The Words of Jesus penetrate the universe
They fly through the spheres, so as now to present themselves at the Judgment of God over mankind
The Words bear within them all that is needed for everyone, even the most superficial man, easily to grasp how the Laws of God work in all things to bear witness to all that fills his path
Thanks to these Words everyone can easily recognise how he himself stands before the Justice of God
He can recognise it, if only he wills to recognise it
In their all-embracing scope the Words work with the effect of the perfection of God
Unceasingly they work on the one hand as a testimony to the working of all the evil that arises from men towards their fellow men, and at the same moment they are also witnesses of all the good which some man has done for all the weaker and more helpless dwellers in the work of Creation
They form a sharp dividing line for the most just sifting of all the volition of man towards the life around him
They reach into the very smallest shades of the motives of human volition
Every single vibration of volition beneath these Words always brings at once and self-actingly a testimony as to the state of the spiritual inner being in man
That is because in holy fulfilment these Words were laid into the mouth of Jesus, at the bidding of God the Father, by Imanuel, the Holy Spirit, so that from that hour onwards mankind should be judged upon them
Either the human spirit stands the test in these Words, in that in the right quickening of the intuitive perceiving of his inner being he does to all creatures without distinction only that which is filled with purity and good, or else, in the smothering of the aliveness of his spiritual spark, he lives in such a way that now and then, or perhaps even often, he causes pain and suffering of the most varied kind to all the life around him
To do only good means to show oneself as a pure man who has become luminous in the spirit
To do of one's own free will only that which is good bears witness to the spiritual maturity of a man
Such a thing is not possible without a share of that childlikeness which so far outweighs all the intentions of the intellect that the outcome of a man's conduct is a joyful and helping activity, no matter what in life it may concern
It holds for ever that a good man will never of his own will wish to do evil things
This holds above all where he shows goodness towards those who are weaker than he, and thereby more vulnerable to him
If he does not misuse his position for evil but on the contrary for good conduct, then the fruit of it, even if no man saw his motives, bears witness before the Laws of God to his inner maturity, bears witness to the greatness of his spirit
In the Words of Jesus, as is always the case with Words spoken out of the Truth, there lies for man at the same time a great opportunity to grasp the working of the Will of God in Creation
It is a picture of the great happening in the work of Creation
The Will of God for the work of Creation is Parzival, working at its very summit in the Castle of the Grail
In that he bears within himself a part of the unsubstantiate radiation of God the Father, out of Whose Will the work of Creation arose to life, Parzival is bound up with everything that takes place in the work of Creation
In him all unfolds as in the Son of Man appointed by God the Father, who mediates the Will of God for this Creation
Whatever therefore happens in Creation, in whatever place it may be, happens at the same time, through the radiation of the Will of God anchored within him, also to Him Himself, for this is given in that He is the Steward of everything in this Creation, from the smallest to the greatest
Even the smallest particle of life in Creation belongs to His stewardship alone
For this he was set by the All-Wisdom of God upon the summit of the work of Creation
He is the appointed ruler over all life in the work of Creation, working eternally in the Justice of God the Father
Therefore, whatever the smallest thing that takes place in any place of the work of Creation, it travels at last along living threads to him, so that he may judge whether it is in accord with the Will of God the Father or not
Even the very slightest vibration of the experiencing of every creature reaches him, and He knows of it
Therefore it is precisely He Who from the beginning is the appointed Steward and Judge over all things
Pain reaches Him just as joy does, even though they be experienced in the most distant planes and worlds
Men need to grasp all this rightly, and above all they need to let this picture come alive within them so mightily and so strongly that they carry it constantly within as a sure knowledge for all their further volition
Whatever a man does is woven into threads which in the form of radiation come at last, through a wondrous animistic weaving incomprehensible to the human mind, all the way to Parzival
Thus men may hold permanently alive within them the knowledge that whenever they will good out of themselves, even towards the smallest thing to be found in the work of Creation, they are then in accord with Parzival, the King and Judge appointed by the Holy God for all life
Then they may also at any time find in Parzival a helping protection and refuge for themselves, if in their striving for good and for harmony oppression and injustice from another befalls them
They may flee to him for protection, for help and for strengthening
It does not mean, however, complaining to Parzival at once about everything and seeking to call upon him as a judge to judge others whenever a man feels himself slighted and wounded by them, for everyone bears within himself a certain strength of spirit for his own defence
This strength is first to be used in the best manner in which the human spirit can employ it, so as to preserve harmony
Only when he perceives into the deepest part of his inner being that his own strength does not suffice to withstand some evil in its most varied forms, has he then the full right to call for help to the protector of all, to Parzival
If he calls fervently and rightly, help will come to him in one form or another
Parzival, the King of Creation, lets none of those who belong to the host of the Light suffer injustice for long
Men need only to recognise in humility whether that which befalls them is not the return of something past which they themselves once did to their fellow men, or whether it is a newly arising evil from those who inflict it upon others
If men suffer thereby, then they are to bear it bravely in the nobility of character of their pure spirit, they are to learn thereby to recognise all the threads of fate at work therein, so that they may become the best knowers of the Will of God
At the same time this forms in them the soil for forgiving others their transgressions in the preserving of Harmony
This is something that is always only of benefit to man, for it makes him mature in sensitivity and wise in the experiencing of all the happening in the work of Creation
As a result men who thus perceive intuitively in inner purity will always recognise very well where injustice is being done to them, and where on the contrary they perhaps do injustice, pain and suffering themselves, however slight the particle of life to which it is caused
For thousands of years men have caused evil and pain precisely by wrongly grasping the principle of struggle in nature, which they observed in the animistic
They took it as a confirmation of the right of the stronger, who alone has the support of the Laws of Creation
They took it so because they observed it in the world of nature among the animals, the plants and all other forms of life
The animistic, however, stands otherwise towards the Laws of God than does the spiritual kind
The happening in the animistic is always subject to the upholding of harmony in all the building up and the maintaining of the work of Creation
In the materialities this often means interventions which to the eyes of men may appear harsh and cruel
Such a thing, however, can occur only to the mind of a man who does not know the principle of Harmony, which by the commission of the Will of God the animistic servants hold wholly in their stewardship in all that concerns nature and the life unfolding within it
Never, however, was it meant that men should arrogate to themselves in wilfulness the outward inflicting of pain and cruelty upon the life around them in a clumsy imitation of the work of the animistic servants
The way and the very task of the human spirit are other than the working of the animistic servants
Together with the free will which the animistic kind lacks, the human spirit is graciously equipped with intuitive perception, so that wherever it is needful he may show aliveness in the seeking of the ways of Harmony by a creative path and through the art of finding connection with the planes of the spiritual kind, which stand above the animistic kind of working
This makes him a different dweller upon Earth from the world of the animals and of the elements
If therefore the human spirit lowers himself to inflicting pain where through the exertion of his intuitive perceiving other ways to harmony could have been found, in that moment he fails
From this also, among other things, follows the need for a sharp separation of the fine vibrations within the concept of severity
Severity must never be heartless
Just as it is not to be unjust, for thereby it at once removes itself from the blessing of the Laws of Creation
It has moreover always been an inseparable part of Harmony, for it goes forth from the Purity of God
But the severity so often exercised by men, lacking the intuitive sense of balance, is in its superficiality an ill-fated intrusion into the inner being of their fellow men, and thereby it stands from the very moment of its first exercise outside Harmony and gives rise to threads which will one day demand the necessity of a reciprocal redemption
Between a helping severity, which holds within it inseparably the blessing of the Laws of Creation, and a tyranny that destroys the inner being of man there lies only a very thin dividing line
This holds above all for every dealing with those who are weaker
Whoever is therefore not able to use the intuitive sense for the Justice of God together with loving help should take very great care in his conduct towards his fellow men when he reproves them or even judges them
He can thereby easily bring himself into a mesh of dense threads of fate which will demand of him a living-through that must of necessity retard him, or even bring him to a complete standstill upon the way to the Light
His own conviction as to the rightness of his conduct towards his fellow men in the given moment means nothing at all, unless the conduct is also in complete accord with the Laws of God in Creation
Such a thing as the educating and the guiding of one's fellow men therefore demands from everyone the highest effort in an intuitively feeling weighing of his conduct each day anew
Alas, all too often men come into opposition to Harmony without in their habitual superficiality suspecting anything of it
That changes nothing in the fact that one day they will be compelled to balance everything in redemption down to the last small thread in their fate
The animistic servants, by contrast, never work outside Harmony, but in their working remain closely bound up with it
All this shows how wrongly men have already for whole millennia been going through earthly life in their striving to imitate the harshness of the struggle in nature as the only model
Every nation which clung to this supposedly right harshness in order to follow it ended at last in ruins
With the world of men there is always to be bound up the spark of the spirit, which is creative and which seeks new ways for the exercise of severity just as for the exercise of loving-kindness
In this men need to place themselves into the right kind of swinging, which rests upon perceiving through intuition
In this the Words of Jesus gave them a clear signpost as to which way is the right one for the human spirit
In His discourses the Son of God spoke in an entirely new manner to the inner being of man
He pointed out where the way of the human spirit leads to the Light, to the spiritual home
He wished thereby to separate them from the materialities and from the wrong understanding of life in the materialities, which in the failure to grasp the difference between the animistic and the spiritual could not but lead men into confusion
From a certain degree of maturity of the human spirits onwards the struggle in nature was to be replaced by the high sense of a creative intuitive perceiving which always seeks the way to the attaining of Harmony
Thereby men would have separated themselves from the density of matter in the world of nature and could thus have entered upon the pure way of the spiritual uplifting of themselves and of all life on Earth
That is why the Words of Jesus resounded in so many men, for their maturity for it was in part already prepared
In His pictorial parables men recognised a nobility of character and a greatness which drew them
Yet already shortly after His departure from this world much that was distorted was woven into His Words, and thereby an impoverishment in intuitive perceiving came once more to men, and they returned again to their earlier ways of acting
Once again intuitive perception and pure compassion were replaced by a simplified thinking and acting which lacked the aliveness and the greatness of spirit in the seeking of ways to attain Harmony among men
Only here and there did one or another of the spirits who incarnated on Earth succeed in bringing the legacy of Jesus into life among his fellow men
But such men stood alone and could therefore change nothing essential in the whole
Mankind therefore became more and more entangled in the consequences of its deeds, which multiplied in the threads of fate
In the end there is no one here who could fully stand the test before the Words of Jesus, which clearly and plainly depict the necessity of redeeming every transgression if the human spirit is one day to climb up to the gates of the spiritual home
This should be a most urgent call to aliveness and to living movement of the inner perceiving in man, so that he may at last stand the test more lastingly in all his thinking and acting
It demands of him an unceasing wakefulness in intuitive perceiving
Nothing is a matter of set patterns, and therefore in all things the greatness of spiritual maturity is to be shown forth
The awareness of the Words of Jesus is to strengthen every man towards the highest degree of an intuitive seeking and finding of his relation to other men and to other creatures
The Words of Jesus change the notion of those near and those foreign to us, as children are brought up to hold it by their parents
Everything is to be determined solely by spiritual wakefulness and by the capacity of intuition to seek and to find Harmony, wherever this is even in the least degree possible
And in many places Harmony can be attained
For this the will to show forth the highest spiritual maturity a man has attained within himself suffices
The will towards Harmony of itself already moves everything towards the better
It draws beneficent thoughts, and in these there may then be found the way out for the greatest part of all human experiencing
To men who strive for good there may come spiritual helpers who convey inspirations for a harmonious dealing with other men and with all creatures
Where Harmony then cannot be brought to bear, because there is no soil for it in the men concerned, there animistic helpers may stand at the side of the intuitive man, helping him to guide events in such a way that all that is far from Harmony is rendered harmless
The condition for such happenings is with every human spirit his own inner purity
Only through his pure inner being filled with good can a sufficiency of the helps coming out of the animistic working incline towards him
In the present time all the working of the animistic servants who are around men on Earth is immeasurably strengthened by the nearness of the Ray of Parzival
Therefore, with sufficient effort on the part of man, a way out of every situation can always be found
It demands only inner purity and sufficient earnestness in the striving, which with the help of intuition takes shape in a fervent prayer
Thereby the eyes of man are opened, so that he sees the way which but a moment before he could not grasp, because he lacked for it the needed earnestness and also the trust in the help of God
He who under all circumstances always bears himself as a noble man towards another may then be helped in the time of his own need
What he does for others in helping them and in strengthening them with pure loving-kindness upon their way through life, all of that will return to him for the strengthening of his own ascent upon the steps towards the spiritual home
What he does to the least and to the weakest, that in reality he does to the Son of Man, to the Holy Spirit and to the Son of God
Nothing of his deeds, nor of his most inward motives, is lost, but it works either for him or against him
And it is precisely this that the Words of Jesus describe in plain simplicity
Whoever learns so to heed them that they help him to become a noble dweller in the work of Creation may look with a courageous gaze towards all the happening which now draws near to this Earth in the time when the Ray of Parzival will soon call forth the strongest vibrations of the judging effect
Nothing will remain hidden, everything will be drawn up to the surface so that it may be judged
Blessed are they who stand the test therein
Through all their noble deeds they will be raised above the others, for it is a Law of God that good shall be more visible above all the basenesses and slynesses of men
Whoever heeds the Words of Jesus will find comfort and shelter in the helping radiation of the coming Judge
Through the Ray of Parzival the Holy Spirit will grant to all those who live the Words of Jesus the needed strengthening and fortifying for their victory over everything that still belongs to the old age
