As has already been mentioned earlier, the most important thing for making possible the lasting existence of the human spirit in the state of bliss is his full consciousness of himself in complete harmonious connection with the rest of the life dwelling in the Work of Creation
In other words it is the capacity of the fully mature spirit in his swinging together with the Will of the Creator, which is permanently present in the happenings in all parts of the Work of Creation
This swinging together enables the spirit to share in the complete concord of all life
It leads to a degree of noble joy such as men on earth do not know in the least
It is the highest state of happiness for the spirit, when his mature consciousness of himself may vibrate in the highest sublimity together with the great Harmony of the Work of Creation
The consciousness of himself is the essence of the being of the human spirit, for it belongs to his task in Creation
In the measure of the maturity attained by this consciousness lies the key to the eternal duration of the humanly spiritual in the Work of Creation
It may also be said that in the fullness of consciousness, that is, in the highest purified consciousness gained through many repeated experiencings of the most varied kinds, lies that attainment of spiritual perfection which is so much sought after by many men
This consciousness precedes all else that belongs to life in Paradise
It forms the outward shape of the spirit in the spiritual worlds
The appearance and the form of the spiritual body take shape precisely through the mature consciousness of the human spirit
All that has been gained in experiencings is reflected in the most ennobled manner into the outward spiritual shape of every inhabitant of the blissful planes
But again, as with everything that takes place in the spiritual worlds, it is nothing that would be monotonous and rigid, as is the case with the earthly body, but rather the appearance reflects the immediacy of the present moment
Everything is living and changeable
There are many spirits who outwardly change in their appearance, together with that which they wish to express through their experiencing
At the same time, however, there are spirits who always remain the same, for the highest fulfilment of their personal consciousness is the longing to be in appearance such as they became upon attaining entry into the spiritual home
They rejoice in being those whom they always wished to be in the attainment of the most perfect symmetry and harmony, which through the radiation of their self-consciousness shapes the outward spiritual appearance
In the spiritual planes there is nothing that would be limited and fettered by pattern and rigidity, so long as it maintains concord with the Laws of Creation
And because the planes of the spiritual species are of an entirely different nature than the materialities of the Subsequent Creation, the liveliness and the mobility which apply to everything manifesting itself there must be pictured quite differently from here on earth
That highest translucent liveliness and mobility is precisely what wholly distinguishes the spiritual planes from all the material parts of Creation, for everything is a manifestation of the present moment
At the same time one must always proceed from the fact that everything is permanently imbued with the highest degree of splendour, which reflects within itself the great Harmony of the whole
In Paradise it is not the custom, as it is with men in the earthly world, for anyone to subject the appearance of his neighbour to critical examination
Although in the perfection of the beauty there everyone would stand the test, it does not come into question in the least that any of the spirits would concern himself with the reason for the appearance of any one of his companions
The Power of the Light present in the spiritual Paradise does not permit anything to arise that would disturb the Harmony, and to this belongs precisely that judging of the appearance of other men which is so customary on earth
Anything of the kind would at once have to be driven out beyond the boundaries of the spiritual
Because in the case of the created spirits everything develops within these boundaries, and because the developed human spirits maturing in the worlds of the Subsequent Creation must first attain through their development the radiance which admits them into the spiritual home, it does not come into question that such a violation of the Harmony which forms the conditions of those places of bliss could occur
It is only on earth that harmony is so often easily disturbed, for into the general attunement of all men there intrudes much immaturity of those souls who have not yet recognised how beneficial for the whole their own self-ennoblement is
Men devote themselves to judging and condemning others, and thereby lose the precious time bestowed upon them for their own development
Today we may say that in general mankind devotes more than half of its precious time on earth to judging all that in its opinion is bad and who is to blame for it
It is the lamentable result of the immaturity of men who do not wish to accept personal responsibility for their existence
In the end they go so far that for their own condition others are almost always to blame, whom they then accuse all the more because they themselves do not fare better
Upon this politics is founded today, just as is the social world of the present
The difference in kind of other men is taken as a reason for condemning them, which not seldom, when several men of like kind unite, leads even to the mass phenomenon of the persecution of victims
They are not aware that with this attitude they go against the beatitudes enumerated by Jesus, which, rightly comprehended, would serve them most beneficially for the ascent to the Light
Therefore it also becomes impossible in the end for many men to reach the more luminous worlds, because they occupy themselves too much with others instead of laying all their strength into their own ennoblement in the unfolding of their spiritual gifts and abilities
Many men are in danger of forgetting, on account of their continual judging of others, the mature purification of themselves, and thereby of making impossible for themselves the entry into places where a high degree of spiritual maturity is the condition, which manifests itself among other things in a freedom from judging other men according to their appearance
They will remain far from the gates of Paradise, and in the end, in the repeated cycle of their incarnations, they will perhaps even have to remain permanently caught in the material worlds, for they will not succeed in raising themselves higher towards the Light
Through failing to polish their own capacities of intuitive perception they finally form for themselves the obstacle to the attainment of full consciousness
Thereby, among other things, the comprehension will remain forever far from them that the visible beauty of the human spirit is formed solely through the maturity of the consciousness which always presses from the core outwards
Thus they themselves shut themselves out from the possibility of experiencing bliss and happiness in the spiritual homeland
All that is experienced in the spiritual planes always takes place under circumstances in which it contains within itself and upon itself only beauty in its perfect form
Any transformations of the spiritual appearance are always only supremely beautiful forms
Despite the inexhaustibility of the greater and lesser transformations of the outward spiritual appearance, which reflects within itself the inner state of consciousness, the spirit remains most beautiful and symmetrical in his aspect, just as the Light and Harmony manifesting themselves everywhere determine
This again is something scarcely conceivable for the imagination of the earthly species, where even the highest endeavour to picture spiritual beauty in its transformations strikes against boundaries which are formed by the thought-work of the brain
Within these boundaries the comprehension of something so translucently living as the very essence of the spiritual worlds can hardly be attained
Thus earthman remains only within the narrow limits of the comprehension of such concepts as beauty, bliss, harmony
Here on earth he will never be able to draw near to them in such a degree as is naturally possible in the planes of spiritual origin
Only in distant flashes may he sense a little of it intuitively, and perhaps in part also capture it as imprints of luminous pictures
In reworking these pictures for further retelling, however, the brain will always in the end be compelled to draw everything down by many degrees before it can at last clothe what has been experienced in words or in an expression of some artistic kind
In the end, despite a certain gladdening contained in it, it will again remain for the most part only a rigid capturing of a single moment, whereas it is the enduring of liveliness that would first lend the picture an approach to the true splendour of the spiritual worlds
Earthly forms, despite all the endeavour of future artists who will yet discover ways of expressing beauty and harmony in various forms of art of which there is no knowledge on earth today, will always contain a necessary rigidity, which will lead only to a divining of the true condition prevailing in the translucent planes of the spiritual home
It will, however, in itself already be a strong encouragement for all the striving of men to summon from themselves every effort towards the fulfilment of the longing one day really to attain those planes of Light
Thereby the inward intuitive perceiving in man will be continually strengthened to that degree of liveliness of consciousness which today still lags far behind where it should in reality already have been
The ardent intuitive perception in the inner being of man is precisely that consciousness of the spirit which needs to be continually strengthened and unfolded towards the highest degree of nobility of character
Through the striving after self-ennoblement the inward spiritual consciousness in man grows stronger, which in its essence is that radiant power which forms the human spirit
It is therefore possible to say that the spirit is “existing through his self-consciousness” in connection with all else that is to be found in the Work of Creation
Only this “consciousness of himself”, strengthened by the multitude of experiencings of the most varied moments upon the path of maturing, joins the spirit's own awareness, which is a “name” inscribed in the book of Life, with all else in the highest degree of harmony
And out of the measure of the ennoblement of the consciousness of himself is formed that radiation which creates for the spirit his spiritual body, his raiment and his whole appearance
In part it is a self-acting happening, especially at the beginning of the development of the humanly spiritual spark, which is the very germ of consciousness, but gradually, in the further development upon the path of maturing, there manifests itself in the forming of the appearance of the human spirit the strength of his longing for the nearness of the Light, which may be called mature self-ennoblement
The spiritual consciousness in itself would need no covering, for it would feel fulfilled in being permitted to rejoice continually in the wholeness of the Universe of God, yet in the human spirit himself there dwells the condition laid into him from the beginning of manifesting his being outwardly, and this leads naturally to the forming of an appearance as the means for the fulfilment of the mentioned condition
The human spirit unfolds out of a germ, or in other words out of a spiritual spark
His beginning therefore has the same foundation as with all the other inhabitants of the Work of Creation who are self-conscious in connection with manifesting themselves in outward forms
Beside the human spirits, however, there are also throughout the whole Primordial Creation spiritual streams which consist of a glorious high spiritual consciousness that has never needed to become visible in order to be able to rejoice and delight in the possibility of “being permitted to extol the Creator”
This high spiritual consciousness interpenetrates all the planes and, like a quiet sound, fills all places omnipresently with its knowledge, being for all life an inexhaustible source of primordial wisdom
Spiritual streams of the mentioned kind need no outward coverings, being at the same time in significant measure the shapers of the mentioned Harmony throughout the whole Work of Creation, for in them dwells the connection with the omnipresent All-Wisdom of God
It is a new portion of knowledge which by a further small degree again opens up the breadth of the outlook upon the greatness and the manifoldness of all life in the work of Creation
With the mention of the existence of a spiritual consciousness that needs no enveloping in a covering in order to gain a visible appearance we come again a stretch further to a level of knowledge where the earthly learning of the human species strikes against something that will at first be hard to accept, because sufficient concepts for it are still lacking
It is therefore necessary at the outset to speak of the interweaving of the spiritual streams through the Work of Creation, which, however much they contain within themselves wisdom of the very highest kind, have no outward coverings and remain forever only an invisible co-creative part of Creation, and which through their working are a reflection of the Spirit of God
They also bear a part of the Spirit of God within themselves
The Spirit of God is thus present in the Work of Creation in the form of a wafting, as a part of an independent kind of spiritual consciousness which finds its fulfilment at the level of a silent all-wisdom
Thereby this consciousness is a help to all happening, without needing for that a covering to become visible
It may best be called a wisdom resting in a golden radiance which permeates all parts of the Primordial Creation
For their consciousness these spiritual streams need no covering, that is, no becoming visible
There dwells in them yet another kind of the spiritual
This enables these streams to work without outward forms, without its limiting them in their state of continual blissful extolling of the Creator
They are primordially eternal spiritual streams, from which everything that was urged towards becoming visible gradually separated itself, in order to arise for its working in the complete Harmony of the Work of Creation upon all its degrees of cooling
Now we here have a further outlook upon the whole concept of the spiritual
Beside all that is spiritually visible in the Work of Creation there is therefore also a kind of spiritual consciousness which has never needed any manifestations for becoming visible in order to fulfil its precious task, which consists in the silent penetration of all the planes for the purpose of helping to form the complete Harmony in Creation
All self-conscious spirits who possess their outward spiritual form can be connected with these conscious streams and may continually draw new knowledge from them, for it is precisely these streams that are the never-exhaustible bearers of inspirations bearing witness to the greatness of the Creator
The difference between the two mentioned kinds of spiritual consciousness lies in this, that the first is independent of forms in order to find itself filled with bliss in its all-embracing vibration, while the second needs the outward expression of forms both for itself and for the perceiving and comprehending of all else that has arisen as a visible part of the Work of Creation
The first needs no visible forms for its extolling of the Creator, because it continually experiences the Holiness of God the Father within itself
The second, in its spiritually animistic foundation, needs to have outward forms, and this for the perceiving of the perfection which lies in the outward radiation of the creative Power of God upon all planes of the Work of Creation
The human spirit belongs by his origin to the second consciousness, which as spiritually animistic needs outward forms, and which for the awareness of himself also needs to have his name, which is a part of his consciousness
This makes him forever working upon that level which is visible, which therefore has outward forms of living radiation
In a certain manner the mature human spirit may be connected with that consciousness which needs no outward forms, so as to swing together with it and also to draw from it for his own recognition the knowledge of the Creator, which is unbounded and can be continually widened
Only high in the spiritual planes may men who in the ripening of their full self-consciousness enter into the gardens of Paradise wholly perceive something of what is here described
Only in blissful experiencing in the luminous planes will the human spirit one day fully live through that connection which is granted him there with the all-embracing consciousness that permanently vibrates through those places
It will be for him a new strengthening in the comprehension of how great and all-embracing the Work of God is, which at the bidding of the Love of God could become a place of active life that arose to its consciousness only in the far distances beyond the gates of the Castle of the Grail, which stands in the realm of the Divinely animistic
It is a great loss for the earthly world that men do not occupy themselves at least in part with these outlooks already today, for in the striving to attune themselves to the heights of Creation strengthening inspirations could come, which rightly grasped would lead solely and only to the ennoblement of human life here on earth
Also at the time of the influx of the Power, at that hour when in the most sacred place of the Castle of the Grail the fulfilment takes place in the happening of the appearing of the Holy Dove above the Vessel of the Grail, it is precisely the spiritually conscious streams that carry the pictorial tidings of this happening through the whole Work of Creation
If men on earth were to strive after connection with these conscious streams of the spiritual kind, they would be permitted to sense intuitively far more strongly all that is bound up with these lofty happenings
To the earth there would come many glorious inspirations of which today there is not the slightest inkling
Great pictures filled with the highest life, which convey moments of the most sublime experiencing high in the planes of the Primordial Creation, would be permitted to be captured through earthly artists and passed on to other earthmen
The Spirit of God wafts in those moments through the mentioned streams which, in an awareness as yet unrecognised on earth, extend through Creation in order to convey all that is important for the life of the inhabitants of the spiritually animistic kind, to which the human spirit belongs by his origin
The uniting with these blessed streams is a great task of men, if they wish one day to become fully and worthily conscious
Through these streams the Spirit of God draws near in the form of the all-wise knowledge of the Truth
It bears within itself the tidings of the beginning, of the present, and also the intimation of the further development, willed by God, of all happening in the Work of Creation
In these spiritual streams rests the past from the very beginning of the arising of the primordially originated forms of life in Creation
And precisely at the time of the renewal of the influx of the grace-filled Power of God in the Castle of the Grail there descend together with this Power also the streams of the Spirit of God
Today men do not yet rightly recognise this concept, for in its content it is too remote for them
But in reality it is the simplest thing that man can recognise
In the conscious spiritual streams which penetrate Creation the Spirit of God is contained as a creative inspiration, from which the animistic draws, and from which, if it so willed, the humanly spiritual could also draw
The condition for it is an openness which rests upon the pure childlikeness of a trustful attunement towards God
Everything else then comes about of itself
Naturally in proportion to the mentioned purity and childlikeness, which in this needs to be the foundation for any uniting
The disciples of Jesus, who had gathered at the time of the outpouring of the Power of the Holy Spirit, bore within themselves, in their thoughts upon the promise of their Master at the last supper, when He told them that He would send them the Comforter, the very best soil for the reception of the streams bearing within themselves a part of the Spirit of God, which, like an intensified stream of light, were able to descend to them and in part to unite with them, in order to grant them the capacities needed for their further working on earth
The conscious streams bearing the Spirit of God within themselves can unite with everyone who opens himself to them in the humility of his inner being
