Gratitude

Gratitude rising from the heart of man, bearing within itself the pure power for the flight upwards into the heights, always ascends first to the spiritual planes of the Light, whence it is borne up into the halls of the Castle of the Grail, where, irradiated by the blessing power of the servants dwelling there, it receives the uplifting that carries it even to the place before the steps of the Creator of the Universe, Holy God

Along these paths travels every fervent, pure prayer, every inward petition rising from the heart of man

Like a flash, within an instant, a prayer formed of joy or of pain, filled with noble intuition, traverses these distances unimaginable to human understanding, that, borne upwards, it may reach the Divine steps

From there blessing then flows back, finding just and wise helps for the way of him who sent forth the prayer, or of him to whom it belonged as intercession

But it is only the genuine purity of the human heart that enables prayers to ascend and reach the blessed halls of the Grail

Remember this, and hold fast for ever within you goodness and purity

Parzival, as King of the Grail, will remain far distant with his blessed helps for your way, so long as your spirit does not first whiten its garment through striving to be good, and fill its heart with fervour and clarity

Remember: he cannot be helped who himself turns his gaze away from the Light

Only to him who strives with all his strength to change for the better, only to him can help be sent from the Light upon his way

Such is the Law of Creation, which supports movement and the living participation of all creatures

Only what is homogeneous can find support for its striving in what is homogeneous

Thus the striving for the good and for the light in the life of man leads him towards the Light, and mediates the love of the helps sent forth from the heights of Creation, from the Grail, for his way through this earthly life and further, in the planes awaiting him after he lays aside the earthly body of this world

Constant striving towards the good unites each human being with visible and comprehensible helps, confirming that fervent gratitude alone, springing from the spiritual core, truly expresses the relation of man to the Light, to the Grail, to God

Thank God the Father that He sent you a part of His Will – Parzival, Him who in the Grail, at the highest place of Creation, works for ever as the outstretched arm – the sword of the All-Wisdom and of the Just Love of God the Father

Thank Parzival that He is the executor of the Holy Will of God, that He is the most just Steward of your paths, for He upholds Justice for all that has come into being, and leads everything to fulfilment, so that in the end what was sown always returns, like unto like

Thank the Love of God, which brings it about that everything is guided by a higher wisdom than human justice ever attains, for even the least of the least in the life of man is counted by Parzival towards grace in his Holy Judgment

The Justice of Parzival is the Holy Justice that judges everything, that judges every creature from the beginning of its way until the fulfilment of its blessedness or of its extinction, according to where its strongest volition tends in the long run

Give thanks that you may live in the work of Creation as its spiritual children, developing towards wisdom and nobility, having before you the prospect of returning to your true spiritual home in the translucent, glorious Light, high above these worlds of matter

Give thanks that you may live more than one earthly life in your existence, in which the law of the return of what was sown by you in the past fulfils itself

Give thanks for the bandage that lies over your sight and makes it impossible for you to look into the past, for the knowledge of your deeds in former lives would wipe away the genuineness of your present struggle for a better and purer life, which is to well up as a spring of true volition from within you, and is not to be the outcome of a calculated, intellectual balancing of what is past

Give thanks that the true volition towards the good, and the light that is born in you in following the pure intuition of your spirit, is the most precious thing you can give as proof of a true understanding of the Will of the Creator

Give thanks that the way of the good leading to the Light still lies open before you, occupy yourselves with this way, and do not squander the opportunity of setting out upon it while your spirit yet has the strength to lay aside all that still burdens it and hinders its free ascent to the spiritual home

This way, in the recognition of the lawfulness working in the work of Creation, is the Way of the Grail
