherto
Here, then, he may also begin
He may begin by rejoicing and delighting in the possibility of his existence in Creation, whether he takes any tool into his hand, or does so in order to create something to the joy of other men and of himself, or when using mechanical machines and technology
This beginning is truly easy, for it suffices for man only to will, and this volition he is to maintain within himself under all the circumstances of the day
He is to keep constantly before his eyes his high and worthy goal of humanly spiritual participation in Creation
Thereby he will also be best prepared for all that is coming, without having to do anything extraordinary or special for it beyond the right setting of his volition towards the all-embracing good
In a great vibration that NEW thing rushes towards the earth which will bring ENLIGHTENMENT to all those who carry within their inner being the soil for the anchoring of the Light
A part of this enlightenment is precisely also the knowledge of the small servants, the Aglami, who are everywhere around men and can bring them help and strengthening in much
Only listen closely, that snapping and cracking in the furniture, the ticking of the old clock hanging on the wall, the humming and purring of the engine of the car that carries a man to his work or on an outing, all this now tells with a new sound that the time of great changes is near the earth
It is new in this, that if men pursue in it only pure and noble goals in the spirit of the Beatitudes of Jesus, then the Aglami, just as all the other animistic servants, will stand near them in order to help them on their way
And only men who bear within them enough of a childlike pure perception may catch it, so that it brings them a knowledge of which they perhaps knew nothing at all, or which they divined but could not explain to themselves, or which they even suppressed within themselves so as not to appear before other men as oddities
But now the time is here to begin to speak of all this and also to live it with the most vivid affirmation of joyful existence in the work of Creation
For such men the Light now holds a blessing in store, that they may become welcome guests if they enter upon the path of spiritual awakening to the recognition of the Laws of Creation and to the listening to all the animistic servants, who are the executors appointed by the King of Creation Parzival for the completion of the great changes upon earth
