The material planes which lie in Subsequent Creation are called hermetis in Valhalla
From all time the knowledge of hermetis lay immersed in the materialities for the human spirits
It was veiled, however, by a veil which did not allow earthly men to penetrate further than to the very edge of this part of the grossest materiality
In reality the veiling holds good as the condition of a certain degree of spiritual maturity, whose attainment alone makes possible the advance of earthly men higher towards a further knowledge of all the happenings in the materialities
The degree of knowledge is conditioned by the mobility of the spirit, who in his living will longs unceasingly for the Truth
If the needful degree is attained through the mobility of the spirit, then the knowledge of the whole work of Subsequent Creation opens a little to him, so as to offer the rest of mankind a further prospect of connections not yet recognised
Surrounded by the light of knowledge, the spirit feels himself in that hour drawn upwards to the heights, and in a state of translucent perceiving of everything around him he is joyfully impelled by his awakening inner being to repeated outbursts of jubilant praise of the Creator
He is surrounded by an uplifting degree of enlightenment which permeates him and makes everything around him in that hour clear and, in a sudden evidence, easily graspable for him
But scarcely is one degree attained when a further degree of higher knowledge already calls again to the spirit, so as to bring him a still higher outlook which hitherto had to remain hidden, for this degree too made its own unveiling conditional upon a still livelier movement of the spirit, and thereby also upon his purity and luminosity
In Creation nothing is given without a counterweight, which in the case of the human spirit lies in his own effort
It is not, however, granted purposelessly and at once at man's first call in a vibration of longing for knowledge
Only a genuine will, which lies in the living, independent mobility that opens new prospects of knowledge to the spirit, counts as the key to the discovering of new prospects
Thus it goes ever higher, and for every human spirit the complete knowledge of all that is needful for his fulfilling can in the end be accessible, if, however, he unfolds in his inner being, that is, if in a genuine endeavour towards a pure spiritual existence he himself strives upwards
Therefore we may say that all the degrees of knowledge stand ready for mankind in the nearness of the Earth, yet men themselves cause their inaccessibility by that hardened closedness with which they cling to the low, and often wholly lamentable, knowledge of their spirit concerning the Creator and His work of Creation
The matter here is not one of earthly education of the scientific kind, but of an inner ennoblement and thereby of the making possible of an inner openness towards the existence of all spiritual and animistic working in Subsequent Creation
This, however, is in most places entirely lacking in today's mankind, otherwise so very finely honed in the intellect in the most varied scientific disciplines
The earthly science of the present time has become the topmost stump of the intellectual tree of knowledge
This tree of intellectual knowledge does not reach, nor will it ever in the future reach, higher than to the upper boundary of the densest gross material part in Subsequent Creation
The stump of earthly science is crippled by the limitation inherent in its kind and permits no further growth upwards, that is, higher than the boundaries of gross matter
Thereby, however, the earthly man who acknowledges only science permanently cuts himself off from a connection which could offer him many times more than all the present knowledge of the earthly scientific fields put together
Earthly science is in reality no knowledge at all, if we look upon it from the point of view of the most important connections and happenings, that is, from the point of view bound primarily to the spiritual preciousness of the inner being of man
From this point of view all the intellectual knowledge gained by mankind is only a limited acquaintance with gross matter on the basis of a procedure in which this matter is broken down into smaller parts and then put together again, without any higher knowledge of the starting-point out of which everything comes springing forth from it for the intellect
The philosophers' stone for intellectual research, which approaches knowledge only through its material receptivity, will remain merely lifeless, icily cold and thus barren in its content of knowledge, while the true life will work permanently above it in its splendour and complete perfection
Where research does not approach the examining of all the happenings in matter also with the open inner being of man, wrapped in humility, which calls purely for the knowledge of the work of Creation, there all endeavour strikes upon a boundary which swiftly halts it below
Therefore the intellect may be called a sprouted stump which, however, has in the spiritual and animistic world no support for its further growth
The intellect developed only out of the will of man's material volition for a successfully lived life here on Earth
To this it was also directed with a certain deceit by Lucifer, after this bearer of light had failed in his original mission by turning aside from the way appointed by God and, through the applying of his false principle of the temptation of all that is weaker, had plunged into the depths of the darkness
He strengthened the intellect in man above the spirit and thereby cut the spirit off from all the connections which are vitally needful for him for his further development and for the completing of his path, so that he might one day return to his true home in the spiritual
The intellect, cultivated at the instigation of Lucifer, thus cut the spirit off from the otherwise simple and free connection with everything higher that lies above gross materiality
The spirit therefore in the end submitted to the intellect and sends all his power only to this instrument, which in the predominance it has gained burrows in its material research only within the narrowly limited boundaries of the earthly world
This, however, is lamentably little as against the possibilities of the true knowledge which is bound up with man's joining to the animistic and spiritual knowledge of life
The skill of shaping things in matter is nothing other than merely a secondary expression of the abilities of the human spirit
In the sweat of his brow and in the blood of sacrifices man wins something that is of no benefit to Creation, because it remains in materiality and cannot raise itself higher
Only there, where in the work of man there is at the same time also a reflection of pure forming with an awareness of the higher meaning of man's existence, and where the Creator is glorified by such works, can there be any speaking of the usefulness of work in the materialities
From the standpoint of spiritual development it is therefore quite secondary whether men on Earth travel by car, by aeroplane, on horseback or on foot, or whether perhaps in the future they will travel quite otherwise, for instance with the help of new findings about the currents of the air, which will come in their turn only when the knowledge of mankind is joined with the great possibilities of the sylphs of the air
Whatever the kind of travelling may be, it is nevertheless always only a means which acquires its sense only subsequently, beyond that first experiencing of noble intuitive perceiving in the inner being of man
Such a thing as the technical means in material life is in reality only something secondary, however often it is an alluring prospect, for it bears within it a certain comfort of existence for this short part of the earthly path here
It is, however, nothing in comparison with the true knowledge which is to become the possession of the spirit in his conscious participation in the happenings of the whole work of Creation
This true knowledge is very needful above all for the journey through Subsequent Creation, because the most important part of this knowledge is men's awareness of the existence of Valhalla and of all its servants as the starting-points of the powers which formed the space for the existence of the human sparks upon their path of development through Subsequent Creation
Only out of this knowledge can the ground be formed in man for the true knowing thanks which may soar up out of the inner being to the Creator
All the exercise of power which is directed by men towards a single aim, that is, towards the improving of the conditions of life without regard to the spiritual goal and also without any endeavour towards co-operation with the other parts of the work of Creation, may be called the way of the earthly ruin of mankind
This also shows itself visibly and palpably in many places on Earth
Out of this endeavour no blessing will ever arise, because it lacks the very fire of the inner being of the human spirit, that is, the spiritual fire which alone adds to all human striving the reach of the higher meaning of development and thereby the power to perfect
The acquirements of the intellect are therefore not only secondary, but they are even a hindrance to many a spirit in joining himself with the true knowledge of the upbuilding of the work of Creation
With his overcultivated intellect man will not advance so much as a single step higher above gross matter
Even there where the intellect is used as the sole instrument for the recognising of the connections concerning the Creator and His work of Creation, everything is wrongly built up from the very foundation
A spiritless recognising of the Creator is a vain endeavour to gain a connection with anything higher
To such a thing not a single gate in Creation can nor ever will be opened to the lofty knowledge of the happenings which built up everything in Subsequent Creation long before the coming of man, and which even today still govern the worlds of the materialities
As it was in the ancient times, so it is today also
Set aside must all the spiritless, and thereby intuition-empty and superficial volition of men remain standing
Over this there watches, as an inflexible guardian, the eternal Law of movement, which in the case of man concerns in the first place the movement of his spiritual inner being
Although this Law of movement hovers above everything that bears within it the condition of the living mobility of the human spiritual kind, and thereby in the severity of its effect necessarily sets only a limited prospect for all the thinking of superficial men, it holds good at the same time that the liveliness working in this Law makes it possible for man in every further moment, by his own awakened living will, to awaken like one who has hitherto slept and to set out upon the way which will lead him to a drawing near to the great knowledge of all the lawful happening in the work of Creation
Everything is living, and from the point of view of the Laws it also works only as a support towards the ascent of the spiritual development in man
Nor is there anything in Subsequent Creation that is to remain forever a veiled secret from the human spirit who strives livingly upwards to the Light
Everything in this part of the great work of Creation the human spirit may come to know, so as to find in it again and again only the confirmation of the effectiveness of the All-Wisdom of God, which works and forms therein through the hosts of its servants
The starting-point for this is the place lying at the summit of Subsequent Creation, where Valhalla is situated
For the whole of Subsequent Creation, Valhalla is the living springhead of the needful powers granted for the upbuilding and the maintaining of all the planes and worlds in the materialities
In order that men may rightly come to know the Creator of the work of Creation Himself, the Holy God, they need here in Subsequent Creation, which was formed as an annexe for the development of human spirits, at the same time also rightly to come to know all that was done for them by Valhalla, which gave to Subsequent Creation the space and the historical unfolding of all the springs of life that flow here
In reality men cannot leap over this degree of knowledge, for otherwise the Creator Himself becomes wrongly understood by them
Many men who think kindly of God make, for all their endeavour, only a caricature of His greatness when they suppose that God as the Creator Himself formed the stars, the mountains and the waters, and Himself also brought plants and animals to life in the formed world of matter, and at last kneaded the body of man in order then to breathe into him a life bearing the promise of a spark of eternal existence
For all the genuine endeavours of many men, this notion of God devalues Him and must also, in the eyes of those who recognise the scientific connections, be a cause for smiles and for rejection
Others then say that it was the angels who did it, without, however, having the slightest inkling why in all of this there no longer prevails today any clarity and plainness of knowledge
It is because those who pride themselves on the titles of those who know God themselves know nothing of it in their answers, for it could not be shown to their intellect
Proceeding from the fact that it is denied to them themselves through their intellect and the inner immobility of their spirit, and concluding that it must be so for everyone, they therefore proclaim that it is an eternal secret of God and that no one among men should wish to know anything about it
All those, too, who through the millennia were more open in this they persecuted and still persecute as strays and as opponents of obedience towards God and towards His secrets in the work of Creation
These notions, engraved so deeply into the world of thought, are a hindrance to the spirit and must remove him from all that is pure and clear, which is needful for the true recognising of God
We may say that most of the hitherto recognising of God on Earth only removes the human spirit from the very true knowledge of God
It digs between man and God an abyss which does not allow a pure, loving drawing near of man, as a creature, to his Creator
God, however, permanently grants the human spirit a path of knowledge, so that He may be rightly viewed by the human spirit and thereby also rightly perceived and received
Here, after all, the matter is not one of God Himself in His eternally Life-bestowing unsubstantiate nature, but of the human spirit, who without a right knowledge and understanding becomes for a long time one who strays in the planes of Subsequent Creation
The straying then leads only to further wrongs, and thereby such a spirit removes himself ever further from the Light until he comes to the complete extinguishing of his liveliness and thereby to his ruin
Although on Earth today there still prevails a lukewarmness and an incomprehensible sloth of the spirit, this veil is already drawn back a little, and for all those who with earnest genuineness seek to penetrate into the secrets of matter in the planes of Subsequent Creation they yield up their treasures in part
These inwardly living spirits have often penetrated by their endeavours much further in their knowledge than all those who designate themselves servants of God
Many of these spirits endowed with a higher knowledge were designated by the churches as heathens, mystics, occultists, as sorcerous healers, as alchemists, and all of them together thus bore the seal of being servants of the darkness, however much in their
striving there was often mirrored a knowledge bearing witness to a sensing of animistic and spiritual helps, which not seldom brought many men a great blessing in healing
This knowledge was at the same time also a cause of contradictoriness in their perceiving of the Creator, who was described by the churches otherwise than they sensed Him in their inner visions
Treasures they may also be called because the stewardship of this knowledge is conditioned upon the highest wisdom and responsibility of those who are permitted to see further than is the case with the unknowing majority
The human spirit needs in this respect to become truly mature and pure, so that the knowledge which contains within it the answers to many a burning question may be uncovered for him on the part of Valhalla
To these questions belong, for instance, the ability to co-operate in full consciousness with the animistic servants in the elements, to possess lasting health and thereby to lengthen the span of human life, to use the powers inherent in the particles lying above gross materiality itself, to master matter in its hitherto unrecognised capacities for penetrating its coverings, also to understand the animals, the plants, the voices of the stars, and much else besides which through the millennia attracted all those human spirits sojourning on Earth who are inclined in this direction
All these questions hover permanently above the human generations as an ancient promise of attainability, yet it has never yet happened that anything of it was granted to men permanently and on a great scale for their use
It always remained legends, over which there hovers that alluring sigh: “Oh, only once … long, long ago men knew all this, they knew how to use it and so accomplished great things…”
Because the said drawing back of all the knowledge of the animistic is conditioned precisely upon an inner fullness of trust, that is, upon a childlike openness and a guileless purity of man, but also upon maturity and wisdom, nothing of it could hitherto be given to mankind since the times of Atlantis, because the way of the intellect upon which men set out under the guidance of the bearer of light removed itself solely and only ever further from these conditions
But this time draws near to its decisive transformation of the whole direction of men
The longing for the Truth will in a short time become the most important thing in human life
At first it will be a feeling out of the truthfulness of the happenings in the present time
But that will be only for a short while, for soon, under the pressure of the Light, there will awaken in many men an unquenchable longing for the knowledge of the one whole Truth, which can come to the Earth only out of the heights of the Divine
Men will seek the Truth from God
They will wish to know the Truth and will demand it of all those who now profess the Truth, which lives in the Message brought by Parzival, the King of Creation, out of the heights of the primordially eternal castle of the Grail
Men will demand that the knowledge of all the happening in Creation be made knowable to them, for their inner being will be kindled to such a degree of glowing heat that it will no longer be possible to quieten it with something superficial and cheap, as was the case on Earth hitherto
Despite all the follies still visible today which accompany this seeking in matters seemingly important yet for the human spirit entirely secondary and worthless, in everything that is now happening on Earth there lies the pressure of the Light, which drives many men to an unquenchable state of their inner being in the seeking of the Truth
The path of every single still living human spirit is in this quite unique, and he must pass through all the windings of his hitherto errors, so that at the end there may arise in him the unquenchable seeking of the one all-clarifying Truth which comes from God
Do not therefore judge the windings upon a path which unfold from the measure of false opinions that such a spirit often bears within him by the dozen or the hundred, but look in the first place at the degree of genuineness and sincerity vibrating in his seeking
Those who seek are not to be judged in their awakening, for in them that living expression of the flaring up of the spark of the spirit is only now taking place
And in this such men are to be approached like a flower which has hitherto slept and which comes up after a long sleep in cold soil
Just as man rejoices over the sprouting leaves appearing out of the shoot above the soil and tends them with kindliness and tender care, so is the awakening flame of the spirit to be dealt with, which after all bears within it a value many times higher than is the case with a plant of the animistic kind
Where else is the fervent intuitive perception of pure loving-kindness to be shown than there where the matter concerns the spiritual, which bears within it the promise of eternal existence in Creation
Therefore it is needful to awaken within oneself the highest degree of pure warm-heartedness everywhere that we can behold the awakening of a human spirit to a new life
The guide for this is the recognising of the genuineness of such an awakening
Genuineness in the seeking of answers to earnest questions is also the most important thing in which men differ today and according to which they are sorted by the Ray of Parzival in the ongoing time of the Judgment
The Light sorts and judges the living from the lifeless
Do not therefore judge those who still grope in knowledge and are only now seeking the value of all the revelations, for their path is only now becoming clear and leads them to experiences which are to move them further in the strengthening of their will to find the Truth of God
If you learn this, you will find in your life a new kind of receptivity which belongs to the genuine degree of true spiritual service in Creation
This will become something which will again open a new receptivity for the further knowledge of the great happenings in the work of Creation
This climbing upwards is without end for the human spirit, for in it he can be gifted again and again with a new experiencing of happenings which until then remained remote from him because he did not open himself to them
And precisely in this lies also the knowledge of new prospects which is lacking on Earth today, and thereby much human striving for the attaining of a full state of harmony still cannot be fulfilled
This happening can come only in a full joining with the animistic weaving
The animistic weaving bends down into the materialities out of Valhalla and is always at hand for everyone who only longs to join himself more with the knowledge which pulses through all the animistic life in the worlds of the materialities of Subsequent Creation
From time to time the messengers out of Valhalla, whose first exemplar in this is Phermos, thus bend down in order to convey to inwardly open men a partial knowledge such as corresponds to their openness and to the maturity of their inner being
Thus also were the words of the Emerald Tablet hewn out once long ago, which by its content is for many men on Earth still the holder of the secret of Creation, of the universe and of life
But because the Way of the Grail, in connection with the high spiritual currents of the Grail, breaks through and widens by means of the Ray of Parzival new paths of knowledge for the human spirit, it is precisely here that that secret of the Emerald Tablet is unveiled and is given in successive parts of knowledge which will be for a newly awakened mankind the foundation of all blessing in the peace-filled and creative time that will shortly come about on Earth
For those who read rightly the pictorial descriptions of the prospect of the basic working of the powers of the animistic weaving in the parts of the worlds of Subsequent Creation, the content of the Emerald Tablet is no longer a secret
They can know, and already do know, more than this tablet conceals, which for millennia has been so greatly wrapped about with many secrets
They know more if only they wish to know and if with the inner liveliness of their spiritual spark they immerse themselves again and again in the knowledge which the animistic, working everywhere around them in every particle of matter, offers them
In every drop of water, in every current of air, in every particle of rock, in every leaf, blossom and fruit, in every movement of a living creature there is contained all that testifies to the great forming of Valhalla at the command of the primordially created Mercury
In everything there is contained the Spirit of God, which is that primordially eternal moving power in its unbounded creative force
Through everything there pulses as the foundation that first and at the same time forever enduring “Let there be Light”, when God the Father let Imanuel step forth out of His unsubstantiate nature, so that Creation might arise outside all the Divine
There is therefore nothing which does not have a share of the Spirit of God, for in every particle, even the smallest, there is contained a part of the forming Word of God
Creation is a thought of the Loving-Kindness of God, which is inexhaustible and which is living and forming into the immeasurable distances of the planes that range one behind another according to the degrees of their remoteness and thereby of their cooling
And in the far distances beneath the outermost plane of Primordial Creation, in the flash of the fulfilment of the command of the continuing upbuilding, Valhalla arose in the birth of its power and its splendour
The streams of Light spurting forth out of it received a new form and in the hands of the Servants of Valhalla became the foundation for the forming of further worlds, which in their density circle and renew themselves within hermetis
How little is as yet recognised in this of the formers Hermetes and Hathmes, who in the prolongation of all the powers out of Primordial Creation formed the foundation for the mirroring of the forms which could be born in the materialities, bearing within them a reflection of life as living scenery for the possibility of the development of the human spirit sparks in Subsequent Creation
If men do not move further in this, they will remain upon the path which leads to ruin, for from it there is now separated that blessed, loving patience which hitherto was permitted to come to groping and straying men by means of the all-wisdom of God in the knowledge of the weakness of human souls
Now, however, it is to move on, and it will also come as a decisive, breaking happening, so that everyone may recognise it as that time when all that is old must be laid aside and replaced by something new, filled with the flame of spiritual life
“As above, so also below” will now be fulfilled in the demand for a heightened movement of all the happenings
As in heaven, so also on Earth
Do not men, after all, wish for such a thing
Has it not been called for through millennia already in the hope of the improvement of all life on Earth
And it is coming, at last even into the very world of the ponderous materiality of the universe
The mirroring of the spiritual life will come about here on Earth also
It will be a movement which will compel everything to become new and reborn, so that all that wishes to stand firm may join itself with the inflowing of power out of the Ray of Parzival
This movement also brings a new knowledge which washes away all the deposits upon the sediments of the intellect, which had fastened themselves upon the ancient flashes of prospects upwards towards the heights of the work of Creation
Thus also the Emerald Tablet is now freed from the deposits and the distortions
Hermetes and Hathmes are in human thinking freed from the distortions and the deliberate deceptions on the part of the intellectual interpreters
They now stand in radiance, as once at the beginning of all the forming of the universes, and the Emerald Tablet, gleaming and shining in the new Light, can speak to all those who earnestly seek answers to the questions of how the universe arose and from where the life force was poured into it
The words of this lecture give within them the exposition of the content of the Emerald Tablet
Let these words therefore be received by the spirit and let them be worked with livingly in the movement of a receptive intuitive perception
Only thus will pictures be able to arise for the reader of the great parts of the worlds which stand above this universe here, which is called hermetis by Valhalla
Oh, how little knowledge there is here on Earth, what poverty prevails in it, and how very proud the earthly intellect is of its nothingness, which it calls science
All this will now change, and there will come a time which will open the inner beings of men with the key of true knowledge, in which men will find bliss and peace
For all this the time has now ripened in hermetis
Now it will come, and it will change everything that has endured hitherto upon this Earth
