Man, in his spiritual nature, is destined to the lasting unfolding of noble faculties

It may even be said that this development holds good for man as the great condition of the promise of lasting existence for his inner spiritual nature in the living work of Creation

The fulfilment of the task of the spark of the spirit in its highest radiant clarity and mobility is the fulfilling of the condition through which the human spirit received the possibility of beginning his path of development towards eternal blissful existence in Creation

Movement is the abiding law for the preservation of man in life

Where this movement is, there change also takes place in man and upon man

Change is therefore an inseparable part of the movement and development of each one of us

The right development of the progress of man, as a humanly spiritual inhabitant of Creation, is to proceed from the promptings of his inner being, from the spiritual liveliness of his intuitive perception

The mobility which this development brings lies in the unceasing ennobling change which manifests itself in the direction from within outwards

The real movement of the spirit and the true ennobling of its intuitive perceptions must unfold from the inner volition, which then also naturally asserts itself outwardly in thinking and in acting

And precisely in this lies for many a man a great pitfall, for the greater part of mankind waits for incoming outward promptings, in order only upon the ground of their influence to stir themselves to a movement forward in their inner being

That is the reverse of the procedure which is expected of man from the Light

The will of the inner volition has grown weak and sinks continually into ever greater immobility

It has even gone so far that the mere waiting for a change of outward conditions is already held to be progress, and men who speak of awaiting the coming time of great changes are held to be very advanced, are held to be those who are spiritually ahead of others

In their expectation a great change is looked for, bringing a fundamental turn in the order of things as it has been until now in the present course of events, when the Will of God with its almighty power will intervene in the present inharmonious running of the earthly world

This change is urgently awaited, and more than one man fastens his outlook upon it, rejoices in it, and extols every small sign confirming its beginning with satisfaction towards those who until then mocked him when he described the oncoming changes in the course of things

Many good-natured men await impatiently the coming of the change and look about them in the hope that perhaps at last someone will come also in an earthly body who will help to bring this change more into the light of this world here

A change is awaited, brought about by a helper sent from the Light, who will direct everything towards a new, purer and more modest thinking and acting of men here on earth

Impatiently that change is looked for which is to be called forth by this strong helper, and which, according to their reasoning, is to bring reverence and humility of the earthly world of men before the lawful manifestations of the Will of God in Creation

This course of thinking we may, however, call wrong in the highest degree, for to the Light now in the time of the Holy Judgment one thing alone is decisive – the inner state of each individual, arising out of his free volition

Only behind this inner being of the individual, which in the accelerated effects of the Law of Reciprocal Action is judged upon its deeds, will the development of society as a whole follow

The real advance of a new, spiritually enlightened striving of men on earth cannot unfold upon the old, herd-like principle of human thinking, as many would picture to themselves that this principle would be applied in the manner of the setting up of some regime

The volition to enter upon the spiritual path can never be forced from without, for free will in deciding ever remains here

Free will is the most precious thing through which man can prove himself to be of value, if he uses this will of himself for good and pure volition

The acceptance of the path to God out of fear or out of calculation never had permanence, and therewith also no value

Many expect that if someone were to order the earthly conditions of life according to God's Laws, they themselves, together with many others, would range themselves within them with joyful welcome

The evil and the bad will, so they think, be blown away, and the good will experience only joy in a life ordered according to the principles of God's Laws

How can they be certain that they themselves would not strike against and grievously wound themselves daily upon their own faults, arising from the fact that their inner being would in some intuitive perceiving lag behind the outward changes already at work

Men who expect that someone will come who will do for them the greatest part of that work which they alone and solely must do themselves must now move forward in their reasoning

The most important thing must be changed by each man himself

The awaited change needs to come solely through the purified intuitive perception in every man

That alone has now value for the Light and for the Will of God, and it needs at last to be manifested outwardly also in earthly life through the volition of man out of his intuitively perceiving inner being

No other change exists, if it is to be held for a trustworthy change

This change needs to show itself as the visible expression of the free avowal of the individual man to the Light in the place where he lives, in the conditions which surround him as the result of his volition hitherto

Out of these conditions he is himself to arise as one inwardly and outwardly liberated, mature and wise

It is the most important thing in the life of every one of men

For this change it is not fitting for man to wait a moment longer, but it is here the highest time to bring it to fulfilment

Men cannot lay claim to an outward change for their further course here on earth so long as they have not wrought this fundamental transformation within themselves

Such is the ordering of the truly wise help of God to men in the present time

Everything needful men have received from the Light

Every helper truly sent from the Light will help only those who first exert all their powers for the change of themselves to the better

Now, therefore, it is the turn of the step of man, that he may prove how he esteems the Message from the Heights of Light, from the Grail, how he values it above all else

He needs to carry into deed the knowledge gained, which was permitted to come to him as help full of grace upon his path

He who waits for great outward happenings will in the end not manage to bring about the changes within himself and upon himself, because he is not yet aware in how many places these must come to pass before it can be said that he himself has passed through a complete change and that this change has become the new possession of his spirit

The awakening of the spirit and the turning of the direction of volition, wherein the pure and clear motives of the inner being are to be the sole guiding impulses for the acting of man in everyday life – that is now the work which needs to be brought into deed by every one of men who longs to avow himself, in his knowledge of the Holy Word, to the Circles of the Peaceful

The Circles of the Peaceful are now to devote all the strength of their volition to this change upon themselves, as to the most important work of the spirit

With the fulfilment of this change there will at last naturally be formed the soil upon which the great working of the High animistic servants can join itself, who already have everything in movement and whose pressure is already very well perceptible to everyone who does but look well about him

Everywhere we look everything is in movement, and this movement is the clear forerunner of the oncoming great changes

Every day we may behold ever new confirmations of the announced culmination of the frenzied time of mankind on earth

But there is here the urgent question, where are the changes with those men who have the knowledge and know the way

Nowhere are they to be seen more markedly

Only isolated islets of movement and of life can be beheld, as praiseworthy exceptions amid the general confusion

That which should already have been a joyful fulfilling of the Will of the Light in the life of man is with the majority rather like a wrestling and a convulsive struggle

In comparison with the fulfilling of the animistic servants, faithfully accomplishing their mission in the service of Parzival, the approach of earthly men to the change upon themselves is very hesitant, irresolute

He who waits with his volition for change towards the pure, humble expression of his spirit in life until the time when all things will be plunging in the collapse of the social order has understood nothing of all the calls from the spiritual heights

Now the announced time of the highest changes is here

Not, however, of those changes in which some loudly demand change of others, but of changes which concern solely the real spiritual awakening in the inner being of man

The spirit must now show itself as the leading power in man and carry through the changes which will bring its dominion over the other earthly instruments which it has for use in life here on earth

The spirit needs at last to hold dominion over feeling and over the intellect, over its bodily senses, its thoughts and all its acting

This it will attain only through the highest striving for the dominion of pure volition, for the dominion of harmony and of a wise, kindly approach to other men and to the whole world

That is the most important change which we need to accomplish

There is not the least reason to hesitate even for a moment, for hand in hand with this change go true liberation, ascent, healing and inward happiness

Change of this kind is the task of the present days

In the concentration of his powers upon this change man is therefore to rise up and to lie down

It is the first thing which is to fill him, everything else comes only after it, for everything else unfolds out of this fundamental, newly ordered soil within

The change lies in the entering upon the dominion of the spirit in man

Step by little step the dominion of the spiritual pure volition is to become that which truly holds power over everything in man

Everything around him is made ready for this change

Countless helping threads full of love around each one of us wait until we, in comprehension, step forth to this work upon ourselves and at last let the nobility of character and the greatness of our inner being show themselves in all our acting

To manifest the greatness of one's spirit is the art of true life, and it demands a lasting mobility of the intuitive perception together with the wise recognition of the Will of God

Therein an unceasing development is to be perceived

Around everyone who in honest volition carries through the change in the ordering of the will of his spirit, so that this may be clearly preponderant, around such an honourable spirit there stands a whole host of helpers who now in this time mediate all the threads of help towards the victory of the intuitive perception over the intellectuality in man

In this respect everyone is to be filled with trust in these helps, and is to give himself wholly in confidence to his pure volition

Pure volition filled with trust in the wise helps flowing out of the Love of God is a part of the change which needs to come in man to lasting victory

With lightness may every one stride towards this fulfilment of the change within himself

There will spread within him a peace such as he has not known hitherto

Together with this he will find the courage to forgive all that he experienced as painful with other men

He will look upon all his fellow men only as fellow wanderers on the great spiritual path, which by some is experienced more consciously and by some less consciously

To forgive the unknowing and to help those who partly recognise the way, and also those who seriously seek the meaning of their existence, will become for him a natural need in the change that has come to pass within him

He will be joyful, and his life will gain a new dimension, a new richness of colour and beauty

He will discover that this change was the most precious thing which he could experience in this life

The change wherein the spirit within takes over the dominion in his life fully and lastingly will also become the moment in which he draws near to God

As with the drawing back of a bolt an outlook will be uncovered for him which will surround him forever with rays of Light, and he will give thanks with words extolling the Creator

Those who avow themselves to the Circles of the Peaceful are now to concern themselves wholly with changes

The greatest of all changes is that exchange of the dominion in the ordering of their life

The dominion in their own deciding and volition, wherein once and for all it is to be the spiritual greatness striving towards a pure, harmonious working in every hour of life that arises and becomes the strongest determiner of the way of life

Let us not wait for a change from without, which we must ourselves bring about from within outwards

This change no one else can bring about save man himself

This change will also in the end change the whole world, for the power lying within it will break a path for others also

That is the change which each one of us needs to bring about, the change which God rightly expects of earthly man
