In order that we may rightly grasp the meaning and the great significance of the star of Apollo – the sun, we need first to attempt to ascend to the places of Valhalla and at the same time to move back, through the whole development of the Subsequent Creation hitherto, to its very beginning

We need to move far back against all the forms of the development of the materialities, to the time when there was here as yet no building up of the Subsequent Creation and when out of the first sinking of the primordially spiritual kernels the beginning of the forming of the building particles of the materialities was only being prepared

At the very beginning there was here nothing but lightlessness and lifelessness

This man cannot really even picture to himself, for this lifelessness is at the same time spacelessness, whose nature is for man almost ungraspable, since through his spiritual origin he is always bound to space and time, which he experiences in the homeland of the bright planes of the spiritual spheres, or in another form of space and time such as he meets in various shapes from the finest planes of the ethereal down to the densest universes of the gross materialities

Thus it may be said that without the radiating out of the Light of God there is always only nothingness, which has no form, no space and no time

Nothingness is non-existence, it is itself the expression of nothing, and therefore it is not even that space in which perhaps nothing but darkness should be, for in nothingness there is no space and no time, nor anything else

Outside of God and His radiating there is nothing that could form space and in it the forms subsequently being born

Moreover, even darkness is a certain form which needs space that it might fill, so as to be perceptible in it

Thus at the very beginning of the arising of the Subsequent Creation there was here only the boundary of the radiation of the Primordial Creation, which, put simply, was formed by the nebulae of the unconscious spiritual, in which everything remaining of the spiritual was precipitated, all that no longer has will enough for its becoming conscious and thereby also no power to manifest forms and shapes of its own

Therefore we can speak here only of nebulae and precipitates which were lit by the Light and the life coming from above

They were irradiated by the rest of the life in Creation, and thereby there was furthered in them an urgent volition for a conscious life

This lasting state was also precisely the reason why among the primordially created in the Primordial Creation there arose after a time the wish and the plea to the Creator to make possible also for this very last kind of the spiritual its own development to the consciousness of itself in Creation

In this treatise of ours, however, we shall not follow the path of the spiritual sparks, nor all that in their development preceded the possibility of the sinking of the first unconscious little sparks of the spirit into the part of the Subsequent Creation

The aim of today's text is to bring nearer to us all that lies in the glorious working of the servant Apollo

To this belongs in part also the description of the beginning of the materialities

Thus then, after the development made possible by God, the radiation of the primordially created coming from above descended and through its power prepared beneath the nebulae of the unconscious spiritual a new kind of nebula containing the radiating of the building up for the development of the human spiritual

This radiation condensed and gained in power as there flowed into it the creatively strong spiritual volition of the primordially created inhabitants of Creation

The radiation and the forming of the nebula of the animistic circle set in movement at a certain time the animistic protective layer which, as the very last part of the radiation of the Light, surrounds the whole work of Creation

This layer may be pictured as a kind of deep blue-green radiance which at its outermost end passes finally into a dark green resembling almost a black shade

The protective layers of this radiation surround the work of Creation and are the last thrusting of space into spacelessness

The animistic protective radiation spreads into unimaginable distances and is filled at its end by great animistic servants of a special kind who hold pressed together immense shields forming the actual final and sharp boundary between space and nothingness

They hold the last boundary of radiation between life and lifelessness

The human spirit cannot rightly picture what forces are present here to hold the space of life in its duration, for a yielding of these shields would mean the collapse of space and thereby the perishing of whole spheres of the work of Creation as far as the places where this protective radiation would settle again as the animistic shields closed together

This part of the radiation of the work of Creation is immeasurably important, therefore the radiation issuing from the Grail must reach lastingly as far as this for its quickening and thereby also for its upholding in the protective ordering for the whole space of the Light radiated out by the Creator

And precisely through the influx of the creating thoughts of the primordially created, as these gathered in the newly forming layer beneath the spiritually unconscious nebulae, the said radiation of the protective animistic belt preserving life in Creation was moved an immense stretch further

Thereby there formed a space which, observed from above, always appears as the gleaming surface of an endless nocturnal ocean in which the shimmering gleam of the bright planes of Creation is mirrored, similar to the way the starry heaven is mirrored in a dark surface of water

At the call of Mercury there descended from the heights of the halls of the Grail the ray of his mighty volition, to anchor the place for the working of his servants, who arose out of his radiation and out of the radiation of the other animistic primordially created servants and became the upholders of all the arising forms of life in the newly arisen annexe of the work of Creation

In the radiation of the Ray of Mercury, with the blessing of Holy God, Valhalla arose

In it there arose gradually, out of the radiation splitting off, the single servants, over whom O-dio-nar began to rule, he who arose first through the anchoring of the ray of Mercury in the place of Valhalla

Swiftly there began to form around this place buildings and gardens of the animistic kind needed for the future building up of the materialities of the Subsequent Creation

The animistic servants surrounding Valhalla began at once, in their kinds of activity, to work upon the plan which came to them out of the gathered thoughts of the primordially created

The radiation of these servants helped to form further and further degrees of the animistic circle beneath Valhalla, until there took shape the unsurveyable degrees of the blessed lands of Asgard

The work of the animistic servants began to weave also the first fine volition beneath these gardens, out of which there formed a new radiation beneath Valhalla which became receptive for the further sinking building particles and also spiritual kernels

In the as yet unirradiated icy space the fine animistic currents at once precipitated into dust-like animistic particles which, surrounded by the volition for the building up, subsequently drew out into far dark spaces

Here it is needful to remark that for the right grasping of what is described everything must be pictured as a living, unbroken happening which has no pauses, but takes place in a flowing sequence as a naturally unfolding succession of events which, like a running film, has already from its beginning a clear intention towards which it moves in its gradual development

Just so it is with all the developmental happening in nature upon the earth, where every step of development links to the foundations already developed and prepared beforehand

Everything thereby takes place in one uniform flowing under the working of the ever-present circling animistic forces

Just as the prepared animistic particles were drawing out like frozen dust-nebulae, in precisely that moment there began to sink into this current also particles of the spiritual kind which had before been joined into the said nebulae radiated out by the creating volition of the primordially created

At a certain boundary these two currents met, and at once there came about a happening arising out of their heterogeneous natures, in which the spiritual through its warmth worked with attracting power upon the animistic

The animistic dust particles, attracted in circling vibration, at once surrounded the stronger and more glowing kernels of the spiritual kind and pressed them together with their enclosing power

This happened several times in succession, because through the enclosing there always came about a densification of the envelope of the kernel and thereby an increase of weight

Thus whole immense currents of the particles that had arisen became the building starting points for the single planes of the ethereal worlds

At the same time a part of the said currents always sank further downward, as the foremost front always became heavier in the enveloping animistic covering

The animistic always went a step ahead of the spiritual in the building up of space

Thus the particles advanced always a stretch lower, as the layered envelopes weighed them down, until they finally reached the boundary where lies the intermediate degree between the ethereal and the lightest gross material division of substances

The extensive reservoir of particles gathered here awaited the signal of Hermetes, which came in the moment when everything was ready for this reservoir to pour, with the participation of Hathmes, into the space of the seven world-parts, as the opening happening of the arising of the gross material universes of the world-communities

The energy in the community of Ephesus flowed over out of the finer gross materiality like a radiated jetting of the smallest particles, which through the effect of the cooling of their expansion were driven together so as to precipitate into an ever denser substantiality of the gross material universe

In rotating forces the universe expanded into the distances and at the same time, under the effect of the Laws of Creation, formed clusters which were determined by the strongest particles

In every cosmic body that arose there is always as its foundation, at its very centre, the strongest particle of the highest spiritual radiating, which works with a magnetically attracting effect upon the other particles in the gross material substantiality of the elements they have formed

This basic particle resembles a gross material seed and is indeed in a certain sense the leading power which, as the foundation stone, contains within itself the prototype of the body

Thus in a certain part of the universe, driven by the pressure of the arms of the tirelessly working servants of Hermetes, there quivered the flying seed of a star which was to take upon itself an important task

This seed was to bring to one place in the universe gross material light and warmth for the approaching life which was to arise in the nearness

Its power was of a peculiar magnetic kind, and as it moved through the universe it began upon its way to attract to itself the lightest elements

Through the enveloping with these elements the magnetic attraction of the seed of the star grew at the same time stronger, and with the force of gravity it worked far out into space like a strong sucking magnet

In its circling it worked in a similar way to the rolling up of a snowball

It may be said that the seed of this star predetermined that rolling up of an ever greater quantity of gross substantiality which was of the homogeneous kind, until the needful size and density was attained

Thus the body swiftly grew larger, until it reached the predetermined size at which the animistic administrator could be called who in the kind of his working bore within himself one of the elements

And precisely at the call of Hermetes the exalted Sirius inclined towards our star, in order at the command of O-dio-nar to separate for this star a part of his radiation

Out of the radiation of Sirius there was born a fiery, merry youth of jubilant radiating – Apollo

Apollo, born in Valhalla, descended into the materialities to become the administrator of the mighty body which received as its dowry an important mission for the life in this part of the gross material universe

Under the protection of Sirius Apollo drew near to the star, and scarcely had his foot touched the animistic nature of this body when he kindled in the gross material interior of the star a flame which in a glowing blaze penetrated from the interior of the star outwards

This flame is fed by the energy of the spiritual seed of the star, and from the released energy the spiritual kernels of the other particles which had been drawn to the core by its power were also kindled

The tremendous energy of the spiritual kind of the seed of the star enables it to blaze from the beginning of its arising to the end which is predetermined for its duration in the universe of the world-part of Ephesus

The energy released out of the spiritual core of the seed of the solar body bears within itself such a quantity of power that in its lasting blazing this appears to be inexhaustible

A single particle of primordially spiritual creating volition made it possible that in the centre of the star, under the pressure of the gross material enveloping animistic forces, there came about at the touch of Apollo's shoe the kindling of a flame which in its kind of energy has no comparison in the far surrounding space extending even to the distances of the other galaxies

Here man may find a measure for the comprehension of what the power and the greatness of the primordially created working is

The spiritual particle which is the inner being of the seed of the star bears within itself energies which will suffice to blaze for this gross material world for billions of years

So much energy and power is to be found in one single primordially created core which became the seed of the sun and which through its radiance feeds the blazing forces in the other spiritual kernels that were drawn in as the elements hydrogen and helium

The immense flaming radiation penetrates outwards, so as upon the surface of the sun to feed the jetting of immense eruptions of energy which fling themselves into the surrounding space to irradiate it and to make it glow, so as to fill it with gross material light and warmth

And the administrator of this flame is the bright Apollo, son of Sirius, who from his animistic father received for the journey through the universe a flaming chariot drawn by two glorious animistic lions whose luminosity itself resembles the radiance of the sun

Standing upon this chariot of blinding brightness, Apollo guides the direction of the star through the universe, so that the body of the sun entrusted to him may always be at the places where it rightly should be according to the maturity and the pure spirituality of the mankind dwelling at the given time upon the earth

For a longer time already the chariot of Apollo has been steering to meet the comet which flies towards him in the fulfilment of the great happening of the Holy Judgment of God upon the human spirit in the Subsequent Creation

The chariot of Apollo draws after it not only the body of the sun but together with it also all the planets which have gathered around the mighty materiality of the solar disc

Just as at the beginning various seeds came into circling connection with the attraction of the sun, so according to these seeds there formed the material magnitudes of the planets, which became the anchoring point for the animistic radiation and the working of the single animistic servants

And precisely in the nearness of the chariot of Apollo there circles about him, in the kindliness of his rays, Erda, to whom was entrusted the planet upon which earthly life was permitted to arise, subsequently making possible the coming of the human spiritual species to its blessed development in the enveloping of a gross material earthly body

Of the arising and the development of the planet earth, when the servant Erda took it into her charge, we have already written

We shall also return again to this glorious working, for inseparably belonging to Erda there is also the servant Siphe and the further animistic servants accompanying her who work under her protection in the world of nature

That we may be permitted to come to know everything and also to comprehend it ever more, it is needful degree by degree to join the single parts into a whole picture of recognition, which will then be for man the one clear testimony of the greatness and the wisdom of the Will of God working in the work of Creation

To this Will indeed all the servants of the animistic kind are without delay subject, in that they perceive the fulfilling of their tasks as the most glorious state of their conscious being

The animistic servants fulfil faithfully and under all circumstances the tasks laid upon them which come to them from the heights from the primordially created Mercury

In the bond of their animistic kind there is also given for all the animistic a promise which is a protective pledge of their preservation through all the further developmental happenings in the Subsequent Creation

Whenever one of the seven world-parts reaches the boundary of the untenability of its further continuance, be it as a consequence of the failure of the developing human spiritual sparks or as the exhaustion of all the energies laid into the seeds of the stars and planets in the gross material planes, then all the animistic servants bound by their service to the given world-part are permitted to withdraw high into the circle of Valhalla or into the gardens of Asgard, so that here in a new creating they may be made ready for the further path which will be shown to them for their working

Whether these servants work in the universes, in the interiors of planets and stars, or are bound up with the world of plants, or belong to the oceans of the group souls of the animals, not one of these faithfully fulfilling animistic servants will be exposed to being dragged into the vortex of decomposition

All these animistic servants, working faithfully under the effect of the Will of God in the Subsequent Creation, will always be lifted up so as to be protected from the decomposing forces which from time to time must come into the material universes for the renewal of their exhausted matter

After the refreshing of the materialities in the influx of newly sunk spiritual seed there will again be formed a path for a new and still more conscious working of all the animistic servants, who will be able to spend the interval of the changes in the protection of the glorious gardens of Asgard or in the very circles of the high animistic servants joined to the animistic Valhalla

The end of all times, of which the animistic ones speak among themselves from time to time, holds not as the end of themselves, but as the end of the existence of the material places to which they are bound by their present service

The decomposition and destruction which will one day come in the natural order of the birth, the development and the maturity of the material worlds concerns the struggle mentioned from time to time by the animistic ones between Hermetes, Hathmes and Hareiars attacking against them with his hosts of servants

This decomposition, however, does not mean a struggle, nor does it mean the destruction and perdition of the animistic, as is often said, but only the perishing of matter itself

Many small and great animistic ones in the elements and in the plants speak of this time with a certain mysteriousness, for they themselves have here in Ephesus no experience of this upheaving happening of the decomposition of matter

Therefore their expectation is not entirely clear, and they are not sure what will come to them at that time and what further work will be laid upon them

Much that is wrong has also arisen out of the false tales of fallen animistic ones who entered the service of Lucifer

These tales always had only the task of unsettling and of shaking the trust of the animistic servants as well as of the human spirits

Thereby there were created the pictures of the destruction of the universe and together with it of all that lives

For the animistic, however, the given promise of rescue in the bright gardens of the animistic circle holds good

For the spiritual, however, which unlike the animistic has free will, it holds that at the time of the collapse of the materialities everything should already be in its true homeland, in Paradise, and that through the finding of the right path by way of its spiritual maturity in the free following of the Will of God

If, however, the spiritual upon its paths in frivolity, in indolence, or perhaps even in evil volition loses its way to the bright spiritual heights, then, unlike the animistic, it is threatened with the dragging down of both its material and its spiritual part into the decomposition of matter which will one day truly come

And this time draws ever nearer and is not so far off that men may continue in frivolity to pass over with their spirit all the warnings bound up with it

Although the sun shines with a bright light and the energy of its core is immense, the time of its extinguishing of necessity draws near

Therein lies for man the warning that in the materialities he can never tarry longer than these will afford him a ground for his path of development

The sun will one day be extinguished, and it is already today high time for every man, when looking up to the rays streaming forth from its material body, to seek the real spiritual Light which streams forth for him out of the Grail at the summit of the work of Creation
