The realm of Erda worked in the depths of the material planet, and through the whole great space there resounded the beating of hammers, the roaring of fire, the mighty rumbling and the cracking of rocks as these grew and gained in strength

And many further sounds wholly unknown to man, which on the contrary resembled glorious tones, rang through the interior of the planet and from time to time rose upwards, to bear somewhere to the surface the force of the animistic kind contained within them, which manifested itself into the layers of the materialities

In this force there was contained a creative power which, on the very spot where it appeared, brought forth in enchanting magical geometries the shapes and forms that imprinted themselves into the very density of gross matter

Thus every particle of matter bears within it the imprint of animistic forming and fashioning, and therefore the smallest as well as the greatest forms of materiality bear within them a structure of glory and of a certain perfection of shapes

What is important to know, however, is that all the pieces of gross materiality upon Earth, as well as in the whole universe and in all the materialities of the Subsequent Creation, contain within them a spiritual primordial particle, or better said a kernel bearing within it a part of spiritual energy

This spiritual energy is a spiritual kind other than that from which the human spirit comes

The spiritual energy comes from the stream of radiation descending from the heights of the Primordial Creation, and it conceals in its nature the energy needed for the development and the fulfilment in the building of forms in the work of Creation

To this energy of the spiritual kernel there attaches itself, on the highest planes in the Subsequent Creation, an animistic covering, which is drawn towards this descending spiritual stream

Thereby the stream of spiritual energy gradually acquires coverings, and with these it sinks ever lower, until at last it reaches the place where its destination for activity lies and where, under animistic influence, it finally settles, to become a part of the building of forms serving the shaping of the whole space of life

The stream contains an endless flowing of independent kernels of the spiritual kind

Thus, for example, one such spiritual kernel could on its way of sinking through the Subsequent Creation become, in this gross material universe of the world-part Ephesus, an initial building stone, which was moved and enveloped by the hands of the animistic servants until at last it was appointed as a piece of the structure for the lasting fulfilment of its task in the materiality of the planet Earth under the stewardship of Erda

Here it could then form the foundation for the building of more complex degrees in magnetic combining, for which its inner spiritual kernel, as that which attracts all things magnetically, was again used by the animistic hands of the Dwarfs for the building of pre-quark or quark particles, which became the foundation for one or another of the components of the atom

And this atom, again according to the number of the circling electrons, acquired the weight and the density that determined for it the properties of which one or another of the elements of the chemical system is composed, as this system is at last recognised even by earthly science

These miniature forms of the building pieces of matter bear within themselves of their own accord a certain glory, for in their seemingly insignificant foundation there is at the same time to be found the archetype of the universe as a whole

The great Hermetes, through his servants, of whom he has a great multitude in the universe, breathes into them the glory of the ceaseless circling that takes place in particles as yet imperceptible to any of the earthly aids to sight that exist today

In spite of their tiny dimensions these particles bear within them a hidden and immense energy, which rests in the spiritual origin of the kernel that lies concealed in them as the bearer of the building

The energy of the spirit through its vibration leads to a ceaseless circling movement, and out of this movement there are formed ever greater and greater wholes vibrating rhythmically in molecules and in compounds

The circling movement works at the same time with a magnetic effect, in which the single parts complement one another in their movement so that outwardly the compounds and the substances appear solid and impermeable, and also not to be torn asunder by any force

This phenomenon is contained in everything, in the small and in the great, in the smallest particles as well as in the greatest galaxies

Thus, observed from a distance, the solar system itself, of which the Earth is a part, appears from afar as a revolving crystal of Apollo, in which all the planets and their moons have their share in the resulting whole, which then appears as a jewel of the universe shining with light

The whole universe too has, for a view from above, the shape of a glorious pendant resembling a great many-sided crystal, whose inner foundation is a cube

And this archetype of the forms is given by the spiritual foundation of the stream of kernels, which descends into the spheres and the worlds, so that these may thereafter arise and come into being with the co-operation of animistic creating

In every single piece there is contained a reflection of the whole, towards which all substances then hasten in their movement and their magnetism, to form the structure of a higher degree, in which ever more complex and also denser substances are formed

In these substances, however much they bear the forms of the solidity of gross matter in all the compounds formed by the animistic servants, out of which minerals and ores took shape, there is always to be found, on the plane of the finest particles and pieces, a ceaseless circling movement together with a magnetic attraction, and these are the expression of the already mentioned living energy of the spiritual kind

Under certain conditions this movement, being combined, is transmitted into ever greater dimensions of the universe

Therefore we find in all great bodies the ground of their movement and also of gravitation

Gravitation has its origin in the movement and the magnetic attraction of the spiritual particles within the materialities

All that is to be found in the universe rotates

Thus the whole universe also turns about a main centre, which is the anchoring axis for the revolving disc of all the stars and planets in the universe

Through this very axis there flows most strongly the stream of the spiritual particles, or, as we have called them, the kernels

By this main centre, which we may call the centre of Hermetes, all the galaxies, stars and planets are attracted and held in the slowly expanding and thereafter again contracting cone of life, even as the life-span of this universe is predetermined by the wisdom out of the Light

The picture of the turning and rotating of all that is material is the sign of matter quickened by the spiritual stream and at the same time by the animistic weaving that shapes this stream

If this circling and rotating were to cease for but a moment, there would at once come the collapse of the whole world-part in its fine as well as in its grossest ordering

It is only the reflection of the abiding liveliness of the spiritual foundation, which rests in every single kernel that is unconditionally the starting point for all the particles of matter, and through its movement it is at last transmitted also to the outward circling movement of all the great portions of matter in the universe, where under this lawful movement everything is formed into the basic urging towards circling and rotating movement

This circling movement passes even through the body of every creature, and therefore of man as well

It brings a quickening influx of forces and at the same time joins magnetically to itself the intermediate layers of the coverings of matter, which in turn is magnetically drawn to the higher radiation of the spiritual spark

Of this, however, there is here no room to speak further, for we are devoting ourselves to the description of the arising of the matter of the Earth under the working of the animistic ones who serve the exalted Erda

The pictures presented here only complete the understanding of the creative working of that initial energy which entered the work of Creation at the speaking of the words by the Creator, God the Father: “Let there be Light!”

Fundamentally we may say that the particles which rotate in the universe and circle in their orbits are the sign of the presence of spiritual kernels, which by means of animistic activity were enveloped in the precipitate of other particles that had gone before them earlier and had come to a halt in their cooling on the way forward

Thus disposed, they were then anchored in their place for some purpose or fulfilment under the stewardship of one or another of the higher animistic servants

It may be said that all the great wholes in the universe which rotate and circle have their animistic steward, who through his radiation is connected with this outward material form and guides it in some mission towards development

Beside this we then find in the universe an immense quantity of matter which does not move along marked-out paths such as the describing of circles

It may be said that this is matter which is not yet joined, or which was joined but through further development was torn away again, and which is led in its further use either to a creative or to a chain-dissolving purpose

In the universe, and thereby also upon Earth, we always find forms of gross material manifestation which have their meaning as the building particles of the molecules of elements that we know, but also of those which mankind does not yet even know

If we look upon these particles, then we shall find in them always only an admirable forming of shapes, which bear within them the message of their origin in the starting point of Creation, in the Grail, through which the Divine radiation penetrated and was changed into primordially spiritual Light

Not to be imagined by man is that happening which is bound up with this starting point, when the primordially spiritual spheres themselves were formed, of which this universe with all its greatness and its immense materiality is only a derived sediment, which, like a stream of forces, separated itself off in the primordially spiritual and descended, in order from a certain place onward to be transformed under the hands of the animistic servants into the worlds of the materialities in the Subsequent Creation

In everything there is contained a part of the beginning, for all the forces, before they separated and sank downwards, passed through the halls of the Grail and became a precipitate out of the Divine radiation in the work of Creation

The forms that arise in the universe are imitations of the higher worlds within the possibilities of the shaping of gross matter

So it happened also in the case of the forms that became the foundation here upon Earth and that are likewise the starting point for human sacred geometry

These were from the beginning contained in all that arose in the animistic working at the very beginning of the arising of the gross matter of the Earth

The sacred numbers are contained in all that arose in the joining of the primal particles of substances, which were in everything even before the density of the structures of substances was permitted to form in gross materiality

Like blossoms in a forward-hastening branching, the gross particles of the matter of the planet Earth interpenetrated one another, driven by the force of the several animistic realms that encircled in rings the innermost temple of Erda itself

The radiation of the temple of Erda formed the background of threads for these gross material particles of atoms and molecules, which rose like seething magma to an ever greater distance from the interior of the planet

The further these outgrowths of the red, the white and the black realm fought their way, the more they mingled with one another and formed either a common structure of matter, or else separated again and in the pockets that arose formed their own homogeneous fields hidden deep beneath the surface, which in cooling became ever firmer, until it resembled floes drifting upon the intermediate layer of the hot liquid interior

Most strongly there was contained here upon the surface the work of the white realm, which for its building formed as its foundation in gross matter the compounds of silicon

The red realm created the foundation for all the metals, which in their fluidity pressed through the intermediate layers towards the surface and formed the veins of precious ores which were one day to be recognised by man and used for his good work

The black realm shaped its substance for all that was to bear within it the element carbon as the foundation of life

In their density the substances of this black realm either retained a fluidity in the shape of a dark, greasy mass, or else resembled a glossily gleaming stone of black colour when under pressure they ripened into denser forms

But if these substances were exposed to truly high forces of animistic working, they then took shape as crystals of luminously transparent diamonds

The silicate substances of the white realm, when subjected to mighty pressure in the interior of the Earth, changed into structures of crystals bearing within them a certain healing power, and at the same time, in union with the ores of the red realm, they became the skeleton that in its cooling bore within it the firmness for the further building

Upon the spherical shape of the surface of the Earth, which was formed by the said force of gravitational circling, the substances flowing from below condensed into a solid shape, because the outer universe with its iciness cooled their glowing heat

Erda looked with delight upon this happening, which resembled a ceaselessly changing interweaving of colours

In the living happening there was ever more forced out of the interior also the gaseous part of the molecules, which condensed while still beneath the surface and formed a new element, which hastened under the stewardship of the mighty Neptune

Drops of water came forth upon the surface and at once evaporated, only to fall down again in the cooling, drawn by the attraction of the law of gravitation towards the body of the solid skeleton of the planet composed of rocks, of minerals and of ores

If we suppose that some man might be permitted to observe from near by this happening, which in a certain sense was wondrous for him, it would awaken in him rather a fear of the working of the mighty forces that were at work in it all

For Erda, however, it was a joyful manifestation of life, for it was the happening accompanying the busy development of the young planet entrusted to her care

In her perceiving it was as when a mother, deeply moved, follows with inward pride the first little steps of her child

The motherly kind of animistic connection filled the exalted and gentle Erda with happiness, for in all this she was permitted to behold only the fulfilling of her task

About her gaze there hovered already at that hour the forms of the life that was yet to come, when the right time of ripeness for it should arrive

The glorious forms of the virginal beauty of pure life, which were to take hold upon the first weathering rocks and also in the seas, led Erda to a joyful dance

Apollo, following her joy, sent towards her planet the flashes of his rays, that under their glow everything might ripen more swiftly and attain the radiation needed for the coming of life

Then, awakened in the depth of the interior of the material body, beneath the covering of thick plates of cooling rock, the first seeds of life began to stir

Led by the hands of the Dwarfs they drew ever nearer and nearer to the surface along the veined paths in the rocks, to rest here after the toilsome ascent for a long time in slumber and thus to await the next degree of radiation, which was yet to come

In the shallow lakes of water, which under the working of Neptune changed ceaselessly in the uncertain boundaries of their shores, the first particles of life lay motionless in expectation of the happening to come

And this happening, at the time appointed by Hermetes and Hathmes according to the position of their two planets, arrived

From the heights of Asgard the Alphar descended, bearing in their hands the archetypes of the life that was to arise

The archetypes of the slumbering particles, like seeds laid into the soil, began to vibrate, and through their vibrating they formed the uniting warmth for a higher advance in the development of the as yet unconscious life

Thus some seeds took hold in the places appointed for it and with the power of their archetype drove earthly life towards development

The dividing of the first molecules of life acquired a rhythm in which no interruption was ever again to occur

This rhythm was given by the influence of the animistic activity that appeared here immediately after the quickening through the archetypes of the Alphar

It was the exalted Siphe who hastened to the planet that was to become a dear home for her in this world-part Ephesus

The planet afforded, and still affords, to Siphe and to her people the ground for their working upon all plant life upon Earth

It was she who hastened hither together with the host of her first sparks of animistic servantship, which under her guidance spread out and carefully took hold of the radiation that had for the first time to be joined between the fine seeds and the gross material primal form of life

Only in tiny steps did the ascent of life take shape, for all the servants were learning, and their every step was a test of holding to the right direction

The archetypes of the plants from Asgard drew with their power the development of the gross material plants ever forward

And however much these forms still appeared as nothing but a stumbling after those archetypes, from the beginning they had within them a certain kind of beauty

With every further generation the sizes and the more exact shapes were advanced, and at the same time there arose a manifoldness that called to the work ever new hands of the animistic ones, who came to the further creating upon Earth

Beside this creating of the plant world, further particles of the life borne up out of the depth of the Earth were being prepared for a yet higher step, for with them there was for the first time to be joined the radiation flowing down to the Earth from the first ring of the ocean of life in Asgard

The unconscious cellular life upon Earth was to be joined through a narrow radiation with the quickening unconsciously animistic, which went before the animal souls that were yet to come

In joy Erda gave thanks to O-dio-nar and to the Father of all for their wisdom and for the blessing that now filled every single earthly day, in which something new, advancing forward in development, was always permitted to draw near

Thus slowly there flowed by millions of years of the shaping of life

If only men were permitted to recognise something of this

If, in attuning themselves to these glorious happenings, they were able to bow in humility before the wisdom of the Divine creating, then there could come to them that fulfilment which draws near whenever the human spirit intuitively perceives its harmony with the whole of the work of Creation

May the readers rightly receive the pictures that tell of the ancient vibrating of life, when at its very beginning upon this Earth it still quivered quietly in the joy of grateful service to the Creator

May at least those who open themselves rightly to the pictures of the distant past let it flow within them as a prayer of thanksgiving containing fervent thanks for all that was done so that the human spirit might enter upon the Earth, for whom at the time of his coming everything had been gloriously made ready

As for an awaited guest, all this was prepared for the human spirit by the animistic servants with an incomprehensible skill and with a sense for gladdening beauty, which men can only receive in silent wonder and give thanks for

There will yet be brought near all that had to be made ready so that life might swing itself up to the height at which the first human spiritual radiation was permitted to come upon the Earth
