A World Without Money – Where the Beginning Lies

Whoever has ever reflected seriously upon how an age of a more advanced mankind could begin upon earth has surely already come to see that, apart from what will appear in the near future as the fulfilment of all the promises from the Light, this age will also come about precisely through a renewed cooperation with the animistic servants, those servants of God who with their work purely and faithfully fulfil always only the Will of God in Creation

In the time to come, cooperation with these servants of God, who work in matter everywhere around men, will be something entirely self-evident

If anyone already reflects in this way, then his reflections may be called an enlightened course of thought which goes in the right direction

The strengthening spiritual enlightenment of individual men we may indeed regard as a confirmation of the approach of the beginning of an age in which for all life upon earth the one determining starting point will be the Will of the Creator

If therefore already today some man should ever reflect seriously upon where the way to enlightenment leads in the matter of the pure fulfilling of the Law of giving and taking, which is to be present in the daily life of mankind upon earth, then he must of necessity come to the point where he finds the beginning in the accord and cooperation of men with the animistic servants

Precisely here too lies one cause of the tension hitherto between the men of today and the great harmony of the work of Creation, for everything that man continually receives as gifts from the animistic servants he has for a long time now immediately called his own wealth, upon which at the same time, for incomprehensible reasons, he lays claim, with all the calamitous consequences that follow from it

That is precisely the point of the immense tension which still lies between earthmen and the rest of the work of Creation

By what right has man the impression that the earth and all its gifts, which it grants him for his life, are his property

Where does the human brain, with its intellect otherwise working so rigorously, find one single demonstrable proof that such a thing should hold good, apart of course from the wilful assertion of men that it has been so for whole millennia

Nowhere is a single higher proof to be found for this existing assertion of men

On the contrary, whenever man admits on the basis of the established proofs of science that the universe and the earth have been here whole billions of years longer than he himself entered here, he must acknowledge that no such right of men to own the wealth of this planet has ever existed

The healthy intuitive perception in man must already be very much suppressed for him to deny this sequence in development, clearer than the sun, in which he himself is not the creator

If something was created here before man, then all of it surely belongs to him who laid his power into it, who worked upon the forming of the universe with all its parts

Earthly mankind is here only a subsequent guest, permitted to make use of a little of all this, provided, however, that it values the gifts granted sufficiently and also deals with them responsibly

Among other things it is the same with the earthly body of man, which is likewise only a lent instrument for the possibility of man's living upon earth

Everyone who is able even a little to sense intuitively within him the fact that he is in a Creation which arose out of the Will of the Creator must lawfully come to the recognition that the true and sole ownership of the earth and of all that is upon it belongs to Him alone as the giver of the powers needed for it, and also to those animistic servants whom He sent so that this earth might arise and endure

Every single man, and likewise the whole of mankind, cannot proceed from any other foundation than that without the creative work of the animistic servants he would have here no firm support for his existence

Men have summed it up for themselves, according to the biblical interpretation, in the simplified notion that all this was surely created for man, that is, precisely for him and for his interests

From this they conclude that they therefore have a right to everything upon earth, and they have never once reflected upon it otherwise

They proceed from the assumption that all of it is their property if they appropriate it and subsequently defend it, cleverly enough and by adroit ways, against the interests of other men

As a sign of progress they then take it when they come to an agreement with those men who are willing, and within the setting of mutually agreed rules begin to exchange among themselves the wealth appropriated from nature

Out of all this trade finally arose, and to this day it is held that it is therefore a wholly inseparable part of the human world

That trade, however, is carried on primarily for earnings, for gain, that is, from the outset with the volition to have always still more, in this no one has hitherto discerned that grave danger which is contained in it

A danger which wrenched the helm of human striving entirely away from the original direction of spiritual development towards an incredibly narrowed conception of life as a struggle for earnings and wealth

The majority of men take it as so self-evident that no one has ever seriously considered that everything might also have been originally intended by the Creator quite otherwise

No one realises that, among other things, the Bible also speaks of the tempter, of Lucifer, who through his influence shifted the development away from the courses originally ordained by the Creator, and thereby created among men upon earth a false picture of the meaning of their existence

Thereby, among other things, the very Law of giving and taking was also badly distorted

This Law of God requires of man something other than mere trade and the earnings from it

The Law of giving and taking speaks in the first place of the maintaining of the cycle of forces, wherein lies precisely the harmony required by God, in which everything is to swing so that it may develop in the right direction

It is evident that if there is to be talk of harmony between men and all the rest of life upon earth, then in the first place man himself is to fit himself into what has already been created and to enrich the Law of giving and taking with his own value, which rests in his spirituality

Giving and taking was therefore to be linked, on the part of men, with all that already exists, primarily through the value of his fervent and joyful thanks, which alone can be a fully valid compensation for what is given by the animistic servants

Nothing else can count as a more precious compensation than precisely fervent thanks, when something is given to man by the Creator through the animistic servants

If man is to be capable of giving fervent thanks with deep intuitive feeling to the animistic for what the animistic grants him in the gifts of nature and in the forces of the elements, then he in turn is to give on unselfishly everything he has worked upon, so that the cycle of beneficence may be maintained

Only thus will the peaceful course of the world of men and of nature, so long sought hitherto, be found and maintained

But not only maintained, rather beneficially unfolded, for only in this giving enriched by the spirit lies the heightening of the great cycle of forces in Creation, and thereby also here upon earth

What that means, the man of today cannot yet rightly picture even in part

By fitting himself into the cycle of forces within the Law of giving and taking, the spirit of man may mediate to this earth and to the animistic a radiation which, in the right setting, would bring to all creatures the high streaming of Light out of the spiritual worlds

Through man it was to pour down to the earth as a stream of heightened radiation, bringing powers of a high kind which make possible the raising of life upon earth to a great blessedness, from which all could draw for themselves so mightily that never in a single place would a state of misery and want arise

The exaltedness of the streams inclining down from the heights would never have permitted this among men

And the animistic, uplifted by this spiritual greatness of man, would strive with joyful jubilation to offer an endless multitude of gifts for the further wealth of the whole of all life upon earth

It could have been far easier for everyone if in this men as individuals and mankind as a whole had stood rightly and had always looked to the greatness of the wise legacy from the halls of the Grail, that it is more blessed to give than to receive

This Law holds good because there is contained in it the knowledge that where any inhabitant of the work of Creation passes on something good for the bestowal upon and the reinforcement of others, there is at once given to him from the inexhaustible divine spring all the more new power

God's Law of the grace-filled bestowal out of the inexhaustible spring of the Power of the Unsubstantiate of the primordially eternal Holy God holds good for every single particle of life in the work of Creation

It therefore holds good for the human spirit too, that if he also fits himself rightly into the cycle of forces in the Law of giving and taking, he will be endowed with so many new manifestations of blessing that, were he permitted to see them all at once already today, they would have to appear to him as prospects surpassing all his previous notions of the possibilities of this gross material world

But all this is above this earth and is ready to become a part of the daily life of men, if only the deep sense and significance of the great Law of giving and taking is at last recognised by men

This Law was never connected with money nor with trade, as is generally held today

It was surely here far earlier than mankind ever came into being

The whole cosmos, and likewise all the forces in the planes above matter, work with this Law and in this cycle always gain a new inflow from the divine source for the continuance of their existence

The Law of giving and taking is the Law of balance, in which the original all-quickening power out of the Divine, which penetrates all the planes of the work of Creation, is reshaped according to the kind and the abilities of each creature, that is, of each inhabitant of the work of Creation, for the bestowal upon others of a new form of diversity and thereby of the possibility of a greater delight of the life of the whole

Thus too is it one day to come about upon this earth

Drawing from the animistic servants out of their gifts of nature and of the elements, men are to learn to work upon these gifts and to give them on for their part to their fellow men, rejoicing that through them a new value could be added to the previous purer and simpler form of the animistic kind, which was thereby permitted to be raised higher by man, through his spiritual creative nature, towards an ingenious perfection and fitness, towards art and beauty

Thus precisely the hand of the man tilling the soil is not to work for earnings, but for the joy in the result of the cooperation with the animistic servants busy in the field or in the garden, a result which will reach other men in order to feed them or to delight them

The hand of the artist is not to hold the tool with a longing for fame and for the earnings flowing from it, but in order to bestow upon others that which comes to him as inspiration

The goal of human activity is not to be monetary gain at all, nor the satisfaction of a clever exchange for other goods, but precisely the awareness that thereby life as a whole is raised up, in which all men may have sufficiency as it was always willed by the Will of God, and at the same time may live through the happiness of a common creating in which the true praise of the Creator swings like a prayer

The joy that is mirrored from the fact that there is room enough for everyone to unfold fully his gifts and abilities, and thus to become a worthy participant in the life here upon earth, will in the coming time be experienced as the highest meaning of human existence bound up with the awareness of the Creator and of His gifts

No, it is not a step backwards, as the intellect influenced by the tempter would like to insinuate, but only a step forward which will one day come about upon this earth

It is indeed a necessary and thus an urgent development contained in it, so that man may at last be freed from the oppressive reins of the daily harnessing to the earning and the spending of money, into which he was fettered by the material intellectual notion of what human life upon earth is to look like

Man, as a spiritual creature, does not come to this earth in order in the first place to toil for earnings or in anxiety over the wealth acquired, and thereby to neglect all else that is important for intuitive perception

He is here to unfold spiritually in every respect and to make use of the gifts which he carries within him from the first awakening of his inner spark

In this it is not at all a question of the promise of a life without work, in which idlers would more easily hide themselves in the mass of work of other good-natured men, but there is contained in this prospect a living activity which is inseparably to belong to the life here

With what is described here goes hand in hand a consistent sharpness demanding purity of conduct from everyone

All this is borne by the pressure of the Light out of the Ray of Parzival, which with every day draws nearer to the earth

Nowhere here is the notion of idleness and sloth to arise even for a moment, out of which in the end there are always born as fruits only want and misery, sickness and finally envy, hatred and the wild conflagration of unappeasable malice, as the forms and the attendant phenomena of the unhappy struggle for life among all men that has lasted for millennia

In the active cycle strengthened by the Light all this will be washed far away from this earthly world

In the heightened inflow of Light it will be possible to recognise at once in everyone whether he occupies himself with something, whether he devotes himself to something meaningful, so that it may flow from his hands as a gift offered to other men

Offered to others in the joy that it may be given

In the humanly spiritual kind there is anchored from the beginning the intuitive sensing of a principle which is a part of the whole work of Creation, namely that if there is no congestion of powers and energies through excessive amassing in one place, then lack and want will never arise elsewhere

Men sense this knowledge inwardly, yet money and all the social endeavours hitherto which they use in seeking a way out have never been able to remove the curse of want and misery from this world of men upon earth

Sooner or later there always came about a surplus in one place and then a lack in another

All this has hitherto always come repeatedly, because the goal of men was the amassing either of money or of all other wealth, behind which influence and power are seen

Out of this there always arose only pride, estrangement from one's fellow men, and as a consequence there arose sooner or later only the inevitable social tension and strife

Thereby it is shown what wrong ways men have hitherto used in order to free themselves from the shadow of the basenesses mentioned

Money is not an instrument that helps either to better or to maintain this world

The Will of God in Creation will take this evil away from men once and for all, for to all who open themselves with their spirit there will be able to come the liberating understanding that giving is more precious than taking

It will be a liberation such as men have no intuitive sense of, and which is inseparably contained in the great promise of the coming of "the Kingdom of God upon Earth"

It is also a necessary part of the condition for the further continuance of life upon this earth

It surely sounds clearly in the words too, that everything must first become new, so that the light of the new age may shine forth above mankind

It is clearly said that it must be everything that is to become new, not only something

In this is contained the coming understanding of mankind, that giving is a higher, an incomparably higher value than that concentration hitherto upon taking

In reality, however, all this is only a return to the entirely original destiny of why this earth was created and why life arose upon it, which made it possible for happy human spirits to be born here for their development

The true recognition and also the fulfilling of the great cycle of the Law of giving and taking is a part of this promise that everything is to become new

Wise and gentle giving, just as the ability of fervent receiving, is one of the reasons why the human spirit comes to this earth

He is to learn that his intuitive perception and his mind be in accord, so that thereby a strengthening may come through man to the earth which will always manifest itself as proof that he swings together with the Harmony of the work of Creation

Here it is fitting to return again to the animistic working in nature and in the elements, which in this will always be a faithful helper to man

It is therefore all that comes to the earth through the animistic which is in the first place to be given without any claim to a counter-weight in the form of money or of other goods

Every state upon earth which therefore wishes to meet the Laws of Creation and to fit itself wisely into accord with these Laws will create the conditions for all the energies which help men to live to be granted without conditions of compensation in money

It is a great step, which is of course necessarily linked with many further supporting intermediate stages that are to provide for the subsequent healthy cycle of forces in human society

Today it appears as something impossible, but in it is contained the beginning of the new approaching age of enlightenment

Likewise the element of water is in future to be given wherever this will be possible, without a demand for payment

This does not mean the opening of all the taps to an unhealthy squandering of any gift of God, to which water upon earth, for instance, necessarily belongs, but on the very contrary it is a leading to the highest responsibility of every single man

Responsibility is surely a self-evident part of the human spirit's being able to move freely in the work of Creation while remaining in accord with the Harmony which is omnipresent in Creation

A responsibility of an entirely new kind is indeed a necessary part of the great advance of men in their development upon this earth

A responsibility not towards other men in the first place, but always a responsibility before the Laws of God

Never can anything be taken out as a single item from the whole of God's Wise ordering of the course of the work of Creation

Therefore the mentioned advance to a life of men upon earth without the need to use money cannot be made unless the necessary spiritual enlightenment goes before it, which is first to prepare the ground for so grave a change

And this is also now happening

The enlightenment hovers above the earth and bears within it for many men the vibration for a great awakening out of a long-lasting spiritual sleep

It is also to be found in the first thought forms which bring the vibrations of the search for new ways

And thus already today that giving can begin to be fulfilled wherever a man has by him something which he can offer as a gift to another man, without subjecting it to the hitherto existing forms of trade or of exchange

In the simple bestowing of something which a man can offer and of which he is convinced that it will bring help or the refreshment of joy, and thus a reason for fervent thanks, there lies hidden the great blessing of the true use of the Law of giving and taking

As a result it could in many respects begin among men at once, for the forms in which the Law of giving and taking is fulfilled are immeasurably many

It begins with a smile, with a look full of understanding, with a helping word, with the offering of something that with one man is a surplus of harvest or of property

What comes to a man from nature and what he himself does not necessarily need for himself and for those close to him is to be given on by him, so that it may serve other men

In this cooperation between the human spirit and the animistic servants in nature lies the beginning of the great change in the ordering of the whole manner of human life upon earth

There is no division between the creating of the animistic servants and the creating of men

Therefore a cooperation is to begin which will set flowing the great forces of the cycle that are in this still hidden from men

The forms in which this Law of the cycle of beneficently helping forces, in reality of an unsuspected preciousness, can be fulfilled are as many as there are men upon this earth

Everyone can already today give something to other men which through its help will bring them a reason for joy and thereby create the conditions for a right receiving, in the pure thanks of the one endowed towards the Creator and also towards him who is the immediate giver

In this lies the beginning of the great advance forward in the development of social life upon this earth

The good contained in it is able, with the preservation of the needed purity and simplicity, to change much that today still goes in a false direction towards the desired better development

In many men, however, there prevails a mistrust of this manner of men living together

It is understandable, for all too many disappointments line the path of experience hitherto

But now it is after all different

Trust in the effects of the Laws of God in union with the animistic working clears a path hitherto heavily buried, so that it now shows itself ever more that such a thing as the kindness of a man truly pays

Whoever trusts the wise Laws of God working in Creation has around him from that very moment many helps, so that their effects may manifest themselves more visibly in his life

He may then observe around him the active vibration of the animistic servants, who are always at his hand in order to grant to his pure striving an ever more visible support for his conduct

In this, then, is contained the beginning, truly simple yet supremely effective, for the effects of the Laws of Creation to be set in motion here among men upon earth also

The greatest enemy for man in this matter is his own intellectual mistrust that such a thing is possible

The shift from mistrust to trust in the effects of the Laws of God everyone therefore needs to live through within himself for his own part

No sufficient help can come in this from without, if in the thinking of a man there permanently dwells a mistrust of the higher supra-earthly power of the Light

That is a great task for many men otherwise already prepared and inwardly pure

Trust in the possibility of forming a new world already today, in the time of the present, is what the spiritually open man is to give as his own contribution towards the change of life upon earth for the working of an all-embracing good

Precisely that is the first small step of that enlightenment upon earth of which we have spoken

For this time of the rebirth of life upon earth the Ray of Parzival therefore sends out much grace-filled reinforcement for everyone whose inner being is open to change

Upon this earth there is also a multitude of healthy and pure human spirits who came to help this great change by incarnating into the present conditions

It is they who through their own transformation in the recognition of the meaning of life can help in the great task of the enlightenment

They need only to commit themselves wholly to this enlightenment and also to live it all in the full value of their own selves
