The fully conscious spiritual streams

Of their existence not much that is more precise is as yet known among earthmen

It is strange withal, for men speak of them quite often

Many speak of these streams without having the slightest inkling of it

The spiritual streams are spoken of whenever the concept of Light is mentioned

When men speak of the Light, that is, when it is described how it works, how it maintains life, or how it helps in some happening towards a better outcome and benefit for the individual man or for the whole of mankind in its distress, then it is only in other words that the working of the fully conscious spiritual streams is being spoken of

The Light helps life, maintains it and gives it the fulfilment of the state of highest happiness and bliss

The concept of Light has naturally come to be used for all the beneficent working of the fully conscious spiritual streams

If, however, we reflect more upon the concept of Light, we shall find that men use this glorious word without in reality having a clear notion of what it is, what it brings, and what really takes place in its working

For the most part they connect with it something precious and full of promise

This especially for the ascent of man upon the path to the spiritual home

The Light is connected with all that bears within itself a strengthening of the presence of Good and of Love

It is therefore always connected with the nearness of God

The Light protects and strengthens every particle of life which strives to swing together with the Will of God in the Work of Creation

There is also often talk of ascent and of progress, which then lead such a life upwards towards the Light

All this shows how great a value this concept holds within itself

Nevertheless it is not comprehended how much is contained in it when the concept of Light is uttered by some man

Yet it is no riddle which should further remain an eternal secret for men who strive seriously after knowledge

The Light is the lasting working of consciously spiritual streams which bear within themselves the all-embracing wise starting-point for the happenings in all parts of the Work of Creation

Today we can go yet a stretch further and make clearer to ourselves that precisely the full consciousness of the spiritual streams, which need no animistic nor spiritual visible form, is shaped in part by the creative volition of the spiritual inhabitants of the Work of Creation, while at the same time the Spirit of God has been contained in these streams from the beginning

In reality it is precisely the Spirit of God which is the originating power contained in the conscious working of the spiritual streams, that is, as has already been said, of the Light

We can also put it thus, that the Light is the creating Spirit of God united with the joyful consciousness of all the pure and fully mature spiritual inhabitants of the Work of Creation who extol God

Therewith the concept of the Light at last receives, for many a man, the possibility of a better grasping in thought

Hitherto the Light has been a more or less ungraspable concept, into which men sought to bring their own notions, which then more or less approached reality

The Light is the creatively working streaming of the thoughts of God contained in the Spirit of God, to which the thoughts and wishes of the primordially spiritual and of the spiritual inhabitants of the Work of Creation have joined themselves

Although the Light has no concrete forms, it is through its effect present as strengthening and inspiration for all life in the Work of Creation

It is a radiant wafting and flowing of wisdom which is always helping, both the individual life and the whole

Here it is still necessary to pause at the concept of the Spirit of God, for men who possess some spiritual knowledge already surely know the concept of the Holy Spirit

Here then, all at once, there is the Spirit of God and the Holy Spirit

The Spirit of God is the streaming of the creating thoughts issuing from the Unsubstantiate of God the Father, which permanently vibrate through the Work of Creation

However swiftly, out of the creative Power of the thoughts of God, whole planes, spheres and islands containing a multitude of forms of life were formed from the beginning of the Work of Creation, it must be noted that with this great happening the creative power of the thoughts of the Almighty God was made use of only in part

A great part of the thoughts as yet has, in the present state of the Work of Creation, neither the need nor the conditions for a visible realisation

It therefore remains calmly in the streams of Light, which, through the gradual widening of the Work of Creation, were supplemented by the thoughts of the mature spiritual inhabitants of the Primordial Creation, and which bear within themselves a helping and permanently inspiring strengthening for everyone who in fervent supplication opens himself with his spirit towards the Light

For earthly human comprehension it is beyond imagining, if it is to be able to find for itself the content of the concept of a Thought of God

It is something too great, which surpasses the capacity of comprehension of the human spirit

He lacks for it the comprehension of the effect of creative power, and also of the vastness of all that is contained therein

The creative power presses forward and seeks ways for the support and protection of all that is to be found in the Work of Creation as self-conscious, and especially of that which out of unconsciousness is only developing towards full self-consciousness

For all that has been mentioned the concept of Light applies aptly

The thoughts of God are also in reality Light, for from God nothing can go forth but the purest radiation, of which the enlivening and all-brightening form of Light that we perceive is precisely the image

Beside the Spirit of God, which is therefore the streaming of the creative thoughts of God, there is also the Holy Spirit already recalled above

The Holy Spirit works from the beginning in the laws which form and maintain the Harmony manifesting itself everywhere

Harmony must permeate everything that has issued from the Spirit of God, so that one may speak of the perfect Justice of God, which takes effect in everything that in its arising came to life

For readers who reflect vividly it is evident from this that the Holy Spirit through its working is at the same time also of itself contained within the Spirit of God

The difference with the Spirit of God then lies in this, that it works forward in all arising and development

The Holy Spirit is then the Law of God, it is the maintainer of the balance of Justice and Love in the arising or already arisen Work

It may be said that the Spirit of God is the creating part and the Holy Spirit the maintaining part, which also guards all that has arisen and is arising out of the Spirit of God

Both parts are joined in a oneness which we recognise as the one Will of God

There is nothing that could proceed from God without its being a part of His perfect Will, which in its oneness resides in the Unsubstantiate Principle

There are therefore, springing forth out of the unsubstantiate radiation, the creating thoughts and the maintaining radiation, which, following upon the thoughts, holds the immediate administration of what has arisen out of them

Here we find yet one fundamental difference

And it is this, that the Holy Spirit, Imanuel, has a form and thus a shape, so that He may be designated a perceptible Personality of Divine origin, whose foundation is the unsubstantiate radiation of God the Father

Beside this there is the Spirit of God, which has no need of form, for it remains forever the creating Light

If from time to time a certain becoming visible, that is, a densification of the Light, is nevertheless to take place, then this always manifests itself in the form of a living equal-armed cross

Likewise the Holy Spirit Imanuel, as also the Son of God Jesus, always bear within themselves, as the confirmation of their origin, the living equal-armed cross, which is formed out of the essence of the radiation of the primordially eternal Principle of the Unsubstantiate of God the Father

The Light, which is otherwise that creating Spirit of God, will always bear within itself as a confirmation the form of the cross, which appears whenever it is needed

It has no other form, because it does not need one for its working

When therefore the helping spiritual streams, which bear within themselves the inspiring voice of all-wisdom, draw near to a man fervently calling for the help of God, then near to him there is also the degree of power flowing from the equal-armed cross of the Light and of the Truth

These streams then strengthen the good and draw to the man, through their homogeneous power, those beings and spiritual helpers who possess concrete forms and shape

They come, for they are called by the Spirit of God to that place where distress prevails, and therewith the need of help

At the fervent call for help of a human spirit who finds himself anywhere in the Subsequent Creation, there always descends to him first the Light, the Spirit of God, and only in its train do the helpers come, called by the Spirit of God to help in this or that particular matter

This sequence of events is so swift that men only seldom notice the order in which everything unfolds

Those who see usually observe a helper, or even several helpers, around them, whom a radiance of Light surrounds

The first upon the spot, however, is always the Spirit of God, along whose stream of radiation there descend to the one calling for help those who are called and sent by the Spirit of God as the most suited to the man concerned

Man experiences it in such a way that first, in answer to his fervent supplications, he is surrounded or enveloped by Light, and immediately thereafter he recognises in this Light the figures which draw near to him with counsel or with help

These helpers always help out of themselves only in part

They too draw the help which shows them counsel predominantly from the wisdom of the Spirit of God

This holds good also when a whole chain of helpers standing one above the other can be beheld

All of these, whether together or singly, at the degree of maturity at which they stand, draw counsel from the Spirit of God for the way out of the difficulties to which they were sent

It is all so very simple and natural that none of these helpers pauses over it, for they bear within themselves full trust in the help of God, and are therewith united in the closest possible manner with the Spirit of God which is around them

Just as earthmen through the attunement of their brain draw from the planes of thought situated around the earth, which seems to them a matter of course, in exactly the same way the spiritual inhabitants of the whole Work of Creation can draw from the wisdom of the Spirit of God

It is, however, something far more uplifting, and it also bears within itself a help a thousandfold more effective

It is therefore a certain indictment that this does not come about with earthmen, for here too there is always the opportunity for the Spirit of God to incline towards them as an inspiration bearing pictures for the development of events or for an act of urgent help

That this does not come about is the sad testimony that precisely around the earth all too few thoughts are nourished by men in which the longing for the Light dwells

There is no homogeneous vibration here, and therefore for earthmen the uniting with the Spirit of God is something so rare that one may speak of a wholly exceptional happening if it succeeds for someone here and there

If, however, the planes of thought situated around the earth were nourished by men in the first place with an all-embracing volition for good, then everything would gradually grow bright

The earth, together with the whole universe, could be drawn higher by this power of pure volition, and the connection with the Spirit of God would become more of a matter of course for earthly mankind also

It would be a following of the spirits working higher above, who in their trustfulness towards God experience the uniting with the streaming of the Spirit of God as a lasting state of blessing

It is even in place to recall sharply that transgression, that men have cut themselves off from these possibilities, for thereby they have caused and still cause harm to themselves and to all creatures, among whom belong the animistic servants, who together with the spiritually sleeping men must wade through the lifeless swamp that has arisen

It is therefore a great help that today, in the fulfilment of the purpose of the Spirit of God, its Light in union with the Holy Spirit draws near to the earth, so that through the influence coming from above the stifling gloom lying upon this earth may at last be torn asunder

In this help there is contained the spiritual enlightenment vibrating in advance, which is the long-announced preliminary stage of the Great Transformation that will follow immediately after, upon the unexpected irruption of the spiritual enlightenment of mankind

Both these parts are joined into a happening which men already know under the concept of the Divine Purification of the earth and the Judgment upon mankind

The spiritual enlightenment has already been proceeding from that hour when the knowledge of the Grail Message was brought to the earth by the Ray of Parzival through the earthly covering of Oskar Ernst Bernhardt, who became known as Abdrushin

The Grail Message brings through its radiation enlightenment and at the same time purification in the human recognition of God, freed from all the deposits which were created by distorted notions and expectations

Thereafter, through Abdrushin, following upon the Ray of Parzival, the Ray of the Holy Spirit Imanuel descended to the earth in order to bring into effect the strengthening of the working of the Laws of God, and therewith the Judgment upon mankind began

In this part we still find ourselves, and its development takes place in union with the Spirit of God, in which there now works the living effect of the Will of God the Father

The Spirit of God, bearing creative power within itself, determines the further development, which we may call the carrying through of the Great Transformation in all life on earth

Everything is now more and more condensed into one point which stands before mankind and which will contain a widespread spiritual enlightenment among men

At the same time it will also bring that Great Transformation which will follow in the footsteps of the enlightenment advancing before it

All this is now coming about almost simultaneously, and it penetrates into the strata surrounding the earth

It is therefore no accident that not a few men today feel a tension in their inner being and above them a hitherto unknown pressure

It is because, although in their day-consciousness men sleep, suspecting nothing, their conscience is every night struck, through the more loosened astral body and the soul, by the penetrating flashes of the Spirit of God united with the Holy Spirit

Men are therefore under the pressure of the Light, as it is generally said

The knowledge of all these happenings enables inwardly open men to become prepared for the coming events which in the following earthly years will without delay come to pass

The inner connection of those men who at that time will show themselves as perceiving the Spirit of God will then be prized by the rest of mankind as a gift from the heavens

This because the men mentioned will be able to show the way and also to mediate help to all those who find themselves in distress

The connection with the Spirit of God will, however, not come about through earthly study by way of the intellect, but solely in such a way that in man the spiritual spark comes wholly and so strongly to life that it becomes a radiant spiritual flame

The direct path to the enlivening of the spiritual spark is inner purity and the childlike simple will of the all-embracing volition for good, and all this permeated with the mature recognition of the Truth from the heights of the Grail

Only thus can the connection with the Spirit of God be established in man today, which through its all-wisdom may lead the individual and mankind out of all the perils that lie before us

The Light, the Spirit of God, is permanently accessible to everyone who with the fervent volition of his inner being presses through to it
