He Who Lives By the Sword

THE WAY OF THE GRAIL – SUPPLEMENTARY TEXTS – August 17, 2021

These words are a judgment which touches heavily above all those men who bear within them the volition of impurity and of evil

The words hold for those who hitherto here upon earth worked in their capering only towards the strengthening of their desires and wishes, whose fulfilment not seldom caused harm and suffering to other men

But it is not only a judgment for those who have already sunk quite into the depths of the darkness far from all pure humanity, for the warning “He who lives by the sword” holds also for all those who in the lukewarmness of the spirit have become stuck in a multitude of binding side paths, to which they devoted a greater portion of their inner power than was set by the Wisdom of God for the paths of the human spirit through the Subsequent Creation

For all who have entangled themselves far too much in the fulfilling of those wishes which do not lead upward towards the Light, for all these there now threatens that also upon them, in the coming happening, there will be fulfilled the judgment contained in the words “He who lives by the sword”

This call drawing near through the universe bears within it the fulfilment of the words of the first of the Commandments of God

“Thou shalt have no other gods before Me!”

Whoever has let his volition towards the Light, that is, towards God, be overgrown within by side wishes and has submitted himself wholly to their realisation in the materialities, he will soon come to the unexpected experiencing of the recognition of a fateful turning aside from the path which, from the beginning of the development in the Subsequent Creation, is lovingly prepared beforehand in the highest care of the Light for every humanly spiritual germ

It will bring to mankind in the greatest measure a great surprise, and only a few men will therein be permitted to experience blessing, when in this respect they will be found by the Light as truly fulfilling the high ideal of harmony and of purity

But even today there are among the hosts of the inhabitants of the earth such pure men, who have maintained their pure and healthy approach to life

Alas, a great part has turned aside in a wrong direction and has yielded to the allure of the tempter

Along all the threads of fate there now flies to men upon earth, under the working of the Vaenen, all that was ever sown in the wishes, the thoughts and the deeds of man

Like a stroke of lightning it will come down, in order in the end, with the power granted out of the Light, to burn away all the remaining threads which still hold many of the human souls in the planes of materiality where they do not belong, if with their inward volition they have already strongly joined themselves with the darkness

It is like a living electrical happening in which to every man there runs, along the connections stretched out by himself, a high tension which has accumulated according to the Law of the multiplication of the reciprocal return precisely for all that was laid into Creation by man himself

And much of it is rushing on which will suddenly bring a complete turning about in the life of the whole of mankind, as has already been spoken of in earlier texts

Gradually it will in some way be fulfilled upon every man

He who lives by the sword shall perish by the sword

Thereby it is expressed that what man has cultivated within himself, that upon which he is most unhealthily dependent and by which he causes harm in Creation, that he will now suddenly lose wholly in his life, he will be deprived of it and will become comfortlessly uprooted

At the same time he will thereby be judged as a spiritual creature who lost himself, who in free will enslaved himself by his own wishes and turned aside from the direction leading to a joyful being

What can be simpler still, what should lead man to an earnest halting, than this simple folk saying, which reminds him that in the return everything will be proved upon everyone, so as at the same time to release the lawful development of the events under the judging power of the Light

There will remain only that which in liveliness heads towards the Light, all the rest will be taken from mankind

But also all that strives towards the Light will be irradiated to its most inward foundation, it will be freed from all deposits, so that in the end it may shine brightly in the purest degree of human humility towards the Primordially Eternal Laws of God

Men who bear within them sufficient liveliness in their striving towards the Light can be sure that all that is needful for their honest striving in life will be preserved for them

What, however, is far from the Light, that will be lost and after it there will remain only emptiness in the experiencing

The simple power and clarity of this saying still appears to many today only as a folk tale, because hitherto nothing of the kind happened before the eyes of men which would lead them to direct experiences, thanks to which they would begin to occupy themselves with this Law of Creation in such a way as to fear it, if their volition aims towards the darkness, or that this Law might be a trusted support for them, if only a pure striving towards life fills their inner being

The explanation is as simple as the effect of the Primordially Eternal Law of sowing and harvest itself

Hitherto it was thus, that the time between the laying in of the seed and the harvest lasted too long for the earthly eyes of men, for many lacked a clearer knowledge of the continuance of the soul of man and also the important knowledge of the fact of repeated lives in this earthly world

If men had taken this more for their own and had sought with earnestness the way leading to the essence of the perfect Justice which takes effect at the birth of man upon earth, they could long ago have recognised the great Truth of the efficacy of the Law of Reciprocal Action and thereby also of this folk saying

But all this is already in vain, for the time for seeking it is past

The time which men had through whole millennia for this recognition, which could have opened their eyes for a timely transformation of man, has already passed

With the time of today all this is prepared for the compensation which will come in the fulfilment of the living Law of Reciprocal Action and will appear among men with unexpectedly strong effects

All this will also thicken, until even the men who hitherto only laughed at it will be compelled to halt, in order by the eloquent expression of their faces to show their inner dismay at the warning at last grasped, that God and His laws cannot be mocked for ever

Now, like an enormous storm front, it draws near to the earth, and the first effects already begin to strike into the life of all men

Where hitherto there prevailed only a superficial and general frivolity closing its eyes to the doing of all the ugliness and unhealthiness among men in all the forms as we know them, there the strongest reciprocal power will now be unleashed, which will gradually silence all the intellectual craftiness which always looked askance and contemptuously upon those men who willed to walk through life in honesty with the pure conscience of their inner being

The fulfilment of this approaching happening will bring among earthmen a complete upheaval in their approach to life

Many a man, under the impression of the rolling events, will still at the last moment decide voluntarily to confess his iniquities in the endeavour to guard himself from the heavy impact of the Law of Reciprocal Action

Such a confession will, however, be of no avail unless at the same time there awakens in him a living will towards a complete inward transformation, which alone is the true foundation for a new life

And out of such a confession there must also, as a matter of course, grow deeds which will manifest themselves in his new approach to life in his dealing with other men and with the world of nature

The effect of the impact of the reciprocal threads will be able at least in part to be mitigated if in man there comes about, still at the last moment, an unconditional becoming luminous of his volition in an ardent blazing up of the resolve never again to cause his fellow men nor any being pain and suffering in the fulfilling of his wishes

For this state of a complete inward transformation, however, almost no one of the men of today is prepared

There is lacking the enduring earnest striving which would after all already have shown itself more visibly in deeds among men

That which is most important, which the spirit needs for its inward and also outward finding of true freedom, all that is still overlooked and pushed aside, it is befogged by the hitherto secondary wishes of men

Of the real freedom of man we can, however, speak only when the blessing of the Light flows to him

That happens through the inserting of oneself into the laws of Creation

All the rest is only a temporary pushing through of the wishes of men

In the last thousand years mankind has never yet been surrounded by such conditions for life as is the case today with the states of western civilisation

Nevertheless this does not lead to thanks and to a pure ardent prayer, but is only a ground for the heightening of new wishes

Thus wholly engulfed in the fulfilling of their never-ending wishes, men do not divine that above them the heavens are opening for the fulfilment of the Judgment of God

The majority devote their attention to nothing other than the daily fulfilling of their small plans which they will to wrest for themselves in spite of the trespasses and the harm caused to the other creatures in Creation

It is because precisely the greatest part of earthly mankind lives in the supposition that there exists no such thing as the supremely Just Law of reciprocal working

They wish that it might proceed as their limited intellect grasps it

Only if there set itself in their path a happening comprehensible for them, which would grossly and harshly convince them of God and of His Laws, then they would take fright

Only then would they be willing to occupy themselves with something such as the Justice of God

These men have never occupied themselves with the investigation of how the course of the development of the material parts of the Subsequent Creation is set, where the Law of Reciprocal Action works exactly as precisely and justly as in the other finer planes of the work of Creation

If men occupied themselves with it in earnest, they would gradually penetrate with their recognition into the threads which hitherto remain hidden from the greater part of mankind in their superficial view

They would find that the Justice of God, taking effect in everything, is not bound for mankind only to the framework of one single earthly life, but that the great cycle of the sowing and the harvest of all the vibrations of the volition of the spirit manifests itself in a far wider compass of the Subsequent Creation

That is, that the just cycle of the effects of the reciprocal working which lies in the threads of fate of every single man is administered with the highest masterly delicacy and precision by the countless nimble hands of the Vaenen, the animistic servants of Valhalla, who through the will of O-dio-nar serve continually and immediately in direct connection with the Will of God, which pervades uniformly all the degrees of materiality in the Subsequent Creation

In the work of God there is no separation of this world from the beyond, but everything continues further beyond the boundary of earthly gross materiality, in order in the end to return again with the human spirit in the further continuation of his path at his new birth into life upon earth

The Vaenen stand above these materialities and work into the individual degrees as the directors, pervading them, of the paths of the human spirit

This connection of the Vaenen, the administrators of the threads of human fate, makes possible nothing other than a perfect accord with the Justice of God

The Vaenen themselves stand under the pressure of this Justice, and a single deviation in their weaving would mean at once their separation and their dissolving in the gearing of the forces standing again still higher above themselves

But none of the Vaenen, the faithful servants, fears anything of the kind, for their animistic inner being is filled with the highest joy that they may work wholly in the vibrations of the effects of the Will of God and out of this Will enduringly weave for every one of men a fate in which there is found everything from the greatest deeds to the smallest vibrations of intuitive perceptions and of thoughts

Gradually men would also recognise that the manner in which the reciprocal manifestations of their own sowing return to them is led to fulfilment through the highest wisdom, which works therein again so that Justice may come to everyone, in which there is always contained all that the Divine radiates as the all-quickening Light into Creation, and thus at the same time also the helping Love

Hitherto many men were not able to look about rightly therein, because their intellect made a great obstacle for them in it, holding them for all their reflecting only within the dimension of the gross matter of the earthly world

What was above that escaped the intellect out of its reach and thereby became indefinite, weakened and above all far from the world of men

In this distance there was thus frivolously cast aside all that was to be connected with the Laws of Creation and with their effects upon the world of men

To intellectual men it also still today appears as distant

Nearness comes about only in the moment when to these intellectual men too there steps into their immediate nearness Sthyx and demands the claim of a further advance forward into the other spheres of Creation, which at the same time compels the laying aside of the earthly body

At that time that mockery ceases to hold, for man senses that around him, upon him and within him things are happening which far exceed his influence

But this will now change, for man will need to experience immediately the state in which Sthyx stands in his nearness

His full life will suddenly collapse for him and he will lose all that to which he clung with the power of his volition and which at the same time did not lead to harmony and to the Light

He will be deprived of all that has become unhealthy and that has grown with him to the degree of dependency

It may be said that all his dependency will be heavily struck, together with the way in which there will be lost before his eyes all that hitherto drove him forward in an insatiable volition

If then there are not woven by man sufficiently strong threads leading towards luminous goals, then his world will unexpectedly collapse and he will remain torn out of his hitherto setting of life

And that will, through a strong tension, in the end also bring about the unhinging of the intellect

Seized by rage he will hold everything else but himself to be the ground of his condition

Discontent and fury will precede the subsequent state of complete emptiness

Such a state will for some time be called by physicians a psychic illness

Only after a time will it be recognised among men that it is the effect of the fulfilling of the Judgment of God

For in reality the originator of such a state will be the inner rigidity and the failure of the development of the inward spirit, who thus, under the pressure of the threads of fate, draws near to the loss of his conscious being

This shift will bring, as a self-acting happening, a change of the radiation of the blood, and this will of course also manifest itself in the actual activity of the frontbrain as the serving instrument of the intellect

In the expression of the face and in the eyes it will be possible to observe with men thus struck the dying out of their inner life, although earthly they will be preserved to live out their days as a warning admonition to other men

This happening is already quite near and will bring a change in the behaviour of a great part of men

Therefore everyone ought to weigh very well by what he lives and what are his wishes or seemingly innocent fancies

Wherever his volition is too far turned aside from the naturally healthy plane of being which is given by the Wisdom of God and is also tended by the high animistic servants in the materialities, there there already forms a strong influencing of the way in which man in his mind and in his wishes turns aside ever more into blind side directions

As a consequence of that there are at the same time always formed living connections with the threads which are woven by the Vaenen and which must also live themselves out in the coming influx of Light upon this earth, so as thereafter to collapse

A blind direction of development will not let the spirit further upon his path

The influx of Light will bring the collapse of all the unhealthy and secondary things which long lead the human spirit away from the development willed by God and strengthened by the helping and refreshing currents in the Subsequent Creation

Protected will remain only he who is not unhealthily dependent upon anything earthly and who inwardly maintains a living connection with the harmony of the starting point of the work of Creation, out of which he may draw for himself sufficient strengthening and joyful encouragement

This strengthening flows to man solely through such deeds as are carried out for others, for their help and their strengthening upon the path to the spiritual home

But here too many men grope and bear confusion within them, for they do not know how to recognise the rightness of their path

And withal it is so simple

If man goes through life perceiving, thinking and dealing so as to be helping to other men, supporting all their pure hopes, if he is ready to work and to create with an ardent wish to live joyfully with other men, then he has after all in his hand the surest rope which will lead him safely through all the events which now, in the effect of the Ray of Parzival, draw near to the earth

He does not even need to think about it particularly, if his inner being burns with an ardent guileless longing to help in the building up of a better world of men, that in everything the pure Light of the Spirit of God may be permitted to shine

Guilelessness, or in other words pure childlikeness, is, however, therein the essential condition, for it makes the sharp difference against the positive working which today still often appears outwardly almost similar, but which in many a case has for its goal only the satisfaction of personal conspicuousness or of personal assertion among men here upon earth

Where this volition of self-assertion is the chief power, there there is not enough of the needful purity, and when the time comes such endeavour must necessarily fall into destruction

In a pure insight into his inner being everyone can after all clearly behold what sounds through his inner being, what tones announce themselves in it, if he has within him the endeavour to help other men

The strongest tone is to be joy, pure enthusiasm, reverence towards others and also the capacity to rejoice at the successes of others

As against this, men who appear positive only outwardly in dissimulation, they, everywhere there where circumstances go against their interests, will at once begin to undermine and to harm, if they feel themselves endangered in their interests

They will attack without hesitation everywhere and it will be all one to them that they undermine and destroy much striving of their fellow men who endeavour for a better world

And precisely all this is deeply rooted in religions, in politics, in commerce and everywhere there, where men will at any cost to be visible themselves and to hear the echo of themselves and of their work, because within they strongly long for echo and for admiration

As against this, however, we fortunately find, beside these inwardly not good men, also the truly joyful and humble endeavour of many who have recognised that solely in wishing happiness to other men can they draw happiness for themselves through the Law of reciprocal working

Thus today it holds especially that when outwardly two do the same, it is not the same

Outwardly any work of man may appear great in its contribution for others, yet if the drive for it has its beginning in a personal longing to excel, it is not a service to God, but only a service to oneself and to one's own personal will to excel

If a man who wishes to distinguish good men from those who are not good goes more into the vibrations which lie behind all the outward doing of mankind, then he will clearly behold the threads of the Vaenen which extend from every man and carry exactly that shade of his inward volition

Men can with certainty learn to behold in which man there dwells true loving-kindness and where behind flowery words there hides an unhealthily rank personal goal

The threads of the Vaenen make it now, closely before the culminating influx of Light to the earth, more than evident for every man

It is as though above men, above every single man, there were depicted exactly that which his inner being mirrors

It is not even possible for the Vaenen to make it still more visible for the perceiving of men, for it is after all evident enough to everyone who only really wills to see it

It suffices to look with open, unbiased eyes

Everywhere there, where the Light dwells, we find even today peacefulness and peace with a pure creativeness

Conversely there, where the darkness dwells, there rankly grows the diseased endeavour to harm, by attacks and by defilement, all the peaceful endeavours of the men who strive for the Light

If someone will not behold it in all its simplicity, then it is a sign of his own immobility and of the sleep of his spirit

Everyone can now see where the threads of blessing stretch taut above man and where the connections tremble along which there will very soon come down out of the Light a sharp blow bringing a fall into a comfortless paralysis

Although the world today appears such that men still doubt whether anything of the kind can come, it is already flying through the universe and with every moment draws nearer to this earth

Let us remember: “He who lives by the sword”

In all moments we can apply it as a template for that which strives towards the Light and that which is far from the Light

In the end all that unfolds in the inner being of men will also become quite earthly manifest, so that outwardly, under the pressure of the Light, it may become evident for all, and thereby that everyone may become legible in his motives for others

No one will avoid it, no one will hide himself from it

Men pure in their inner being must welcome it with joy, for together with the judgment of God it brings the time when the events upon earth will be so ordered that before all who in their connection with the Light have kept their volition clear and free there will open a new age of spiritual liberation

As within, so without

Such is the demand which draws near to mankind and which will inexorably uncover all the coverings of the inward wishes of men

Billions of men will remain paralysed under this pressure, for they do not expect that anything of the kind will come to them so as to draw outwards their real wishes which pervade them every day

For the majority it will bring paralysis, for there will fall all the glittering things which the intellect learned to use in the knowledge of how easily one may deceive one's fellow men in words and in part also in deeds

That which hitherto sufficed the intellect for the concealing of the real motives will collapse, and the true volition will stand in full nakedness before other men

It will not be possible to stop it, for under the pressure of the Light men will themselves bring it about that they disclose their real wishes and motives

With peacefulness, then, he can observe the world development of today who is himself pure in his inner being and childlike and guileless in his wish for good

Yet there are not many such men upon earth

Predominantly we find men who wage within themselves a struggle for the victory of the Light in their inner being

These need with all their powers to raise themselves and to cleave to the genuineness of a volition of good towards other men all-embracingly, unconditionally

All the rest they may leave with trust to the Will of God, which now directly guides the hands of the high animistic ones, that these may manifest a pressure towards mankind such as has never been here in such power and persistence

The Vaenen, the faithful servants of the animistic kind, festively arrayed, welcome this happening, and their wish is the making visible of all that is found as the real core in the inner beings of men

Thereby there will be fulfilled the promise given them by the Lord, that their often so painful weaving will meet for them with a just compensation in every man, for thereby they too will be freed from the filth which hitherto they were compelled to weave into the threads of fate under the power of the will of impure men

No one will escape it, be he here or there

In the worlds of the finer materialities there has already been taking place for decades, measured by humanly earthly time, a sternly just sorting of all souls

Hosts of blessed souls rejoice at the purification which pervades the Subsequent Creation, so that under the guidance of Parzival there may be anchored for the new age in all spheres only a pure striving towards the Light and towards the Truth

In the worlds of the finer planes of materiality whole parts are collapsing and vanishing, where there dwelt hosts of dogmatic adherents of creeds and religions, of philosophies and of opinions of the most varied kind

In liveliness whole new parts of the ethereal spheres are being renewed, where souls already freed from all that is oppressive can unfold, longing for freedom and for their own independence, which the spark of the spiritual kind needs for its own strengthening and development

Through everything there pervades a single spirit of joyful creating, which seeks one single goal – the following of the Primordially Eternal Laws of Creation

Only the recognition of these Laws gives to the spiritual kind freedom and maturity for working, if in wise accord it builds and creates in harmony with these Laws

And precisely through these Laws the human spirit may rightly and reverently recognise the greatness of the Creator, the Holy God

Thus it is being transformed in all places, and everything in a strong movement develops joyfully towards the complete health-restoring of the Subsequent Creation, which under the direct working of the Will of God is being freed from the baneful echoes of the first stage of its continuance, in which the lukewarmness of the human spirits, intensified by the tempting principle of Lucifer, so banefully manifested itself

Down into the depths there plunges all that in rigidity hitherto set itself as an obstacle to the free ascent of the spirit towards the Light, towards God, to whom no religious rite can draw near, but only a pure human spirit filled with wisdom and with harmony

And this purifying happening will now come also to the earth, in order to sort through all that is found here

Only that which bears within it the bright radiant flame of a striving for spiritual purity, only that will find in the coming happening support and blessing

All the rest, which in its inner being has severed itself from God and pursues only its own goals, in the most varied motives and wishes, all that will be made manifest, so as immediately thereafter to be condemned and to perish

Whoever divines that before us lies a time of great ferment among men, he recognises it rightly

We ought, however, courageously to admit to ourselves that not even we ourselves will be exempted from it, and that upon each of us there will fall the pressure demanding the yielding up of the fruit of that by which we ourselves live

No one ought therefore to occupy himself with other men so long as he himself does not have within his inner being the purest brightness of a childlike guileless volition of good

That requires no little power, for to every human soul upon earth there clings a part of the slag of its own side wishes

He who is able to pass through everything and to stand in the pressure of the coming Light, he will then have within him no wish to attack his fellow men, but will only seek the ways towards a common harmony, which alone is the way appointed by God to the true spiritual home of men in the planes of the eternal Paradise
