Many people know of the ancient empire of Atlantis, which lay upon a long island stretching almost across the whole of today's Atlantic Ocean from the north down to the south

Upon this island, or rather continent, great seats were set in many places, and there stood here immense edifices and temples

In this part about Celeine it is granted to speak of the connections which led to the fall of this mighty empire

At the time of the utmost failure of the inhabitants of Atlantis, including the rulers themselves, the kings Orokun and Ororun, O-dio-nar received high in Valhalla a command which Phermos brought to him from Mercury himself out of the halls of the Castle of the Grail

This command bore within it the halting of the further growth of the earthly Atlantean men, who had begun to regard themselves as gods, who misused the forces of the animistic helpers and enslaved the peoples of distant continents, whom they held to be inferior

To all this an end was to be made, so that upon the Earth a renewed soil could be formed for new generations of men, from whom the power over the animistic servants working on Earth would henceforth be taken and into whom the need of a greater humility for the co-operation with them would be implanted

The exalted O-dio-nar called Hareiars to himself and made known to him his task

The Earth was to be struck powerfully, so that men should never again suppose themselves to be more than that which they truly are, namely spiritual wanderers who are upon the paths of their development in the materialities of the Subsequent Creation

The people of Atlantis had already some time before received a long term for their transformation, but more than half of the time bestowed upon them for the change they squandered, as though their ears had been sealed with wax

Therefore one golden epoch of mankind on Earth was to be brought to an end, since mankind did not value the blessedness which inclined itself towards it out of the Light

The men of Atlantis ceased to value the co-operation with the animistic servants and took it as a matter of course that these helped them in everything

Their earthly ascent was withal directly bound up with the faithful help of the strong servants who had been sent to the Earth by Valhalla

There were here to the help of men great giants and mighty representatives of the elements, who allowed that which today is already impossible for man to appear as a matter of course to the men of that time

The ascent of the Atlantean empire lasted for tens of thousands of years, and these could indeed be called the golden age of the people of Atlantis of that time

At the very summit Atlantis regarded itself as the ruling empire of all life on Earth

And in truth it also was the empire ruling over all

But what it did therewith it did not realise, for it basked in its preponderant power and would not admit that an immense spiritual responsibility flowed to it therefrom

This responsibility Atlantis overlooked far too long, and thereby there gradually began to unwind the threads which had to bring destruction

Everywhere where the stronger and the more blessed does not help the weaker kindly and wisely, there arises a stagnation of the forces, which must manifest as a discharge in a storm compelling the return to the natural flow of equilibrium

Thus it happens in all places in the work of Creation where a deflection or a distortion of the forces streaming out of the Grail occurs, and therefore this law overtook, in the time of the reign of the great Orokun, the empire of Atlantis itself

Swept away was to be the pride of this people and also its preponderant power over the others, so that the line of life on Earth should no longer deviate from the Primordial Laws of God which wisely guard every development in the work of Creation

Destroyed was to be the work of the human spirit that had failed, which had begun to bear false fruit

But the planet which belongs to the administration of the servant Erda was not to be destroyed, for out of the Light this planet had already at the beginning of the arising of the universe of Ephesus been chosen through its position for a special blessed task, which was to come only a long time later

Hareiars, with a roaring in his animistic inner being, heard out the command of O-dio-nar

He bowed and, like a lightning flash, flew out of the halls of Valhalla

He made his way down to the worlds of those materialities which he knew and which he himself had often held back from destruction only with the utmost self-denial

He halted upon the radiant bridge leading to Ephesus

The angel keeping watch over this part of the world took fright at the vehemence with which the red mantle of Hareiars swept past him

With apprehension he followed the spear of this servant overflowing with power

The flame of his candlestick trembled, for he knew why this strong servant was coming

There was to come the straightening of that which had grown crooked

The materialities shuddered in the presentiment of something dreadful that was to come, which however was not to be deflected by even the smallest particle from the highest justice

The animistic ones and all who worked in this part withdrew, but the earthly men felt nothing

Nor did they hear the warnings which had reached them long beforehand from their spiritual leaders

In their pride they rejoiced in the power which was still with them and which they continued to misuse for the strengthening of the great protective ramparts around the royal seat of Ororun

It seemed that at least the tidings from the messengers had after all reached them, who told them that the animistic Rizuns – the giants who serve them – no longer wished to submit to their rule

Yet the Atlanteans rejected the accusation of pride and arrogance instead of making peace with the giants and the others, and instead of humbling themselves before the Creator, and they continued to regard themselves as more than the humanly spiritual species

All this and much more besides the keen gaze of Hareiars saw

He did not, however, ponder over what leads men to such deluded conduct, that was not his way

He stood and observed the world of matter and the happenings taking place within it

He saw the weak places which permitted him to take effect

Much did he restrain himself, that he might not stretch forth his hand into the course of all the circling stars of Ephesus and thereby bring about the collapse of the entire cosmic system

The wandering of his gaze along the threads we may call a clairvoyant animistic penetration through the physical laws of matter

The silence and the stillness around him was unbearable, for it was not proper to him that he should stand so long and appear inactive

Then there resounded through space a whistling which shook all things

The spear had just flown from his hand with a violent swing and was hurtling through space into the depths of the worlds of Ephesus

Where it appeared, there everything around shook and trembled

Like a flying lightning flash it vanished in the nebulae of the starry worlds

The proud figure of Hareiars towered upon the bridge of Hiemdall and in a certain expectation seemed for a time to grow rigid

For a certain time nothing happened, and everything gave the impression as though for a moment even the course of the circling threads of the whole of Ephesus had come to a standstill

Then suddenly, however, the spear appeared like a lightning flash and was returning obediently to its lord

Before that it had described a great arc somewhere in the far distances

With the same whirring with which it had flown forth, it came to rest again in the hand of Hareiars

Upon his countenance there appeared a brief smile of contentment

His work was accomplished

With the same swiftness with which he had appeared, this dreadful-looking yet faithfully serving servant of the Light returned back to his home in the vicinity of Valhalla

He looked forward to this place of his, which trembles unceasingly with power and in which there is neither silence nor peaceful stillness, for here there ever resounds the clang of his weapons, with which he works without cease for the maintaining of the streaming of his power

Meanwhile, as Hareiars returned and O-dio-nar heard from him the tidings of the fulfilment of the task, there hurtled through space, within the cosmic forces of the gross materiality of Ephesus, a comet which the point of the spear cast by Hareiars had severed from a distant star

In perfect knowledge of the laws of matter the precisely aimed blow severed, far away in distant places, a part of the matter of a disintegrating star, out of which there formed a flying portion of matter – a comet, which now made its way towards the Earth

To the men on Earth there remained three years, which were given to them for a possible turning about, for the comet was followed by Haetheine, who already at the beginning of the summoning of Hareiars had the command from O-dio-nar to halt his work, if men, even at the last moment, should change for the better and prove their genuine endeavour to humble themselves in their pride

Haetheine followed the comet and awaited the command of O-dio-nar which would move her to halt it or to deflect it

With her clear gaze she knew beforehand the intention of Hareiars, with which he did exactly that which he did

Inwardly she bowed before his clairvoyance and the ingenuity with which he set everything in motion

She too had thoughtfully prepared the forces for the deflection of the comet from its course

An earthly year passed since the warning

Through the vibration of the mantle of Hareiars his planet, which circles in the solar system in the vicinity of the Earth and is known today still under the name of Mars, grew brighter in its red colour and proclaimed that its lord and administrator was near

Men meanwhile heeded nothing, although the star-gazers observing the night sky raised the alarm and the highest priestess of Atlantis sent forth a warning call to the kings about the approaching punishment for their pride and for the pride of the highest nobility standing around them

Another year passed and the planet of Hareiars drew so near that it was possible to see the craters upon its red surface almost with the earthly eye alone

It looked as though at any moment it would crash down upon the Earth

The priestess sent yet another warning message to the kings, but these again made light of it and rejected it

The comet flew on, had already traversed a great part of its way through space, and with its radiance it had already appeared among the palettes of Apollo

Haetheine still had no command for the halting of it

Meanwhile on Earth the position of the stars and the strange happenings in the depths of Erda awakened apprehension in men

Above their heads there appeared in the sky a small comet, and the kings asked their star-gazers whether it was the cause of all that which was happening

The star-gazers of Atlantis confirmed that the comet was approaching the Earth, but at the same time they calculated that it would pass the Earth by

The pure priestess of Atlantis sent the kings from her distant seat a last urgent letter, in which she wrote that the cause of all the happenings was the arrogance of the human spirit on Earth

Herself become luminous within, she thereupon left her earthly shell and returned back to her home – into the spiritual gardens of her mistress Astarte

The kings were already losing their hold over their own dominion, for out of the body of Erda smoke rose in many places and the earth trembled beneath the feet of all

The great dragons, who until then had faithfully served men, rebelled against the service and flew away into the high mountains, where the seat of the highest priestess of Atlantis used to be

The nearness of the red star of Hareiars brought it about that among men on Earth there broke out diseases which deprived them of life without mercy

The third year began since the blow of the spear of Hareiars

In many places the earth burst open and a glowing spring of magma poured forth from it

From the heavens there fell a redly dark rain and the sky veiled itself in darkness

The star-gazers could no longer observe the heavens, for there was no longer a single clear night which would have permitted it

Then nevertheless a flash ran across the sky, as though a chain of stars had been torn asunder and these were hurtling towards the Earth

The men of Atlantis, accustomed to everything animistic being subject to their will, began for the first time to fear for their fate

Hidden in their great seats of stone they trembled in fear of that which was to come

For a moment, however, it seemed that everything had ceased, but the silence which spread abroad was more ominous than the preceding rumbling and the tremors of the earth

It was but a brief moment in which nature together with men drew breath from the oppressive pressure

The heavy clouds in the sky began to part and it seemed that the clear sky with the sun would show itself again

The next instant, however, men cried out in horror

The moon, which from time immemorial had circled upon its course, appeared to them all at once between the dark clouds nearer than usual and drew ever closer

Many beheld the figure of Celeine, who stood upon the great luminous disc rolling towards the Earth

Her countenance was unspeakably sorrowful, for into her material body of the moon there had struck, upon the side turned away from the Earth, the comet set in motion by Hareiars, which thereby deflected it from its course

It was not a powerful blow, yet it nevertheless deflected the matter of the moon nearer to the Earth

It was truly not by much, but it sufficed for the phenomenon which had to come

The nearness of Celeine awakened Okeanos and Poseidon to tremendous activity

Everything shook, as the mighty forces of the two cosmic bodies worked upon each other with mutual powers of attraction

The body of the material home of Celeine drew the water high upwards through its nearness

All the seas and oceans poured out over their shores and, like one single mighty wave, hurtled into the interior of the continents

As the Earth turned, there arose a centrifugal wave which, drawn by the force of the body of the moon, poured over the highest peaks of the mountains

The sea water swept over the city of Orokun and over his own seat, which for decades had been fortified against any intervention from without

As though these barriers were not there at all, the water drove over the ramparts, to fall the next instant into the deep moats which no one was ever to have surmounted

It, however, filled them in a moment and continued unstoppably upon its way ever higher and higher

Foaming and dragging with it everything that stood in its way, it tore through the spacious quarters of the mighty palaces of stone and drew near to the most spacious of them – to the seat of Orokun

In surrender, having first sought to help wherever it was possible, there stood the ruler of Atlantis, and his gaze observed how that of which he and his exalted nobility of the Armans had been so proud was now vanishing within a brief moment in the foaming roar of the ocean waters

Everything shook as the buildings crashed into the waters, and when the water reached the palace of Orokun, then he, standing between the mighty columns of his dome, exposed his body to the waves of the waters, which paralysed everything with their unaccustomed iciness

The wave bore his body onward as far as the highest mountains, whence his gaze was to behold for the last time the ruin of his land

After the spirit of Orokun had separated, his strong body stiffened wholly in the coldness of the water and sank into the deep, which now already spread out everywhere where formerly there had been blossoming life and blessed orchards tended by the labouring inhabitants of Atlantis, who belonged to the lowest caste and to the slaves

Now there were here neither men nor trees nor even buildings, which sank downwards as under the pressure of the water the plates of that continent opened, which for the following tens of thousands of years was to become a deep sea bed

It was a horrifying happening, which in the tempestuousness of the elements knew no mercy with any living creature

At last there fell also the brighter empire of Ororun, which withstood longer, for it had been built as a water kingdom floating upon the surface of the ocean

The buildings, which before that had floated upon the surface for whole millennia although they were of stone origin, now broke asunder and in slow sinking plunged into the depths of the dark waters

Precisely these remains of the buildings of the empire of Ororun will at a certain time emerge, in order to bear witness to today's mankind of the pride of an ancient civilisation which in its spiritual knowledge stood withal much higher than today's mankind stands

Columns such as men have never yet beheld will bear witness to how no human conceit can reach higher than the wise Will of God permits

As pictures of the men of old all this will testify and warn, like a great memento of the ruin which today again towers up before today's mankind

Already then these pictures were caught in the threads of the Vaenen, so that at the right time they might give witness for an earthly mankind much weaker and frailer than was the generation of the Atlanteans

With wonder Haetheine observed all this, who at that time had arrived at the Earth

She saw also the threads of the Alphar and saw too how through these threads there streams the Light bringing adjustment and purification

“The Justice of the Father of all Worlds”, whispered the servant to herself, who knew now and already for a certain time beforehand that she would not be called to halt it and that the task of Hareiars would be carried through to the very end

Like a small white-grey ball the moon rolled around the Earth, now for a while finding itself nearer and then again further away

For more than forty days and nights the moon rocked, and its influence held all the waters high above their places

Beneath Atlantis, through the influence of the nearness of the moon and also through the previous work of the Rizuns, the whole mass of the mountain range collapsed, and the once so magnificent blossoming island sank with all its men and animals into the depths, where the glowing magma devoured it, and thereupon the waters of the ocean closed over the greatest part of the immense continent

As a warning there remained of this great continent only a few small islands, which have endured until today

The great rocking of the moon lasted for many days

Only then, at the command of O-dio-nar, was Haetheine permitted to step up to the moon and with her gentle touch to steady it in its deflection and to return its orbit back around Erda

Everything gradually eased and grew calm

For whole earthly years the water slowly receded back into the places of the oceans and also filled the space where once mighty Atlantis had towered

This intervention in the body of Erda brought it about that the continents which were spared complete submersion changed their appearance and also the height with which they rose above the oceans

Also through the influence of the unaccustomed nearness of the moon the axis of the planet shifted, and this was all at once subject to a new cycle of the seasons

The newly emerged coasts gradually grew green, even as the Siphe came into those places – sent beings caring for the first plants that had taken hold upon the emerged white cliffs or upon the muddy level surfaces running far into the interior of the land

Life swiftly returned there whence it had been torn by the waters into the depths of the seas

Also there where never before could there have been any green, since before that such surfaces had lain beneath the sea water, there now spread mossily shining expanses of fertile pastures

Newly there emerged a great part of today's archipelago which is called Ireland, Scotland and also England, which until that time had been but a small island

There emerged also further parts of the continents which until that time had been sea bed

The weight of the sinking continent of Atlantis pressed them up to the surface and made of them spacious coastlands

To the newly emerged places there came animals which had before been carefully led away by the small animistic servants and could thus be preserved as by a miracle

Again new life awakened everywhere where but decades before ruin had reigned

The Earth gradually became beautiful again, as though it had come anew out of the workshop of the first Alphar and Elves

And so it came to pass that after a longer time, far from the waters of the ocean, there appeared upon the high hills of several continents the first men who were permitted to survive the dreadful happenings, in order to found a new human stem and thus to lay the foundation for a new development of mankind on Earth

These men no longer had any knowledge of Atlantis, for their earthly foot had never trodden upon this so rich and mighty continent

They were men who had first to be led anew to knowledge, so that in their earthly ignorance they might move forward more swiftly, and therefore there was sent to them for their help by God the Father a strong leader out of the divine sphere

The Archangel Lucifer, chosen for the service which was appointed to him, descended through the spheres and plunged towards

the depths of the materialities, in order to begin his task

He was convinced that in this extraordinary, unexpected task he would acquit himself splendidly and that all in the whole of Creation and the other Archangels also would express to him their reverent thanks

Haetheine completed her part of the task and returned back into her radiant palace in the vicinity of Valhalla

Celeine again circled peacefully around the Earth and recognised well that to these men who newly found themselves upon the Earth it would not be known for whole millennia with what helps she is endowed for them, and that therefore they would lose themselves more and more in their severance from the friends and neighbours dwelling in the spheres of the finer planes

She saw how the rift between the earthly world and the other parts of the work of Creation would grow ever wider and how she herself would not be able to change it

That only men themselves would have to will to change
