An Enlightenment Draws Near to the Earth Which Will Change All the Previous Thinking and Acting of Mankind

Earthly mankind now stands close before a great period of significant discoveries which will change the previous direction of all thinking and acting

The discoveries will be able to come thanks to a release from the long-standing rigidity of the intellect, which until now did not permit man to raise himself higher in his reflection, towards the knowledge of the finer stages of happenings, which are subject to the effects of the Laws of Creation exactly as gross matter itself is

The Light begins to penetrate into the world of human thought, so that all existing dogmas may be washed away and thereby a great liberation granted to many in their recognition of the true meaning of life

The knowledge will take shape precisely as those rediscovered laws, which at the same time will in their strengthening swiftly and visibly confirm themselves, so as in the end gradually to become the basic starting point for all people who remain upon the Earth

It will therefore be so, that after the new knowledge has been described there will come to men immediately the experience which confirms this knowledge to them

Thereby the way will open for many people who still hesitate, for it will come through penetrating and unquestionable experiences

The change will bring enlightenment to many people

Many people now expect change and progress for their life on Earth in this, that the spiritual will one day be held equal in worth with all else that is important for men here in matter

Therein lies, for many people who occupy themselves with thoughts of all that is spiritual, that longingly awaited change

But that is only an insufficient particle compared with what is in reality to come about

The coming change will be of a far stronger kind

It will bring a far greater turn than one which would consist in the fulfilment of the wish of men that the spiritual be accepted as equal in worth with the earthly

The approaching change is truly a great one, for its essence is not the fulfilment of narrowly bounded human expectations, but the manifesting of the Truth out of the Divine

Therein lies the fundamental difference, because with the spreading of the Truth from God over the whole Earth there will immediately set in an unprecedentedly swift and at the same time, in its extent, surprisingly great development in all happening

In this drawing near of the Truth to the broad multitudes of men that knowledge will become significant, that the spiritual in man is the most important and the most precious before all else, and this precisely here on Earth as well, for the spiritual precedes everything material

The spiritual stands before the earthly

Although many people do not yet see any essential difference in this statement, it is precisely therein that the very important basic change rests

With most people the understanding of this change will come only with the anchoring in thought of this revolutionary advance within the general reflection of men

Upon the ground of the world of thought, therefore, beside the primarily inward spiritual working, stands a great part of the present task of those called by the Light for the coming of a more luminous and better world of men

It is something very fundamental for the understanding

The radiation out of the spiritual inner being of man is the determining one

All else is subject to following this radiated spiritual determination

The inwardly spiritual radiation is truly that which subsequently forms the essence of all happenings in matter, which men today call earthly events

It matters not whether it concerns earthly events upon the personal plane of the individual, or upon the wider plane of society as a whole, or whether it concerns happenings in nature, or even phenomena coming to the Earth out of the unsurveyable distances of the universe

All this reflects within it, as one single feature, the radiation of the spiritual inner being of men

The spiritual is therein therefore primarily determining, and this upon all planes which come into the way of its being throughout the whole Subsequent Creation

Part of this Subsequent Creation are naturally all the stages of the materialities

Thus in the end inseparably also the gross matter of this earthly world

What therefore rests in this picture is a fundamental change in the understanding of all happenings for the whole of mankind

That which until now was not demonstrable upon the Earth, because it remained hidden from earthly eyes covered with scales, will imperceptibly become part of the immediate experiencing of the present time for every human being

And therein rests that enlightenment which still hovers above men, but which will come before long

The new knowledge and the enlightenment bound up with it fly out of the Light, so as soon to become something which, once accepted, will become a new part of the advanced thinking and experiencing of men

It is the enlightenment long since promised from the heights of Creation, which draws near to many people without their yet having any inkling of it in their earthly bodies

That today nothing essential yet points to the nearness of this penetrating change in the course of the coming world events at this stage of development means nothing

This stage of the new knowledge is already coming

With a peaceful gaze the present chaos and tension can be observed by him who already today beholds in the near prospect the fundamental changes drawing closer

The change draws near and takes shape under the hands of the animistic servants for its becoming visible in the material

In this change the present confusion will swiftly become the past, so as to release all the living space upon the Earth for a peaceful and peace-filled order which is an inseparable part of the great Harmony of the work of Creation

But so that all this may come to pass, great transformations must first take place in human reflection as it has been hitherto, which at the beginning will bring a great pressure upon all men

These happenings of transformation now press towards the Earth with unshakable certainty, to show themselves as inspirations and discoveries far surpassing all the findings of men hitherto, among which belong for instance those historic findings about the roundness of the Earth and its circling around the sun, as well as the findings brought by the discoveries of the telescope and the microscope, or the discoveries of radio radiation and many more besides

It will come to liberate and at the same time to strike the very centre of all evil, which rests in the comfortable ease of general human thinking hitherto

Struck will be all the present rigid crusts of dogmatic opinions, in which above all the materialistic view of life adopted by men has grown rank

Materialism, as the product of the intellect, lies spread over the whole Earth like a motionless dragon clutching in its cold claws the treasure of the human spirit

And this all-encircling dragon of thought will now be struck by the sharp gleam of the Luminous spear at its most painful place, that is, in the recognition that in reality it is not at all the most important thing, as has been supposed among men until now

Astounded and horrified by the nearness of the Ray of Parzival, the dragon will raise its head in the attempt to deny all that proceeds from the Truth

For the last time it will seek to hold the spiritual in man in unfreedom by striving with all its power to deny the inner essence of the spirit

But it will be only a short time, for out of the Light everything is now so prepared that immediately thereafter the dragon, its emptiness laid bare, will collapse into itself

Together with it will fall all the ramparts of thought hitherto which gave the shade under which much low and superficial volition, now ruling in men, has run riot

In the roar of these falling ramparts all that has until now oppressed and stifled the good and the purity in many Light-seeking people upon this Earth will die away

The victorious knowledge of the Truth, sent down by God for the rescue of many people, will imperceptibly come alive in their thoughts, where until now, as it appeared, there was with most of them no room for this Truth

Suddenly, however, it will be clear, comprehensible so strongly and so distinctly that many will marvel at it, how it is possible that they did not see it before

The great knowledge of the work of Creation, of the Creator and of the spiritual essence of man will penetrate there where until now it was crowded out by the material kind of thinking of most people upon this Earth

But then all that is human which today still considers itself knowing will fall silent, and much of what is even today set forth as the fruit of listening to the Will of God in Creation will be shown to be wrong

It will be shown that hardly anything holds good of that which men regard as the possession of their knowledge about life, for the Truth of God is other than is generally supposed

It will be shown that everything is in reality the vibrating radiation of finer powers which are in the highest degree so living a happening that in the end nothing else is possible even for matter than that it too should always follow this basic radiation, like the peal of thunder which in its own manner of sound manifests afterwards the preceding flash of lightning

Even though it does so only with difficulty and with delay, in the end every finer vibration must manifest itself in the visible world, whether in full power or only symbolically

Thus exactly as it is with the lightning and the thunder that accompanies it, so, with a delay many times greater still, is everything material formed which arises as the consequence of the preceding influence of the finer stages of radiation working vitally in the work of Creation

It is formed with delay, it is true, but it is formed with certainty down to the last particle

We are already not far from this knowledge, which holds within it for mankind a worth many times surpassing all knowledge hitherto

At last it will be here, clearly and easily comprehensible for everyone as it never was before

This because a starting foundation for it will be helpfully formed in the world of thought

By the fact that it is written of today, the starting point for a change of knowledge is thereby formed, out of which will arise a great all-refreshing penetration of thoughts which bear within them an easing for men here upon the Earth to draw closer to the spiritual

As has already been mentioned several times upon the pages of the Way of the Grail, everything is at its foundation radiation

Even the very essence of the human spirit is an intersection of many preceding severings from the original unified radiation descending out of the Divine, which within the work of Creation, in its growing distance, at last became also of the spiritual kind

Humanly spiritual means in reality “The very many particles of living, yet still not self-conscious spiritual Light, clustered into a single intersection, in which, thanks to the blessings of God inclining downwards, to vibration and to the urge towards life, the spiritual spark may subsequently blaze forth miraculously as the foundation of the spiritual consciousness of man”

That is the humanly spiritual kind – the spiritual spark

That is the beginning of the spiritual being of every human spirit

That is the fundamental essence of each one of us human beings

Man is therefore in his essence a spiritual radiating light – he is a magnitude which, through its vibrating urge towards life, was subsequently permitted to separate itself from the rest of the spiritually unconscious, so as to become an independent spiritual spark

And this radiation he may strengthen within himself, develop and ripen in all his experiences, so that one day it may at last become an abidingly self-conscious and blessed part of the whole work of Creation in that place which by its nature is the spark's own home in the spiritual plane, which is the promised Paradise of human spirits

The most proper manifestation of the spiritual spark is therefore precisely the ability to radiate

That spark, like an optical lens, receives into itself the radiation from the heights of the Fount of God in Creation, and in its ability to radiate it passes the received radiation onward and imprints its uniqueness upon it

Out of this natural and supremely glorious happening the spiritual consciousness of the spark arises

By its very nature the spark continually sends out into the surrounding space its unique kind, like a composition of millions of shades in a wholly exceptional combination, which accordingly makes the spark unmistakable

This radiation is that often mentioned name inscribed in the great Book of Life, which the Judge holds in His hands

By this radiation the spark is also always and under all circumstances recognisable and traceable, at whatever place in Creation it might find itself

It is a unique kind of radiation which the spark bears within itself and by which it is also always knowable to the All-Wisdom of the Creator

Its kind of radiation is held through the threads in the hands of the Steward of the Grail appointed by God the Father at the summit of the work of Creation – Parzival

No creature can release itself from this connection determined by God, nor from the ruling influence of Parzival, however much it might suppose otherwise

It is always a part of the work of Creation, out of which it can never step, for Creation is its place, where alone it can live and work

But now back again

That radiation, through the diversity of the stirrings taking place in the spark, always creates a trace of woven threads in which it is given to the spark, and subsequently through the coverings to the soul or to the earthly man, to move and also to live for a time

The present issues from the preceding exactly as men know it from the wisdom that the one proceeds from the other

The radiation influenced by the stirrings in the spark forms a trace out of which the future is at the same time woven

All of this the tireless hands of the animistic servants, appointed thereto in Creation as the fashioners of the conditions of life, weave and work into its final manifestation

The radiation of the spark is the very first thing connected with the spiritual essence of man

Intuitive perception itself, which is often mentioned as the most precious and most inward thing in man, is an echo standing only after the radiating of the spark

In its delicate vibration we may call it the voice of the inner being

And it is truly so, that just as the vocal cords of the earthly body stand only after the will of the brain and of the nerves which carry the command to the resonating of the muscle of the vocal cords, so also is intuitive perception the consequence of the inward will of the spark of the spirit

And the will of the spark is always in its essence that radiation of which we have spoken

Radiation is therefore, for the path of the human spirit and thus also of man in the earthly body, that which is his most proper activity or work, and which binds him most strongly to the work of Creation

All that stands behind it, that is, intuiting, thinking and acting, is only a more or less skilful reflection of the basic will of the spark

Here someone may say to himself that in fact this is nothing new to him, that he knows it all in essence, or has heard a little of it, or has already thought about it at some time

Yes, that is possible, and it is well if it is so

Yet there is with this knowledge something important which, for all such acquaintance, is overlooked

That is the realisation of the basic essence of human origin

The radiation out of which the spiritual spark proceeds was and always is pure, for it is connected through a bridging with its starting point, that is, with the Creator

Thus it bears within it, in whatever unique constitution and under all circumstances, the fundamental ability to sound in accord with the radiance of that great Harmony of the Universe

This Harmony is, in other words, the Will of God in Creation, for the Will of God always and solely creates the accord and the concord of all life in Creation

In the spiritual spark, therefore, as its very essence, lies the ability to know and to experience the Harmony in the work of Creation, or in other words to recognise and to sound in accord with the Will of God in Creation at any place whatsoever

Concord and accord can set in only when the radiation which issues from the spark into the surrounding space bears within it the vibration of the fullness of peace of an all-embracing weaving of good

All else is a turning away from this basic ability, however much the surrounding outer conditions may require more effort for it, which is a property of the materialities of the Subsequent Creation

By overcoming this effort to maintain an abiding disposition towards good and harmony the spark grows strong and ripens in wisdom, for thereby it learns to use the gift which it possesses, which is free will

The foundation for the bettering of everything in man and around him is therefore the inner pure will of an all-embracing striving for good and for harmony with all that is to be found around man

It is therefore not a striving towards something unknown standing outside of man when it is said that he should endeavour to be good, but it is a reminder of that which is most fundamental, for which every human being has within himself the best ability in his essence as a spiritual spark

Everyone therefore has within himself the possibility of becoming very swiftly a purely radiating, good and peace-filled spirit who maintains in everything the accord with the Harmony of the whole of Creation, if only he wills it so

Everyone has the ability for it within himself

The judge too, who holds in His hands the threads of the fates of individuals, knows exactly how man, or the spiritual spark within him, uses this foundation

Out of such a man, in whom the volition for good has not come alive, there always issues an accusing radiation which carries within it disharmony and thereby the tendency towards destruction

Thereby it is comprehensible that the so often mentioned Judgment of God rests upon the very simplest foundation, resting solely and exclusively in the radiation of the inner being of man

Aside stand all such matters as political opinions and adherence to this or that view of life

Decisive is that inner radiation which, if it is pure and fervent enough and thus in accord with the whole Harmony of the work of Creation, will now be liberated and led to progress in its comprehension of the connections

Where there is openness towards the Light, there is the way, at whatever degree of maturity it may begin

Therein also lies the answer to the questions around the concept of being called by the Light

All that is rigid must first be blown entirely away, however much the ancient promises speak of great helps and blessings

Any impurity whatever is an obstacle to the fulfilment of the calling of those who now find themselves upon the Earth

And the judging of whether the conditions of a calling to service for the Light are fulfilled is not their own suppositions about themselves, but always and only the ability to sound in accord with the beneficent Harmony of the whole work of Creation, which is that Will of God still so veiled for many and thereby almost ungraspable

The Will of God is nothing else than the sounding in accord with the harmonious development of the whole universe

Therefore not even a particle of the promise holds good if at the same time the inward movement in the simplest vibration of purity and simplicity of the spirit is not enduringly lived

How very far aside from all this stand the reflections and conceptions of men

But there is no need for faintheartedness, for all the inner power in man is to be directed precisely towards the inner all-embracing volition for good

That is what for the greatest part is also lacking in men

It is lacking because it is connected with kindliness, with nobility of character, with spiritual wisdom, and above all with an attunement of trust in the victory of God in all that takes place in visible forms upon the Earth

Where men do not know that might and all-overcoming invisible power of good which is to stream forth from their inner being, there it is not possible to seek anything truly knowing and spiritually mature

It is then only a pursuing of forms already in existence, instead of the pure power of the spiritual being radiated all-embracingly into all happening in the trusting victory of the Light of God

Great powers are left aside while men continually throw themselves into wrestling with that which often can no longer be changed, because it is the manifested consequence of a preceding wrong radiation imprinted upon the visible world of matter

Only in a new, pure volition for good, radiated in victorious power, rests in the long view the true change of this world of men

This is bound up with enlightenment and with the illumining of the most urgent kind of intuiting and thinking in men

The beginning of the great changes in world happening rests in man himself, in his ability to bring to the Earth the needed kinds of powers from the heights of the work of Creation, and this through his attunement of a pure, joyful and noble will towards good

And that is also that great change which needs to come as the foundation for everything new in the comprehension of men

Only out of this can the inner content of any outward earthly work be born

Where the inner radiation is lacking, there the ensuing gross material work is inwardly empty, barren and without the necessary effect

Would that all those who regard themselves as called by the Light were aware of this

If the fulfilment of this condition in the disposition of the inner being is lacking, the calling does not hold good

Nor can the highest chosenness ever appear, which comes out of the Light only there where in the first place the inner attunement of the spiritual inner being of man is fulfilled

Would that men at last grasped this

Without this step it is never a true connection with the Light, but such a man lives only in the wrong suppositions of his comprehension, which is meanwhile far from the true life in the Light, in Creation, where the spirit through its radiance enduringly experiences a living knowledge of the Creator of the Universe

This, however, is now to change, so that men, through the living attunement of their inner being to the Great Harmony of the work of Creation, may be able to radiate out of the spark of their spirit the all-embracing good as the fundamental beginning for all else

Now the time is here for that also to be fulfilled at last, together with the new knowledge which is coming, which until now is the most painful place in the working of the Light upon the Earth through the work of earthly men

Everything is to be preceded by the radiation of the spiritual inner being, in which the luminosity of the kindness and the joy of the human spirit will be contained

For the fulfilment of a calling by the Light this is directly a condition which will never give way, for it would be a denial of the Laws of God in Creation

All else stands behind this radiation, which is to be for everything the abiding fundamental brightness in man

Whoever in the near time longs to stand in accord with the Light and to work here upon the Earth in the sense of faithful service to the Will of God, let him seek the way to his inner being, so as to recognise therein the glory and the power resting in the primary vibration of his own spiritual essence which precedes all else

Whatever cannot stand within this kind of vibration will be designated from the Light as barren working

The present world, however, needs the most living, most beneficent radiation streaming forth from the inner beings of the greatest possible number of people upon the Earth

Upon this depends the measure and the manner of the fulfilment of all the promises

Therefore the power of the new knowledge now also draws near to the Earth, so that together with it the enlightenment of many may come about

And this will also come to pass, so that it may be borne witness that with the help of the Light and of the All-Wisdom of God it can truly be fulfilled that those who could for so long be designated as the last will in the end be among the first
